For colouring I wanted a simple background, so as to not distract from the character.  A silhouetted mountain range worked nicely for that, and the centered sun helped make a cool symmetry for the pic.  For his colours I went with black, white, and gold, as his cat type was panther, and the gold made for sweet accents (especially his mane and pubic hair!).  Purple for his loincloth, as it goes well with the other colours, smacks of royalty (a nice contrast to the general air of the character), and is my favorite colour :)
