For reference, in 40k those flying cherubs are called servitors. They don't have robots or computers in the future because they forgot how to make them. So if they need something to perform drone labor they take a human body and fuse it with a bunch of mechanical parts which use the bodies nervous system in place of a computer. They have whole planets dedicated to converting people into servitors with space ports to ship all the criminals in. Cherub servitors like this come from dead children and serve as heralds or sometimes scouts for inquisitors. GRIMDARK! |
