Chapter 19: Bomb Heist

As Aero, Sakura, and Astro left the ACIPD building.  They activated their wings and flew over across to the other side of the city where the research facility was.  It was on the other side of the city inside of a skyscraper that was mounted to the underside of the disc it was attached to.  Upon flying there, they saw a giant helipad attached to the side of the building and decided to land there.  "This is one crazy building design." Astro said.  "Well, it give us room to put more facilities here," Sakura said.  "Yeah" Aero said.  "Let's get inside."

Inside the research facility, there was a small office and lobby.  The only other person there was a female Jetroid with peach colored skin and a pink outfit.  She had browm hair and pink wings with green and yellow detail.  She had a badge on her that had a symbol shaped like an L with another line and 2 dots with it, her missile launchers on her legs could hold 3 missiles each and had the same symbol as her badge.  She also had a pink choker around her neck.  "Hey, Lisa."  Aero said.

"Hi Aero", the girl Jetroid replied.  "Can I help you?"

"Yeah, we've come to warn you about a possible heist at this facility."  Aero said.

"Oh, you should tell Sparks and Volt in back." she said.  "Ok." Aero said.

Aero, Astro, and Sakura went through a door in the office and found a segment  of the research facility where a lot of gadgets were being made.  They saw miniature projectile devices on one counter and a set of torpedo-like devices hanging on a wall.  Porceeding further into the lab, they found a brown Jetroid and a gray Jetroid working on a black and orange spaceship.  "Um, hello?" Sakura said.

"Oh hi"  The brown Jetroid said startled.  He was brown and gold in color with gold wrists and gray hands.   He had missile launchers designed to look like the number 2 on a dice.  The gray Jetroid looked up as well.  He has tiny eyes, but had a high tech visor equipped.  He had also enhanced the missile launchers on his legs.  He was gray with red, white and yellow details and had red wrists and white hands.  He didn't talk a lot.

"I'm Sparks" The brown Jetroid said.  "And this other guy is Volt.  What's up?"  "Well, weve come to warn you of a possible bomb heist." Aero said.  "What are you two working on?"  Sparks replied "I see, thanks.  Oh, and this is a spaceship called the Cutlass."  He said pointing to the ship.  "We built it since we Jetroids can't escape Velbus' gravitational pull."  he said.  "It can carry four, and is armed with machine guns, missiles, and rotating turrets.  It also had a cargo area with a secret compartment."  Volt described.

"That's interesting." Sakura said.  Suddenly an explosion occured from the other side of the facility and  several black guys sinilar to the bank robbers entered the facility.  "Get the disruption bombs!" one of them said.  Several of them ran towards the bomb rack.  "What are disruption bombs?" Astro asked.  "They're torpedo-like bombs that can be strapped to a hardpoint on our wings and then fired at something.  When they explode, they disrupt and destory the internal electronics of anything they hit."  Sakura described.  "Oh." Astro said.

Our heroes fought the black villains and stopped most of them.  But three of them managed to get a disruption bomb.  Two of the helped the other strap it to one of his wings.  The three of them flew away.  "Let's go after them." Aero said.

The heroes chased the villains out of the facility.  The villains flew away from the facility with two of them protecting the one with the disruption bomb.  "Astro, hang back, while we fight them." Aero said.

Machine gun fire broke out, destroying one of the villains.  Before the second without the bomb got destroyed, he issued a command to the one with the bomb.  "Target Atmo City's verical thrust generator on this disk."  he said just as he was shot at.  The third one fired the bomb, which whipped past Aero and Sakura.  "There's no way we can keep up with it." Sakura said.

Astro, still hanging back, saw the bomb headed for the city.  "If that thing hits the generator, it will cause Atmo City to tip off balance.  I have to destory it."  Activating his missiles, he targeted the bomb and fired at it.  The bomb was about 1000 feet from the generator when Astro's missiles intercepted it, destroying it.  Aero and Sakura rushed back to see what happened.  The sole villain from that team left because he was the only one left.  He flew downward towards Velbus.

"That was risky, Astro" Aero said.  "You could have knocked yourself out."  "I know, I was just helping like before."  Astro replied. 'I think I should wait for him to cool off before telling him my secret.'  Astro though.

"Well, we stopped the bomb, but those villains will have another plan." Sakura said.  "Let's head back to the facility and make sure everything's ok."
