she will be Lyra forever in our hearts! |
| AdrianBrony #626443 8 months ago |
yeaaaaaahhhh I'm gonna keep calling her lyra. until the show starts calling her heartstrings, anyway. |
| Glord #626444 8 months ago |
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu |
| AdrianBrony #626447 8 months ago |
that and I doubt the FiM team named the blind bag models anyway. |
| Anonymous #626453 8 months ago |
Well,we could take it and make it "Lyra Heartsrings"
Or maybe something like: "Hi my name is Heartstrings, but everybody calls me Lyra" |
| thatguy #626460 8 months ago |
It's hilarious how background ponies getting official names causes more rage than canon Luna's discrediting most fanon. This fandom is truly backwards. |
| Jackarunda #626463 8 months ago |
bullshit hasbro,
WE will tell you what your ponies' names are and you will LIKE IT |
| Anonymous #626466 8 months ago |
Heartsrings sounds good.
Meh,I'll take it. |
| Anonymous #626467 8 months ago |
Lyra Heartstrings has a nice ring to it. |
| Anonymous #626468 8 months ago |
Hasbro, we Bronies love you, yeah, yeah, yeah. But for god sake, you accepted the name Derpy Hooves into canon. But not Lyra? Seriously?
But in all seriousness, the toys don't belong in the show's canon. Let's all ignore it and move along. |
| AdrianBrony #626472 8 months ago |
#626460
yeah, I know, I guess it just feels... off for us. too much confusion. |
| rafasilva #626473 8 months ago |
@626460
Canon Luna is awesome, but these names are really dumb. They're still living in the 80's; just look at other toy companies Mattel has a great sucess with their Monster High franchise and the name of their characters are actually cool, good and simple. Hasbro still think that girls live in pink rooms filled with plushies called Mr Sweet Cuddles or something like that. |
| ClavisRozen #626483 8 months ago |
I like "Heartstrings". "Lyra" was too bland and generic. |
| Anonymous #626490 8 months ago |
#626468
You make the best point |
| Anonymous #626491 8 months ago |
I like Heartstrings as her last name.
Lyra Heartstrings. Very classy. But I will not call her just the new name. Her first name will always be Lyra to me. |
| AdrianBrony #626493 8 months ago |
#626453
I like this idea. |
| fluffywuffy #626509 8 months ago |
| Imdumb #626523 8 months ago |
Lyra Heartstrings it is! |
| PVRyohei #626527 8 months ago |
Heartstrings is an awful name, BUT, Lyra Heartstrings sounds pretty cool. I woudn't mind if we started calling her like this. Also, trolol is the best tag. |
| Anonymous #626541 8 months ago |
I'm in favor of Lyra Heartstrings. XD And Berry Shine as Berry Punch's mother (Moonshine anyone? XP) |
| Dentist73548 #626552 8 months ago |
F*ck Lyra, her name is Heartstrings. |
| Anonymous #626555 8 months ago |
Guys, GUYS. Sit back and think for a second; there's a degree of Fridge Brilliance to the name that suggests that it wasn't a coincidence. A pony who's perhaps best known for always appearing alongside her supposed true love...is named "Heartstrings"-- you look me in the eye and tell me that wasn't intentional. |
| Anonymous #626562 8 months ago |
'Lyra Heartstrings'...it's such a lovely name! I approved of this. <3 |
| Anonymous #626581 8 months ago |
Heartstrings actually sounds the most fitting of all the names reavealed (golden harvest, really?) |
| PowerWordStun #626605 8 months ago |
Heartstrings pulls on my heartstrings. |
| Elysiaa #626629 8 months ago |
Lyra Heartstrings... I like it! |
| SirPayne #626636 8 months ago |
Im going to go with Lyra heartstrings.
Carrot top and Berry punch are just nicknames that Golden Harvest and Berryshine go by. Blues noteworthy sounds pretty good too. |
| isthachakena #626647 8 months ago |
@555
That wasn't intentional. I'd look you in the eye but you're just text. |
| JustBuckIt #626686 8 months ago |
Lyra Heartstrings. . . kinda sounds catchy. |
| MythTrainerInfinity #626698 8 months ago |
Lyra Heartstrings has a melodic feel to it, I like it! |
| dudemang #626752 8 months ago |
I also favor Lyra Heartstrings! |
| Anonymous #626776 8 months ago |
It's a little discouraging that we need to justify the manufacturers insistence on re-naming some of out favorite ponies. These guys have a huge and very faithful following.
Lyra Heartstrings works fine for me, it sounds right, and I can obviously see 'Carrot top' being Gold's nickname, since it IS a nickname, Berry isn't a unicorn, whoever that toy is is obviously just a relative. But Hasborro had better pay attention to their customers and not push their luck with these re-names. It would be tragic to see them loose ANY of this loyal fan base over something so silly. |
| dudemang #626801 8 months ago |
^You act as if they're doing it to spite fans.
What kind of implications would follow from using fanon names, implications that they as a company could not afford to have? |
| JustBuckIt #626900 8 months ago |
The only thing i dislike is that hasbro being lazy recoloring pictures of the main characters instead of just using any of the artwork/screenshot of the background/minor characters from the series instead y'know ? |
| Anonymous #627100 8 months ago |
^
So they look like the toys that only have so many molds? |
| Wheezie_Moonflower #627168 8 months ago |
one of these days, they'll actually have an election on what to call a new pony on the show. |
| Anonymous #627180 8 months ago |
If only Heartstrings looked like Lyra, this wouldn't be retarded. |
| Anonymous #627182 8 months ago |
Can you imagine the ragewars that would inevitably result if they had such an election? It'd be several hundred times worse than actual politics. |
| Blizardpony #627199 8 months ago |
It begins... or has begun, I'm a little late. People still seem plenty pissed though. |
| Anonymous #627478 8 months ago |
Some of guys are acting like this is
THE. WORST. POSSIBLE. THING! They're just names... |
| teyman10 #627524 8 months ago |
ze zingt de hele dag!@@@@@ |
| doomboy536 #627778 8 months ago |
Lyra Heartstrings is a great name. |
| Anonymous #627814 8 months ago |
I would like to point out that the whole Lyra name changing debate is baseless, because of a simple flaw. Everyone here IMPLIES that the pony is, in fact Lyra. The figurine itself can not be used as the argument to prove the connection, because of: a) the base model is one of the "stock" ones, and they are only recolored; b) the coloration only RESEMBLES Lyra, while not essentially having to BE her. I woud like to point out here, that the logical process everyone shows is Figurine -> Pony in show. (due to how they look alike) while, in fact, the proper connection is Figurine -> Picture -> Show. Let's follow this line and concentrate on the first chain. Is the figurine in the package the pony on the picture? There's no point in arguing over this, the package contains a turquoise unicorn with a lyre cutie mark. The difference in coloration can be probably explained by technological processes on production part, which I am not able to describe, because of my lack of knowledge in this matter. The 2D art, especially the MLP style is easily recolorable, while the 3D figurines are more prone to errors in production, other manipulation. I'm going to draw a parallel to another toy (which everyone insists to be legit and accurate), the Celestia toy, sometimes referred to as Pinklestia. The point is simple - the toys aren't accurate to the show, while their depictions are. Now, what we had proven, is that the picture on the package is the picture of the figurine, and that is how it would look in show. Which leads to the second part. Is the picture on the bag connected to the pony in the series. Even disregarding the obvious recolor of Twilight, there is a fundamental problem. The coat color. It is hard to pass the show color and the picture as one. I would also like to point out that the wikia is now fighting against itself - taken from top of the page "Coat - Very light turquoise". Very light turquoise indeed. To the point. It is the picture on the package that is show-accurate, while at the same time being not show-accurate. Contradiction, anyone? This disproves thesis of Heartstrings toy = "Lyra" pony. I am open to discussion with arguments based on , as someone already posted on wiki "reliable sources". On another, not connected to the argument above, note: lyre cutie mark is fairly common and it is not unreasonable for (purely hypothetically) a dark turquoise unicorn with lyre CM to exist in Equestria. Everyone jumped and concluded it has to be Lyra.
I'm a Lyra fan. Fans and fire always work great. "Like fire hellfire this fire I'm fannin'" |
| Anonymous #627830 8 months ago |
Now we know her family name.
So I like Lyra Heartstrings |
| Anonymous #627831 8 months ago |
Ponies don't have surnames. |

^They do now! |

^^ Mr and Mrs Sparkle and Mr and Mrs Cake would like a word with you.
Plus there's a good chance Pinkie's parents are Mr and Mrs Pie. |
