^ Pitch-black alicorns with red-striped manes don't fit seamlessly into the background of an episode. A character that would fit into the show is Emlan's pear seller, and nobody complained about her.
When people say they hate OCs they almost always mean they hate shit designs and self-inserts. The pear seller and the murderous "Pinkamena" are neither of things, so no one hates them for being OCs. A character made in Pony Creator will automatically have a awful look (even if the basic design is good the sprites the program uses are terrible) and very probably be a self-insert, so they're hated. If you're really bothered by this perceived prejudice against OCs then you should be trying to get people to distinguish between self-inserts and the broader concept of OCs, and to just say that they hate the design if they hate the design. If you're just interested in acting self-righteous and pushing an anti-Pinkamena agenda, then keep whining about how people like this OC over a character whose special talent is video game related, while never complaining about the fact that people like the Ask the Pie Sisters OCs. |
