>>68553815>We pull off and head out. We've got a dinner date tonight. Local place that mom and dad have drug me to a few times. It's quite nice on both the stomach and wallet. No qualms here.>Janet cranks the radio, blasting some indie rock. Something we both enjoy greatly. My nerves almost completely gone by the time we pull into the place. >It's Janet. I have to keep up appearances around pretty much everyone but her. Why was I ever worried?>I hop out and meet her at the front of her van. I find her hand snaked into mine. I'm filled with calm. This'll go great.>I'm not wrong. The place is decently filled but at the same time not uproariously loud. We do need to speak up a bit to hear each other but it's worth it. Stories about the family, small talk and joking. Same as we always do just more.>As we're winding down post meal Janet addresses my outfit, again.>"You know you clean up rather well?" I feel a touch of blush across my face. >"Oh cmon." I wave it off.>"No, really. you pull that look off really well. Makes me feel a little bad about not dressing up myself. Maybe next time." The prospect of another go lights my insides aflame.>"S-Sure." I stammer out. Janet and I share a wide smile before rising to leave. It only dawns on me now exactly how much I'd put away tonight. Worth it.>We waddle on back to the van but Janet stops at the front, waiting for me.>As I approach she locks eyes. A sparkle in them sets the mood. Oh. Oh boy.>I pray I don't misread it, pray that it's the time. She answers them by leaning into me. We kiss. It's not practiced nor very long but it's way more than enough.>I pull away and she speaks, smiling. "Next time let's just call a range day a date, yeah?" >I almost keel over laughing. Nothing's changed or new. We've been doing pretty much this for months now. I have to wipe a tear out of my eyes and agree.>"Anytime."Fin. Off now. Was fun /snoot/
