"Jungkook, Taehyung," The blond male spoke through the headset, "You two head
right. Clear the area and then meet with the others halfway. After that, find
the target and kill him."
The two mumbled in response, immediately following orders. Yoongi sighed at the
pair, finding it nearly disheartening how easily they complied.
He remembered when it was like that for him. When he was so eager to please the
kingpin and climb the ladder that he followed every command without question.
But he could only do that for so long before the job lost it's spark and became
a chore. Not that it was ever anything fun and relaxing to begin with. He spent
half of his time smuggling drugs and killing anyone that got in his way. Being
part of the most powerful and influential gang in Seoul wasn't exactly a walk
in the park, but it was a far better way to live than how he did years before.
"Yoongi, are you listening to me?"
The man lifted his head, gazing boringly at the young leader in front of him.
"What?"
The blond sighed, "I said, 'you should get ready to go in after the boys', just
in case they need back-up."
Yoongi chuckled, "Namjoon, you do realize that Jungkook and Taehyung are
capable of handling a few guys, right?"
The kingpin frowned, "Yes, I do, Yoongi." He turned back towards the screens,
carefully watching the youngest and newest members of the group, "I just
figured you'd like some action after sitting on your ass all day."
Yoongi scoffed, shifting in his seat before deciding to humor Namjoon and go
in. The leader smirked, watching Yoongi struggle into an all black ensemble and
fiddle with a pistol and ammunition.
"Happy?" Yoongi snapped, slipping on a black baseball cap and face mask with
embroidered pentagrams on the front; his trademark.
Namjoon chuckled, waving the man off.
Yoongi shook his head, mumbling to himself as he carefully approached the
warehouse.
He was comfortable like this; walking towards danger without a moment's
hesitation. It was something the other men in the gang admired greatly, but
could never seem to copy. Granted, they hadn't been in the game as long as
Yoongi had. They hadn't faced as many hardships, and frankly, loaded guns.
Yoongi had been doing this for years. He knew every rule and procedure, every
in and out. Honestly, the only thing that kept him from the leadership position
was the fact that he didn't desire the power; had no interest in it, in fact.
He was just there for the money and the rush. Despite this though, he was
quickly made second in-command as soon as Namjoon took over.
Yoongi sighed to himself, relaxing in his movements just as the sound of a
gunshot rang through the stagnant air. He raced forward, cocking his gun as he
approached the side door, carefully slipping inside and behind a box. He heard
malicious laughter, immediately recognizing it as Jungkook's. Yoongi frowned,
peaking around the box and watching the scene unfold. Several other gunshots
pierced the air and Yoongi watched as they fled from Jungkook's gun and tore
holes through the bodies of a dozen men.
"Shit," Yoongi gaped, watching Jungkook back Taehyung up against a wall behind
him, protecting him, it seemed, all the while shooting every man in sight with
a chuckle.
Sooner than later, Jungkook had to reload, so Yoongi took the chance to shoot
the last two men still alive.
He stood from behind the box, aiming and shooting the first man in the neck,
briefly watching blood squirt violently from the gaping hole, then finished off
the other the same way. Yoongi sighed, turning to Jungkook, who seemed unfazed
by what his elder had done. Then again, Yoongi couldn't tell. They were all
required to wear masks. Jungkook chose a rabbit with two dead eyes, stained
with blood and whatever else the boy had managed to cover it with on his many
jobs. Taehyung wore a simple face mask with a bear's mouth on it. Yoongi had
told the boy before that it was too cute to be the mask of a gang member, but
Taehyung told him it was 'part of the charm'. Yoongi never questioned it again.
"You okay?"
Taehyung nodded softly, grabbing Jungkook's arm and pulling him toward the
center of the building.
"Where's the others?" He asked, looking around the warehouse.
Jungkook shrugged, "Probably got caught up on the other side. They'll be here
soon."
Yoongi shook his head, "I don't hear gunshots."
The three looked at one another, concern visible on their features, except
Jungkook's.
Yoongi sighed, "I'll go check it out."
The boys nodded, bidding him good luck and a safe return.
Yoongi figured life like this was always going to be just this. Loading guns,
killing, running off, and wishing people safe passage through whatever war zone
they'd be entering. Years ago, he never would have called this a life. He'd be
more keen on calling it a death wish, but now, after so many years, and so many
jobs, and so many dead bodies, both on his side and the other's, he couldn't
imagine any other life for him. This was what he was best at, what he enjoyed
(for the most part). Not that he could leave this life behind even if he wanted
to.
The sound of fighting pulled Yoongi out of his thoughts. He rounded a corner,
entering a small hallway, leading to another part of the warehouse where he had
heard fighting. If yoongi remembered the layout of the building correctly, he
was about to enter the room where they packaged the drugs and readied them for
shipping. He wondered briefly why the other team hadn't met with Jungkook and
Taehyung at the center of the building, but knew there could be several
explanations. He pushed those thoughts aside and slowly entered the room. In
the corner, he could see a man passed out, blood seeping from his nose and
mouth. By another door, there were two other men in the same condition.
Finally, in the center of the room, Yoongi saw Hoseok twisting a man's arm
around his back, kneeing him in the spine. Yoongi grimaced when a sick cracking
noise filled the otherwise quiet room, and slowly made his way into somewhat
plain view. Before he had even turned to look, Hoseok pulled his gun out,
aiming it at Yoongi. He let the man fall to the floor in a limp puddle.
"You should look where you're pointing that thing, dumb ass."
Hoseok turned to Yoongi, "Oh, hi, hyung." He removed his mask, once white, but
now brown and speckled with fresh red blood. He lowered his gun with a small
smile, "Sorry,"
Yoongi waved him off, looking around the room.
"Where's Jimin?"
Hoseok shrugged, "He said he was going to look for Sungmin a while back."
Yoongi frowned, "And he isn't back yet?"
Hoseok shook his head, tucking his gun back into his pants.
Yoongi groaned, "What is it with you kids and not following orders?"
The chipper boy shrugged, running his fingers through his hair with a chuckle.
"Let's go find that dumb kid."
The younger of the two nodded, following Yoongi through a door and into another
room of the warehouse. It took a while to look in every room for Jimin, but
they did end up finding him. He was sat in the middle of a room next to a body,
fiddling with his phone.
"Jimin?" Hoseok gaped, his shoulders going slack as he stared at the boy.
Jimin lifted his head, a bright smile on his face as he stood to greet his
elders.
"Hey, guys. Look who I found!"
Yoongi inhaled sharply, approaching the body. His jaw dropped as he saw the
man's face. It was Kim Sungmin, the leader of a rival gang the boys had been
trying to bring down for several months.
"You-" he gulped, "You managed to kill him on your own?"
Jimin nodded, a proud smile plastered to his face, "Yep! He did put up quite a
fight, though." The boy laughed easily, "He pulled my mask off, so I guess it's
a good thing I killed him." He turned away and looked around the room,
searching for something. "He threw my gun somewhere, as well."
Silence filled the room and Yoongi and Hoseok stared at each other, knowing
they were both thinking the same thing. Yoongi was the one who decided to voice
them, "You killed him with your bare fucking hands?!"
Jimin chuckled, "No, hyung, don't be silly." He smiled, finally finding his gun
beneath a table, "I killed him with that pipe over there."
Silence fell for only a few seconds before Hoseok sputtered out a laugh,
shaking his head, "Come on, guys. Let's head back. Our work here is done and I
heard Seokjin is making his ramen tonight."
Jimin perked up, "Ramen? Let's go!"
He and Hoseok fled, laughing to each other and leaving Yoongi behind to smile
as he slowly trailed along.
Say what you will, this was definitely the life for him.

                                                                      -Jungkook
Jungkook often wondered what it was about his job that was just so fun. Maybe
it was the rush, the adrenaline pumping through his veins. Or maybe it was the
power of wielding a loaded gun; holding someone's fate in his hand, ready to
crush it between his forefinger and a trigger. Maybe it was the pain of being
in a fight, being hit, and kicked, and punched. Maybe he was one of those 'sick
freaks' that longed for pain. Maybe it was a combination of those things; the
rush, the power, the pain; it was all so delicious to him. He was in love with
it.

Jungkook lifted his head from the pavement, blood seeping from his nose, but he
smiled nonetheless.
"Is that really all you've got?"
The man grimaced, an angry scowl falling upon his equally bloodied face as he
kicked Jungkook in the gut.
"Why won't you die?!"
The boy rolled over, only taking a moment to groan in pain before he fell into
laughter.
"You're so fucking weak." Jungkook stood up, "Can't you hit harder than that?"
The man, in a rage, balled up his fists and threw three consecutive punches at
the smirking boy before him. Each one landed on both sides of Jungkook's face,
bruising him beyond measure, but he still smiled, as if it didn't hurt at all.
The boy coughed, spitting up blood.
It humored Jungkook. The man seemed to be trying so hard. It wasn't even about
knocking Jungkook out at that point, it was about proving to the boy that he
could hit harder.
Oh, how fragile a man's masculinity is.
Jungkook became fed up quicker than usual, though. The man had only become
annoying within the last few seconds, but it was enough for Jungkook to throw a
punch hard enough to almost immediately knock the man out.
"You're boring." Jungkook sighed, shaking his hand free of the prickling knots
of pain.
He reached into his bag, which had been thrown across the room in the two's
fight, and pulled out a pistol and switchblade.
He limped back over to the man, knocked out cold and drooling out of the corner
of his mouth, and sat down with a sigh.
"Yah," Jungkook poked at the man's nose with his gun, "Wake up. It's not fun if
you don't beg for mercy."
Jungkook knew on some level that it was a sick statement, but that was his job.
That was what he did almost every day. He killed and killed and killed. It's
not an easy task for most, especially not for most other seventeen year olds,
but it's what Jungkook specialized in. After so many months and jobs, it became
boring, lackluster. Sometimes he had to make it more enjoyable.
Jungkook sighed heavily, lifting the back of the man's shirt up. He grabbed his
switchblade and immediately began carving into the skin.
"I don't always get to do this, so you should feel honored to have my initials
in your back."
Within seconds, the letters 'JK' were cut into the man's skin. Blood quickly
seeped from the gashes, blurring the letters. Jungkook didn't bother wiping it
away.
Jungkook quickly realized that the man wasn't going to wake up, and reluctantly
decided to just kill him.
He stood from his seat beside the man, cocked his pistol, and shot the man in
the head. A thick spray of blood and brain matter splattered across the floor
by his skull.
Jungkook sighed, disappointed, and threw his things in his bag. He looked
around, making sure he didn't leave anything. Just before he left though, he
heard footsteps approaching him.
"Jungkookie, we told you not to carve your initials into their bodies. What if
someone traces it back to you?"
It was Taehyung.
Jungkook felt himself immediately relax, not realizing how tense he was before
the man came.
"I can't help it." He shrugged, turning around to face the boy with a smile.
Taehyung smiled in return, as always. It quickly faded though.
"Where's your mask?"
Jungkook lifted his bag with a shrug, "It got in the way."
Truthfully, it wouldn't have gotten in the way had Jungkook not been seeking
pain from the experience. If he had just came and got the job done, instead of
fooling around, he would have kept his mask on and it wouldn't be a problem.
But Jungkook was always a fan of fooling around.
Taehyung sighed, turning to the body in the middle of the room. He watched
thoughtfully as a pool of blood slowly expanded around the corpse.
He shook his head suddenly, "I knew this guy was stupid, but I didn't know he
was stupid enough to stay in the same fucking hemisphere after all the shit he
put us through; especially for what he did to Namjoon."
Jungkook nodded in agreement, standing beside Taehyung, watching the blood as
well.
The man, Choi Donghyun, had sealed several deals and 'treaties' with Namjoon
years before Taehyung and Jungkook were brought in. The two knew next to
nothing about the situation. All they knew was that Donghyun went against
several of their terms, which caused trouble for the gang, and it pissed
Namjoon off. That was all they really needed to know.
"Let's get going. No point in getting rid of his body; the bastard's men will
find him and do it." Taehyung scowls, turning on his heel and motioning for
Jungkook to follow. "I have to go pick up some ammo downtown anyway, so there's
not enough time to fool around. We're all running pretty low."
Jungkook nodded, throwing his bag onto his shoulder and following his elder out
of the back room of the building. The two silently made their way through the
hallways for a while before Taehyung broke the silence. As he so often did.
"Do you think Yoongi knows we're fucking?"
Jungkook was slightly taken aback by the question, but he didn't let it show.
"Probably. He sees everything in that house.”
”I still can’t believe we have to live with him.”
Namjoon didn't trust the two to live and work on their own, so they were to
live with Yoongi until the two in charge decided they could be trusted. Namjoon
ran a very clean and orderly organization. When Taehyung and Jungkook had first
joined, it almost shocked them how thought out every movement within the group
was. They worked with military precision. There was no room for error under
Namjoon's rule.
Taehyung laughed suddenly, "Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if we get kicked
out early for it."
The youngest smiled, staring fondly at his elder as he laughed.
It was all short lived though, as a gunshot rang through the chilled air within
the building, nearly grazing the older man's bicep.
"Shit!" Taehyung yelled, rushing to Jungkook's side and pushing him inside a
room. "Who the fuck is that?"
"Come out, motherfuckers!" Someone screamed from the hall.
"I can assume it's someone who's very angry," Jungkook grinned and pulled his
gun and mask out of his bag.
Taehyung shook his head, "Not the time, Jungkook."
The youngest laughed, cocking his gun, "Always the time." He turned toward the
door, slowly leaning out to look. "It's only one guy from what I can see. He's
looking somewhere else, too. What a fool."
"Get rid of him, I need his gun."
Jungkook nodded quickly, dropping onto the floor in the doorway and immediately
pulling his trigger, planting a bullet in the idiot’s head. He dropped like a
sack of potatoes, and Jungkook giggled at the sight.
For what felt like the millionth time, Taehyung shook his head at the boy,
"You're fucking crazy."
"You know it." Jungkook grabbed his things, pulling Taehyung up and out of the
room. "Let's get the fuck out of here."
The elder quickly jogged over and got ahold of the dead man's gun, before
running off after Jungkook who had already disappeared into another hallway. He
caught up with Jungkook, panting behind him as he peered into another room.
"We might have a problem on our hands, Taehyung."
The older stared at Jungkook for a moment before looking into the room.
Scattered across the area, were ten other men, all wielding guns.
"Should we call the others? We don't have much ammo left, and-“
Jungkook shook his head, smiling behind his mask. "No, we'll be fine."
Taehyung gaped at the boy. "Are you fucking kidding me? There's fucking two of
us, and ten of them."
"It'll be fine. Trust me. Just follow my lead and everything will be okay."
Taehyung wanted to say no, to hit the minor upside the head, and call Namjoon.
But he found himself agreeing before he had the chance to think about the
situation any further.
Jungkook pulled a face mask from his bag and handed it to the older man,
watching him put it on.
"I'll get the two on the left, you get the two on the right. Do it quietly."
Taehyung nodded, following Jungkook into the room. Jungkook silently made his
way behind the two men on his left, and pulled out his knife. The knife wasn't
anything fancy, but it always got the job done.
He stopped behind one of the men who was still unaware of his presence, and
covered his mouth before shoving his blade into the man's neck. Blood squirted
out of the wound, and the man merely whimpered as Jungkook dropped his body.
Blood covered his hands and forearms, but Jungkook paid no mind to it. He
carefully approached the other man, trying desperately to be as silent as
possible. But as soon as he stepped up behind him, his boot squeaked against
the floor.
The man turned around, not yet alarmed, and Jungkook took the chance to cover
his mouth and stab his throat. It took a few tries to get a good enough slice
into his neck, but Jungkook managed it well enough, and dropped the second
man's body on the floor.
No one else had noticed yet, but Jungkook didn't rest. He ransacked the mens'
clothes for any weapons and ammo, and took one of their guns. Jungkook crouched
behind a box and loaded his gun. He watched Taehyung run back into the hallway
before he suddenly stood from behind a crate full of God knows what, and opened
fire on several of the men.
"God damnit, Jungkook!" Taehyung cried, running out of the hall and shooting at
any men he could see. He ran over to Jungkook, helping pick off the rest of the
men one by one. "You're a fucking idiot, kid!"
Jungkook laughed, nailing someone between the eyes with a soft 'yes'. "Tell me
something I don't know."
