Maybe she just needs a little help with her mane, so she only washes it every so often.
Or, given Twilight apparently needs to work from the book, maybe she got something in it in the Everfree and needs a steady source of falling water and some magical aid. |

^you got it. That's why she's doing it outdoors and Twi's here to give the raindrops extra scent removing strength. FS, the sweety that she is, forgives the skunk. lol. I didn't realize there was so many interpretations. |
