Title: Reunions Status: Complete Characters: Anon, Fang, Samantha, Ripley Rating: SFW Classification: One Shot Author: P.M. >Anon arranged the meeting with Fang and her parents >He somehow avoided getting murdered by them by providing them with updates on how Fang was doing >He rings the doorbell, it's melodious call alerting those inside to action >Fang's nerves are frayed, the uncertainty of what to expect from her parents wearing away at them >An excited voice echoes out from behind the door, footsteps sounding out from the wooden framework of the building >As the door opens, Fang loses her composure and hides behind Anon >Samantha is the one who answers the door, giving Anon a warm greeting. >Fang's wings, still not quite regrown to their original splendor, poke out from behind him, betraying her presence >Samantha makes her way around Anon, finally catching sight of her long-lost daughter in the flesh >Fang is wrapped up in a cocoon of her wings, she can't bear to have her mother see her >Yet, Samantha is not deterred. She calls out to her wayward daughter, in the softest voice imaginable, as if Fang would shatter to dust and blow away if she didn't. >Fangs wings bristle with her mother's voice, before slowly parting, revealing herself, her glassy eyes ready to spill forth at any moment >Samantha sobs out as she finally sees her daughter in the flesh, as she slowly reaches out and embraces Fang >Fang emotions run wild, the comforting hug from her mother sending tremors down through her legs, before she returns the embrace. >The dam finally bursts, as Fang's howling sobs echo through the block >Fang can't hold herself upright any longer, her legs give out as her weight shifts onto her mother, joining her in cathartic release >Samantha holds on tight as she guides the both of them safely down to the ground >Fang holds out a hand to Anon, who grasps it before bringing the interlocked hands to his heart, in hopes that Fang could find a familiar anchor to the world in his beating heart >The emotional whirlwind eventually dies down, leaving 2 emotionally exhausted pteros in its wake >But that was not the end of it, Samantha motions for them to move into the house, where the there was one more to meet >The three enter the house, the door closing softly behind them, the warm amber lights inside illuminating a familiar domicile >Ridley stands there, his back to them, his shoulder leaned on the kitchen door frame, his chest rising and falling with long breaths of air as if to steady himself >Samantha silently excuses herself from Fang and Anon before moving to Ridley's side and grabbing hold of one of his free hands. A worldless conversation befalls the both of them, before Samantha guides Ripley back to them >Ripley can't bring himself to look at them, his head and eyes tracking his couch instead, as Samantha brings him to stand before his daughter >The house lighting betrayed his stoicism, as the wet trails marked into his visage were reflected back to Fang >Anon gives Fang his own quiet reassurances, as she places herself in front of her father >The charged atmosphere between the two offers no passage, with Ripley being unable to bring himself to make eye contact with his daughter. >Samantha begins to move, her displeasure at Ripley marking her face, when the unexpected happens >Fang crosses that invisible threshold, her arms circling around her father, offering unspoken forgiveness >A moment passes before Ripley finally registers what is happening. His shoulders shook with wet unsteady breaths, the moist tracks on his face being renewed once more with tears >He bows his head over his daughter, his massive arms finally reciprocating the embrace >The two of them stay locked like that, as the world slowly passes them by >A tone rings out from the kitchen, breaking the both of them out of their trance >Samantha notifies everyone that dinner will be ready in a few short minutes, and to make their way to the dinner table >Ripley gives his daughter an emotional smile, one that Anon could hardly believe came from the rugged patriarch, before he turns around to make his way to the table >Fang then turns around to face Anon once more, her mascara having lost the battle, running down her face with unsaid emotions >But, her beaming face could only be rivaled by what Anon had seen on that rooftop, years ago. >She wraps Anon up in a hug, her wings assisting the move, as the both of them sway side to side, the moment of catharsis resolving >The moment wouldn't last too long, however, as Samantha called out to them once more. Dinner was ready >The embrace still took its time to finish, Anon and Fang opting to link a pair of hands together, their fingers intertwining, as they moved into the kitchen >The night was yet young, and there was plenty more for everyone to catch up on
