Yuri: Harbinger of the Otters 4 We were finally nearing the town, thanks to Hagan's help 'carrying' Adamaris. Most of the time we made small talk, he asked about us and I skilfully kept the details quite vague.. As we got closer, the conversation got a bit more serious though. "So what exactly are you two up to anyway?" Hagan asked curiously. A shiver went up my spine and the life drained from my body. I could control Adamaris, she was an easy one, she wouldn't betray me. This one had no such effects in play, if I answered him he could easily rat me out. There would be a small chance someone would believe him but I wasn't just going to... "You're planning on taking over the world, aren't you." He stated plainly. "How did you know?" I asked in shock, crap, I just gave it away... I'm such an idiot. "Well, actually... I was kind of just guessing and hoping. I'VE ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WOULD BE AWESOME TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD. YOU HAVE TO LET ME IN ON THIS." Well that is pretty convenient... "Uh... sure I guess, just try to keep it on the down low. Letting you know is already a pretty huge breach, no more of those, got it?" I asked him, we really couldn't afford any more people finding out. "Wait a minute, why the hell does someone from some forest have dreams as big as world domination?" I asked him accusingly. I don't quite know what but something didn't feel right here. "Well, I never quite said I've always lived there. I guess my soul has always been a bit wild and I needed to live like that for a while to feel alive." "That is the dumbest back-story I've ever heard!" I told him adamantly, it really was, it sounded way too cliché and just all together stupid, no idiot would honestly buy such nonsense. "Hey, what the hell, how dare you tell me my back-story is ridiculous, you think I can just rewrite my own history like words on a page? I'm not some kind of god who can just control this world on a whim." "Whatever, we're almost to the next town now so pipe down. I cant have you mouthing off and giving away what we're doing to a bunch of people." I scolded him, he seemed to understand as he changed the topic to something about wondering what the cuisine of this place would be like. I speculated with him but my heart wasn't in it. Once we were inside I was more focused on keeping an eye on the various people, searching out potential males or females that would make decent partners. "Keep an eye out for any inns that we can stay at. Ideally one that serves food, also look for places that will serve us a warm meal though just in case." Looking for a partner would be harder than it might seem. One might think a whore house of some sort would be ideal but its actually the farthest from it. As I had learned a while before meeting Adamaris, whether they had males or females, they were usually on some kind of contraceptives that kept them from getting pregnant or getting others pregnant. We needed someone without mate who wouldn't mouth about their conquests, someone important who would want to keep it a secret. Important people tended to be able to go reclusive for long enough to go through a quick pregnancy and I could usually cast some kind of spell on them to prevent them from doing any harm to the eggs if need be. The kids would be put in some sort of system to look after them and even if it was bad, that doesn't bother me, they'd be rulers of the world one day, respected and feared. In the worst cases their lives would just have a small amount of hardship made up by later luxury. I quickly realized that things weren't going to be like they have been so far. Where it had only been me originally, it was now three of us. I had to keep Hagan and Adamaris because the former could out me and the latter was someone I brought into this. Even if it was a punishment for the actions of her past life, this new her was an innocent creature with these desires thrust on her. I chuckled at the realization that I had just called Adamaris innocent. "Something up?" Hagan asked me curiously, "I found us a place with food. It seems to be getting late so we need to eat quick and get indoors. I don't think we are going to get a chance to find someone today." "Glad to hear it." I told him. We entered and took our seats waiting to be served. "What can I get you two?" A pretty crocodile woman came up to serve us. She didn't have a long snout, it kind of threw me off because it was kind of what I was used to. Her belly scales and the ones on her chest looked flexible and she had spines down her back. Her four fingered hands carried a servers notebook and some writing implement. Her feet had four toes and she seemed to turn Hagan on. I could smell the scent of his erection and I touched his hand, sending a blast of cold to indicate he should cool it for now. "We don't quite know what's good here and would be appreciative if you could help us. We are both in the mood for something meaty and warm." I told her, she recommended a few things and I chose one at random upon said recommendation. She went into the kitchen and I noticed that when she came back about ten minutes later, that she had an interesting smell on her. I could only guess what she had done on a night where there were no other customers to handle. "You know," I told her, "We are quite new and extremely eager to sample the local cuisine." I grabbed her hand very lightly when she finished laying down the plates. "You wouldn't perhaps be... interested... in serving us some desert when your shift ends, would you?" I stared at her with an innocently longing gaze that had melted the hearts of many men. "I..." I grabbed a bit more firmly, "We also don't have a place to stay and could really use one, We've been sleeping outside so often and could really use a warm place for the night, we can barely spare enough money for the meal..." I told her, biting my lip innocently. "Sure, I could let you sleep at my place..." She told us, she was falling for it hook line and sinker. We actually did have some money but I didn't have enough to just keep spending every time we found a new town. "My shift ends shortly, I can wait until you finish and then bring you home with me." I loosened my grip slightly before remembering. "Oh, we also have a third friend who will be joining us, would you mind getting her some of this wonderful food as well, to go." She nodded and walked off, the heat coming off her all the stronger, I might have gone a bit far on her, oh well. The meal was delicious and by the time I was done I was pretty ready to pass out and get some rest. I pinched myself and reminded myself that I couldn't do that just yet. The woman took us to her home and on the way I drew something on the back of Hagan's left hand, a mark of blood that bound him to me. He'd gain some of my powers like Adamaris, in exchange, he couldn't do anything that constituted a betrayal to me. Tonight was going to be an interesting night...
