>"Hey kid you might really have something, here." LJ points a clawed finger to the page.
>"Yeah this is neat. Flow's great." he taps on his leg a few times rhythmically, nodding in time.
>I get a thumbs up from the pink guy.
>Trent looks up between us.
>"Oh right, that's Curtis. He doesn't speak much, raspy voice."
>"Pros of being a hybrid." Curtis' voice is sandpapery and rough. He gives me a thumbs up and smirk.
>I nod to him. From what I hear it's like gargling gravel. I look back to LJ who's nodding along with Trent.
>"A little editing and you're golden. You really new to this?" I nod at her
>"Well looks like I'll be picking you up, then. We cool with this?" I confusedly look around. I thought I was just here to be picked over. What does she mean by "Picking me up?"
>Nick notices and chimes in. "Oh LJ runs this place." I look to LJ, she nods. Bar with a stage, huh? Cool place.
>"I need people on hand constantly to keep new blood flowing. Be it managers, stage hands you name it."
>"But...writing?"
>"You'll mostly be a bartender but when new bands need some push in the songwriting department I need someone who can ring for them." Not just any sort of writer but... a teacher?
>I'm taken aback.
>"Look you're new I get it but it doesn't take much to get settled." I blink at her insistence.
>"Hey you're one for one so far, yeah?" I look to Trent who's sliding me my little notebook back.
>"I... don't know what to say."
>"Try, "yes". Usually a nice word." LJ fires me a wide toothy smile.
>Well it beats the hell out of homelessness so I have no reason to say no.
>"Alright, sure. Why not?" A cheer from the group.
>"A toast!" Nick raises her glass and the table quickly matches her. I'm the slowest to adopt the toast. A clink and we all take a drink.
Fin, strange-ish direction. Last for now again. Night /snoot/
