Truth

Truth is what people look for
After they've failed to find
A lie that's sufficiently pleasing
To let them rest easy of mind

Truth is a worm in an apple
Truth is a pit deep and black
Truth is what people covet
To cover the things that they lack

Truth doesn't hold any answers
No knowledge that can be expressed
Truth is that truth's nonexistent
There is no reward for the quest

Truth is forever elusive 
No matter how hard that we try
And any we think that we've found is
Only a more personal lie
