Frantic and St. Anger kick ass... the other songs are just good. Not great, but I did love Dirty Window.

^^^^ I can deny it. The whole album was shit from the beginning to the end. Badly written, badly recorded, badly performed, badly produced, full of incredibly stupid decisions (brass bell snare, deliberate out of key singing, "NO ONE ELSE IS USING GUITAR SOLOS SO WE MUST NOT EITHER--WHY IS KIRK HAMMETT IN THIS BAND AGAIN?"). Never in my life have I ever felt so ripped off, and it actually made me decide I would never buy another album without downloading it first to see if it was any good.
And then right when I thought they might finally be returning to respectability with Death Magnetic (which I downloaded, liked, and went out and bought--how'd that work for you Lars?), they go and drop this latest pile of turd on my ears. |
