Notes
This story was originally a middle aged story but after tons of ideas
coming, especially when I started to find that BTS Classics AU are
rare and it's rare for yoonseok to be a main ship. I am back with
writing this kind of story since less than three years ago when I
started to write stories about castles and stuff.
I proofread this a few times and I really had to rewrite some parts
here especially the summary (cuz I'm suck at writing the summary.)
     Enjoy reading!

***** Part 1.1 - Archives *****
Jealousy leads to war. War leads to separation.
Centuries ago, the House of Min’s jealousy towards the House of Jungs was the
cause of the war.
It began with two lesbian lovers, the King’s wife and a peasant. The King was a
homophobic man who wanted peasants to shut up their mouths. When the King knew
his wife’s affair with a female peasant, who was a Jung, a family of
philosophers and bourgeoises who declared war against the King, he decided to
kill the entire Jung bloodline. Because of this anger, the Jungs decided to
evacuate at the eastern part of Goryeo, with some left behind with a different
name and some were slaughtered in front of high class society.
From that time, you would hear the gunfire from the castle, laughs of the rich
men and women, looks of disgust towards homosexual people, and no freedom of
press.
Min Yoongi always heard a gunfire coming from the castle grounds when he was
young. He was always inside his bedroom with Kim Seokjin, his best friend,
playing with toys and playing tag. His family was lightly strict towards him
and his brother, Yungwoo unless they sneaked out of the room, didn’t follow
their instructions, going out of the castle without someone accompanying them.
As Yoongi grew older, his perplex mind started to grow, looking for
enlightenment. He wanted to know why he always heard the gunfire, why he always
heard the word “Jung” in every single conversation, why poor men were thin and
why there was no sympathy around him.

===============================================================================

When they were fifteen, he and Seokjin rode inside the carriage to go to a
school. Rich children and middle-class children could go to the school. Poor
children could attend, but they weren’t allowed to go to a certain number of
facilities. He and Seokjin were classmates since their very first day in
school. During break time, Yoongi and Seokjin spent time on the hill reading
and writing poems and stories. Most of the poems they read were about rich
people enjoying their drinks, dancing, and dresses. Yoongi found most of those
poems uninteresting to his taste.
“Seokjin hyung,” Yoongi called him. “Are they any poems there rather than poems
about two people dancing while they’re stupidly drunk?”
“Stupidly drunk? Oh, come on, Yoongi yah! There were other stories other than
that.” Seokjin piled the papers and books accordingly. “Let’s go to the library
to find some new books.”
They brought the books and papers to the library to return them. The library
was a huge place. There were staircases that have access to different genres of
books. There were four librarians who were in charge four sections. One of the
four sections were prohibited, which is the Archives, where dark secrets of the
kingdom were placed. That section was locked and only the highest ruler, which
is the king, has an access to that place.
He and Seokjin were searching for interesting books on the aisles. The books
were well arranged, hoping that they could find something unique among the
books here. Yoongi opened a book and searched through the pages, but he closed
the book and returned it to the shelves. He kept on searching for a book – a
book that has a history of this kingdom, about why his family was an evil clan
throughout the centuries, why classes existed. He didn’t mind if one of a
member of his family would caught him reading unusualbooks. At the edge of the
library, Yoongi saw a thin boy sneaked past through the door that led to the
Archives. He recognized the boy as middle-class, whose clothes were clean with
only a few spots of dirt patched on his clothes. He followed the boy into the
Archives. Luckily, a librarian who was in charge was in dismissal. He looked
around the section and he saw thought-provoking labels of different aisles.
Philosophy, history, journals, mechanical engineering, everything that are not
available in the library. He followed the thin boy and he saw him getting some
books in the Philosophy section. The boy has fine lips, sharp jawline and a
height which was quite taller than Yoongi. While he approached him, the boy ran
in fear.
“Please don’t run.” Yoongi politely told him.
The boy stopped, carrying the books that he collected.
“I’ll not gonna tell the King that you’re trespassing.”
The boy looked around to analyze Yoongi. He recognized him as the King’s son
because of his facial features and his clothes. “You’re his son. Please don’t
approach me, you liar!”
“I’ll not gonna kill you nor tell my father. I’m not lying. Just tell me what’s
your name.”
“My name is confidential and must not be known to your clan.” The boy resisted.
“Your family is against my own family.”
Yoongi paused. He realized that he was a Jung, a family that his family had
been looking for centuries. The Jungs were the people who ruled the Eastern
Kingdom after the separation. The House of Min and the House of Jung were
always in the rivalry for the throne during the time when Goryeo was united. He
always heard that surname from his grandfather and his father, when they were
talking about the execution of three members of the Jung family. Yoongi slowly
walked towards him and he reached out his hands for a handshake.
“I’m Min Yoongi, a defected member of the House of Min.” Yoongi introduced
himself.
The boy smiled and he placed down the books on the table to shake Yoongi’s
hands. “I’m Jung Hoseok, who lived under the surname Chong and it’s nice to
meet you.”
Yoongi smiled and Hoseok led him to the table, where he showed him some books.
“What books are you looking for?” Hoseok asked.
“I want to be enlightened about my family’s history, or something like that. My
friend Seokjin and my mother was looking for books that my ancestors hid for
years.”
Hoseok nodded. “My family had never seen a member or two from the House of Min
who is or are looking for a revolutionary book.”
“Revolutionary?” Yoongi gasped. Hoseok gave him three books and one journal.
Yoongi took a look at the contents of the books and he grinned after he read a
few sentences.
“I have many books about them inside my house. It is confidential, of course.
You must come to my house to take a look at them,” Hoseok recommended.
“I don’t know if I can go to your house or meet you again…”
“I’ll not gonna meet you but to see you again. My father’s execution is
tomorrow.”
“Your father will be executed?” Yoongi became paralyzed. “Why?”
“He got married to my other father, who gave birth to me. Do you know the rule
that same-sex marriage is prohibited? Do you know a mandatory that your
ancestor had made after the separation?”
Yoongi was silent. He really didn’t know what Hoseok talked about.
“You don’t know. Let me tell you what happened. This might affect your views
about your own family. I know that you want to be enlightened, but being
enlightened about the dark past of your own kingdom will forever affect your
mindset.”
Yoongi nodded. Hoseok began.
“My ancestors during the war evacuated at the eastern part of the land, where
they started a kingdom. Do you know the reason why the war began? It was
because of the former queen that got married to my ancestor led the king to
jealousy.”
When Yoongi heard the word ‘jealousy,’ he started to listen attentively.
“I like to emphasize to you - jelousy can be the cause of war.”
Yoongi nodded and Hoseok continued. “The war lasted for years. The war has
stopped when the. Your ancestors thought that the Jungs were on the other side
of the land, but they realized that there were some members of our house that
still stayed inside the kingdom to spy them.
“It was then becoming a mandatory to execute a member, old and new, that has
the same bloodline as ours. From that time, we changed names so that we would
be safe and sound on the farm. We struggled just like laborers outside the
walls of your kingdom. We used a lot of pseudonyms so that the kingdom will not
get us because we bashed them, but some of the members of the family betrayed
us and they were part of the middle or high-class society because they gave
them our location. We escaped many times. We kept on changing names that we
lost track of what our real name was.
“Your fathers brainwashed the entire kingdom with happiness and superiority.
They made a mindset that the Mins were the powerful ones who would provide you
richness and prosperity. They brainwashed everyone so that they would suffer.
Fathers and sons left their family to work, even at the young age. You can see
peace in the sky, but for peasants, they see hope that this pain will end
although it will not happen.”
Hoseok paused when Yoongi looked away and started contemplating. He attempted
to meet his eyes by moving his head, but he failed.
“Did I just make you—”
“Hoseok…”
Was this the reason why there were sounds of rifles from his castle? This was
an unbelievable explanation from a Jung, a family of intellectuals that his
family couldn’t stop talking about. His family always targeted Hoseok’s family
and their names were always every where in the papers, considering them as
traitors. Now he knew why, it was because his family resisted the truth.
But that wasn’t enough.
He wanted to know more about his family.
“So this is why your family is against mine,” Yoongi spoke, “they can’t deny
the truth.”
Hoseok nodded.
“But still… Convince me more of it. I am the eldest of the family. I can change
the kingdom when I am older. Tell me more of it.” Yoongi told him, despising
the attitude of the family that he must possessed.
A sound of a knock echoed in the Archives room. Yoongi quickly picked up his
books and he and Hoseok hid under the table. They heard the sounds of footsteps
coming from the door. There were no sounds of people talking, just a sound of
footsteps.
“Yoongi yah, where are you?” Jin spoke out.
Hoseok looked at Yoongi and he said. “Who is he?”
“It’s my friend, Jin. I have to go home.”
They went out of the table and Jin saw them. He ran towards Yoongi. “You need
to go home.” When Jin looked at Hoseok, he looked at Yoongi in suspicion. “Who
is he?”
“He’s Jung Hoseok.”
Hoseok’s nerves shook as Yoongi spoke his name.
“Don’t worry, Hoseok…” Yoongi realized that he didn’t ask Hoseok how old he
was.
“I’m 16 years old, Yoongi ssi.”
“Well, Hoseok hyung.” Yoongi chuckled. “He’s Kim Seokjin. He’s older than me.
He can be trusted, so don’t worry.”
Jin waved his right hand. “Hi, it’s nice to meet you, Hoseok ssi.”
Hoseok gave them a heart-shaped smile. He fixed his messenger bag’s strap and
he decided to say goodbye before he escaped through the window. “I have to go
home. I decided to leave in this way so that I’ll not be caught trespassing.”
He stepped onto the table before he proceeded through the sill of the window.
“Goodbye Yoongi hyung. Goodbye Seokjin hyung!”
Hoseok disappeared from Hoseok’s sight. When Yoongi peeked through the window,
he saw Hoseok climbing down the building through the posts and sills of the
windows. Yoongi and Seokjin left the Archives and they left the library to go
to the front of the school, where their carriage was waiting outside.

===============================================================================

When the midnight came, Yoongi spent his time reading books that Hoseok gave to
him. He stayed alert and precautious throughout the night. When Yoongi became
too sleepy, he decided to bookmark the part where he stopped and placed it
inside the bag. He tucked into the blanket and he faced at the balcony of his
bedroom. He stared at the sky, where thousands of stars shined. Out of the
stars in the sky shined, he spent more time staring at the brightest one.
“You can see peace in the sky, but for peasants, they see hope that this pain
will end although it will not happen.”
Hoseok’s words echoed inside his mind. He hoped that Hoseok also gazed at the
same star as his. He might be thinking about what happened today when he
stumbled on a member of the rival house and tell dark stories to that member
who admitted that he was a defected. What would be the reaction of Hoseok’s
parents once they realized that Hoseok met a member of the House of Min?
Now Yoongi thought of future. Yoongi’s future was always in the hands of his
family. His heir and marriage were planned by them. Now that he knew the
background of this dark story, his future would be affected. He might be
considered as a traitor to the house and be executed.
These prohibited actions might lead him to a shocking issue, especially when a
member of the House of Jung was involved.
He was afraid of future.
He was uncertain of it.
He didn’t know what would happen at the next day, week, month or even years.
Yoongi’s tired eyes were shutting as the candlelight blew off from the wind.
His body was at rest, but his future and entire life were flowing in risk.

When the morning arrived at the next day, Hoseok woke up with cold winds
touching on his skin. Seung Shinjin, his mother-father, a widower to be, spent
his time standing in front of the window staring at the castle afar. Hoseok
noticed this as he stood up and went to the balcony beside his mother father.
Shinjin felt the presence of his son and spoke up.

"The monarch will always find ways to eradicate our bloodline, Hoseok ah."
Shinjin grasped Hoseok's right shoulder. "Despite this, we must not stop our
movement to show up to everyone and bring down the kingdom."

Hoseok nodded. "Appa, I met someone from the other house. I believe he's
different."

"Who is he?"

Hoseok gulped. "Min Yoongi, appa."

Shinjin slightly gasped. "He? From the House of Min?"

"Yes, appa. He seems to be interested in the movement that we did."

Shinjin nodded while he bit his lip. He patted Hoseok's shoulders. "You better
watch out, Hoseok ah. The Mins are tricky. They act nice to you, but they'll
use you in the end. It happened to our family years before you were born. His
father was intelligent and Yoongi might have a strong heritage to his father."

Hoseok nodded and changed the topic. "Are we gonna go to the castle later?"

"Yes, my son. It's mandatory for every family of the person who will be
executed. The family members of the king will witness this because they
captured a member of Jung family."

So Yoongi would be there?

"It means that Yoongi will be around."

"Yes."

Hoseok started to find this uncomfortable. "I need to go to the farm."

"Okay, son. Be careful."

Hoseok brushed his bed hair and changed his slightly white blouse into a clean
white shirt. He wore his boots and went out of the brink house. He closed the
door before he started to stroll and he followed the dusty path to his family's
farm fields. When he reached the entrance of the farm fields, he sat down under
the tree located in the middle of the farm fields. Although their farm was very
far away from the kingdom proper, he still saw the glimpse of the castle. He
heard the sound of a man calling him "lazy boy" and told him to do his work.
Hoseok stood up and he went to the shack to pick up the gloves to start
harvesting rice. He picked up a pail as a container to the rice plants. He
headed to the fields and soaked his two feet in the shallow water to start
picking. Handfuls of rice plants later, his back strained due to the overlong
curvature of his back. He went back to the shack to start picking rice grains
from the rice plants. While he was picking, he saw a tall boy carrying two
pails of rice plants. The tall boy sat down and got a circular basket to start
picking.

"Hoseok!" The tall boy called him without honorifics. "Why you didn't go to
school today?"

"Also you, Joon. Why didn't you attend? You have high grades. Why you didn't
maintain your attendance?" Hoseok replied him.

"Do you know... People above us are the ones who attend school but manage to
get high grades although they aren't good in the fields that I master," Joon
told him, "you very understand the difference between classes, right? That
explains."

Hoseok nodded. "I met a high-class person and his friend yesterday."

Joon looked at him in astonishment. "Who is she... or he?"

"Yoongi."

"Yoongi? You mean the son of the recent king? You better—"

"Watch out? I know what I am doing—"

"But still, Hoseok ah."

"He's interested in my family's movement."

Joon nodded. "That's good. Good. I think this kingdom will no longer be a mess
when he sits on his deserving throne in the future. His family is awful. Full
of greed, tyranny, anything... I and family can't count a number of deaths
anymore. It's like 10 or 20 deaths per day or week... Or even hour when
something catastrophic happened."

Thoughts of his father came to Hoseok. His face became sadder. His father would
be included on the death list of the kingdom, which brought him fear and
uncertainty that Hoseok would witness a bad future.

"Pessimism hits you again, huh?" Namjoon asked him.

"I don't know. You always tell me that I'm pessimistic, Joon ah. Stop it,"
Hoseok replied, "you know that my father will be executed today, right?"

"Yeah. I know that. Is that what you are thinking about right now? I'm sorry if
I triggered your emotions."

Namjoon didn't speak afterward. Hoseok continued his job.
===============================================================================

When few hours after noon arrived, Hoseok returned to his house and he saw
Shinjin wearing everything black.

"You must change your clothes, Hoseok ah. We will go to the palace today."

Hoseok was told. Hoseok went to the small closet inside his bedroom. He rarely
had black clothes just like his mother father, but when he looked at his
bedroom, he saw a small pile of it. He chose what to wear with it. When he
finished changing, he looked at the mirror. He wore a coat and a hat,
everything was in shades of black.

The wooden brown carriage arrived at the front of their residence. They rode in
and the carriage started to move forward to the castle. The trip took half of
an hour to reach the gate of the kingdom proper, where there were many high-
class people wore fancy clothes, expensive jewelry, makeups and fashioned
hairstyles. Hoseok saw Shinjin's expression - he felt angry about it especially
when he saw a group of high-class people laughed about his husband's death.

"Did you see it, Hoseok ah?" Shinjin said. "This is why we don't tolerate that
kind of people. They have no mercy. They laugh at a poor person's death, they
are merciless... That is a mentality of the House of Min that they never refuse
to offer."

Hoseok nodded. The carriage stopped at the entrance of the palace ground, where
everyone assembled for the execution. Hoseok and Shinjin hid their faces with
their hats. They didn't mind people looking at them as they proceeded to the
entrance of the palace ground. When Hoseok slightly allowed his vision, the
palace court was huge and flat. There were men around the court who carried
their guns as they walked around. A man led them upstairs and they saw the
royal family approached them.

"Look who's here." The king started to speak. "I can't believe that the Jung
family is still existing until now."

Shinjin glared at him. "You'll never catch us, your Majesty. No matter what
place you pointed on the map, you'll never find our location."

"But we already found your home. It's too late now. We caught Jingwoo and now,
we will execute him. Where's the definition of your statement?" The king
smirked.

Hoseok slightly looked at Yoongi, who stood beside his mother. Yoongi caught
his stare and Hoseok looked back at the King.

"Your son... He looked so lost because his precious father will be gone at any
moment—"

"I'm not lost, your Majesty. It's not in our blood to be lost, you scum."
Hoseok bravely replied him back. Shinjin quickly looked at Hoseok as a reaction
to his reply.

The King chuckled. "Look who's gonna be executed when he grew up. What a brave
boy you are in front of the highest ruler. Isn't it rude for a young boy to
call a ruler a 'scum?'"

Hoseok bit his lip.

"Enjoy the rest of your father's life, my boy. Watch me signal the guards to
shoot your beloved father Jingwoo." The king chucked as he looked at the firing
squad centering a blindfolded and tied man at the center of the palace ground.

"Ladies and gentlemen, today is the wonderful day. We caught a member of a
rival family who made different propaganda, attempted revolutions, books that
attempted to change the mindset of the entire kingdom. Why will they call my
beloved family evil when we did nothing to them? This is why I and the entire
house will execute a traitor, a contaminated citizen of the Western Kingdom for
treachery and threatening the kingdom."

The crowd shouted.

"Today, Jung Jingwoo will be executed in front of hundreds of high-class people
and his own family as a sign of heavy punishment for his wrongdoings against
the kingdom."

Hoseok and Shinjin held each other as they witness this terrible moment.
Yoongi, who stood beside Hoseok, looked at Hoseok in a worried emotion but his
mother called him to look at the scene.

"Three."

The firing squad who were positioned behind Jingwoo loaded their guns. Hoseok
held his mother father tightly. He tried to hold a tear but the tension of the
execution and the sounds of Shinjin grieving.

"Two."

The squad loaded their guns. The royal family except Yoongi gave Jingwoo a
sadistic face towards him. Hoseok buried his face in his mother father's coat
with tears.

"One."

The guns fired towards the man. Everyone in the palace ground was shocked as
the body kneeled down and fell on the ground. One member of the firing squad
went near to the fired body and hard stomped his foot near it. The blood gushed
on the chest and Yoongi looked away.

"He's dead!"

The rest of the squad brought his body and Hoseok and Shinjin were told to go
down. Hoseok wore his hat as they went down and the guards approached them with
a dead body. Hoseok held his parent tight as Shinjin loudly cried to see the
dead body of his husband.

"Here's his body, sir. He deserves it." A guard grinned as he gave the body to
Shinjin. Shinjin and Hoseok cried as they looked at the face of the dead man.

"Jingwoo appa DOESN'T deserve this heavy punishment!" Hoseok shouted with his
tears heavily flew out of his eyes. He looked at his deceased father's face in
the grievance.

"He deserves it." Hoseok heard a familiar voice which was the King. "Did you
know that it's against the kingdom's orders to do something treacherous?"

Hoseok glared back.

"Did you know that lying about your family's history is a big sin?" Hoseok
replied him back. "I'm sorry, your Majesty. I think I triggered your anger."

The king nodded with a grin. "Boy... Do you want you, Jung Hoseok to be the
next person in line to be executed? You seem so brave today. Is that how anger
feeds you because of your father's death?"

The King gripped the collar of Hoseok's coat and whispered. "I'll gonna watch
you, Hoseok. You are always number one on my list since your appearance in my
children's school. Everyone will watch you from now on and I will execute you
at a young age if you continue your rebellion. Do you understand?" The King
pushed him and went away. Everyone in the palace grounds went away and a guard
helped Shinjin carried the body to the carriage.

The trip to the residence was quiet. They buried Jingwoo's body beside a house
in a forest that leads to the Eastern Kingdom. They lightened the candle and
mourned to the dead body.

"Hoseok ah... Learn to be careful. You want to avenge your father's death, but
make sure you don't put yourself in danger. You own the bloodline, so you must
not lose it. If the Jung bloodline dies, there will be no hope and peace in
this land."

Shinjin placed his hand on Hoseok's shoulder. "Do you understand?"

Hoseok nodded. "Yes, appa."
===============================================================================

The night of the execution fell quickly. Yoongi went to his bedroom quietly
after greeting his family a goodnight, trying not to mention his encounter with
Hoseok. He locked the bedroom and he brought out the books that Hoseok gave to
him. He placed the books on the bed and Yoongi sat down on the bed. Yoongi
looked at the titles of the books and he couldn't choose one until he saw the
last book, which its title was interesting.

A Bourgeoisie's Journal - Life before Execution

Yoongi opened the book and he started reading the first page.

Treachery is what that house says. But for us, enlightenment and unity of two
kingdoms is our aim. Members of a certain house will indeed ignore this because
I'm a bourgeoisie from the East who helped the Third Assemblyto reach out their
voices to the higher class, but you already know the ending of this journal — I
was executed. I compiled everything in one stack before I got caught during
that night and got executed in front of my family, the royal family and high-
class citizens.

This was the first time for Yoongi to hear the words "Third Assembly." He knew
that there were two assemblies, consisting of higher and middle-class people.

Well... Suddenly, our aim to be united turned out to be the match that threw
onto the oil and burned. Civil wars sparked that almost led to another war just
like many centuries ago. We tried everything to tell the house to show
transparency and sympathy, but they were too tyrant to do so because they are a
bunch of people who don't like a man married to a man or woman married to a
woman. If you know a love affair that led to war, then you'll get what I said.

Yoongi became eager to read the entire journal. He read a few pages of it until
he heard a knock on the door. He quickly hid the other books from his bag and
the journal beneath his pillow. He stood up and opened the door.

"Yoongi, your father called you." His mother told him.

Yoongi nodded and he went out of the bedroom. He went into the small meeting
room and he saw his father sitting on the chair. Two chairs and one sofa were
placed near the fireplace, with a carpet beneath them. Yoongi sat on another
chair and talked. "What is it appa?"

"This is about Hoseok," the King started, "it's about him."

Yoongi gulped in nervousness.

"Have you met him yet?" The King interrogated him.

Yoongi shook his head. "No," he lied.

"Good. You better not meet him, Yoongi ah," the King advised him calmly, "it's
for your sake. I don't want you to be in danger, Yoongi ah."

Yoongi nodded.

"You must go to bed. You better not be late tomorrow."

"Yes, appa," Yoongi replied and he went to the bedroom. He wanted to continue
reading the journal, but nighttime became too deep for him to be awake. He
placed a bookmark inside the book and placed it inside the bag. He tucked in
the bed and he earned too many thoughts to think about today.

Yes, he thought of Hoseok. He wanted to know why Hoseok was so mad at his
father. He wanted to know why Hoseok had a rebellious vibe in him.

Sometimes enlightenment might lead to big consequences.

Chapter Notes
Finally, my laptop is back! Expect me to post more chapters next week
or other weeks as I have a contest to handle with. I have to finish
Part 1 before I start Part 2 on the last week of February.
This part contains a few explicit words!
See the end of the chapter for more notes
A day after the execution was a bitter day. Yoongi and Seokjin noticed Hoseok
skipping classes and passing by. Yoongi tried to approach Hoseok, but he
swerved. This continued for many weeks. Hoseok started to disappear from the
campus halls or even the hill beside the school. Yoongi started to feel worried
about him. As a distraction to this, he kept on reading Life of a Bourgeoisie.

Few months passed, when the quarterly Assembly meeting started, Yoongi passed
through the halls of the assembly hall while reading the journal. He heard
unusual noises from that hall. He slightly took a look at it and all he saw was
angry faces of people and he only heard the wild angry sounds of an argument.

"We, the Third Assembly, are representing low-class people of Western Kingdom.
We are still part of the kingdom, your Majesty! It is ridiculous for you to
take us away from this debate," a deep male voice said. Yoongi moved a bit and
the owner of the voice was a person he felt familiar with.

"Mr. Seung, are you supposed to be in the cemetery with your son right now
mourning for your gay husband's?" The King questioned him. Some of the members
of the first and second assembly laughed. Shinjin felt disgusted and offended
by his rude question.

"I'm here to defend, not to be shamed by your low statements, your Majesty,"
Shinjin replied.

Yoongi guessed that the man from the Third Assembly might be related to Jung
Jingwoo and Jung Hoseok since the cause of the execution was the same-sex
marriage and treachery.

"You are just sending me here to put me in shame in front of your cronies."

Shinjin walked away from the assembly hall and strode in the hallway. Yoongi
followed him until he was close enough to call him.

"Sir!" Yoongi called Shinjin.

Shinjin looked back with a glare. "Are you the King's son? Don't get close to
me—"

"I'm here to ask." Yoongi interrupted him.

"What is it, young boy?" Shinjin asked him with a few hesitations.

"Where's Hoseok?" Yoongi asked a question that lingered in him for months.

Shinjin's expression had changed. "You should not approach him, boy."

Yoongi showed him the journal that Hoseok gave him months ago. Shinjin was
surprised when he saw the book that Yoongi held. He took a closer look at it.

"Are you reading a propaganda book?"

Yoongi nodded.

"So... You are Min Yoongi that my son always talks about. I am shocked to know
that you are interested in this movement."

Yoongi nodded eagerly.

"Yoongi, boy... You better not show that to your father. He might put me and my
son in bigger consequences," Shinjin warned him.

"I will... When will Hoseok go back?" Yoongi asked.

"Are you worried about him?" Shinjin asked.

"Yes. I and my friend Seokjin are worried about him. He just met us only a day
before execution and he went away a day after that," Yoongi explain. His face
went down afterward.

Shinjin smiled. "Did you miss him? Is there something that you want to say?"

Yoongi shook his face with a slight hint of blush. He held his book with both
of his hands tightly.

"I think I should not touch that issue if it's something between you and my
son... Goodbye, Yoongi."

Shinjin went away from Yoongi's sight. As Yoongi walked back to his room, he
blamed himself for being obvious. This situation inside him made Seokjin
questioned him. Jin was hanging out inside Yoongi's bedroom, reading a book
from Yoongi's bag. When Yoongi entered the room, Jin hid the book he read and
Yoongi glared at him.

"Oh, come on, Yoongi yah! I was just checking around," Jin told him, "and—"

"I'm so funny when I am mad... That's what you'll say next, I know it," Yoongi
interrupted him, "Jin hyung, why you're reading my books?"

"I'm just curious about what's going on with you within these months," Jin
explained, "you are stuck with the books that an another Seok gave to you."

Yoongi approached him with a straight face. "Don't ever tell that to anybody,
please."

"Why?" Jin looked at the book cover. "Oh... I get it. You are reading"—he
lowered his voice—"propaganda books."

"Yes, and it's against the kingdom's policy," Yoongi said, "I don't want us to
be in harm because of this. This might go to Hoseok's family. You know that he
has a Jung bloodline, right?"

Jin nodded. "I know that. The execution of his father was everywhere in the
kingdom. The articles even bragged it—"

"Will you please not talk about that, Jin hyung?" Yoongi asked him. He held his
arm.

Jin felt perplexed and suspicious.

"Yoongi yah, you feel complicated today. What is that thing inside your head?"
Jin said his suspicions. "And why do you ask me that question?"

"It's just that... I don't want that topic to be discussed."

Jin nodded.

"And then... I almost acted like a teenage girl when I confronted Hoseok's
father in the assembly hall."

Jin chuckled. "Yoongi yah... Seriously? You almost embarrassed yourself."

"Yeah, but I really don't get it. I and Hoseok haven't frequently met each
other but Hoseok is always in my mind since he left. I don't get the feeling of
having a missing piece and... I badly blushed in front of his father."

Jin sighed. "Actually, I quickly think of your condition as infatuation but I
hear that you have a missing piece... I think that's what we call love at first
sight."

"I am just suspicious of my own self. Like... I haven't felt this before. I was
forced to like or love a girl but it didn't work."

Jin nodded. "I guess your mind was made to fall in love with the boys"

"Even boys. I haven't loved someone before... Except you, but friendly."

Jin chuckled. "Oh, Yoongi yah!" Jin wrapped his arm around Yoongi. "Of course!
I love you very much! We are best friends since childhood. We are inseparable
ever since. I'll always support you until your last breath. That's what best
friends with love means."

Yoongi gave Jin a gummy smile. "So, you'll trust me and support me?

"Well, yes, Yoongi yah. Congratulations! You are in love with someone." Jin
hugged him. "I was thinking for a long time when you will go to have another
person who will be your other half."

Yoongi felt annoyed. "Oh, come on Jin... Why does that even matter?"

"Hmm... So, if you are in love with another man, and male pregnancy is
possible... Who among you two will top and bottom?"

Yoongi gave Jin a bad look. "Is that even a question? I am innocent of this
kind of things, Jin hyung."

"Aww, my best friend is still a baby!" Jin teased him. He pinched Yoongi's
cheeks.

Yoongi hit him with his fist. "Just tell me what is it!"

"Alright lower down your voice. Your family might hear you." Jin cleared his
throat. "To be honest, I have a lack of knowledge to tell that so anyway, let
me tell you something that Namjoon told me."

"Wait... Who's Namjoon? Is he related to Hoseok?" Yoongi asked.

"Yes. He is Hoseok's friend. He went back to school a day after the execution.
I stumbled on him and I introduced myself as Min Yoongi's best friend then he
told me everything about what happened to Hoseok from that day and sometimes,
he taught me about mathematics. Badly, you focused on your propaganda books. So
sad!"

Yoongi gave him again a disappointed look. Jin giggled.

"Okay, story time. Hoseok spent both times in the fields and in his father's
movement. You know that movement, right?"

Yoongi nodded.

"And then, Namjoon told me a few weeks ago that Hoseok was kind of different
when he met him again. He felt down and he told Namjoon that it was a secret
and must not be told in public places."

Yoongi thought of that secret as something family related but his hormones told
him that it was related to his feelings for him. Yoongi tried to control the
hormones inside him that this attempt made Jin noticed it.

"Yoongi yah, don't hope that Hoseok likes you too. You know... Hoseok is too
focused to fall in love with someone, right?" Jin told him.

"I know," Yoongi replied.

Jin nodded. "Back to the story, I saw Hoseok few days before today, wondering
behind the school walls. He was writing, reading, creating something like... A
special drink or something. I think Hoseok was focusing on making potions than
reading books."

Yoongi picked up the book that Jin held and placed inside the bag.

"Will he go back tomorrow?" Yoongi asked.

"If you want to confess to him, yes," Jin answered.

"It's almost night-time, hyung," Yoongi told him, "goodnight."

Jin stood up and went near the door where he put his shoes. He wore his shoes
while Yoongi went to his closet to pick up some bedclothes.

"Good night, Yoongi yah." Jin opened the door and he went out. He closed the
door afterward.

Yoongi changed his clothes and he tucked in the bed.

He's ready.
===============================================================================

"Your Majesty, I found your son in the hallway talking to Shinjin. He also held
a book."

"What book?"

"I don't know. It's somewhat old."

"I have a bad feeling about your son. He might go to be the traitor of this
house. You set rules that archaic books are not allowed in public, right? Why
your son used it?"

"I believe he is about to know the House of Jung. This is dangerous. I saw his
reaction of being interested and he might join allegiance soon."

"I heard that your son is somewhere affiliated with Jung Hoseok. Look at his
reaction to the execution and the way he approached Hoseok's father. He felt
something that a member of the House of Min should not feel."

"Look out for my son."

"We will, your Majesty."
===============================================================================

Yoongi wore a dress shirt that has a turtleneck to cover his bare neck. He wore
a black vest after that and he wore his black shoes. After he prepared himself,
he and Seokjin rode in a carriage all the way to the school. As Yoongi stepped
out, he looked around to see Hoseok's presence, but he wasn't still around. He
stepped on the floors of the campus and he still hadn't seen his face. He
peeked through the corridors but he still didn't find him. He quickly gave up
on looking for him and decided to go to the class.

Hours past and dismissal had arrived, Yoongi decided to go to the library,
where he and Hoseok first met. But when he approached there, Hoseok didn’t come
around. He decided to check on different facilities, but he was still around.
He thought about the hill, where there were fewer students around that place.
Yoongi made a decision to check it out.

When Yoongi checked the place out, he heard an unusual sound coming from the
bottom of the hill. Yoongi traveled down and he saw many trees as an entrance
to the forest. He entered the forest and he traveled further. He kept on
walking, searching for that unusual sound.

When Yoongi saw a strange place, that was when he saw someone he had been
waiting for.
===============================================================================

As he traveled outside the school, Jin started to look for him. Jin wandered
around the school. He lost his tracks that led him to bump on Namjoon.

“Sorry,” Namjoon apologized, “are you looking for someone?”

“I’m looking for Yoongi, Joon,” Jin replied.

“I’m looking for Hoseok. He was with me and then suddenly, he went away. I
don’t know where he goes,” Namjoon explained.

“Same case for Yoongi. He was with me when we entered the school and have same
classes together. When we entered two different classes, that’s when he started
to not confront me,” Jin also told his situation.

“You told me before that Hoseok was out there making something unusual. I told
Yoongi about that since he has some sort of attraction towards him.” Jin told
him. “Maybe he started to look for Hoseok because of what I said.”

“Yoongi has an attraction towards him? I thought it’s illegal for someone who
is from the other house to fall in love with a rival,” Namjoon raised his
voice.

“I think it is, Joon. You know that his family restricts same-sex relationship,
right?” Jin replied.

“Yeah.”

“We need to look for them. He needs to control himself. If this exceeds, I
don’t know what will happen.”

Namjoon and Jin rushed out of the building to look for Yoongi and Hoseok. Jin
knew that the hill was meters away from the building of the school. He led
Namjoon to that hill and they shouted names.

“Yoongi yah!!”

“Hoseok!!”

They went down the hill and they saw footprints on the forest floor.

“I think this is Yoongi’s path,” Jin said.

They followed Yoongi’s footprints inside the forest. The leaves in the forest
blocked the sunlight that made them think that it was already night-time. They
crossed through different branches that blocked their path, peeked through the
leaves that blocked their sight on the tracks, and crossed a few streams.

They traveled so far that Yoongi’s footprints started to fade.

“Yoongi yah!” Jin shouted.

They kept following the faded footprint until they heard the sounds of skin-to-
skin slaps and moans. Both Namjoon and Jin became suspicious of it. As seconds
passed, the sounds started to be somewhat more related to the reaction of
erogenous zones. They followed the loud sound, but it ended with a high-pitched
moan caused by orgasm. That high-pitched moan made Jin surprised.

“Jin, what’s wrong?” Namjoon asked.

“I think…” Jin kept moving closer, with his hands pulling Namjoon to the
destination, the small hut. They saw a naked black-haired boy holding a cloth
and began to wipe out the come of his and someone’s chests. Namjoon couldn’t
identify the boy since he wore a black mask. He dressed up and picked up a
large cloth to wrap someone. He picked up the bruised naked body and went out
of the hut.

Jin was shocked to know that the naked body that the boy held was Yoongi.

“HOSEOK!”Jin shouted and the masked boy looked at him. He quickly ran and Jin
chased him. Namjoon chased with him at the high speed to catch Hoseok, but
Hoseok outran him and he quickly threw Yoongi’s body inside the wooden carriage
and closed the door. He then took off his mask. They stopped when he saw
Hoseok’s face full of scars and bruises. His face was wicked that made Jin
furious about it. Hoseok smirked and he hopped on the horse.

“Hoseok, let Yoongi go!” Namjoon told him, but he didn’t listen, “the King will
severely punish you for what you have—”

Hoseok whipped the horse and the horse quickly accelerated along with the
carriage where Yoongi’s body was contained. Jin screamed and cried aloud. This
was proven that the House of Jung were a bunch of people who committed crimes
as a revenge against the kingdom. Namjoon comforted him and hugged him tightly.

“We have to tell this to the king,” Jin said, “he is my best friend. He is a
brother to me!”

“I can’t believe that Hoseok took off his innocence since the execution,”
Namjoon said.

“Why Yoongi has to be a target, Namjoon ah?” Jin asked him. He buried his face
on Namjoon’s shoulders, “I should have told him that Hoseok is now a dangerous
being.”

“Hyung… Jin hyung…” Namjoon rubbed his back, “let’s tell the king about this.
Hoseok is not Hoseok anymore…”

“He deserves to be punished.”
