"Ditzy Doo" is also a canon name that some fans believe to be Derpy Hooves' other name, so "Dinky Doo" could be applicable in that case if one were using the shared-name scheme. |

Surnames, tho they seem to exist in Equestria, don't seem to be used to refer to somepony very often.
Dinky Doo sounds better. Just Dinky could work easily. |

I use derpy because that's what the people at studio B use on their storyboards. nobody ever called that character ditzy. for all we know it could have been a different character.

Dinky Doo makes her sound like one of Scooby's cousins.
Also, her mom's official name is Derpy Hooves now, so it only makes sense to call her Dinky Hooves. |

I'm more or less with anon #617997 on this.
I feel Ditzy Doo sounds better but also I've yet to see a single pony with a body part in thier name so it makes more sense she'd also be named as such. |

In my opinin derpy mitght be a name everyone calls her but her real name is Ditzy Dew. And in my opinon the animators called derpy ditzy as on of the multiple names for her. my idea is that derpy hooves is what almost every one calls her, it might even be a insult (like butterfinger) but some of derpys famly it might be a pet name for some of her frends. I pesonlaly like Ditzy Doo Dinky Doo (Well dew but say dew five time fast and see what it sounds like). I think derpy was probably a nickname that she got as a filly and it is still sticing around. |

As many have said, it depends on what you call her mom. Both are acceptable, so both tags should be used.
I personally consider Derpy's real name to be Ditzy Doo, but Derpy Hooves is a nickname that many ponies call her, especially when she's doing something Derpy. Compromise is your friend. |
