Didn't someone measure them with apples and get around 4 feet. Also Octavia plays something in size of a double bass according to the apple size chart. The problem is that her instrument is not clearly a cello or double bass |

No, Ohmurr, this is not consistent with the cow scale, which concluded the average pony is over three feet (roughly a meter) while standing on all four hooves, measured at the top of the head. The cow scale is consistent with the apple scale, however (check tags cow_scale & apple_scale to see). |

If it's a a double bass instead of a cello, it works out to match the apple scale almost perfectly. Given all that, I think what the analysis *actually* proves is that Octavia plays Double Bass. |

I did scalings a while back, comparing Applejack to the cattle in Applebuck Season and Fluttershy to the birds in the pilot, and got a fairly consistent 3' 6", or a bit over a meter. |

The average obtained from different sources has been slightly over three feet for the adults while in all four. Regardless of what is usually used to get measurements. However, there is a huge flaw here.
The use of a manufactured object. Manufactured objects can vary greatly in size, specially depending on who makes them. You can't assume a culture that has nothing to do with humans would manufacture objects to human proportions. Animals and nature are better sources of reference. Even if they still won't be perfect. |

I'm obligated to disagree because I wrote like 20 stories in which they are taller, just enough so to be the appropriate size to be considered a human female analogue by the average human male; in short, I believe that most ponies would be approximately 5 to 5.5 feet when standing on two legs.

I like the "three feet/One meter" as a general "big enough to buck a dwarf apple tree" height, but I'm still going to call the instrument a "cello" because it takes less time to type than "double bass".

This is kinda a derp. Remember that video EqD finally posted, 'Addressing an issue: Cello or Doghouse'? They found that the 'Cello' is the right size for a Double Bass. She plays it like a Double Bass. This entire thing is based on the assumption that it is a cello. And that is why the entire thing is wrong.

If it is a Double Bass, and precisely 6 feet tall, then lets go through the same math again, since proportions are right.
A 264:335 ratio would make her 4.73 feet on hind legs. This becomes 3.78 feet on all fours with the 502:628 ratio for all fours. + or - 10%, this is an average height of 3.40 to 4.16 feet on all fours. Sad part is, the first Anonymous, #615130, is right about the blowjob height either way... it's just that the image would make them stand on hind legs to do it, while my math here makes all fours the perfect height. |

Probably a Bass Violin. Cello ancestor, but somewhat larger and usually tuned the same (or sometimes a step lower).
