Everything has a beginning January 7th Year 202M2021 B.C. After the incident at my last school my parents have decided to send me to a new school, in a different town. This school is the only one that would take me on such short notice. The town's name is Volcaldera Bluffs. A place I have never heard of before, but it would seem that my parents had no qualms about sending me off on my own. They warned me that Volcaldera Bluffs would be different because it is a predominantly dino area. These dinos, I have heard of them and seen them on the internet before. I thought it was all people in costumes. It never even occurred to me for a moment that the town of Seminole in Texas was a place that still practiced segregation. It would explain though why I never saw a single dino walking around town or at my school Seminole High School. Talk about an original and creative name, but that's what you can expect from a small town in Texas. My parents couldn't afford a plane so they decided the next best thing would be to send me by bus. * Ding * "Last stop Volcaldera Bluffs transit station, I repeat last stop Volcaldera Bluffs transit station." The bus driver's voice over the intercom wakes me from my nap on the bus. "Well guess this is where I get off then." As I get up and walk to the front of the bus I can't help but pause for a moment when I see the driver. He is an older gentleman with gray hair and golden eyes. He also has green….. scales? At some point the bus driver had changed from a human to a dino. I guess the swap must have happened while I was out like a light. "Something wrong young man?" The bus driver noticed that I was standing there not moving. "Uh ... no sir, just didn't realize the driver had changed while I was asleep and also its my first time seeing a dino in person." Seeing my nervousness the driver lets out a hearty laugh. "Haaaaahahahaha no fooling, what did they not have any dinos where you lived kid?!" The driver was spot on with his guess, although I'm sure he was just kidding around. "Nope there wasn't a single dino back in Seminole as far as I could tell." "Well you better high tail it out of here kid, this bus is out of service now and I wanna head home for the day." He gave me a surprisingly warm looking smile after saying that. "Of course sorry for keeping you and taking so long to get off the bus." "Ah don't worry about it kid just stay out of trouble alright." I waved to the driver as I exited the bus. Even though I never caught his name he didn't seem that bad for a dino, wait ... now that I think about it I don't even know what kind of dino he even was. As my eyes take in the surroundings I am greeted by a sight that although expected, is still surprising. Everywhere as far as the eye can see are dinos galore. I know my parents told me Volcaldera Bluffs would be dino centered, but I honestly didn't expect to see nothing but dinos. After taking a moment to look around and get my bearings I decide to head inside the transit station and find the closest person, er dino to a receptionist that I can find for information. While I do know where I need to go, which is Volcano High . I do not know how to get there. Looking around I spot a red and black scaled dino on the smaller side, if my crash course studies don't fail me I believe they are an oviraptor. Walking up to their desk I decide to ignore the feeling of uneasiness growing in my gut and ask for assistance. "Excuse me, is this where I can get some information?" The small dino looked up from their station, with a face that tells all too well how tired they are. "Yeah yeah, what do you want, kid?" They spoke with such a tone that gave me every indication that they don't care who I am or what I need, they simply want me to leave as soon as possible. "I just arrived in town today and need to get to Volcano High, can you tell me how I can get there please?" I ask with a smile and all the sincerity I can muster at the moment. The small dino looked at me annoyed, as if I was an idiot for not knowing how to get to the high school. "OK fine, just head back outside and take bus D-A, ride it long enough and it will eventually drop you off at the bus stop near the high school." "Thank you for the help uh….?" "It's Michel, Michel J. Fauker." "Thank you Michel." As I head back outside to hopefully find the bus I need I can't help but think what an odd experience that was. Despite their tone, build, and appearance I could not tell Michel's gender at all. I think I will need to study up on dino biology more because not being able to identify someone's gender is not something I am used to. Having successfully found and boarded bus D-A I can't help but feel a little bit excited. After all this is a new town, a new life, with new chances and opportunities for me to experience. Not to mention I can hopefully make friends with some actual dinos and not people pretending to be dinos online again. I just hope despite the fact that I am seeing a lack of people, er humans, that I won't be the only human at Volcano High. I can just imagine how awkward that would be. The ride on Volcaldera Bluff's transit buses is surprisingly nice and comfy unlike the buses down in Seminole. *Ding* "Next stop Volcano High, I repeat Volcano High." Oh good this is my stop. This bus ride may not have been long, but I certainly enjoyed it nonetheless. I pull the cord signaling for the bus to stop and promptly thank and wave to the driver as I make my way off the bus. After getting off the bus I take a moment to breathe in the air and take in the surroundings sights. I can smell the salt on the wind from the nearby ocean. The school is situated on top of a hill with a decently large staircase leading up to the front entrance. At the start of the stairs is a large gateway with the words Volcano High written on it. Lining several places long the outside walls of the school I notice various forms of vegetation, possibly for decoration or tall herbivores. As I climb the steps the wind carries a faint smell of fresh flowers to my nose. While I am unfamiliar with flowers, their pleasant scent helps brighten my day up just a little. Once I find myself at the top of the stairs I stop at the front entrance. Here is where my life will change. Here is where everything for me… will have a new beginning.
