Fweeeeeeeet! The sound of a whistle rang through the air as Light leaned forward from his guard tower, indicating that it was time for the pool to close. Grumbles and complaints could be heard below, but no one argued with the muscular lifeguard as he climbed down from his seat carefully, taking a walk around the pool to ensure that everyone had left. More than once he had caught a few stragglers trying to hide out, usually pranksters who liked to cause mischief after dark, and so out of habit the Floatzel found himself patrolling the area twice more before calling it a night. The sun was starting to go down, and the pool's electric lighting had been on the fritz for the last few days, so Light was eager to leave sooner than later, lest he get left in the dark. The muscular Floatzel did one last check over the area, stopping by the picnic section where pool-goers often stopped to take their lunch or just relax under the pavilion and out of the sun, then making his way around the water slides to ensure that no one was hiding in the plastic tubes. It wouldn't be the first time that someone had hidden just out of sight until he had left. Everything checked out, fortunately, and Light let out a sigh of relief before making his way back towards the locker room to get changed into his casual clothes. It had been a long day, and there had been a string of trouble-makers—nothing that he couldn't handle, of course, but still a headache—so he was ready to head home for the day. Squeezing into the locker room, as the doors were not made for someone so broad-shouldered, the Floatzel found his locker and undid the lock quickly before grabbing his clothes. The mirror nearby reflected his image, and Light couldn't help but smile at his appearance, flexing one large arm in the mirror as he admired his form. A tad taller than most at a little over six feet, he was certainly much broader, packed with muscle. A thick shelf of muscle jutted out from his chest, leading down to a perfect eight-pack, while the cannonball-like biceps swelled at even the slightest flex. He had put a lot of hard work into this body, and Light couldn't help but be proud of the results. Changing out of his trunks and into a pair of comfortable shorts and a light t-shirt, the Floatzel grabbed all of his clothing, bunching it into his bag and tossing it over his shoulders. Heading out the door, he flicked the lights off for the locker room and made his way out to the main area, just as the sun started to sink beneath the horizon, bathing the area in shadows. “Hrm... I should have closed up earlier—” Light paused as he heard something, a scraping sound off near the picnic area. Eyes narrowing, the Floatzel dug through his bag for a flashlight before setting the pack down and making his way towards the picnic section quietly, determined to scare some sense into whoever was trying to hide out in the pool after hours. Smirking to himself, he inched around the corner, coming up on the pavilion quietly; as he did so, he caught more sounds similar to the first, as well as something like metal on metal. The screech caused him to shiver, and he wondered if some hooligans were trying to break into the vending machine again for free drinks and snacks. Growling to himself, Light aimed his flashlight at the vending machine, catching sight of a shadowy shape as he did so, and flipped the light on. “Got you! Uh...” Light paused; he had expected to catch one or two teens trying to wrench open the side, but what he saw was... well, to put it bluntly, quite unexpected. An enormous figure, easily taller than even the tall Floatzel, loomed over the vending machine. Lupine in nature, long gray fur covered its body, though it was shaggy and unkempt. Golden eyes glowed bright in the flashlight's beam, and that same light reflected off of sharp, pointed teeth that were far too large for the mouth they belonged in. Pointed ears raised up as the figure stared right back, hackles rising and a low growl echoing through the area, making Light nervous. Okay, so not your average teenager. “U-uh... I'm sorry, but the pool is closed...” Light stammered; after all, the figure was even bigger than him, and not just in height; broad shoulders were easily as wide as his, and a thick chest pressed up against the wolf's chin. Chins, Light corrected himself, as his eyes adjusted to the light. The intruder was quite large, in more than one way, from a hefty chest to a broad gut, easily wider around than Light could reach with both arms. The wolf was probably twice his weight, if not more, and the way it held it was almost intimidating. This lupine was not one to be messed with, that was to be sure! Swallowing, Light backed away as the wolf started to approach, the Floatzel starting to make his way towards the entrance. “Um... Look, I uh... I didn't mean to interrupt, but it's about to be dark...” Not a good argument, given the lupine's glowing eyes; he could probably see just fine in the dark. “A-anyway, we should probably head out. No hard feelings, right? I mean, I just uh...” Suddenly, Light's legs went out from under him, and he realized that he had tripped over the bag that he had left behind. Cursing to himself, the Floatzel started to roll onto his feet before something very large flew overhead, landing on the ground just behind him. It didn't take him long to realize that the wolf that he had seen had just pounced at him, and it was only a stroke of luck that he hadn't been tackled. Suddenly afraid, the Floatzel scrambled to his feet, leaving his bag behind as he darted around the intruder, running for the exit. His car was outside; if he could get to it, he'd be fine, right? This thing, whatever it was, probably couldn't keep up with a running car, especially if he put the pedal to the metal. Hoping that was the case, Light quickly made his way towards the turnstiles, pushing on the middle one to try and squeeze through. It didn't move, however, and the Floatzel found himself stopping with an oof as the metal bar slammed into his stomach, the turnstile completely still. Grunting and rubbing at his middle, Light realized that the power must have been off for the night, leaving the metal bar locked in its position. That meant he had to go out the gate to the side of the turnstiles, which was normally kept locked, and that was valuable time he didn't have! Looking around, Light's eyes caught the fence surrounding the pool, and suddenly an idea hit him; it wouldn't take him but a second to climb over the fence, and from there he could make a break for his car. Turning quickly, the Floatzel ran back towards the pool even as the wolf-creature got to its feet and started to charge at him again. Even at full speed, Light could barely keep ahead of the bulky monster, panting and struggling to make his way to the fence. Suddenly this seemed like a bad idea, with the wolf only a few feet behind him, but Light didn't have time to question his actions; he had to make it to the fence! About halfway around the pool, however, something heavy hit Light hard, knocking him sideways and into the water while falling atop him. The Floatzel let out a gasp from the impact, a stream of bubbles emerging from his mouth, but the water was his natural element; he had no problem breathing even as he tried to paddle out from whatever was pinning him down. The water was dark as the sun fell below the horizon, and Light found himself swimming blindly, his arms flailing about as he tried to find a wall to orient himself. Several times he hit something large and somewhat soft as he struggled, but it didn't register as panic took over, trying to get out from underneath whatever was weighing down on him. Finally Light's arm found something firm, and he realized that it was the pool's bottom. Quickly he tugged himself forward, dragging himself along the floor of the pool, and soon he was out from under the large thing atop him. Or at least, he was for a moment; a clawed hand latched on to his ankle, and Light found himself dragged backwards as it gripped tightly around his leg. Pain blossomed for a moment like icy fangs tearing into his leg, and in a panic, the Floatzel kicked backwards, trying to free himself. His foot connected with something that gave a crunch, and the grip on his leg ended, freeing him from its grasp. Light wasted no time, swimming back up to the surface and pulling himself out of the water. A glance around showed no silhouette; it seemed the wolf had either escaped or... looking back, Light suddenly realized what it was that had tackled him into the water. Thankful for a stroke of good luck, the Floatzel headed back for the gate, grabbing his bag on the way and fumbling around for the keys. A splash from behind him indicated that the intruder was rising to the surface, and a low growl echoed through the area, causing him to fumble worse. Fortunately, Light's trembling fingers found the keys in a few moment, and he unlocked the gate before running out for his car. He was barely conscious of anything around him, his eyes locked on the vehicle not far off, and the sounds of his breathing ringing loudly in his ears. Arriving at the car, Light fumbled to unlock the door again even as the loud screech of metal rang through the air from the direction of the turnstiles. He yanked the car door open and practically dove inside, slamming it shut and re-locking it almost immediately. A loud howl echoed through the area, and the Floatzel quickly put his car into reverse, pulling out of his parking space and quickly speeding away from the pool. The sounds were soon left behind, and a glance behind didn't show anything following in the light cast by the car's rear light. Letting out a sigh of relief, Light was finally able to relax and make his way home, wondering just what had happened there. Crashing onto his couch, Light suddenly noticed something; his leg hurt. In fact, it had been hurting for a while now, but adrenaline had sort of caused him to tune it out. Looking over it, the Floatzel was surprised to see a rather nasty-looking bite on his lower leg, two larger fangs on each side of it along with a line of smaller, yet still deep marks. Wincing, he hobbled into the kitchen to get some bandages and wash the injury off; whatever that thing was, it had bitten him pretty good. Was it some kind of wild animal, or a monster? Light wasn't sure, but he decided he'd have a doctor look at the bite in the morning, in case it was infected or something. As he made his way to the kitchen, however, Light found himself feeling dizzy. His leg throbbed, and now he was starting to feel light-headed. Groaning softly, the Floatzel sat himself down at the dining room table after pouring himself a glass of water. Maybe the bite was infected, and if so, Light considered seeing if the ER would see him right away. But first he had to get back on his feet, and with how much the room was starting to spin, that was getting difficult. Worse still, the pain in his leg had changed from a throbbing sensation to something of a prickle, and it was traveling up and down his lower leg. The sensation went as far down as his foot, and his toes curled as a strange sensation swept through them. Maybe it was some kind of venom, or perhaps it was just shock. Looking down dizzily, Light noticed that his foot seemed... odd. His leg, which was normally a light blue color, seemed darker than usual, more like a storm blue, almost gray. Rubbing at his eyes to try and clear them a bit, the Floatzel took a second look, only to realize that he wasn't seeing things; the fur on his leg had indeed gone a dark gray, and it had spread down to his foot as well. Shocked, Light could only watch as the color started creeping up his thigh and towards the rest of his body, but that wasn't the only thing he noticed. First, he noticed that his foot was changing; before it had been almost humanoid in nature, five toes, arch, the usual. But now it was lengthening, growing more narrow, with the toes seeming to shorten and meld together. Claws started to emerge from the tip of each as a fully-formed paw seemed to appear. His leg gave something of a jolt and a pop as it twisted, shifting its form into something more suited for a digitigrade creature. Secondly, however, he noticed something even more alarming; his leg was expanding, like someone had hooked it up to an air compressor, growing thicker by the moment. Yet it wasn't air or anything, as every motion had his leg shaking and wobbling slightly; was he... fattening up? That didn't seem possible, yet as he watched, his leg continued to thicken further, losing its definition and assuming a far heftier shape. The changes continued to spread across his body as he watched; Light felt the prickling continue up his stomach, and watched as a trail of gray fur worked across his stomach and sides. As it did, he felt a sort of pressure in his stomach, and he watched in shock as his middle started to bloat out, the lines of his abs slowly starting to sink into the growing gut that was beginning to bulge outwards. The same tingling was spreading down his other leg, causing it to re-shape itself and swell just like the first did, albeit faster to catch up to the former. The pop and shift of his leg caused him to yelp in surprise, the sensation strange but not painful as it changed, and Light found himself just watching, unable to look away as he observed the transformation. From the waist down, the Floatzel's fur had gone completely gray, albeit with patches of a lighter color to contrast the charcoal shade of his lower body. His stomach had rounded out considerably, about the size of a small beach ball, but it didn't maintain a round shape to it; sagging down over his lap, it began to pool over it, wobbling and bouncing with each breath. Light's sides were starting to swell thicker, rolls of fat bulging out and budding beside his growing gut, and the coloration was starting to spread up from his stomach and along his chest, further altering his appearance. The tingling sensation grew stronger, much like the feeling of a foot falling asleep, pins and needles tickling at his entire body as the fur on it started to thicken, becoming a proper coat of gray fur. As the color of his chest changed, the pecs that he had been so proud of began to swell, as though they were growing stronger and more muscled, but in a moment they began to sag, wobbling softly as fat began to build up beneath them. His shoulders broadened slightly, but his entire torso widened noticeably, particularly around the middle as he continued to grow. Already the chair was starting to groan beneath the Floatzel's expanding backside, his shorts straining to contain him as he swelled larger; by now, Light had to guess that he was more than double his initial weight, and he was still growing! Finally, the changes started to spread along his neck, and to his head. Light winced as he felt his jaw shift, his facial features starting to stretch out into a proper muzzle, his nose at the end of it. His jaws were forced further apart as his teeth grew sharper and larger, making it far harder to close his maw. His eyes tingled, and suddenly the room seemed to feel far brighter, as though he were seeing better than before, while his ears twitched, becoming more pointed and shifting around towards the top of his head. Light found himself becoming dizzier and dizzier by the moment as the changes continued, and he found himself glancing over towards a mirror on the far wall... Only to gasp as he briefly saw a wolf-like creature similar to the one that had chased him staring back. Briefly being because only a moment later, the chair gave out from under his expanding girth; Light hadn't stopped swelling fatter, and he was actually a bit shocked at how big he was getting. Already he was as large as the creature that had bit him, his gut so large that it would sag to his knees, thick enough that he couldn't dream of reaching around it. His chest sagged, thick moobs that pressed against his gut as they rested atop that massive mound of flab. The transformed wolf's arms were forced out a good deal thanks to the thickness of the fat rolls pushing out against them, rather than sitting flat against his sides, and even sitting on the ground Light was forced to shift his legs as they pressed against one another. Gasping at the weight, the wolf started to push himself up, but he felt another surge of dizziness overcome him. Something in his head told him that he was hungry, that he wanted to eat, yet Light pushed it away as he struggled to get his hands beneath him so that he could stand. No, it wasn't that he wanted to eat... he wanted to bite something. No, someone. Yes, he wanted to bite someone. Shaking his head, the wolf forced himself up to his feet, putting a large paw on the wall for support, his claws raking lines through the paint. The shift of his weight made it hard to stand, and he nearly fell forward as he tried to take a step, his gut dragging him down and making it hard to keep his balance. And still he swelled heavier. Even as Light turned, trying to make his way towards the phone, his large belly bumped into the dining room table and knocked it over, the wood creaking as he slammed into it. His long, lupine tail, the last thing to grow in, brushed over the countertop and knocked over a few dishes. His ear-tips brushed at the ceiling, and the room felt almost oppressively small, yet there was nothing he could do. The wolf's weight continued to grow by the moment, his belly pressing out, filling more of the space before him. Sight of his lupine feet was long gone, as was most of the floor; soon it would be creeping up on his view of the horizon, at the rate it was going! Light waddled his way across the room, feeling his middle sag lower and lower, heavier and heavier; even his originally muscled frame wasn't enough to hold up his weight! As he made his way to the far side of the room, Light felt the urge to bite someone growing stronger. There was no one around, yet something in his head said that he had to do it. It was like a command, an order, yet there was no one giving it. Where were these thoughts coming from? Shakling his head again and realizing that it wasn't enough to banish the thoughts floating through his mind, the wolf made his way to the far wall, where the phone hung on the wall. Maybe if he called a doctor, or the police, they could send an ambulance to get him and find out what was wrong. What kind of bite turned a person into a monster, anyway!? However, there was an obstacle to progress; Light's enormous belly pressed against the wall, and it was thick enough that the wolf literally could not reach across it to grab at the phone. He tried to turn sideways, but the phone was in a corner, and turning only got him more wedged in and stuck, unable to reach. Grumbling to himself, a low growl echoing in his throat, Light turned and tried to find something that could... could... suddenly, he couldn't remember what he was looking for. What was he doing? The wolf growled again, thoughtfully. Right, he had to bite someone. That's what he was going to do. Then why was he still in the kitchen? The door was that way, and there would be people nearby. Perhaps he could visit one of his neighbors... But even as Light started to turn and make his way towards the far door, his stomach scraped the ground, and the wolf found himself in a bit of a pile-up; as he walked forward, his stomach didn't yield against the tile floor, and soon the wolf found himself practically perched atop it. His toes could reach the ground, but the way he was leaning had him stuck, resting atop his bloated front like some sort of water bed. His thick thighs had no strength in them to push him into a more mobile position, and his arms couldn't begin to reach the ground; in a moment, the constant growth of the lupine's belly had him completely off of the ground, beached atop his middle, bloated limbs sinking into the rolls of fat and his head only inches from the ceiling. Light growled to himself; great, how was he going to get out of this? He had to bite someone, he just had to. Something in him told him that he had to. But he was stuck! Somehow the wolf had grown so fat that he had literally immobilized himself. What was he going to do, wait for prey to come to him? Suddenly, a knock came on the door, and the wolf's ears perked up. Maybe, just maybe, it would...
