The Wolves Howl Summons You By: Silver Sheep Walking down the concrete path went a young man named David. He was doing his nightly exercise. Walking around the rural areas of the small town where he lived. He preferred exercising at night to avoid the heat of the Australian summer and it's deadly sun. As David was fair skinned and would burn like a crisp if he spent much time outside. The night air was cooler but not cold. He was dressed in a green t-shirt and red shorts. He listened to rave music to keep himself pumped for his workout. It was dark but the full moon breathed the concrete path in front of him in blueish light. So he walked with confidence. His walking shoes clomped on the hard surface. Suddenly he heard a noise. He dismissed it as part of the music track he was listening to. When he heard the noise again he stopped walking and put his hand into the pocket of his shorts. He found his music player and shut it off with a click. He reached up and removed his headphones and placed them into his pocket with his music player. He heard the sound again this time he could tell what is was. It sounded like a wolf howling. A puzzled expression appeared on his face. There's no wolves in Australia right? We have dingos but did they howl? He started walking again. Coming to a place where the path split into two. To the left was a dirt bush walking track and to the right was the concrete path that led to town. Suddenly the howling returned. It sounded closer strangely there was something in the howl that made him want to get closer to the source of the sound. The direction of the noise was coming from the dirt track. He kept walking past the entrance of the dirt track. He had travelled some one hundred metres or so further down the path when he heard the howling return. He stopped and listened to the unnatural sounds. There was something about the noise that made him want to listen. He should be feeling the primal fear of wild animals and being attacked or eaten by them. He instead felt the desire to investigate and get closer to the sounds. So he turned around and headed back to the entrance of the dirt track. He arrived at the beginning of the walking track. He hesitated until the strange sound of the wolf’s howling returned. Making up his mind he stepped onto the dirt of the track and walked toward the sound. Moving slowly because of the dark of the night he moved along the track. More howls filled the air. The sound of the howl resonated inside of David filling with confidence that he was heading in the right direction where he wanted to go, where he wanted to be. He had to slow down more as the canopy of the eucalyptus trees darkened the path ahead. Only a small amount of moonlight reached through to the ground. He went down some steps in the track careful where he placed his footing. Another howl sounded it sounded much closer. He could hear it a lot better now. David’s expression softened he couldn’t believe how beautiful it sounded. He felt a slight tingle in the back of his head. The air smelled of eucalyptus. Branches brushed past his legs as he moved. He stopped when he heard a rustle in the underbrush as an unseen creature rusted away from the human disturbing it’s nocturnal activities. David continued realizing that whatever it was it was more scared of him then he was of it. He walked down the path for a while more. Up ahead he saw that the path was bathed in moonlight as the trees thinned out. He kept walking. He hadn't heard the howls for a while now and wondered if he should head back toward home. He decided that he would get his bearings in the section up ahead. He stopped walking when he reached the moonlit section of the path. Resting for bit in the cool of the night David was just about to head back. “You're a curious human” came an inhuman voice from the darkened path ahead. He jumped at the sound. Quickly composing himself he turned to the direction of the voice. A figure had stepped into the moonlight he looked liked he was dressed in a werewolf costume. The costume had dark gray fur that was thicker around it’s chest, the mask of the costume was highly detailed with fishing line used as whiskers, plastic cast teeth and a red tongue. The man inside of it was even equipped with reflective contact lenses as they shone in the moonlight. Trying to sound tough David asked “What’s with the getup? Isn't it a bit late to cosplay.” The costumed man just replied “Silly Man” in his inhuman voice his jaw moved along with his speech. “He must be using a voice changer” thought David. David flinched as he heard rustling from behind him as a second consumed figure stepped out of the underbrush onto the path. “I’m about to get mugged” he thought. The second man was dressed as a werewolf too. His costume had the same level of detail as the first but it’s fur was black in colour. “Listen, I don’t want any trouble.” David stammed. “Listen hmm... You listened to our howls and how they summoned you. Such a good listener you are.” the first costumed man said. David’s mouth was dry he fumbled his hand into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. “Take it” he squeaked. The first costumed figure took a step forward on inhuman legs more like that of a canine. David in a panic chucked his wallet straight into the the costumed man’s thick chest fur. It fell to the ground kicking up dust from the track. The costumed man stopped and sniffed the air. David eyes widened in shock as he saw the noise of the mask twitch as it sucked in the night time air. “It couldn’t be possible. It must be his fear making him see things” he thought. The first costumed man spoke again “Your scent reeks of fear silly man. A nice howl will soothe your nerves”. David flinched as the costumed man raised up his head. The muzzle looked much too real as the costumed man readied himself to howl. He let out his howl. The sound hit David’s ears he felt a buzzing in the base of his skull. The sound was just so perfect, so beautiful it was just right. David’s chest loosened he had been holding onto his breath since he chucked his wallet away. It felt good to take a nice deep breath. David scanned the eye holes of the man’s costume seeing his eyes better now that he was closer he couldn’t detect any malice in them. He took in another deep breath focusing on the sensation of his filling lungs. “This is just a prank they don’t want to hurt me.” he thought. The costumed man howled again this made David’s heart rate slow it was so silly to be afraid much better to just breath and relax. David’s expression softened as he listened to beautiful howl. The costumed man took some steps closer. It turned out that the he wasn't in a costume after all. Under closer inspection his face had much too many subtle muscle movements to be a mask. Strangely the fact that David was standing between two wolf-men didn’t seem to bother him. He tried to think up why his mind was reacting in calmness instead of terror but that buzzing returned and so he pushed those intrusive thoughts out of his mind which silenced the buzzing. Better not to think too much. The wolf-man’s warm breath blew across his face. “Silly man look at how lost you are. Deep in the bush. Yes you’re deep but we both know you can go deeper. You will need the embrace of the pack to go deeper. Embrace the pack, be embraced by the pack, feel the packs embrace.” the wolf-man said in his now strangely calming voice. Suddenly David felt a pair of strong arms gently close around his chest from behind. It must have been the second wolf-man he thought. It was fine, it was fine to feel the embrace of the pack. Hmm... the pack what a strange thought. The large arms with paw like hands wrapped around him but David didn't mind. David lazily watched the first costumed man his pack leader as he let out another howl. The perfect howl caused David’s jaw to drift open. The buzzing inside his head increased. He felt the safe embrace of the wolf-man, no his packmate hold him close it was such a warm loving embrace. “Embrace the pack” the thought coming to him was the thought his own? Too much buzzing in his head to tell. Better just to accept it. Yeah, that would be just fine. David’s tongue lolled out and he started panting like a wolf. His pack leader had stopped howling and was just observing his handy work. David continued panting drool running down his lower jaw. His pack leader spoke what a wonderful voice why was he ever afraid of it. “You’re such a wolfie human or a wolf such a wolfie wolf. Now repeat after me. No more fear.” he said. Peter stopped panting and repeated “No more fear.” in a slow groggy voice. “Good wolfie” said his pack leader. David felt a wave of pleasure wash over him at his leader's comment. “You've made a mess off your chin wolfie” His pack leader continued. David saw his pack leader pull his muzzle in closer and then felt the delightful sensation of his pack leader’s tongue lapped up the drool from his chin. What love that’s what he needed the love of the pack. Peter let out a moan at the sensations. “I think this wolfie is just about ready to howl away his humanity. Don’t you think Greenpaw?” said the pack leader. Greenpaw answered “Yes Riverstone, he won’t fight the embrace of the pack now”. Greenpaw stripped away David’s clothes and shoes leaving him naked. Riverstone was pleased that the human didn't resist his undressing and was in a calm and submissive state. Greenpaw guided David to the ground. The ground was covered in fallen leaves and soft dry dirt. “Wolfie the pack needs to teach you how to howl. Howling will come naturally to wolf such as yourself. I bet the more you howl the less of that silly humanity you will be left with.” said Riverstone. David felt the words of his pack leader enter into his mind like absolute truth. “My wolfie, soon-to-be wolfie. It’s quite simple to howl all you have to do is follow along with us. Just listen and when you get the urge to join in just let it flow.” said Riverstone his calm voice soothing David. “I’ll need your help Greenpaw.” Riverstone said. “Yes sir.” the other wolf replied. Riverstone started off with a long howl. David felt the perfect howl wash over him the buzzing in his head increased yet again. It was annoying marring the perfection of the wolf’s howl. He needed to get rid of it somehow. Just as Riverstone stopped to catch his breath Greenpaw let out his own howl. David heard the new sound, so good to listen. It came to him that he could get rid of the annoying buzzing in his skull by howling himself. He tilted his head back and howled it felt so good to let it out. It sounded horrid compared to the howl of the wolves but he felt it release some of the buzzing inside of his head. His first howl had a small effect on his pale moonlit skin as white hairs appeared sprouting from beneath the surface. Greenpaw stopped his howl and Riverstone picked it up offering the slowly changing human no respite. David felt the pressure in his skull return he had to howl it away so without hesitation he howled again. The release from the buzzing noise felt so good. This time as he breathed in the air it felt magical almost primal. With a taste that he just wanted more of but first he just had to purge more of that buzzing. The effects on the changing human were growing as the white hair no it was fur, his fur was getting longer. On his palms of his hands and soles of his feet, swollen black patches of underdeveloped paw pads had appeared. His face was distorting slowly pulling out longer it looked quite grotesque. Thankfully the magic of his changes didn’t hurt him at all. Any discomfit was removed soon by the next howl. It was Greenpaw’s turn to howl now. David was getting used to the procedure now howl out the buzzing noise in his head and breath in the wild, the primal, the wolf. He could be a wolf, he wanted to be a wolf. No, he was a wolf. This human form was dirty, false and holding him back from howling the perfect howl. Keeping him from his pack, from belonging and the wild freeness of the wolves. David was eager to shed his weakness, this taint of humanity. His howl came out distorted from his changing muzzle but it was getting better closer to wolvish perfection. He sucked in the air that was charged with the beautiful wolf magic. How wonderful it was to be a wolf. His body changed even more he had a thick coat of pure white fur now. His paw pads were more defined, his muzzle was almost at full length. His lower legs were shifting into more of a canine shape. Even a tail had sprouted out of the base of his spine growing longer by the second. Riverstone picked up the howl now, how beautiful it was the be accepted into the pack. David, no David was his false name. He was Moonbeam. Moonbeam had to void himself of this lie of David so he let out a mighty howl. Yes, he was always Moonbeam how could he have forgotten? Reverting back to his trueself felt so good, so right what was robbed was now being returned. His howl was almost perfect he just needed some more of his pack’s wolf magic and he would be whole again. He greedily sucked in the magical air into his powerful lungs. The changes were almost complete. Moonbeam’s lush fur was thick and soft, his arms and canine legs complete with black rubbery springy paw pads. His muzzle was fully formed with new twitching ears atop it. Even his tail was at full length only the fur catching up to the rest of his body. With one last howl he would be reverted back to his wonderful wolven form. Greenpaw was honored to help his packmate to become whole. He proudly let out his howl knowing that Moonbeam would now be free with the packs help. The last vestiges of that human taint would be gone forever in this howl Moonbeam knew he could let it all out. His howl was now powerful like that of his packmates full of wolf magic so pure. He could now remove a human’s taint himself, he could save them, revert them to their true wolfish forms. Yes, the perfect howl. He sucked in more air this time he was going to howl as a complete wolf now. Totally free in the warm embrace of the pack. He packed his howl with wolf magic and let it free. The howl said in a magic only wolves could understood “The Wolves Howl Summons You, The Wolves Howl Summons You!, THE WOLVES HOWL SUMMONS YOU!”.
