Hasbro makes their money on the toys, not the cartoon. |

The original cartoon advertised the original cartoon. Same with a lot of Hasbro stuff.
As for G4, The Cartoon in Hasbro's eyes was just another advertisement. Obviously it's grown past that, but the whatever. |

Crap, meant Toys. Original Cartoon advertised the toys.

Cartoons advertise the toys. It's just the G4 gang has made an effort to make a fun cartoon while advertising for it.
That's like saying the Pokemon anime isn't meant to advertise the games. |

Cartoons centered around a line of toys are always meant to advertise toys, supplying a universe for imaginations to run wild~!
That's what I'd like to think, anyhow. At least the former part of that last paragraph is pretty much true. |

If there's been any toy advertising in FiM, I haven't noticed it.
I think it's about time for Hasbro to flip this shit though. If the toys started advertising the cartoon I would fucking buy them instead of going to third parties to get my merchandise and/or making my own. |

I agree with Jack. |

The entire show is an advertisement |

The show isn't just that. It's also a vehicle to sell advertising space. We're actually a product being sold as well.
But that doesn't mean to say adverts can't be good or rewarding. Breaking Bad is one of the best ones going right now and the same with FiM. |
