by JoJoBuTTeRFLY
Summary
We live in a world where common humans and psychics mingle.
PSY-O is a Government-established orphanage for discovered psychic
     children.
In there live seven children so far.
Read along and watch these seven boys grow and become one with their
talent while discovering friendship and love between them.
***** PROLOGUE *****
We live in a world where common humans and psychics mingle. Much to the
happiness of some and the chagrin of others.
Most of the psychics get recruited to work in areas where their ability
works the best, although the majority belong to the military. Some opt to just
live a normal life where their talents go unused.
With psychics’ increased exposure to the common world also came special
circumstances, some where children are killed after birth for bearing the
psychic mark (behind the left earlobe), others abandoned, while others given
away straight to people who could use them.
It’s a secret well-kept; the NEMESIS, an association where these given
babies and unwanted psychics (junkies/criminals) are held and performed tests
on. No one talks about it but everyone knows it exists, including the
government, who turns a blind on it since they work in the shadows.
In opposition to them there’s the KINESIS, a group of psychics who also work
in the shadows but do the opposite. They help psychics who are rejected by
society: women prostituted for being psychic and collared with nullifying
collars, men slaved for their talents and children being wronged.
To the public eye however there exists a sort-of haven for psychic children,
the PSY-O. An orphanage for psychic children, staffed by people verified to
handle talents, tamed or rogue. It might be strict but the children are treated
well and are protected.
In this orphanage there’s currently seven children.

 CASE#1
 [CENSORED] SEOKJIN
 ADMITTANCE AGE 8
 (CURRENT AGE 19)

A tall boy with brown hair, pale skin and wide brown doe eyes is sitting in
the guests chair. The office was painted in dull colors and nothing of interest
called for an extra look. On the other side of the oak desk sits The Caretaker
(as the children of the orphanage like to call him – Gu Seo-Joon for
professionals) watching the 8-year-old boy curiously.
“Tell me, Seokjin. Why did you persuade your parents to put you here? Surely
you know what orphanages are for?”
“Yes sir.” the boy blinked serenely.
“And…?” the Caretaker lifted an eyebrow in askance.
“I wanted to help my parents. They don’t know how to deal with my powers. I
don’t want them to hurt because of me, sir.” the boy fingered his pants in
nervous agitation, the metal nullifying cuffs in his wrists blinking a neon
blue (a sign they were active).
“We call them talents. And I see where you come from. Are you sure this is
what you want? They will be able to visit you, but you won’t have as much
freedom as you’re used to.”
   “Yes, sir.”
The Caretaker looked down at the file on his desk.

   SEOKJIN
   SHIELDER
CASE: After a high fever, talent went haywire and triggered in protection of
its host. Barrier was impenetrable, rejecting anyone that tried to penetrate
it. Disappeared after the host passed out from elevated temperature.

“Well, I guess I should welcome you then, Seokjin.” the Caretaker stated,
extending a hand towards the now-grinning boy who accepted it gladly.

                                       -

 CASE#2
 [CENSORED] JUNGKOOK
 ADMITTANCE AGE 4
 (CURRENT AGE 14)

A small boy with black hair sat on the guests chair. His doe brown eyes were
shiny with unshed tears and a twisted frown was ever-present in his cute
features. His small arms were wrapped around a stuffed white rabbit, the
nullifying cuffs on his thin wrists blinking a steady neon blue.
“Hello, Jungkook.” a sniffle was the boy’s response.
   “Where’s mommy?”
“She isn’t here, Jungkook. You’ve been brought here because you can’t
control your talent.”
“I want daddy. I don’t want to be here.” the boy wrapped his arms tighter
around the rabbit.
“I’m sorry, Jungkook. You’ll have to stay here. Your mom and dad will visit
as often as they can. Deal?” the Caretaker tried to bargain.
The boy just stared at him with those big brown eyes of his before finally
nodding reluctantly. The Caretaker looked down at the boy’s file:

   JUNGKOOK
   ELECTROKINETIC
CASE: Threw a tantrum that caused the whole neighborhood to short-circuit.
Deemed as too dangerous to remain solely in his parents’ care.

“I can see mommy and daddy a lot? I’ll miss them.”
“They’ll visit whenever they can, alright? Welcome to PSY-O, Jungkook.”

                                       -

 CASE#3
 [CENSORED] TAEHYUNG
 ADMITTANCE AGE 6
 (CURRENT AGE 15)

A slender boy with fluffy chestnut brown hair sat on the chair, his head
bowed. His legs were pulled up onto the chair. His arms hugging his bent legs
tugged up his over-sized sweater’s sleeves, baring his cuffed wrists. His face
was buried on his knees, refusing to lift even at the arrival of the Caretaker.
   “Hello, Taehyung.”
   No answer, no reaction.
“Taehyung, do you hear me?” at that the boy lifted his face slightly. The
Caretaker could confess he was surprised for a second, that small detail having
escaped his notes only to make itself known now.
The boy didn’t wear just the nullifying cuffs, but also a blindfold. A
cursory glance at the boy’s file offered the explanation.

   TAEHYUNG
   TELEKINETIC
CASE: Murdered his father. Father beat his older sister half-way to death.
Talent manifested itself by stabbing his father with multiple kitchen knives.
Father died on the spot, older sister on the way to the hospital.

“Oh...” the Caretaker let escaped, slightly in surprise. No wonder the boy
had the cuffs and the blindfold. Telekinesis was one of the strongest powers
and hardest to contain, their hosts only needed line of sight to act.
“Well, welcome to PSY-O, Taehyung. We’ll take good care of you, I hope you
soon feel at home here, boy.”
   Taehyung’s answer wasn’t a handshake, but a self-deprecating laugh.

                                       -

 CASE#4
 [CENSORED] YOONGI
 ADMITTANCE AGE 11
 (CURRENT AGE 18)

A rebellious-looking boy sat on the guests chair, glaring at the Caretaker.
His hair was a very dark brown, nearly black, his skin the opposite, incredibly
pale, and his eyes were sharp-looking. The boy in the picture on his file had a
gummy smile, nothing alike to this glaring boy.
“Hello, Yoongi.” the boy just glared, not replying. “I’m sure you know why
you’re here.”
“No shit.” the Caretaker threw a sharp glance at the boy.
“Please, no swearing. We aren’t keeping you imprisoned here and haven’t
wronged you, surely I nor any of the staff deserve this frigid attitude from
you?”
The boy just watched him for a few chilling seconds before finally nodding,
“I’m sorry.”
“Good. Now… Do you know why you’re here?”
The boy nodded, staring fixedly in the Caretaker’s eyes, unrepentant. They
had a little spitfire in their hands apparently.
   “Any objections, Yoongi?”
The boy’s jaw tightened – in anger? - before the boy shook his head, “No.”
The Caretaker looked at the boy’s file:

   YOONGI
   PYROKINETIC
CASE: Father was an alcoholic, mother was a drug-user. None took care of
him. His talent was triggered by his father and mother beating each other half-
way to death, he burned his house with his parents in it.

“Well, welcome to PSY-O, Yoongi. I hope you enjoy your time here.” the boy’s
nullifying cuffs made a sharp contrast with his pale skin as he rose one hand
to shake the Caretaker’s own.
   “We’ll see.”

                                       -

   CASE#5
   [UNKNOWN] HOSEOK
   ADMITTANCE AGE 9
   (CURRENT AGE 16)

A beaming boy sat on the guests chair, spinning it around excitedly until
the Caretaker’s arrival. It actually caused the Caretaker to halt for a second
before taking a seat behind his desk.
“Well, hello there.” he greeted the boy.
“Hi!” the boy replied excitedly. His brown hair bobbed due to his
excitement, brown eyes shone with mirth and a wide smile was ever-present. The
nullifying cuffs kept tinkling from his non-stop motions.
“What brings you here, Hoseok?” he knew, but he wanted to hear it from the
boy.
   “Yoongi, of course!”
“And why’s that? Is he your friend?”
   “Of course, silly! My bestest.”
“I see. Is that why you decided to join the orphanage? Because Yoongi was
brought here?”
   “Yap!”
The Caretaker looks down at the bubbly boy’s file:

   HOSEOK
   EMPATH
CASE: Street orphan. Pick-pocketed for a living and was very successful so
never went hungry. Best-friends with [censored] Yoongi; asked to join the
orphanage when the latter was brought.

“You’re quite an interesting boy, Hoseok. Welcome to PSY-O, I hope you keep
that good humor.” the Caretaker said, extending a hand.
“Of course!” the boy jumped out of his chair and shook the Caretaker’s hand
with both of his’ excitedly.

                                       -

   CASE#6
   [CENSORED] JIMIN
   ADMITTANCE AGE 8
   (CURRENT AGE 15)

A small chubby boy with dark brown hair sat in the guests chair. He had
smiling eyes that were now filled with sadness.
   “Hello, Jimin.”
“Hi...” the sleeves of the big fluffy sweatshirt the boy was wearing slipped
down slightly and revealed the bright flash of neon blue on his nullifying
cuffs.
“Do you know why you’re here, Jimin?”
   The boy only nodded sadly.
“Well, we’re glad you’ve joined us. I hope you enjoy your stay here. Make
friends, be happy.” the boy finally directed his gaze at the Caretaker,
something timid shining in his eyes.
   “Am I allowed?”
“Of course, this is not a prison. This will be your new home.”
The boy stopped for a second before finally nodding with a shy smile.
Glancing down at the file, the Caretaker saw the reason for the boy’s
skittish nature:

   JIMIN
   HYDROKINETIC
CASE: Mother beat him due to depression, things escalated when she tried to
drown him, only for it to backfire when his talent manifested itself and
drowned her instead. The boy was left traumatized, hesitant to use his power.

“Welcome to PSY-O, Jimin. Enjoy your stay.”

                                       -

   CASE #7
   [CENSORED] NAMJOON
   ADMITTANCE AGE 11
   (CURRENT AGE 16)

A boy sat erect on the guests chair, his back straight and his arms resting
on the chair’s arms. Nullifying cuffs blatantly displayed. His brown-eyed gaze
was sharp and knowing, the Caretaker’s interest was piqued.
   “Hello, Namjoon.”
   “Hello.”
“I can see you know why you’re here.”
“Indeed. Who may you be? The owner of the orphanage?
“Indeed. I’m the Caretaker, Gu Seo-Joon. Nice to meet you, Namjoon.
   “Likewise, Mr. Gu.”
The Caretaker was slightly taken aback at the boy’s straightforward nature
at such a tender age.
“Do you agree with your father’s opinion?”
   “I guess. I don’t mind it.”
“I see...” a look at the file left much to wish for:

   NAMJOON
   MIND-READER
CASE: His father, a famous lawyer, sent him to the orphanage.

“I guess a welcome is in order then. Welcome to PSY-O, Namjoon.”
“Thank you, Mr. Gu.” he shook the Caretaker’s hand in a firm grip before
standing and leaving, not before tripping on the chair’s leg and nearly going
sprawling onto the floor.
The Caretaker held back a smile, despite the sternness the boy was
incredibly clumsy apparently.

All seven boys met and welcomed, the Caretaker finally took a breather,
reflecting on the headaches to come. Seven different boys, seven different
personalities, all very powerful and locked in this house. Only God knew what
awaited them.
***** CHAPTER 1 *****
Chapter Notes
This fanfic is sort of a prequel to a main one I have lined out, I
hope you're enjoying so far :)
Seokjin, the first to be admitted to the orphanage, had fully immersed
himself to living his days out in the orphanage until he hit maturity. He had
gotten used to the routine. Get up early at the Waking Bell for hygiene and
breakfast, then head over to one of the “classrooms” where they taught him what
an average human would learn at school, they would finish at the Lunch Bell.
After lunch he’d spend the afternoon training his talent and learning how to
control it to its max capacity, this would end when the Dinner Bell rang and
after dinner was when he would have some time for himself before heading to
sleep at the Sleep Bell.
A year had passed before Seokjin had gotten his first companion in the
orphanage. It came in the form of Jungkook, an incredibly shy boy with big
teary eyes.
   Seokjin took an instant liking.
Seokjin became a great help for the boy who was feeling lonely, he taught
him everything there was to learn on the orphanage’s routine and the younger
boy quickly adapted thanks to him.
Something that changed was that a new team of aids was brought solely for
Jungkook. Apparently each boy in the orphanage would have their own team with
staff specialized in their particular talent, this meant that the two boys
always separated in the afternoons to different rooms and only reunited at
Dinner Bell. The morning education was the same for both.
Seokjin adored each moment he spent with the young boy before they separated
at Sleep Bell and headed to their rooms to be locked in until morning.
It was a year later that a new boy joined them. This boy however was very
much different. His team had double the aids compared to theirs and the boy was
heavily monitored, despite the blindfold and the nullifying cuffs.
The first week both Seokjin and Jungkook were wary of the silent boy, but
slowly they got used to the other boy’s company, Jungkook especially seemed to
have created a great amount of curiosity for the silent boy, despite Seokjin’s
reticence.
The boy’s blindfold would be taken off during morning classes, but his
fringe-hidden gaze never met either Seokjin or Jungkook’s, the boy never looked
up from his desk.
It was two weeks after the boy’s arrival that they finally learned the boy’s
name, from overhearing one of the staff calling sternly for him when the boy
had refused to follow for afternoon lessons. After the stern call the boy had
reluctantly followed but Seokjin and Jungkook had been left stunned, their own
care team having never treated them like that.
This led to a still-conflicted Jungkook to question his own care team.
“Sir, why is the new boy treated like that?”
“Like what, Jungkook?” the man asked in return as he led the 5-year-old to
his room after the Sleep Bell rang.
“Badly. The staff man screamed at him today.”
“Taehyung is a special case, Jungkook. He’s dangerous, so his staff have to
be firm with him sometimes.”
“But… he didn’t do anything bad...”
“He did, Jungkook. Now in you go.” the man opened the door and gestured in.
Jungkook pouted but entered, hearing the door lock behind him afterwards.

The opportunity to change their future came a few days later when they had
some time to themselves.
“Hi!” Jungkook stared eagerly at the sullen boy sitting in one of their
sitting rooms. It was after dinner and the young boy had been mustering up
courage the whole day to address the older boy. Seokjin had given him a final
encouragement while keeping a watchful eye in their interaction.
The older boy showed no reaction at having heard him. Jungkook peeked at the
book the older boy was reading, but there were too many words and not enough
images so he didn’t understand it. He reached out and poked the other boy’s
shoulder, this caused the latter to startle and Jungkook to startle along with
him when his head turned abruptly and finally, after weeks since the boy’s
arrival, Jungkook was able to stare him in the eye.
Taehyung had big brown eyes that stared at him in surprise from behind a
long brown fringe.
Jungkook took a deep breath before valiantly extending his hand, “Hi! I’m
Jungkook!”
Taehyung just stared at the boy, stunned. He hadn’t expected to be approached
in such a manner. He hesitantly reached out and shook the young boy’s small
hand, watching those doe eyes twinkle in happiness, “Hi...”
   Jungkook just watched him expectantly.
   Taehyung stared back.
“Your name?” grinned Jungkook, he was over the moon at finally being able to
interact with the older boy.
   “Taehyung...”
“Nice to meet you, Taehyung! What are you reading?” at that the boy shyly
sat next to him on the sofa. He kept a small distance, trying to not be too
pushy, but genuinely curious about the older boy.
Taehyung stared for a few moments before finally relenting and showing the
boy the cover of the book.
Seokjin smiled as he merely watched Jungkook worm its way into Taehyung’s
personal bubble and make a place for himself in it.
***** CHAPTER 2 *****
Their peaceful living was shaken two years later with the arrival of two
boys with personalities the polar opposite of each other.
A sullen short boy, Yoongi, and a bubbly ball of sunshine, Hoseok. Somehow
they fit together in the strangest way, since apparently they were best
friends.
Despite their extreme personalities they merged well with the three other
boys. Seokjin and Jungkook had managed to mellow Taehyung out, so the boy was
less shunning when the two arrived. Hoseok had been quick to befriend everyone,
he was easily the most cheerful person any of them had ever met.
Yoongi however, despite his sullen appearance and attitude was actually very
caring. He took a special shining to Taehyung, noting the boy’s introverted
nature and seeing the haunting past in the younger boy’s eyes.
Often he tried to shield him from the boy’s staff’s rougher treatments,
threatening them and nearly growling at them while he and the other boys led
Taehyung to his room before heading for theirs. All had noticed the difference
of treatment between them and Taehyung, most probably because Taehyung’s talent
was one of the most dangerous, still that didn’t mean he had to be treated like
that.
A few months later Jimin joined them and the boy triggered Yoongi’s over-
protectiveness off the charts. The boy carried a sadness in him, creating such
a contrast with his smiling eyes that everyone immediately fell in love with.
Somehow, before anyone noticed, him and Taehyung had become attached at the
hip. They sought each other’s company every single day before Sleep Bell, and
the others could see the positive influence both boys had on each other. Each
one slowly cracking their shells and smiling more often than not. Jungkook had
been jealous at first that his favorite hyung’s attention had been snatched
away, but slowly he got used to their growing friendship and his own developing
friendship with Jimin. Besides, Taehyung always had a soft spot for him and
often gave him the attention he desired and enjoyed their time together.

Two years later Namjoon joined them. They didn’t know what to make of the
highly-educated boy, but once he started to mellow out and merge into the group
he was quickly accepted as one of them. Seokjin especially cherished their
conversations at night when they would all reunite in the sitting room before
the Sleep Bell.
The seven boys melded well together, and as the years passed they became
closer and closer and quickly started living as a family despite the
limitations set upon them in their peculiar orphanage.
They protected each other fiercely and taught each other patiently, soon
their staffs had stopped taking them to their rooms when the boys would take
each other to their rooms in their age order, Seokjin being ever-watchful as
the oldest for something amiss.
It was five years later when their usual routine came to a complete change.
***** CHAPTER 3 *****
 Present Day...

For years life had gone normal. Jungkook had been incredibly quiet and shy,
Taehyung was also quiet but he always had this haunted look in his eyes and
somehow both boys found solace in each other. Often sitting in the library
together, reading in silence. A tentative friendship had formed despite the
lack of conversation between them. Jimin later joining them after his big
friendship with Taehyung surged.
Jimin had slowly overcome the fear of his talent with a lot of help from the
older ones and some of the teaching staff that taught him how to better control
his talent.
Yoongi and Hoseok had remained the same, the former a grumbling skinny boy
that came to deeply care for his housemates – despite never displaying it – and
the latter his usual bubbly self.
Namjoon kept his strict posture at first but mellowed out as the youngest
ones conquered him and brought out his soft side; not to mention the ever-
growing list of items that had to be replaced in the orphanage due to his
clumsiness, Seokjin endlessly trolled him about it.
Lastly, Seokjin had taken responsibility on his shoulders to take care of
all the younger boys, even if a stubborn Yoongi refused his attention. As the
oldest he felt as if he should keep an attentive eye on the boys and help them
grow as a person, for that he was thankful to Namjoon, since the younger boy
was always by his side aiding him and advising him whenever necessary.

A bell rang throughout the orphanage and the rooms’ occupants started
stirring into wakefulness.
At the dining room six boys gathered for breakfast, all in different states
of awareness.
“Where’s Tae?” Seokjin asks, taking in the boy’s lack of presence. All shrug
but Jimin, who pouts slightly before replying.
“He’s locked again. They say he hit one of the staff, but I think they’re
lying...” he says, fiddling with the cooling toast in his plate.
Seokjin frowns deeply, more and more often these lockups have been occurring
to their telekinetic friend.
“Again...? I need to speak with the Caretaker then. Why is he getting
special treatment? He’s done nothing wrong and is the quietest out of us.”
Seokjin muttered. Namjoon nodded next to him, agreeing.
“Smells fishy to me.” was all he said, straight face always present.
“I say we camp in front of his door!” suggested Hoseok excitedly, picking
his face up from the bowl of cereal he was sleeping on.
“Dumbass. And get knocked out again by them? Fuck no.” Yoongi s coffed as he
buttered a newly-made toast for Jimin, switching it with the cold one the
younger boy had been fiddling with.
“Language, sir!” protested Hoseok, heavily offended at his friend, while
wiping his face from cereal and milk.
“I want to see TaeTae.” all turned to look at their youngest and promptly
acquiesced. No one could refuse the boy anything.
“Alright. But we need to be smart about it.” Seokjin was quick to say in a
hushed voice.
“This afternoon before dinner we can sneak in. You know it’s their leisure
time.” Namjoon suggested.
All traded a few looks before nodding decisively and going back to eating.

This thing with Taehyung had started a few days ago. The boy had never
skipped meals, he was very attached to his food and despite not talking much,
his cheeks full of food as he chewed always warmed his hyungs’ hearts. Meal
times and after dinner were the only times the boy was allowed out of his
blindfold and the only time the others could trade looks with the boy, so rare
and few in-between.
He had never skipped a meal and never rejected spending time with Jungkook
or Jimin, the boys he was closest to. The past 4 days however he has been kept
locked up in his room, bound, apparently due to misbehavior and for trying to
remove his cuffs and blindfold.
None of the boys believed this nonsense, something was amiss, and they all
believed it to be the new aid’s fault. The new aid had been put in Taehyung’s
care team and since then Taehyung hadn’t been the same. When he had appeared at
first he had been dazed, the little talking he did ceased completely. This
behavior continued until 4 days ago when he had been incarcerated in his room
due to misbehavior.
Something wasn’t right and the boys planned on helping their friend out of
the situation.

                                       -

The room was big, its owner clearly well-off.
It was silent, except it was not.
Fast uneven breaths resonated within the four walls, accompanied by the
loud banging of the room’s door. Two people were screaming, a man and a woman.
“Son! … door … open it!” a boy was lying in the large bed, shifting between
wakefulness and unconsciousness. His eyebrows were furrowed in distress, his
brown hair glued to his forehead from the sweat.
His bleary eyes opened for a single second before fluttering closed again,
the boy’s cheeks were an unhealthy shade of red, so unlike his pale skin.
“JIN!” the woman’s wail was heard from behind the door. They couldn’t open
it, they couldn’t even touch it. “Do something, dear! Stop this!”
It was hours later with the help of a tactical team equipped to deal with
haywire talents that they were finally able to break through the boy’s
impeccable barrier. The men whispered between them in astonishment upon finding
the boy, the very young 8-year-old boy who was able to keep an able-bodied team
from breaking through his barrier for hours . They only watched as the
parents burst into the room along with the doctor that had been called along
with them.
It was the next day when the boy finally recovered consciousness and was
finally able to hold a conversation without passing out.
“It wouldn’t let us in baby.” the mother explained from where she sat by
his side on the bed, gently swiping his oily hair away from his now-dry
forehead.
“B-But… I didn’t do it!” the boy protested, never having actively practiced
with his talent and even less used it against his parents or anyone else.
“I know, baby. It was because you were very sick, something about you being
very sick triggered the talent’s self-defense.”
The boy just stared speechlessly at his parents before the doctor peeped
from his other side of the bed.
“If I may...” three pairs of eyes turned on the doctor, two tired, the
other terrified. “There’s this project-in-the-making of housing psychic
children in a sort-of orphanage to see if they can be raised and trained to
better control their talents.”
“What are you saying?!” the mother said scandalized.
“Can I join?” the boy asked abruptly, looking serious, and both parents
turned their shocked gazes on the boy.
“What?! Absolutely not!” the mother nearly shrieked.
“But mother, I want to get better with my powers and come back a grown-up
boy to protect you and dad!” the boy replied fiercely.
The mother opened her mouth to protest once again but a firm hand on her
shoulder halted her.
“Let the boy do as he wants. I think it’ll be good.” he explained.
    “Dear! What are you saying!”
“Imagine this happens again, and he’s older and stronger. How long do you
think it would take for a team to get through his barriers then? Days? He could
die.” that shut the mother up, tears welling in her eyes.
    “But...”
“Don’t worry mother! I will grow big and strong. You’ll be proud. Can mom
and dad visit there?” the boy asked, turning to the doctor.
The doctor nodded, smiling when he noticed the fear in the boy’s eyes to
assure him. The boy only replied with a tentative smile, proud his parents had
accepted his request and fearful for what was to come; after all, he loved them
dearly.
***** CHAPTER 4 *****
The 7-year-old traipsed the stone hallways of his big house. Clearly his
family was rich. The decor was very artificial, no personal touch nor from a
woman. The boy lived only with his father, staff and nanny. The man had no time
to raise him so he left it all to the nanny; perhaps that had been the boy’s
salvation to being a human being with emotions so unlike his cold-hearted and
strict father.
He came to a stop as he heard his father’s low chuckle from his office. The
door was ajar so he took a peek in. He wished he hadn’t. Images flashed in his
mind as his talent – only his nanny had knowledge of it and kept it secret –
went haywire.
He held back the bile as awful memories – of young girls close to his age
laying on cement floors, bodies bare, bruised and bloodied as they stared
fearfully at the memory’s owner – became vivid in his mind. His father’s low
chuckles accompanied the memories and made him tremble in terror.
It all came to a close 4 years later.
At 11-years-old the boy had finally had the last of it, he was tired of
keeping a poker face around his father despite knowing his awful hobbies. He
had never mentioned it to any of the staff or even his nanny for fear of what
his father might do to them. S ince that moment he had tried to keep a distance
from them to not get them involved.
“ I told you to go to your room you ungrateful brat!” his father screamed at
him from where he stood his ground in the man’s office.
“No.” was his short brave response despite his body’s trembling.
“What did you say?” the man suddenly said in an icy tone and the boy
unconsciously froze at the tone.
Flashes of the small twin girls with their throats sliced open after adult
men made use of their frail bodies threatened to overwhelm him. It, however,
gave him strength to push the confrontation further, “I said no!”
“Kim Namjoon.” the man warned, standing from his chair and walking from
behind his desk.
“I know all about it.” that caused the man to halt, confused.
   “What?”
“About the little girls.” that brought the man to a stop, breath halted in
his chest in shock.
He seemed to recollect some before talking, “What was that?”
“What you do to them. I saw it.” the boy held his ground bravely.
In a second, the man’s posture changed. Becoming awfully hostile.
“You have a talent don’t you? You’re just like your whore mother! Wanting to
bring me ruin!” it was the screams that brought his nanny running to the office
and the sound of things smashing that attracted the staff, all of them managing
to take the boy from there unharmed.
The boy woke the next day surrounded by an armed team that came to take him
for misusing his talent. No one even asked him why.

                                       -

“Tae-hyung?” Jungkook’s meek voice called out as he knocked lightly on
Taehyung’s bedroom door. The older boys stood behind the 14-year-old in
encouragement.
   Silence.
“TaeTae?” called out Jimin this time, slightly louder. The older boys kept
watch to see if any staff was around.
“Allow me!” called out Hoseok when no reply came from behind the door.
Rummaging in his pants pocket he pulled out a bobby pin.
“Where did you get that?!” whisper-yelled Seokjin, already having a
conniption. They were forbidden from carrying sharp and dangerous objects,
they’d be heavily punished if found with any.
“Have my ways.” grinned Hoseok triumphantly.
All watched as the boy fiddled with the lock, seconds after the door was
opening slowly and teasingly.
Jungkook didn’t wait that long, darting inside speedily.
Taehyung was lying in bed, his arms and legs were bound to it. They crowded
around the sleeping boy.
Namjoon watched him intently before muttering, “Something’s wrong. His
breathing’s too quick.”
“Hyung?” Jungkook shook the older boy’s arm. Nothing. “Hyung?!”
“Hold on.” Yoongi said as he moved towards the boy. He pulled up the younger
boy’s lid and after a second of checking he cursed, “His pupil’s dilated. He’s
been drugged.”
“Drugged?! They never did that to us when we misbehaved!” protested Jimin,
his hands holding tightly onto one of Taehyung’s.
All turned in surprise as they heard the door slam shut, having left it
gaping slightly so they could hear anyone coming.
“And what are you boys doing here?” it was Kwon Sangchol, the new staff
member of Taehyung’s care team. He was glancing at each of the boys with a
calculating gaze that sent shivers down the boys’ backs. “Surely the door was
locked for a reason.”
“Why is he drugged, you shit?” questioned Yoongi, he’d take no bullshit from
some asshole that would do that to one of his friends.
Sangchol lifted an eyebrow in amusement, “Because his talent went haywire
and we had to subdue him.”
“Lies.” claimed Hoseok with a smirk as he threw an arm around Yoongi’s
shoulders, staring fixedly at the aid. The man frowned at him, displeased. “I’m
an Empath, I’d have felt it if a talent had gone haywire in this house.”
“No, you wouldn’t. You have the cuffs.” Sangchol disagreed, scoffing.
“Yes, doesn’t mean they can hold back my talent’s full strength.” Hoseok was
straight-out grinning salaciously now.
Sangchol watched them unnervingly for a few seconds before reaching for his
walkie-talkie.
“No, you don’t.” All gasped as the walkie-talkie flamed in the man’s hand.
He dropped it in shock and pain, mouth gaping as he stared at Yoongi.
“How!” Sangchol screamed at him in rage.
“You really think this piece of shit can hold back our full powers? Wrong.”
Yoongi stated further, raising his hand but Seokjin stopped him with a hand on
his arm.
“Don’t hurt him, it’ll get us in trouble.”
“We’re already in tr-” his complaint was cut off as the alarm started
ringing loudly. “What the hell is this.”
They had never heard the alarm bells ring.
Sangchol leaving the room in a rush and slamming the door behind him
triggered them into action.
“One of you grab Taehyung. We need to get out of here, now.” Namjoon said
seriously as he started untying Taehyung’s binds.
“Will do!” replied Hoseok cheerily. He fiddled for a second with his
nullifying cuffs before they dropped to the floor one by one. All watched
flabbergasted as the boy waved the bobby pin in success.
“The hell, bitch. Should’ve told me you could do that.” growled Yoongi,
glaring at a still-preening Hoseok.
“Why? Never needed to take them off.” shrugged Hoseok.
“Enough, boys! Let’s go!” urged Seokjin as Namjoon helped him slide the
unconscious Taehyung onto his back. Jungkook silently moved near and tangled
his fingers with one of Taehyung’s limp hands, his smaller fingers squeezing
the older one’s gently in worry. It was what they usually did when the other
was having a less-good day, as they liked to call them.
Hoseok quickly helped the boys dispose of their binds, including Taehyung,
before all rushed for the door.
All stopped in their tracks as the door was wrenched open, a woman stood
there in a black leather catsuit. A mask of a black cat covered her face.
   “Hello, boys.”
   Silence.
   Then:
“The fuck is this shit.” from a frowning Yoongi.
They just watched her before all locked into place to protect their
unconscious friend.
“No need for that, dearies. I’m here to get you boys out.”
“What?” was echoed by all 6 of them.

                                       -

In the living room there was a 4-year-old boy with big doe eyes sitting on
the sofa watching his favorite cartoon. It was late and his parents were in the
kitchen finishing washing the dinner’s dishes. Minutes later his mother came
out of the kitchen, calling for him.
   “Bed time, baby.”
“No...” whined the boy, twirling his fingers on his pants as he pouted.
“It’s late, baby. You’ll be grumpy tomorrow if you don’t get your full
sleep.”
“No, Mama! Want to watch!” he whined, pointing to the television.
“Jeon Jungkook. Your mother said no. Bed, now.” his father said sternly
coming out of the kitchen, drying his hands.
That triggered the boy into a major tantrum. His wails and screams were
loud, uninterrupted even when there was a loud bang and lights went out.
Both parents were frozen on their feet, before both rushed to their boy,
worriedly.
“Kookie, you need to stop. Baby!” the mother yelped as she touched the boy,
getting shocked on her fingers. The boy wouldn’t cease his tantrum.
The father looked worriedly out of the window, the whole neighborhood was
dark.
   He approached the boy.
“Jungkook. You need to calm down, son. You hurt Mama.” the father said
calmly, trying to calm the currently-dangerous boy.
The boy stopped his wails, looking at his mother with tear-filled eyes, “I
hurt Mama?”
“It’s okay, baby boy. You didn’t mean it. Are you alright?” the mother asked
worriedly, pulling the boy into her arms and looking at her husband worriedly,
how would they deal with their son’s dangerous talent?
Turns out they needn’t have worried.
Hours later a team was knocking at their door, asking for the boy that
caused the whole neighborhood to short-circuit. Their neighbor had reported it
and the parents were forced to bid farewell to their wailing child, tears
present in their own eyes.

He was sitting at the park again. For the 3 rd time that day.
“Eugh, you reek of beer.” a voice suddenly exclaimed from behind him, he
glanced to the side as a small lithe boy jumped over the back of the bench and
sat next to him, flashing a wide smile his way.
“The fuck you want, stinker.” the boy growled, pushing the beaming boy away
with a growl.
“Why do you smell like beer, Yoongles?”
“Bitch mad old man threw a can at me.” scoffed the grumpy boy, his brow
twitching at the unwanted nickname.
“ Aww, our Yoongles needs his daily dose of sunshine,” the boy states
pointing at himself, “and I know what else!”
The grumpy boy’s expression falters as he watches the other boy rummage
around inside his pants, he knew – for whatever the fuck reason – that the
other boy didn’t wear underwear.
   “What the fuck, disgusting bitch...”
“Huh?” the other boy looks up in askance, dismissing the other’s foul
language, he had long ago gotten used to it. “Ah-ha!” he pulls out his hand and
Yoongi resists the instinct to cover his eyes. “Ta-dah!”
Did this shit just pull a chocolate bar from his pants?
“Did you just pull that shit from your junk?”
Hoseok beams a smile at the bewildered boy, “Yeah! Don’t worry, it’s still
sealed! How do you think I keep food safe from the others’ grubby hands? Duh!”
Yoongi only sighs in despair, why did he have to befriend this piece of
homeless sunshine.
(He’ll forever deny that he had accepted half of that chocolate bar.)

“WELL MAYBE YOU SHOULD QUIT YOUR FUCKING DRINKING ASSHOLE!” Mother.
“AND YOU YOUR FUCKING DRUGS SLUT! WHO DO YOU THINK LED US TO THIS STATE?!”
Father.
“WELL YOU MARRIED THIS JUNKIE SLUT, SO JOKE’S ON YOU! YOU BEER-BELLIED
MOTHERFUCKER. BET IF I STICK MY NEEDLE IN THAT IT’LL POP LIKE A FUCKING TOXIC
BALLOON!” Mother.
And there goes the… what would that be? Kitchen window? Maybe. After all, it
was the only one still left whole. Yoongi sighs in exasperation. Always the
same shit every night. He just hoped they wouldn’t drag him into it.
“YOONGI!” and there goes his mother’s screech.
“What, bitch?” he calls back after she shrieks a second time. He gets up
after he hears no more shrieks. Well, that’s different.
   “Oh.”
His father and mother were going at each other like wild beasts. One with
bloodshot eyes, protruding veins and tits almost jumping off the thin slutty
top she wore, while the other was spitting – well, drooling – and screaming
in rage as he battered something… - a chair leg? - … against the woman. She was
viciously fighting back, scratching at his face and kicking him in the jewels
whenever opportunity surged.
“Really? You couldn’t choose another day for this, fuckers?” he sighed,
exasperated. “ I’m going back to my room. You two kill each other… please. And
don’t drag me into it.” he turned his back on the crazy couple and walked
back to his room.
His head exploded in pain as something collided with it. He held onto it as
he stumbled, his weak 11-year-old legs almost sending him sprawling. His hand
came off the back of his head dyed in red, his blood.
   “Now you did it.”
   He only remembered the rage.
   The hate.
Why did he have to get saddled with parents like these? Had he really been
that bad in a past life?
When he came to he was being held to the floor in front of his burning
house. A special team surrounding him with tranquilizer-darts-loaded guns
pointed at him.
One of the men was the one to address him after he saw the orange vanish
from the boy’s dark orbs. “You back with us, boy?”
   “Fuck you, get me up.”
“I don’t think so, you’re staying down until we get these cuffs on you. You
wouldn’t stay still.”
The grumpy boy huffed, annoyed. “Shitty fuckers...” he muttered, laying his
head down on the cold concrete – wrong – warmed concrete.
“Yah! Yah!” his head lifted up at the noise. He recognized that voice.
“Oh God, just take me.” he groaned in soulful pain. Seriously, was the boy
his shadow or something?
“I wanna go too!” Hoseok grinned, walking beside the bewildered men as they
escorted Yoongi to the van.
“The fuck you saying, retard? Shoo.” Yoongi growled as the men lifted him up
and started leading him to their van.
“No shoooo… Where you go I go, remember? Bros for life, Yoongles!” the boy
grinned as he held out a fist. Yoongi didn’t retribute, just stayed silent as
he was sat in the back of the van. Hoseok willingly jumped in and sat next to
him, leaning against him.
“ Get out, boy. We need to leave now.” one of the men warned.
Hoseok only smiled serenely and replied softly, “I won’t.”
His eyes flashed a gentle soft green, so unlike his natural brown. The men
recognized what it wa s and the doors closed, locking the boys in.
   “ Idiot...”
What went unknown was the fact that one of Yoongi’s bound hands was holding
tightly onto the edge of Hoseok’s ratty shirt, wanting him to stay and not
leave him alone.

                                       -

“So, tell me again. Why are we running?” Namjoon questioned for the nth time
as they followed the woman down the corridor that led to the stairs to the main
entrance. He was rubbing at his red nose, after the poor appendage had
supported his full weight after a nasty trip and fall. Hoseok was trying hard
and failing at containing his gleeful comments of ‘Rudolph the red-nosed
Namjoon’, Jimin’s cute giggles were the only thing preventing him from smacking
the other 16-year-old.
Two men had joined them with cat suits similar to the woman’s, throwing just
a wandering gaze at the boys before establishing a perimeter around them, one
of them was a Shielder like Jin, but weaker, his barrier flickering in certain
spots, weak spots. Jin’s barriers never displayed such weakness.
“Explanations come later. We have to leave before they lock down the place.”
the woman explained between breaths as they started running down the stairs.
Namjoon tripped and that triggered a chain reaction, he gripped onto the
back of Hoseok’s shirt, who in turn threw his arms around Yoongi’s middle
section, which led the latter to collide against a yelping Jimin, who floored a
squeaking Jungkook and since the youngest was still holding onto Taehyung, it
brought also Jin down.
“The fuck, you clumsy Namjoon shit!” protested Yoongi as he stood and rubbed
his knee, having hit one of the stairs.
“Jimin, dear, your hand isn’t in a feel-good place, care to remove it?”
groaned Jin as he sat up, he had tried to minimize his fall as much as possible
so Taehyung wouldn’t get hurt.
“Wah!” pale cheeks turned rosy as Jimin pulled his hand off Jin’s crotch
hurriedly, an ‘oomph!’ sounded behind him before a pained groan followed.
“Man down, man down...” groaned Hoseok as he held onto his crotch painfully,
“Oh my jewels...” unfortunately Jimin’s elbow had sharp aim.
All six boys promptly started bickering, even Jungkook after seeing his
unconscious hyung lying on the floor due to his other hyung’s clumsiness. It
ceased at a groan from said hyung.
“Hyung!” Jungkook was quick to rush to Taehyung’s side. “Hyung!”
“Hn… Kookie? What…?” Taehyung sat up, rubbing his head dizzily.
“TaeTae!” squeaked Jimin, crawling over corpses to reach his best friend.
Pained groans accompanied his progress, the other boys not having yet untangled
from the bottom of the stairs.
“What is going on...?” Taehyung’s eyes slowly widened in alert. He took in
everything happening. The alarm bells, his friends looking frazzled, the lack
of nullifying cuffs on his wrists and…
A chair from the dining room crashed into the wall between the boys and the
woman and her companions.
“Who are you.” it wasn’t a question, it was a demand. Taehyung didn’t
recognize them and clearly the alarm bells were ringing for a reason.
Another chair flew, this time towards the woman. It was stopped by a
barrier, barely. Taehyung’s eyes briefly flew to Seokjin but the older boy
shook his head. It wasn’t his doing. He saw Seokjin’s lips parting but whatever
he was going to say was interrupted by the woman.
“We’re not the enemy, Taehyung. We’ve come here to help you boys.” the woman
with the cat mask explained. Taehyung eyed her distrustfully. Fingers slipping
between his own dragged his attention from the woman.
“She’s helping us, hyung. They were hurting you! Let’s go, please.” the
younger pleaded with those shiny doe eyes Taehyung adored. The others supported
the youngest’s claims and Taehyung finally relented and the men dropped their
barriers when the hostile gaze disappeared.
“C’mon, kid. Get up.” Yoongi grumbled, stepping close and kicking gently at
Taehyung’s leg. Taehyung smiled softly at his hyung before trying to stand.
Apparently the drugs were keeping him from being able to stand alone on his own
two feet and Seokjin and Namjoon immediately stepped in to help. Everyone eyed
Namjoon distrustfully before the latter rolled his eyes and switched places
with Hoseok.
Their progress wasn’t slow, but it wasn’t fast either. Apparently the woman
wanted them to leave through the back door that led to the fenced backyard they
rarely were allowed in.

                                       -

“ Mama, where are we going?” the small 8-year-old boy questioned his
mother as the woman led him towards the only bathroom in their house.
“Quiet. Mama’s going to make everything better.” the woman whisper ed eerily
at the boy, never turning to face him.
   “Mama… ?”
“I SAID QUIET!” the woman suddenly screamed, turning around and staring
furiously at the small boy. His c h ubby cheeks turned wet with fearful tears.
The leading turned to a full-on dragging, the boy wailing the whole way.
   “Mama, you’re hurting me!”
She pushed him inside the bathroom and locked the door once she entered too.
He looked at the tub, it was full of water.
“Are we taking a bath together, mama?” he asked fearfully as the woman
turned to him and took hold of his wrist once again, leading him to the tub.
“I’m sending you to Papa, Jiminie. He’ll take good care of you. Mama can’t
anymore.”
“B-But mama… Papa is-” his words were drowned in the tub as the woman shoved
him into the tub and held his head down.
His shock lost him a few precious seconds before he felt air running short
and immediately started to struggle. His small hands clawed at his mother’s
arms as the woman held him down.
   Everything was blurry.
Her face was shadowed, her hair loose and falling down around her face,
obscuring her expression.
He couldn’t get free, she wouldn’t let him go. She would kill him with those
cold tight gripping hands of hers.
It was as his last breath left him that the woman lifted her head slightly
and light revealed her previously hidden expression.
   She was smiling.
   Maniacally.
The terror snapped something inside Jimin.
When he came aware, someone was kneeling over him, talking to him, he
couldn’t hear the man. A paramedic?
His head tilted to the side, even dazed he recognized his mother’s long
black skirt. Two men were with her, well, pulling her out of the water.
The woman had drowned, in her tub.
She had been kneeling by the tub, head and arms submerged, her mouth and
eyes left gaping widely in death as if in shock and terror.
Jimin would never forget the sight of his mother’s drowned corpse kneeling
into the bathtub. Had he done that?

He had been tidying up his bed when it happened.
The street door slammed open and in came the devil. Almost.
   “YOU WHORE.”
His older sister’s scream triggered him into action, barging out of his room
into a familiar situation.
His father was standing before his fallen sister, her bare knees skinned.
“But father! I have dated him for two years!” his older sister protested and
he winced. Guess their father had finally found out.
He was left aghast suddenly as he witnessed his father just snap.
He was beating his sister ferociously, this man, this beast, harming his
beloved sister.
“Stop! Father!” he protested, diving in to protect his sobbing sister. Not
that his 6-year-old body offered much protection.
Screams left both their mouths as the kicks landed heavier. A wail left his
throat as he was kicked away from his sister.
He yelped as his head hit the floor, going momentarily dizzy.
His sister’s screams picked up in volume. He lifted his head drowsily and
his mouth gaped in horror. His father was straddling his sister and delivering
punch after punch on her previously-beautiful face.
“NO! STOP!” he latched onto one of the man’s arms. Uselessly. He was thrown
back by sheer brutal strength.
His father’s bloodshot eyes turned to him.
“You stay there. You’re next, you fucking disrespectful pest.”
Something snapped in him as his father turned and dealt a final punch to his
sister’s throat. A broken sound left her mouth and choking noises filled the
air along with his father’s heavy breathing.
Terror and hate filled him as his father stood and turned to him, fists
dripping with his sister’s blood.
“You’ve been a bad boy, Taehyung.”
   It was merely a thought.
   But it was enough.
The cupboards and drawers in the kitchen in his line of sight slammed open
and as his father turned in surprise towards the kitchen, multiple knives
slammed into his torso.
Time halted for a second before his father’s body dropped.
   “You little shit...”
He watched him take laborious breaths before they ceased, his evil eyes
staring at nothing.
His sister’s whimpers snapped him out of the shock and he hurried towards
her.
“Noona! Noona...” fat tears welled in his eyes as she stared at him
desperately pointing to the house phone.
Before he could make a move toward it a scream pierced the bizarre moment.
It was their neighbor, Mrs. Kim. She was already on the phone.

Minutes later he was struggling as men in uniforms tried to pry him away
from his sister.
“NO!” all went slamming against the walls.
He held tightly onto her, her hand holding tightly onto his in return as she
watched in horror and pain.
“Subdue him.” one of the men said.
He was knocked onto the floor, two men on top of him. He wailed and
screamed, but cuffs were being slapped onto his wrists and some kinda cloth was
wrapped around his head, blocking his vision.
His loud wails echoed throughout the decrepit building as his sister was
taken away to the hospital and him to a van, restrained.
He would later be told she had passed away in the ambulance.
There was nothing left for him in this rotten world.

                                       -

   They should have guessed.
   They really should have guessed.
“And where do you boys think you’re going?” all turned at the sound of Kwon
Sangchol’s voice. The man stood at the end of corridor, near the stairs they
had come down from, accompanied by men with black masks on, probably security.
Freedom was a few steps away in the door in front of them, but they couldn’t
afford turning their backs to the man.
“Should’ve burned the shit to a crisp.” muttered Yoongi evilly while
throwing a resentful glance at Seokjin who only rolled his eyes.
“Go out boys, we’ll be right there. We have a van waiting.” the woman told
them and moved to shield their way out together with the two other men.
The boys needed no further encouragement, Seokjin and Namjoon urged them
along.
They dart out of the door and come to a stop, trying not to trip over the
three steps that led to the grassy backyard.
Of course Namjoon had to ruin it though.
And there went the seven of them flying down the three steps, Yoongi and
Hoseok taking the brunt of the weight since they had been at the front.
All six started bickering once again while the seventh burst into pained
whimpers, “Ow, ow, ow...” that ceased all bickering once again.
“TaeTae? What’s the matter?!” Jimin asked worriedly. Taehyung was kneeling
on the ground holding onto his left side.
“Hyung? Hyung! Let me see!” whined Jungkook as he tried to pull up the older
one’s shirt. All gasped at the sight. Ugly dark bruises scattered the boy’s
tanned torso as if he had been beaten repeatedly and not have time to heal
before more bruises were dealt.
“I guess the drugs wore off...” chuckled Taehyung dryly, trying to ease the
mood. He didn’t like seeing Jungkook and Jimin wearing such dismayed looks.
“What have those fucks done to you!” yelled an enraged Yoongi, “I’m gonna
burn every last shit in this building.” he stated, standing and turning to head
back in.
His march was halted by a body dropping from an upper floor, landing between
him and the steps.
Various screams echoed as they recognized the Caretaker’s corpse. His body
was misshapen, his head twisted around and his blank eyes stared at them, a
gaping hole between them.
Yoongi froze on the spot, bewildered. Hoseok was standing behind him in
shock, his hand still stretched out from when he had tried to reach for Yoongi
to halt him. Seokjin and Namjoon had both reached for Jimin – who was nearest
to them – to block his vision, unsuccessfully. The boy lay shaking in their
arms as fat tears fell down his cheeks to wet their shirts. Taehyung had
slammed a hand on Jungkook’s eyes – driving a pained yelp from the latter – as
the boy had turned his head back to the house to investigate the awful noise of
bone breaking upon shock.
“Don’t look, Kookie.” Taehyung urged as the younger boy latched onto his
trembling arm.
“What’s going on, hyung?” asked Jungkook fearfully, his hands locking
tightly onto the older boy’s shirt sleeves.
   “It’s the Caretaker. He’s dead. Still… don’t look.”
The woman and her two companions running out the back door brought their
shocked silence into a halt.
The woman stared at the corpse before her and muttered, “Damn it. So soon?”
before turning to the shocked children, “Let’s go boys. They’re in pursuit!”
All stood, running after her. Yoongi and Hoseok at the front, Seokjin and
Namjoon each holding onto one of Jimin’s hands and Taehyung keeping a tight
grasp on Jungkook’s smaller hand as the two ran side by side, the youngest
glancing worriedly at him due to his pained breaths.
   It took only a second.
The others were passing through a hole in the fence into the waiting van,
Seokjin, Taehyung, Jungkook and the woman and her men still inside.
   A loud shot rang out.
Taehyung only felt the hand in his go heavy, then limp.
His wide eyes stared unseeingly before slowly turning to the side and down.
   Down where Jungkook lay dead/unconscious.
That moment would become known in history as an awful terrorist attack. Some
half-arsed explanation fed to the media to throw gazes away from the problem.
Taehyung only turned in silent rage and grief, his eyes honed in on Kwon
Sangchol. His torturer of four days and the man who held the gun.
The sadistic smile on his face held no regret.
   Taehyung would wipe it out.
Taehyung’s eyes turned pitch black, the white vanishing under the flooding
black.
Minutes later the orphanage was in shambles, in its previous place an empty
crater, explosions going off from the kitchen gas pipes. Nearby buildings had
been crushed too and the orphanage’s backyard was a manslaughter. Body parts
strewn around as the men had been shredded apart mercilessly just from the
power of thought.
It was a shaking Seokjin that helped the woman carry an unconscious Taehyung
through the fence into the waiting arms of their terrified friends, while the
other two men carried Jungkook’s body.
Only smoke was left behind as a sign that they had ever been there.

Both the woman and the man watched the computer screen intensely.

“Why don’t you just hand over their files?” the man with the black mask
stood on one side of the desk, his arm stretched out, pointing a gun at the
calm man sitting on his chair on the opposite side of the desk.
“I would never. You have no right over those boys’ lives’.” Gu Seo-Joon was
a fierce man, a Normal – meaning he wielded no talent – but a very brave one.
“Pity.” the gun went off, in the split-second after surged a hole in the
man’s forehead as his body was thrown backwards from the force of the shot.
The man in black then rounded the desk and took hold of the Caretaker’s
arm, dragging him to a far corner where the safe lay hidden. A reading from his
right hand and his left eye was enough to unlock it, no pass-code needed. The
man’s relaxed stance stiffened all over as he perused the safe’s contents.
    It was empty.
In a rage he threw the Caretaker’s corpse, it flew through the window, down
to the backyard. Screams accompanied the loud thud of the body meeting the
ground.
“Fucker disposed of their files.” muttered the man, enraged, before
stomping out of the office in fury.

“Seo-Joon performed his duty well. He will be honored.” the man stated, his
voice saddened.
“He protected the boys’ identities, got rid of their files, both in paper
and in the database. They’re virtually unknown now.” the woman informed, her
name was Tan Aeri. She wore a black catsuit, her face however was bare, the man
knew her identity anyway so there was no need for it.
“I trust you took good care of the boys?” the man asked, he had been
notified of the events proceeding their escape.
“Of course, sir. I’m keeping them temporarily in House 7 with a few of my
men keeping watch for any unnecessary visitors, but it’s one of the safest
houses, so there’s no worries. The 15-year-old recovered quickly after I had
Yoojung treat his injuries and give him nourishment to regain his energy and
the 13-year-old’s life is no longer in danger, Yoojung managed to extract the
bullet from his left shoulder and close the wound with no damage left, the only
problem had been the blood-loss but the other boys who were compatible had
quickly stepped in and offered their own.”
“I see, I’m glad.” the man’s smile was genuine. He had watched over the boys
for years and finally they were under his protection, their identities kept
safe and secret from unwanted people.

It was a week later when they finally got to meet the boss. All seven were
ushered into the heavily-protected office, their blindfolds then removed.
Hoseok was eagerly taking in everything with a wide excited smile.
Yoongi was grumpily glaring, trying to get his vision back to normal.
Jimin was blinking owlishly, his small hand holding tight onto the back of
Yoongi’s baggy shirt.
Namjoon was watching the man sitting behind the desk calculatingly.
Seokjin just gazed longingly at the desk in the far corner displaying snacks
while Taehyung and a still-recovering Jungkook leaned into each other, ever-
protective of each other.
Jungkook threw a shy smile at Taehyung in reassurance that he was alright
after he had winced at a particularly sharp pain in his shoulder. The latter
gave him a boxy one in return after making completely sure the youngest was
feeling well. Freedom did him good, real good. These past weeks Taehyung had
been coming out more of his shell than all those years he had been at the
orphanage.
The attention of all seven zeroed in on the man behind the desk as he spoke.
“Hello, boys. I’m Bang Shi Hyuk... and I’m the leader of KINESIS.”
