Title: Sandcastle Status: Complete Characters: Anon, Lucy, Amber Rating: SFW Classification: One-Shot Author: AirconWater Summary: Lucy and Amber have fun on the beach... until disaster strikes. The breeze blows softly across the beach, the setting sun still providing comfortable warmth from the horizon. The sound of chatter and seabirds fills the air around me as I sit and watch my daughter play in the sand. I can hear her laughter from across the beach as she watches the sandcastle her mother made slowly tip over. As Lucy returns to Amber's side with a bucket of wet sand she stops, noticing the now toppling castle. She puts her hands on the sides of her head and lets out a cry as the structure collapses. Amber looks up at her mom and bursts out laughing at the sight of her expression. “What are you laughing at!? My castle is in RUINS!” Lucy yells, causing Amber to screech with laughter. “How could you be so heartless you little monster!” I let out a chuckle and rise from my seat, grabbing our bag and walking over to the noisy pair of Pteros. “What happened?” I feign distress as I approach the scene of the disaster. “This little goblin destroyed my sand castle!” “NUH UH! IT FELL!” “I don’t believe you! Amber would never do such a thing!” Amber stands up and joins my side, sticking her tongue out at her mother. Lucy flairs her wings out and gasps. “No! You can’t believe her! She’s rotten!” It’s Ambers' turn to be surprised. She lets out a gasp at her mothers' words, turning to me with a shocked expression which quickly turns into a devilish grin. “She’s mean Daddy, go beat her up!” I nod and set the bag down, Lucy puts her hands up and starts backing away. “WAIT WAIT WAIT! YOU CAN’T TRUST HER!” I step over the castle and prepare to “beat up” my wife in the name of my daughter. Lucy finally raises her arms in the air and surrenders. “Alright! I’ve learned my lesson! I won’t be mean anymore!” “Good.” I say as Amber walks up and hugs Lucy. Lucy grabs her hand and walks over to the bag, which I snatch before she can grab it. “Hmph” Lucy gives me a pout. I turn and look at both of them, Amber is visibly tired, letting out a yawn. Lucy stares back at me with a big smile on her face. “Whatcha lookin at dweeb?” She asks. “I’m looking at a beautiful sandcastle queen and a little castle-destroying goblin.” “HUH?” Amber yells, fully awake now that I’ve turned on her. Lucy snorts as she tries to hold back laughter, while Amber glances between us with a look of shock on her face. As we walk back to the car I’m berated with accusations of mutiny. I buckle Amber in and she sticks her tongue out at me, I simply smile and shut the door. I open the driver's door and hop in, looking to my right I notice Lucy staring. “Something wrong?” I ask. “Cmere” She pulls me in for a hug and a kiss, resulting in the resident poopy-pants groaning in the backseat. Lucy dons an evil smirk and turns to Amber. “Something wrong goblin?” She asks in a sweet voice. I let out a chuckle as they start arguing, the smaller ptero clearly taking offense to the name-calling. As we make our way back home I glance in the mirror, Amber sleeps silently in her seat. I look over at Lucy, she’s staring out the passenger window. I move my hand over and grab hers. She smiles and turns to me. “I love you.” “I love you too, sweet tooth.”
