So, I'm doing a small redesign for Pivot. It's not huge changes, but some things of note:

• Bang change. This has given me trouble visualizing in 3D space, so I made it into two segments. This is a bit closer overall to its original shape when she was first conceived, but the two segment approach makes this easier to model.
• Sharper angles overall. This is more a general style change.
• More exposed joints.
• Shorter / more tamed ponytail. Also has a sharp swoosh on the inside now for more 'edge' to the design.
• New foot deign, more like shoes.
• Arms are now flush--rather than bulbous megaman arms, they're more streamlined, with a smooth path when extended, or a sharp angle when bent.
• For the breaker fists, I'm still redesigning them. Still taking notes from Big O. Finally have a design I think I like.
• Conceptualizing a new outfit too that's a bit more sensible. Still has the office vibe. Probably gonna do a few other outfits through chapter 8.

ANYWAY, that aside, there's also two sketches of Stocking I did. Cause I felt like it. Very NSFW, check downloads.

For the tutorials I walk throw reanimating a scene from Hiro the Dense. It looks so much more alive in the reanimated version--that's the difference between spending a few hours on something versus just 10 minutes, lmao.

I'm changing up how I handle nominations and polls. There were a lot of complications last month with nominations--the process from the start has been a bit messy, and engagement was low. (Only wound up with 6 options and 100% of them were OCs--not that I'm against drawing OCs, but it'd make the poll feel a bit... stacked, and would leave people unhappy.)

I also don't want my own OCs to dominate polls. SO, a few things that I'll do differently:

• From here out, all poll options will be fanart
• There is no more nomination process; instead I choose the entrants myself, from things people suggest.
• Everyone can suggest characters in the comments of polls and "like" other peoples' suggestions. $10+ patrons get a bit extra consideration with this process.
• Polls are still 4 characters, and also include a question for themes and ideas

For the first month, I had to choose the characters myself, so I went with some more iconic options I've drawn in the past. The options are Stocking, Curly Brace, Etna, and Shantae! Next month will be based on suggestions!

So, just to give a little rundown on my current schedule and life stuff:

• Currently I'm about 60-70% done with my video contract, for 4-5 videos. 2 videos are totally done, one is halfway done. This has been the big thing keeping me from spending more time in Blender or on my webcomic (but it's been a nice change of pace.) This has been occupying most of my daytime work, while I've been trying to stream in the evenings when available.
• My birthday was yesterday. Was fairly uneventful, all things considered, but if you'd like to see some of the fanart I received, I've retweeted it all to twitter: https://twitter.com/zedrinbutt
• PV02 is still gonna be on hiatus for a bit. I do not want to start chapter 8 until I know that I can finish another project by the time 8 is finished.
• I also need to sit down when I get a moment to really flesh out a lot of worldbuilding in PV02, particularly the aesthetics of the city. There's a lot that bugs me in PV02 that I've been at a loss for how to fix.
• I still have 2 more patreon rewards for this month to tackle. I've hit a very bad rut (partially brought on by the existential dread that comes with a birthday) and I really want to get back to drawing. I plan to stream this Thursday and Friday at https://picarto.tv/Zedrin to get those done, before moving on to other things for this month.
• I plan to stream Saturday to my youtube (though, I'll be honest: I'm out of ideas on what to stream on Youtube, and half the time it's not really art.)
• Cause I've been getting commission requests recently: patrons in the $10 tier are able to commission me. The limits I have: you can get 1 complex or 2 simple pieces per month. My rates and info are here, for those curious.

On a more personal note, my depression has been fluctuating between manageable to very deep. I'll be fine, but it has been really bad as of late which has been periodically killing my will to work on things. (On top of the usual insecurities, my girlfriend was supposed to come visit this month, but that fell through due to COVID.)

This month I plan to wrap up most of my contract work with Celsys. I have roughly 3 more videos to make for them, each one will take maybe 1-2 weeks for me.

I was originally going to start chapter 8 of PV02 this month, right before my birthday, but there's something I absolutely want to make sure I can finish by the time chapter 8 closes. Personal life events have also made it harder to work on the comic and everything. With everything going on, PV02 is going to be on hiatus a little longer. I want to build up a cushion of updates before I restart it, in case I fall behind. (I also heavily wanna rethink some aspects, like the city itself.)

As far as art this month, one thing I think I may do is have a free-for-all submission form to do another round of small supporter OC doodles, like I did for the discord. This wouldn't be discord-specific however. (No promises on this as other tings have a priority.)

Patreon has finally launched annual memberships! If you plan to stick around for a while, an annual membership allows you to subscribe for a full year at a time.

SO, some stuff regarding subscribestar, just in the event anyone switches over to there:

The lower tiers ($2 and $5) are priced slightly higher than on Patreon. The reason for this: Patreon allowed me to keep the old model, where I could batch my payments for fees. I've always been on the hook for payment processing fees as well as platform fees.

On patreon, this is 5% for platform, 2.9% + $.30 for payment processor, batched.

On subscribestar, this is 8% for platform, and 2.9% + $.30 for payment processor, per *payment.* This winds up crippling smaller pledges.

For an example, this means that a $2 tier on Patreon sees a fee for me of abotu $.12-$.20. On Subscribestar, it's $.50, or 25% of the entire pledge.

However, it's on a individual cycle, so if you pledge on the 10th, you are charged again on the next 10th, rather than having to watch to make sure you don't pledge right at the end of the month.

There does seem to be one issue with changing tiers: according to two people so far, changing tiers causes you to be charged the full price of the new tier, rather than the difference. This is NOT reflected in my earnings however. I'm emailing SS about this to find out where the original payments went, to see if they're refunded, if they'll show up later, or if SS just pockets them (worst case scenario). I'll work out something if stuck witht he double charge.

I'm also trying to figure out the milestones and how to handle them. Subscribestar currently doesn't track individual supporter analytics it looks like. I'm still trying to figure out the nuances of the system overall, bear with me.

I like how that monika pic came out.

Decided to tweak a few animations, extend things, and add a few transitions.

I like the hand motion I did to transition to the 'faster' mode, and the transition before the ejaculation loop.

Also the ejaculation loop feels a lot more forceful now IMO. Before it was a continuous but fairly liquid stream, now it's like a repeated pulse and is very sticky :v

Think it'll largely just be split into part 1 and part 2, 3 shots each. What's left for part 2 is this scene (done), two curlys on quote (face sitting + cowgirl, they're making out on top of him), and the group scene at the very end.

Kinda been quiet for a few days, working on this week's webcomic update, but some other news!

-HACKED 3 (part 1) IS NEARLY READY TO GO! Strelok's putting the finishing touches on the audio now. Shrinking down the video sizes really has made it less stressful to work on. Which is weird cause technically it's more work over a longer period of time. Shorter term commitments help I guess. I'll have a post going up soon for $5 supporters to check the credits.

finally getting back to work on this.

Focusing JUST on the first scene, in total there are about 1700 frames, which is about 70 seconds of animation before any additional loops I do.

I've added in a few extras: small transitions when climaxes starts (e.g. the Curlies being surprised by it) and a unique climax for the shortstack where the other two squeeze her boobs hard against Quote's dick, milking her in the process.

I've also done some lighting effects which wound up not being too much for TB: a color curve to make everything 'dark', and then glow effects for the eyes and fluids to make em stand out and look more eerie.

I'm not gonna touch the other scenes until this one is done up with audio. I just need to do the background, maybe loop a few things / time things out in my video editor, and then get the audio. I don't want to deadline myself but part 1 should be ready to go sometime in July. I plan to break this up into probably 2-3 parts.

I had an idea last night that I want to explore, and wanted to see what you guys would think. Hacked 3 has been a big source of stress for me, so I'm trying to figure out what might be the best approach for it.

As is, the plan for hacked 3 is to just be the loops of the animation with audio. Not as impressive as the previous ones, but with more variety in the positions / angles. However, this would eliminate a lot of 'progression' of the scenes.

The other option that I've considered is instead to focus on just one scene at a time, and release the animation in parts. This would mean I'd take one angle/scene, animate it with full progression, etc. I wouldn't need to do any transitions cause it's all the same scene, but there would be more animation. It would also mean I'd have to animate more. I'd do this for every scene, but polish each scene when it's done before moving onto the next, releasing it as Hacked 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, etc.

Pros:

• More animation goes into each scene
• It eliminates the need to do transitions. Each part is more isolated from the others
• Multiple releases means more chances for people to join up as they see it completed
• The final release can be in a big compilation

Cons:

• This extends the project over a longer period of time. Hacked 3 has been stressing me out since the start (especially following my breakdown a few months back regarding fanart).
• This requires more work from me per scene.
• This also impacts render times pretty bad. Doing 60 seconds of footage for instance is way more intensive than 4 seconds.
• This probably won't speed up the release time for something. 3.1 under this approach would be out around the same time as the full hacked 3 project could be released without taking this approach.

I want to know what you all think, and what you would be most interested in: a sooner total project, or several smaller projects over a longer period of time?

One thing with kink art, I remember, is that it really encourages you to draw more dynamic poses and angles. Maybe I should return to that a bit.

I've been following them since 2018, finally was able to register thanks to a friend.

PF is a social media site that has basically the things that I liked tumblr for: a proper tag system, image sets, NSFW is explicitly allowed, and it has things like communities so it's easier to get around versus places like Twitter, and built in blacklists to control your feed. Also, posts can be set to NSFW individually, so SFW followers can follow NSFW accounts without fear.

It's still in beta so it's a bit under construction in some respects, but there's been a surge of people joining it as of late. I was going to wait til it got out of beta, but opportunity struck.

I'm posting my work there over the next few... long periods of time. I have a lot of work. But, it'll be a better archive of my stuff than Twitter.

Tldr: some US residents might be charged a few cents extra per pledge due to recent legislation, starting July 1st.

A bit of background:

Patreon has been charging and paying VAT for patrons in the EU since 2015, when the laws changed there. Over the past couple of years, many other countries and states in the US have passed similar laws that require “online marketplaces” to apply sales tax to transactions. Although aimed at large online stores, the Amazons, Ebays, Netflixes, and Etsys of the world, the way these laws were written and the way they’re being interpreted means that they’re impacting many different types of companies, including Patreon. Due to this, Patreon is legally required to start adding sales tax on applicable patron pledges from July 1st 2020.

So, yeah, the US has passed some laws that wound up affecting small time digital markets too, and technically patreon pages fall into that.

But, Patreon has taken some steps that greatly mitigate the fallout from this.

They've made the process nuanced and given creators jurisdiction over if their content is taxable (though the controls for it on my end are a bit tedious.) We've got a bit over a month to get things sorted out before then (technically two: news of this first dropped May 6th, but I was waiting to see what the course of action would be).

Patreon pages now can assign what kind of benefits apply to each tier they have, and weight them according to their own discretion. Not every kind of benefit gets taxed either.

Some things are kinda vague--for one, I'm not sure if early access to art counts or if it counts everywhere. Full res downloads probably would count, but only for a very limited respect. For instance, this is how I have it weighted for the $2 tier:

Some of the numbers are a bit all over the place because this is all decided by a cumulative percentage equaling 100, rather than a 'weight' system which would be WAY easier to visualize. Some states might consider something like early access a taxable good, while others might not. Most probably would consider the archive a taxable good.

So, only a tiny percentage of the $2 pledge is therefor taxed, and then it'd be whatever the tax rate is for that state. A percent of a percent results in a small amount, and will probably only be a couple of cents for most people. (Sometimes even less than 1 cent I would imagine.)

It's annoying, but this is 100% on the US government. I am extremely glad that I can weight my content myself instead of Patreon just assuming tax on 100% the value of each pledge. (I just wish it was easier to edit.) Ultimately, I think most people here shouldn't expect to pay more than a couple of cents (like, lower single digits) in taxes.

It's still a month before this goes into effect, so if you wanna ask questions, or need to plan for anything, there's time to do so. I'll forward anything I'm unsure of to the official discord and forum.

If you also have feedback on how you personally value your pledge, e.g. why you're in the tier you're at, lemme know, I can use it to help make my benefits more accurate.

With that, I do believe I'm actually done with character animation for hacked 3. This means now I need to focus on rendering, compositing, etc. Aka, the actual hard and overwhelming part.

I think Ima make aliased color / linework permanently part of my style. It worked great for the PV02 updates, it looks good on this.

I kinda like the high contrast shading. It's sort of a soft cel-shade style. I hope it paid off, tbh, I've been in a really low spot confidence wise for the past week. (Couple that with my wrist acting up again.)

Once I get the climax done for the final scene, i'm gonna move to compositing / audio etc.

Looking on it, I very well could have this done this month. Not that I'm gonna deadline myself.

A few of the rewards for this month so far.

So, one thing I've been debating implementing is another iteration of the milestone rewards, for very long-time supporters.

As a new perk, from here on out, in addition to getting a reward drawing at $100 lifetime pledges, you also can get a second one at $500!

As usual, these rewards have no deadline on when they can be redeemed, and they can be anything outside of the no-no topics. The level of detail depends on the complexity and still needs references for any chars I might be unfamiliar with. You can see some examples in the "rewards" tag on my page.

I've sent out messages to eligible people and am tracking it in my patron manager. You do need to have an active pledge for me to send you the initial message however.

Once you receive the message in Patreon, you can follow up here, or if you're in the Discord server, feel free to direct message me. Whichever's easiest. (Just be sure to give me your name if it's different so I can track that yeah I got you.)

Since there were a few this time, as I'm accounting for people who have already had this milestone met for a while, these will roll out a little slower than usual. Anyway, I've kinda been taking a few days of cool-down. I try to avoid doing much activity on the first few days of each month, especially on the administrative side, so pledges have a chance to process.

My next priorities are finishing the next D&D vid, and doing set design for Hacked 3. The credits verification post will be going up for the D&D vid in a few days, I plan to have it out by mid-April.

Once those are done, I'm going to start diving into 3D modeling again and try to learn it once more.

Socket that was really dumb tbh

I tried some small tweaks to panels. Variable border width, etc. Also went back to hand drawn speech bubbles. I think they look a bit more organic tbh. Also line weighting them gives an interesting effect.

The panels ont he left use raster lineart, while the ones on the right use vector layer. Wonder if people can see the difference (at least without the black shading.) Vector layer lineart definitely is leagues faster and cleaner long term.

So, my next vid was originally gonna be another DND animated, however I think I'm going to push that back like 2 weeks, for a middle-of-April video. This'll give me a bit more time to prepare the tablet review to go with it.

The reason being, I actually have a different animation coming in about 10 days! As such, I'll be using the credits discussed in the most recent credits post for that video, meaning it'll use March's supporters, and the DND animated video will use April's supporters.

Unfortunately, for this new video, I can't share what it is ahead of time. It's nothin huge.

(Note that when I'm talking about videos and stuff, I always mean for Youtube.)

Also: I know I haven't had a lot of progress for Curly Hacked 3 as of late, but that should change eventually. When, I can't promise, but it will get done. (My subconscious refuses to allow myself to dive back into 3D or music mixing or go back to doing short nsfw gifs again before it's done.)

So, the $20 tier has had me unsatisfied because I don't really offer much for it. At the same time I've wanted to add in a new high end tier for a specific reward (limited batch).

SO I've finally figured out what to do for both.

$20 tier: Each month there will be a poll that all tiers vote on. The $20 tier however gets to decide what the options are for voting. Each month I'll take the top 4 most liked nominations, and each $20 tier person can suggest up to 2 things. Fanart, OC stuff, themes, etc.

$10 and up tier gets to votes on this poll.

Meanwhile, the $50 tier is gonna be limited to just two upon creation. They get one commission a month, however it has to be a single character commission, and it has to be one of mine.

Commission tiers are something I'm staunchly against cause they get to be a hassle to manage, but if it's limited to my own chars then chances are they'll be something that I'd draw during the month on my own, or something similar.

I like to homebrew stuff a lot, though I've been burned out a bit on 5e homebrew with how limiting a lot of aspects of 5e are.

That all said, I do have (worked on / been working on) statblocks for a collection of bug like races and wanna do a few more, cause bugfolk I think I pretty neat. Working out how to use the extra arms without just "oh yeah you can attack a shit ton extra / wield a 2h with a shield" has taken some thought. (As has wing usage / flight without just a fly speed.)

Not depicted here: arachne (statblock there needs a rework to slim it down + quick set of monster rules), spiderfolk (bipedal spider), and for other ideas I was thinking centipede and scorpion would also be good fits.

How does this work? I do not know. But it's been on my mind ever since I mistakenly shaded Pivot too dark and drew tanlines on her as a joke.

honestly progress is starting to slow. I'm getting burned out on how many scenes I did. I'm going to shelve the scenes of both Curlies riding on top of Quote pyramid style (too difficult to orchestrate) and the scene of shortstack Curly riding cowgirl. All the completed ones are staying in however.

My plan here is to finish up this big final scene, then work on compositing, audio, etc.

As mentioned at the start, this one is gonna be more a collection of loops rather than a continuous story. Originally I was thinking "this'll make it easier to make" and while I don't have to deal with transitions, I have to make new rigs for each angle / scene essentially.

Wew MAN the colors on this were a bitch to figure out but I got em finally.

when converting to izilith I wound up restructuring a lot of the rig.

I don't get why I have this problem. I try to take shortcuts by means of just drawing new frames instead of rigging up parts because, short term, it's faster, but long term it's WAY faster to just rig things out.

Izilith as a whole is more detailed and better built than Hiro in this as a result. And when I convert her to the last character, it'll be even easier, due to similar body shapes + I'll have already restructured everything.

Anyway, mostly done with reanimating Izi, just gotta do the other half of the dances (which gets easier as time goes on and I can just reuse existing parts).

I have an internal deadline for this, so if it starts cutting close I'ma be working on it out of stream.

After deliberating on this for like 3 days I finally figured out how to color it and MAN do I like how it's coming.

Socket's tits got nerfed in the process however. Also found how jank her anatomy was--her head was on her left shoulder.

This should be finished soon luckily.

I probably won't have the archive migrated to a new platform before the end of the month. I'll keep looking around.

I've been looking at Mega, but the big thing is I want something that can just sync a folder on my computer, instead of me having to directly upload every time I make something new. I only need like, 4 gb of storage tbh for all the gifs and pictures.

WIP on the 28k milestone pic. This took me a lot longer to line cause I kept having to stop due to an incredibly painful canker sore in my mouth.

Honestly in hindsight I shouldn't be surprised, Pivot and/or Socket's inclusion in a poll always means a landslide victory. It makes it feel like the poll has no point or purpose, which makes it feel like kinda a shitty perk.

If anyone's tried to access the drive lately, you'll see it's offline.

There was a scare over on Twitter about Google disabling accounts for NSFW on drives. While this was an overreaction and the reason for the victim's account deletion wound up being something else, it did bring to my attention that Google Drive actually doesn't allow NSFW posts to be public / shared. Google will go around and disable images or even parts of an account if they catch this.

So, I'm going to be switching to dropbox this month for archive sharing. In the meantime, the archives won't be available until I switch over.

I've unpublished the SFW tiers. From here on out, the tiers will be one once again.

Because not everyone wants to see NSFW, and I do do some SFW content, posts with NSFW in them will use a SFW image or crop for the preview. I'll also include (NSFW) (SFW) or (MIXED) for each media post I make.

Over on the discord, if you don't want to see NSFW posts, just ask for the SFW role!

You're in control of what you want to see.

The reason I'm consolidating the tiers again is, it's less clutter / fewer tiers to manage, it makes it easier on me for posting, and it also helps in the fringe situation of someone who's in the SFW tier but still wants to maybe see the occasional tamer NSFW source file or whatnot.

If you're in one of the old SFW tiers, you can stay there or you can move to the primary tier, the tiers have otherwise been unpublished (still active, but hidden). For things like the $5 Lunchbox tier, which includes credits in videos, if you're not interested in your name showing up in NSFW content, send me a message and I'll make a note (you do NOT need to do this if you are in a $2 tier.)

The proposed changes are not finalized, and even if they were, current patrons will not be affected, no matter what. I made the post about them to collect thoughts first.

The reason I'm looking into adjusting the tiers is because the scaling on them is weird / disproportionate, and I want to reduce the number of tiers I have (removing the NSFW/SFW split especially.)

Current patrons would be grandfathered in, as I said. I have zero plans about requiring anyone currently to pay more. I still support the $1 tier from when this page first was founded (or I did until the last patron in it moved to another tier / withdrew).

If I do ultimately decide on a change, I may wait til around March to implement it at this point. I don't know. I'm still looking into the price levels and may even opt to reduce certain tiers too. But, I've looked at some pages of friends who have half as many supporters, a similar model (even less content even), but the same level of earnings, and it makes me feel like maybe I'm not structuring my tiers correctly.

On a similar note, some of you also might have seen some of my comments in the discord regarding me no longer wanting to draw fanart. The past week has not been kind to me, on top of getting sick I was feeling incredibly low and frustrated with my work. I have been dealing with burnout for most of 2019, with a few periods of me just ignoring it, but last week it was extremely bad.

I asked followers for answers and feedback about why I'm not growing, why things are stagnating for me, how can I improve, why most artist friends who come onto the scene skyrocket past me in terms of reach in the span of a month, and one thing that was resounding was my art isn't "interesting," that it's fairly tame or generic.

They're fuckin' right, it's something that's been bothering me for a long while, that I don't actually use my characters for much. It used to be way more interesting, and I would do more with characterization and the like (I miss Tumblr).

Now that my sickness is all but gone, I have plans as I get back into the swing of drawing art, particularly I want to make far more OC driven content, and make it actually characterizing rather than mostly just generic pinups. This might mean things like more comics, more sketches, and I'm likely going to bring back asks via CuriousCat and Twitter.

Me wanting to draw less fanart is me wanting to prioritize going back to things that I used to like about doing art. Fanart always has felt more like just trying to appeal to the audience to me with little else in substance. It felt like going through the motions to just try and fish for likes / notes, and even when I was putting forth and trying to push myself technically, it felt soulless to make.

So, for those in the discord who saw sick-me lamenting in a stupor and commenting that I'm going to cut back on fanart, this is what I meant. I'm going to get more into things that are interesting and interest me, and I think that I will be a lot happier doing this kinda stuff, as do I think most supporters and followers.

This doesn't mean I'm not going to do fanart ever, and it doesn't mean I'm not going to finish other projects (Curly Brace Hacked 3 is still getting made.) But in 2020 I'm going to learn how to love my art again.

Thinking on it, I think I may need to reassess my tiers.

The rates I have currently kinda scale wonkily, and the base tier in particular is in a poor spot where a sizable portion of each pledge is eaten up by processing fees.

What I'm debating for the changes:

• $3 - Formerly the $2 tier. Get early access to content, see WIPs, etc. Drive access would be moved to the next tier up.
• $7 - Formerly the $5 tier. Get name in credits, get access to the digital archive / drive.
• $11 - Formerly the $10 tier. Get access to source files, commission ability.
• $20 would stay where it's at and would mostly be a bonus / flavor tier like it is currently.

Some other ideas:

I could also consider patreon produced merch. A $12 tier would be eligible for a monthly sticker, or a $30 tier would be eligible for a monthly poster. (I need to actually look into this if this actually interests people cause I can't see it anymore in my role management, so I dunno if I missed my chance.)

I want to remove the SFW / NSFW split to reduce the number of tiers I manage, and would just limit image previews so if someone isn't interest in NSFW, they just don't have to look at the post. Patrons in tier II and up would be able to message me and preemptively mention if they wanted to be excluded from NSFW credits.

I may start distributing the drive link via PMs instead of posts, to make it harder for leak sites to access too, and may start dividing the access by monthly folder (so it doesn't become a permanent benefit even for people who withdraw their pledge--it'd only work for the months you were pledged to. I don't lock out my content however so the drive is and has always been mostly be a convenience matter).

Additionally, I would be a bit more strict with early access. Most art would be 1-2 weeks before it goes public, rather than just a few days, while animations would be about a month rather than a week. I know for sure I do not want any permanent paywalls on my content, but I do notice that a lot of my friends have had wildly more success with longer exclusivity periods. Early access isn't that much of a feature if it's not that much earlier.

For current patrons, I'd grandfather you guys in, so you're getting equivalent access for what you're currently pledging. The current roles would be hidden, so no new pledges could be made to them. There wouldn't be any obligation for you to change your pledge unless you wanted to.

I've been debating reintroducing monthly polls too, with a power level influenced by your tier.

As I said, instead of doing one continuous animation, I'm doing several smaller ones. This means I can do as many as I want or feel able to, and if I start feeling overwhelmed, I can just cut it there without losing anything more.

SO! I'm kinda going all out. Here's several sketch previews of some stuff to expect.

Naturally there are actually a lot of clones, but the three main ones are 1 normal clone, 1 short haired clone, and 1 shortstack clone.

I also want to do one scene with the OG Curly and Quote, both getting serviced or assisted by the clones.

The idea for it all is the OG Curly is actually in full control, and she's controlling the clones AND has Quote hacked. AND she feels everything the clones feel (selectively, mind you, but inb4 "IT FEELS LIKE IM GOING CRAZY IM BEING FUCKED WHILE EATING MY OWN PUSSY")

The biggest suggestions I saw were for more Curly Brace (a hacked 3 sorta deal), Bit, and a few suggestions for Cesil.

Pivot and Mari were also suggested, but as this is a NSFW project, they're out. I'm not comfortable doing a bigger NSFW thing with Pivot, because that makes people think my comic is a hentai comic. A few other suggestions I got were in a similar vein (e.g., NSFW involving Hiro, specifically. I'm not lewding him.)

Hacked 3 would essentially be: Quote finds Curly in the big machine, gets moshed by Curly clones, then the real Curly comes out of the machine and reveals she's in full control of them and can opt to feel everything they can, then puts a helmet on Quote to hypnotize him as well and has a big orgy. It'd be a set of gifs of various animations in theme, with a few comic panels between them.

Bit's BE comic would be a comic sequence of her gaming / streaming as her boobs go up in size with donations. Maybe she gets hornier / has a vibrator-like response whenever she gets donations of a certain level. (Could be her testing out new equipment.) (Was surprised how many people suggested this.)

Cesil, I'm not exactly sure what to do specifically, so if you vote for her, please offer ideas.

I'm thinking of switching up the hierarchy. As is it's a pain in the ass to upload to. I want to do something that's easy to save to and easy to navigate. I'm thinking>

Year > Category (animation / comic / art / sketch) > SFW / NSFW > Month (if applicable) > character (if applicable)

With the way Drive works, if you search say, "Cesil" any folder named Cesil will come up, as well as anything with "Cesil" in the name. Drive also can look at images for signs of text and search based on that. However if a pic isn't in a folder then that might not show up.

As is you can also sort findings by 'newest first' to see what's new, but it's not 100% ideal at the moment.

Atm, I've actually stopped using character folders for my personal sorting, instead sorting strictly by month.

My big concerns are figuring out a way so people who want to avoid NSFW can, people who want to find it don't have hoops to jump through, and it minimizes the number of folders you have to navigate to find out what's new. If anyone has suggestions or preferences, feel free to comment.

Sorry for the lack of content.

This month has been a really rough month for me mentally. I'm hating everything I make, and have been for the past 2 weeks. I don't know the last time I've had a depressive episode this bad in my 13 years of doing digital art, but I do know this is the first time the thought of just giving up on art has actually and seriously crossed my mind.

Please refrain from trying to offer advice in comments, it's always the exact same suggestions that don't address the problem. The only thing I can do is just keep waiting and hope this passes. I'm going on a trip this weekend so maybe things will improve after a brief change in scenery.

At minimum each month you can always at least expect PV02 updates and for me to deliver on milestone rewards. I still plan to have a short Halloween animation up in October. I don't know when I'll be back in full swing, but I understand if this affects your patronage at all. I'm not obligated to your guys' support, and I still appreciate it.

Just a few designs I did in stream last night.

I totally forgot about the art archive at the start of last month. I've since updated it.

I'm debating reorganizing things again, maybe sorting strictly by date (and sfw/nsfw status), relying on search queries to pull up the characters you're interested in. I (almost) always include the character names in the files so that'd work.

Anyway, changelog has all the updated information. I've also added a new folder for giftart I've received, rather than art I've made myself. The names in the files should correlate to their respective artists' newgrounds, twitter, or tumblr pages, though some may be outdated by now (or might not've had a page).

This was a lot of stuff, and it's after moving everything to my new SSD too. On that note, I'm gonna be organizing my own files in a totally new archive, so if that works well for me I may transition to using that for the drive folders too. (If I do that it'll only be for new content, not existing uploads.)

This is what I was focusing on today in Toon Boom. It interpolates between a few specific nodes. There's some kinks to work out (that I know how to fix, if I can just get some advice from other TB animators.)

It's September, the month where most people have birthdays.

I will get to reward milestones on the 6th. I give ample time for payments to process--checking it preemptively often means the payment hasn't gone through yet, so people get skipped.

Now in effect (mostly changes tot he $10 tier wrt commissions):

• Commissions for the $10 and higher tiers are now a bit tweaked. You can order between 1 to 2 commissions a month, depending on complexity. This is to keep me from having too many commissions (especially high profile ones) where they cut into my other work.
• You need to be a patron (any tier) for at least one month to get a commission from the $10 tier. (This is to prevent "pledge, commission, leave")
• If I get an influx of commissions, I will run slots til I get things done / caught up.
• All source files will now be in the $10 tier. Formerly, animation source files were exclusive to the $20 tier. Because that's a bit of a significant gate, I've switched it up.

My birthday's coming up this 15th as well, so woo another year for existential dread's nefarious influences. I'm gonna be taking a trip as well on the 20th, so I'll be gone for just that weekend.

I want to do a small animation involving Cesil for Halloween. Something short, funny, and cute. I need to brainstorm ideas.

PV02 animation progress is being made but man, it's getting to something I can't stream already. I need to figure out what to work on during streams on Saturdays/Sundays to Youtube (maybe the Cesil animation if I can think of something). Total frame count is about 2800 frames, or about 2 minutes. (Plus a few minutes for dubbed comics leading up to it to provide more context.)

Also, I have plans for another small video soon, just an art + talk video, and another tablet review that I'm gonna slip in there (hopefully it arrives soon. I wanna get it out + test out the new tablet).

I don't really have many plans for major NSFW content atm, or really any NSFW for the time being. I'm sure small stuff will periodically come up throughout the month, but my depression's been getting the better of me for the past week so I haven't had any inspiration on that front lately. Trying to force myself to work results in sub quality work.

So, one small change I'm debating implementing (starting next month): at the moment, the $10 tier gets CSP source files, and the $20 gets animation source files. I'm thinking of moving it so the $10+ tiers gets both. Basically, no longer distinguishing between animation and static image source files.

The $20 tier would also still see both as they do now, but as far as unique things the $20 tier would get, it'd namely just be pic in the credits, and VIP status on Discord.

My reasoning for the source change:

• Fellow animators are fairly uncommon. Moving source files down one notch would make things more accessible
• It'd make it a bit easier to consolidate posts (no more separating source file posts between animation and static art. It'd just be a sfw/nsfw split)

I wanted to run this by everyone and see what their thoughts would be.

One other idea I had is maybe for the $20 tier to get access to MAJOR project files that previously I wouldn't give out regardless and things like puppet rigs. (e.g., Curly Brace: Hacked or Hiro the Dense, or the newest PV02 rig when complete.) Otherwise for most stuff, both the $10 and $20 tiers would see the same source files.

Let me know what your thoughts are, if any.

Testing out some simple poses on this rig, it works out really well. I need to do the foreshortened limbs, the power fists, tweak the seams a bit. Maybe add some minor shading to key parts (like just the neck)

That all said, truth be told as soon as I got back from break I got a lot of commissions in a very short time period, and it was for a lot of high complexity commissions too. A huge part of this Patreon's purpose is to reduce the number of commissions I need to do so I can instead focus on bigger personal projects. If I'm getting too many commissions, it's defeating that purpose.

So, there are also two changes I'm thinking of implementing:

• Limit the comms you can get to one per month (or a 'complexity threshold'. Like you can get a few lower complexity comms one month, or one big complex pic per month.)
• Require someone has been a patron for at least one month before they can get a commission. (To avoid the situation of "pledge for one week just to comm, then remove pledge")

I've also considered doing something like slots per week (like maybe just 2 or 3). Usually maxing out slots wouldn't happen, I don't think, but it'd be there to reduce the complications from surges of commissions.

What do you guys think? Does anyone else have ideas, comments, feedback, suggestions, disagreements, etc.?

I got a busy schedule thsi week so I'm glad I was able to get this done fairly quickly.

I tried experimenting with skirt designs that maybe could be removable for purposes of animation, but everything just felt too similar to Pivot's default outfit or her maid cafe outfit. I do feel like leggings are more in line with the theme I'm aiming for either way, to be honest.

So, tuxedo bunny won the vote, but I'm not happy with it, as I feel it's a bit too similar to the maid cafe outfit, and animating a skirt (especially a complex one) isn't an easy task.

So I figured I'd try combining some of the tuxedo elements with the faux bunsuit designs.

What do you guys think? Good, or go with one of the other designs? White vest + black leotard, or white leotard + black vest?

The "was long, still read":

I've used a LOT of stores in the past (Shark Robot, Redbubble, Teepublic, Teespring). At the moment, my store is on TeeSpring, but I'm not 100% satisfied with how they work. (Tedious to set up products, can't edit, etc.) I like Redbubble but they don't have the Shelf API (which shows merch below my youtube videos).

Crowdmade's gotten in touch with me for a partnership. Unlike RB and Teespring, Crowdmade is basically limited in who they work with; they also handle the design aspect, after I provide ideas + graphics, so it's a little less work on my end too. A lot of animators (both Storytime and classic) have partnered with them. I haven't gotten full details of the partnership yet, but I'm honestly expecting something standard and fair (I mean hell, even Jacksfilms uses Crowdmade.)

They also have the Shelf API to show their stuff below my channel's videos which is excellent, like I do with Teespring.

They do stickers, but they're not print on demand: rather they're limited batches with a narrow profit margin, so unlike Teespring or RB, I have to be selective about what stickers I sell through them. (Teespring has a big profit margin but as a result their stickers are more expensive, and Redbubble has a tiny profit margin so theirs are cheaper. FTR Crowdmade's prices are closer to RB.)

So, that all considered: I should have a few new merch options coming soon, and existing ones will be moving over to Crowdmade. Stickers will stay up on Redbubble, where shipping options are better and you can get more sizes and its cheaper, and I plan to do more periodically, with occasional exclusive ones going up on Crowdmade. As for my Teespring, I'll be shuttering it if things go smoothly transitioning to Crowdmade!

Some stuff to expect that I hadn't looked into much or couldn't before:

I think this wraps up my backlog, actually. If you had given me a reward request and I haven't gotten to it, message me.

So, I spent the evening getting the script for pretty much most of the next PV02 chapter typed up (spoilers: it's something I've been building up to for a while.)

This made me realize how badly I want to do this next part animated, and exactly what I want to do.

So, to get everything laid out:

• The comic updates planned before the animation release total about 6 to 7. This is about 3 months of updates between then and now. (Each month is 2 updates at my current rate.)
• Estimated runtime is about 2-3 minutes
• I'd need to build assets, the animatic, and have the voicework and audio done by then.
• This would all need to be worked on parallel to any patreon commissions, rewards, other pieces, and the comic itself.
• Given the time span, if I stay committed and work efficiently it should be possible. Hiro 2, which was 9 minutes, was worked on from February to July, taking 5 months. This would be higher intensity animation (action animation, full rigs, etc.), but would be a shorter cartoon. Override likewise originally took 2 months, but I had been working on it with the weekly updates, which at the time were made in flash (so I could make assets as part of the comic updates).
• For assets I'd need, I'd need a rig for Pivot, Socket, Gyro, an unknown, and a few low detail generics. I'd also need to design a few setpieces.

I'm going to try and make it happen, but this is basically the next big thing to expect from me, and is a really important project for me. Override is a huge milestone for my work.

So, with Hiro 2 out, and my vacation over, it's time to get things sorted out. HERE'S WHAT I GOT PLANNED:

• First, I need to get caught up on patreon rewards. Got a handful of them from last month, and several this month that I'll be sending messages out for in a few days (after payments fully process). I can tackle about 3 a day so I'm not worried about this being too much or anything.
• I'm in discussions with Crowdmade about merch, and may have some cool new merch options soon. (Likely will be moving all my recent shirts to Crowdmade, as well as introduce a few new ones. Show of hands: who wants a tiny embroidered Cesil sticking out of their pocket?)
• I want to do a few new nsfw gifs soon, using the tentacle trick I used in Hiro 2. (Mmm tasty)
• PV02 will be resuming after this Sunday. (Meaning I'll start work on the next update after Sunday. Meaning the next update will be in just over a week from now.)
• I want to start working on some animation rigs for PV02 as well. I have made several Pivot rigs before, 2 in Toon Boom even, but I think it's high time I actually made a strong, flexible one using what I know now. (Oh how badly I want to do more PV02 animations.)
• As a reminder, if you're in the $10 or higher tier, you can commission me at any time! These might take a bit longer than normal commissions, but they'll get done. At the moment, my rates are based on quotes. I have an old list of rates in the discord server as a ballpark. Well, the stream was a total bust.

Had almost 500 viewers which would've been awesome if Youtube didn't first give me a 500 Internal Server Error when trying to stream (literally 4 minutes before I was going to start, the entire stream section of youtube went down), delaying things by an hour, followed by an audio desync of 5 seconds that made it impossible to show off the animation.

It was just that ingestion too, I found out. Doing a private event later, I had no issues with sync.

It's incredibly frustrating and disheartening. I had been planning for this stream for 2 weeks and have had no major issues with streams for 4 months of work, only for there to suddenly be issues when I try to present the final product.

The audio is all done, got music put in for key moments, the VFX are rendered out (giving the background a nice soft 'bloom' effect).

The Patreon version should go up this Wednesday or Thursday, and then the public release will be on Youtube on Friday the 26th! (It'll also go up on Newgrounds a day early, and I'll have a live viewing at that time too.) Til then, if you notice any glaring errors, or feel like something is missing or off, feel free to point them out. I'll see if I can't get any problems resolved before then or if they're worth the effort. (Though this'll depend on how fast Premier is at rendering too.)

With this (and the next PV02 update which I need to rush to complete), content's gonna be a bit sparse until August. I'm taking a short vacation starting Wednesday, and I've got someone coming out to visit for 2 weeks. There are still several rewards I need to do but if need be they'll be rolled into next month (and will still be valid regardless of the individuals' patronage status. Strelok is about 50% done with the audio, we should have it done by tomorrow. I only need to get Hiro's logo stitched on his shirt, and that's done. Then I'm good to render to PNG sequences, do VFX, and finalize!

SO. Overview.

Hiro 2 is getting real close. I REALLY wanna have it public by the end of the month, but to do that I'd need to get it ready for you guys here on Patreon within a week. That's a really tall order.

When I lipsynch I add in small gestures and bounces, as well as any detail animation. All the core animation is done otherwise. All 5 scenes have a base audio file prepared for me to load in and sync to (though I usually wind up making tweaks anyway)

• Scene 01: Totally lipsynched and animated.
• Scene 02: 90% lipsynched. Need a few vocalizations still, and need to replace one shot.
• Scene 03: I think I don't have this timed yet, and no lipsynching done yet.
• Scene 04: Timed, no lipysnching yet. I want to adjust the shot of Izilith escaping to use the same vine trick I use in the sample below.
• Scene 05: Need a final retake, otherwise 70% lipsynched.

So, not a lot left! I'm trying hard to get it done as a someone's coming out to visit me later this month, and I don't wanna be working on this + don't wanna delay it further while she's here.

As a little WIP, this is from scene 02 (pre-lipsynch) where I redid the vine.

If you remember the old one, it was just a tentacle swiping at her and snatching her up. This one actually feels like a vine growing. Was super easy to do too! I'm really proud of this shot.

The thing with timing and audio, the audio is often SO much longer than you expect. I can easily extend frames, but still, when I'm expecting a scene to be 2000 frames and then it winds up actually being 4300 frames, that's just more lipsynching I have to do. Which I can do, lipsynching is a specialization of mine. And the bounce dynamic I have makes it easy to do long stills of dialog without feeling stiff. But still, just kinda get floored by the length.

ANYWAY. Strelok's starting the audio processing now. He's got the materials just for scene 01 since i got all that done. When I get all 5 scenes to him, I'll start working on post processing + the credits scene.

Oh, and music. I need to figure out music.

SO I guess I need to include a heads up about this now: I will be using supporter status for this month up until the 16th for making the Patreon credits page, for $5 supporters and up! (There's a chance I may extend this but for now, assume that the 16th is the deadline to make sure your pledge is in order if it's not yet.)

I will be using your name as Patreon reports it to me from the relationship manager, so your displayed name will be what's used. Short update. Base audio is set! Got all lines, all retakes, and everything meshed together to make audio files for each scene that I can lipsynch off of.

Now I just need to lipsynch / do the minor animations, then send it off to Strelok for processing / production while I get the credits + visual post processing prepared.

So, for those aware, when you hit the $100 in pledges, I offer a request milestone reward.

The hard part is is I have to track this entirely by hand. Patreon has zero systems to notify users or myself when someone hits an amount--I can't even search pledges by their lifetime pledge, just sort by them. If someone changes their pledge at certain points, or they have a decline or late pledge one month, it can result in me missing them all together.

I've been going through my logs to back track, and adding notes on who I've messaged before as well as who I've completed rewards for. I've sent out messages for rewards this month as well as people who I think got skipped.

If anyone wants me to check their current pledge progress, please just send me a message! If you got a message this month, you're good for a request! There may be a few people in the batch who I've already made contact with, so apologies if you got a duplicate message.

I sorted through everyone with lifetime pledges between $100 and $200, who are currently active patrons with a successfully fulfilled pledge for this month. (So if your pledge declined or is late coming in and you think you might be at the marker, feel free to ask me. Pledges only count to your progress when they fully process.)

Just for reference:

• Requests can be between 1 to 2 characters
• The level of detail depends on how complex the drawing is (though depending on what it is sometimes I might go a bit further)
• The content can be pretty much anything, just as long as it isn't MLP or things like that, doesn't violate Patreon's policies, isn't bodily waste fetish based, and if it involves one of my characters it doesn't completely rewrite them (e.g., no guy x girl time for Socket) and isn't something I'd be uncomfortable applying to them. Usual commission guidelines, basically.
• The reward can be redeemed at any time. They can take a bit to get through so just understand that the turnaround time may be a little slow. That said, I won't post direct reminders, so if you're holding on to it for later you'll need to bring it up to me when you're ready.
