This was done when I was still refining the way I depicted my gryphons.  Only a couple things have changed since this piece: one, instead of standard paws, I've changed them to claws/talons, and put a cuff of hair on their forearm; two, I don't always still draw the mane going around their neck, it's become a much rarer thing that I add on.
