Meh, you're good; I don't bother with capitalization much either |

I'd like to make a witty remark in defense, but that gif of NPH is just making it so hard to be serious right now. Excuse me, gotta lmfao in the corner now... |

And english class is stupid.
I have not once, in all my life, learned something from english class or any english class teacher. Everything I know about english I know from experience and Wiktionary. If I ever leave punctuation or capitalization or whatever out of my comments it's because it's not necessary for understanding. And if I ever spell something wrong it's a typo. |

Jack that has to be one of the most asinine things I've heard about school, right next to the "I'm a great artist, I don't need school!" ideology. You learn the basics of grammar and spelling via your English teachers. And they don't just teach you how to spell and what the difference between a predicate and a pronoun, they also teach you about the elements of literature and varying non-prose writing.
And then, in a real situation, I'd doubt you'd skimp on the grammar of a resume. I'm not saying that's the case for you, though. I'm sure you have a nice job. But to anyone else, I just wanted to point that out. |

I'm currently taking a few English syntax classes, and I can tell you...
You're right. But only to an extent. |

English class is for kids who don't read on their own.
An English degree is just something that overqualifies you for Burger King. |

I'd argue, but internet. |

Let me clarify:
Mind you, not all of us are conscious about the workings of the English language, or for that matter any language. But at an early age, we have learned to use language to where it is second nature, perfect or otherwise moderately acceptable/understandable, without having learned the intricate rules of Syntax. On the professional level, you need to know perfect grammar capabilities to succeed. That is why English classes are important, because they refresh and refine your linguistic and writing skills that are needed in society. On the social/personal level, you need to know how to speak and write on a level so that anyone can understand you with little-to-no confusion in-between. BUT, that does not mean that all of us SHOULD become English majors just to use English well. Sometimes the best way to learn is to try, fail/succeed, and change. |

It's language:follow the rules enuff that we can understand you, maybe add extra to not attract grammar nazis/spelling trolls. That is all. |
