Title: Night Drive to Nowhere Status: Complete Characters: Naser Rating: SFW Classification: One-Shot Author: hyi Summary: Naser goes on a night-time drive to clear his mind. [PRE-NOTES] ive written a lot of naser stuff recently and im really liking it exploring his character and his feelings is nice [/PRE-NOTES] Ahh…finally the weekend. Finally time for my weekly roadtrip to nowhere. Shoving my keys and phone in my pocket, I stride down the steps into the dining room, where Mom is busy reading one of her books. A quick look at the clock on the stove tells me it's almost nine o'clock. "Hey, mom. I'm gonna go meet with some friends for a bit, okay?" "Alright, sweetheart! Remember to try and get back before midnight, okay Naser?" I grunt my confirmation, and stride towards the door. Dad's busy watching another one of his cop documentaries, but I'm pretty sure he heard where I was going. As I go to unlock the front door, I look to him sitting in his chair in the living room, and he gives a little nod. Good. The night air is chilly, good thing I put a jacket on. As I unlock the NasCar with the fob, the indicator lights flick on for a brief second, and a quiet chime plays. Popping the driver's side door open, I climb in and pull the door shut. The faux leather of the driver's seat is ripped and faded in many places. The steering wheel almost rubbed down to the plastic, the stitched leather worn down over years of driving…This car has been through a lot. I glance at the bullet hole and surrounding cracks in the windshield and chuckle to myself. Yeah, it's been through A LOT. But I wouldn't trade it for anything. It's like my kid at this point. This car has been with me throughout high school, and now I'm graduating in a few months. Starting a new chapter in my life. Turning the key in the ignition, the engine comes to life with a low rumble. The dash lights up, indicators slowly moving up the tachometer before dropping back down to their resting positions. Might need an oil change soon. "Alright, girl…Where to tonight?" I ask the steering wheel, almost waiting for a reply. I think some highway driving is in order to clear my mind. I whip out my phone and turn on Blueclaw. It almost instantaneously connects to the entertainment system I installed in place of the radio, and I make sure to turn the volume knob down so I don't wake up half the neighborhood before I start playing some music. Juice, or some Kanye…I can't decide, so I just shuffle my playlist. I shift the car into reverse and carefully creep out of the driveway, making extra sure I don't hit the mailbox again, and set out to the nearest onramp.
