>>68884253>His voice stern and fatherly."I need you to promise me you'll be good to her. I'm sure I don't need to tell you what happens if you break that promise." I feel sweat drip down my back. I nod and do as instructed.>"Yes sir." He's given a slap on the shoulder.>Naomi's mom speaks, chiding him. "Tony lay off the boy. Anon, right?" She turns to smile at me as Tony leans back sighing. "Cassandra." She offers a handshake.>"Tony." Grumbles Naomi's father.>Cassandra pushes on. "It's good to see her so lively again. Was worried there for a bit but she bounced back wonderfully, right Tony?">He can't brush that one off. He lightens up slightly. "That she has." He softens his gaze slightly and speaks at me again, this time much less serious.>"As long as she's happy, we're happy. Good to meet you, Anon." He offers his hand now as well. Another shake and I feel a sense of ease. Reasonable people if not a bit worried about their daughter. Cassandra chimes in now.>"Feel free to swing by any time. It was good to talk to you." I nod as they seem to be letting me go.>Standing I walk outside, another updraft keeping my heart afloat. As I close the front door my phone rings, Naomi texting to make sure they didn't cause me problems. I smile at her fretting and text back letting her know that they were nice to talk to, just trying to make sure I'm on the same level.>Bubbling inside I start home. A sort of yearning still inside me. I wonder if what my parents would think of her. If they were here. I stare at their contacts in my phone a while. Maybe eventually.Fin, back for morning requests in a bit, was fun /snoot/. Reminder I'm swapping to mornings for about a week before going back to normal afternoon times.
