I took one step, “Fang. I–” A loud snap was heard, and pain similar to a raging fire shot up my left leg as I fell. I hit the concrete hard. I managed to look up at Fang. She looked panicked as she threw the gun away.

“No, no, no-” She kept muttering to herself as she kept stepping away from me. Closer and closer to the edge. I have to stop her. I crawled with all my strength to her. I was smearing blood on the roof as I went.

“Fang, please…” Her boot hit the lip of the edge. She looked over, seeing the concrete below. She instinctually braced herself on the chain-linked fence. She was prepared to jump. There wasn’t anything I could do. She looked committed. I just needed to do one thing. “Fang?” Her head jerked up. She looked at me, still braced to jump. I smile, “Do a flip.”

Fang’s eyes widened with surprise. Then she smiled, the softest smile to ever grace her face. “Sure, Dweeb.” She immediately jumped off the roof, doing the most flawless somersault I’ve ever seen.

A few seconds later, I heard the cracking of her skull being crushed on the concrete. “Atta, girl.” Then I died with a smile on my face.
