Rebecca flew down the trails, slowing for no fur.  She only focused on the bottom of the mountain where the lodge was, and her fancy meal.  Half-way down, Rebecca was already going too fast. She didn't care, though  the snow patrol did.  A mouse on a snowmobile was riding alongside her, the mouse signaling for her to slow down.  Not wanting any trouble she did as told and slowed, attempting to go to a stop.  However the mouse looked at her and gave her a thumbs up and braked, moving back behind her as she flew forward.
After Becca made it to the bottom of the hill she came to a complete stop and looked back up at the hills.  There was no Kara.  She scratched her head as she wondered where he could be.  He was fast and would at best be right behind her but he wasn't close to her.  Seeing as though she had already won she moved to a bench resting at the side of the lodge and sat down. "Odd, I figured he would be here by now, maybe he saw another cute naked guy with a towel." She said to herself giggling.
As she sat there waiting she saw Ozwalt and Salvador come sliding down next to each high fiving. Soon enough they were stopped near Becca so Becca stood up and confronted them.

"Hey did either of you see turbo fox on your way here?"

"Kara? No, we took the side routes to get down until about half way down." Oz answered looking at Becca. "Why?"

"I was expecting him to be right behind me because we were racing." Becca said looking back at the hills.

"Well maybe he fell and is being a sore loser," Salvador said, chuckling, "I know him so what did he off for the winner?"

"He said loser has to pay for the winner's food for the rest of the trip." Becca said smirking.

"Well it would seem he's taking his sweet ass time then." Sal said laughing.

"Hmmm…well then I guess I'll go inside and warm up, it's getting cold out." Becca said as she waited for the two guys to go with her.

After getting ready they put their boards away on a rack.  They waited in the room until the ski lifts were closed and hoped he would be forced into the lodge.

"Well this is absurd; I know that he would have showed up by now! He always keeps up on his bets."

"She raises a good point, not only that but he could be hurt. So Becca you stay here and I'll go stop by the hospital thing they have here. And Oz," Salvador said seeming like he suddenly grew mature, "would you mind going to the room and calling us if you see him there or not?"

"Absolutely, I need to go get something from that room any way," Oz said nodding as he stood up, "Either of you need anything?"

Becca and Sal just looked at him and shook their heads. Sal also stood up looking around at the room, which was now almost empty.

"I'll go then, I'll call you Becca." Walt said looking at Becca.

"Thanks, I'll wait here."  Becca said as she sat there looking around. With that, they walked away, each heading to their own destinations to hopefully find their friend; Becca being left to her lonesome.
As she sat there, a lone a lone tear fell from her eye, as every bad situation ran through her head of what may have happened.  She knew he was fit and strong but the fox couldn't survive long in this weather. Unlike most foxes, he did not have a winter coat. And not only that, but his attire was pants and a t-shirt. Just as she began crying she received two texts saying he wasn't at the room or the medical facility.
"I hope he's alright…" She said as she stood up, looking outside at the two snow patrol furs parking next to the lift. Looking at them she walked out of the lodging area moving toward the two.

Becca waved at one and ran over. "Hey! I have a question!" She shouted at one of the patrollers.

"What can I help you with?" The patrol fur said. It was the mouse from when she was going too fast who had asked her to slow down.

"Well, me and my friend were racing earlier, about five o'clock, and I haven't seen him since, nor have my other two friends. He's not in our room or at the medical facility."

"That explains why you were going so fast. We just did our patrol rounds of the trails, there is no one up there. Thanks for telling us, I'll get the other teams and we'll all go up and take a second, much more through sweep, he might have fallen into the brush or trail shrubbery." The mouse explained looking around at his other team mate who was already dialing a number on his phone.

"Thank you so much, I can't stand the idea of him being hurt," she exclaimed, hugging the mouse, "and what's your name, I have a feeling we'll be seeing each other a lot."
"Name's Enzo, I'm the chief of the snow patrol. Not much of a title but hey, it's something at least. But we'll get right on that case."

"Thanks"  Becca said, looking at the other patrols as they rolled out of a garage and up the hills, the lights on the slopes lighting up nice and bright. While looking at the snowmobiles ride up the mountain she saw her friends walk up watching the snow mobiles too as she whispers,

"Kara you better not be dead or I will…I don't know what I'd do if you got hurt…" Becca said as she left to her room to get some sleep, not wanting to be too tired for the search tomorrow.

It was eleven in the morning and every one had gone to sleep.  The skies were partly cloudy, and the sun was shining brightly onto the mountains, today was supposed to be even colder than the day before.

After hearing of a fellow snowboarder's accident and disappearance about twenty boarders went off to go help find Kara.  They were on a scavenger hunt through the untamed forestry that surrounded the mountain sides for this little fox.  Their objective was to find anything that could have belonged to the fox, and even the fox himself.

Mean while as the hunt was on Becca woke up in her bed and looked around.  Neither Salvador nor Ozwalt could be seen in the empty room.  As she sat there in the room everything from the night before flooded into her head, hitting her like a brick. "KARA!" She screamed out jumping from her bed, throwing on a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt.  After grabbing her wallet, cell phone, and key card to the room she headed out the door running over to the ski patrol office.

As she ran there she noticed several posters that had the word "Missing" typed across it.  Below the word was a picture of Kara.  It wasn't a good one but it was better than nothing.  The poster made her feel warm inside.  It reminded her that there were people who would like to help them, even if it was a few.

After running for a few seconds she made it to the ski patrol where she spotted the mouse sitting in a chair rubbing his eyes and yawning.  "Long night?" Becca inquired.

"Yeah, it seems your fox has been fairly evasive.  We have twenty boarders and five ski patrollers out there looking.  Other than that your friends are currently checking each room to make sure he didn't wind up finding a lady last night." He responded.

"Find a lady? Are you joking?" She questioned him with a glare.

"Absolutely, I can't even tell you how many times I have had that happen.  All it takes is someone's friend finding a certain someone on the slopes and not tell their friends about that.  So then the friend of whom ever is looking frantically everywhere that night only to have their friend show up in the morning bright eyed and bushy tailed.  However because the possibility is always there I always have a search done just in case," He explained looking at Becca, "Unfortunately for you, Kara hasn't shown up at all yet."

Becca groaned as she heard the last part. She looked around and found herself a spot to rest in and sat there. "I can't believe this happened to him. I mean as much as I hate to admit it he is a better boarder than me.  I just can't believe how this happened."  Becca said as she looked out the window.

"I know it's hard to deal with but, even as things seem to be at their worst, there is a flip side to this whole situation." Enzo said while looking at Becca grinning.

"What could that possibly be?!" Becca asked as she looked up at Enzo.

"The up side is that it's below freezing outside right now.  I know that may not seem like a good thing but hear me out.  There is a saying that the Alaskan paramedics have, ‘No body's a dead body until it's a warm body' or something of that assortment.  Basically what the saying means is if the brain is frozen first one's brain will be preserved, meaning that he can live up to a week frozen, and without a pulse.  It's hard to believe but I have seen this first hand."  Enzo responded.

Becca just sat there dumbfounded for a few seconds.  She knew he was right that is what made her feel better about this whole situation, even as grim as it maybe.  After a few seconds more she moved over and hugged Enzo loosely thanking him for his reassuring facts.

While she hugged him two figures walked through the door and looked at them. "Hey, Enzo it took us three hours but we checked each door and it appears that Kara did not find any ladies last night.  We talked to the maids too, and none of them had seen anyone by his face except for yesterday, but that was with us." Oz reported looking at Enzo and Becca.

Becca moved away from Enzo returning to the seat she sat in before.  "That's what I was afraid of," Enzo murmured as he looked up and sighed, "Guys, why don't you go and get some food, I have some things I have to do that'd I would rather do alone, and I don't think you'd want to help out with this kind of paper work."

The three stood there and nodded and left the room leaving the mouse to his work.  They walked down the long hallway, heading for the cafeteria.  A few faces turned toward the trio, all of them showing sympathy toward them.

Moving down the hall they passed by their room and entered, not really feeling hungry anymore.  They just wanted to sit in the room and hope that he'd just show up at the door, knocking softly to tell them he was out late with some chick.

"The sad part of all of this is that that fox won't be missed by anyone else but us three."  Becca admitted with a regretful tone.  The two guys just stood there looking at her blinking. "He has no one besides us.  No parents, no other friends that I know of, no family, nothing."

"What do you mean?" Ozwalt questioned looking at Becca. "I mean he's never said anything about that."

"I know, I only found out recently.  He recently revealed to me that his family well, he has none, I don't know why but he doesn't.  He's told me about them, but never in much detail.  "As for friends, I've never heard him refer to friends outside of you two and I.  He has no girlfriend either."

"He'll make it, I may not have known him long but I know he's tough." Sal assured them.

"For his sake, me too." Becca said before laying back in bed looking a t the ceiling as he mind wandered off to who knows where.

Kara opened his eyes groggily looking around. He found himself in a room that was well lit by the early morning sunrise, leaving the room in a soft blue hue of light.  The room has wooden paneling that ran horizontally and the floor was a diagonal maple wood.  On the wall were a few pictures, mostly family ones.  All of them featured wolves.  As for décor there was mostly modern styling, with curves and glass toppings, a very nice technological design to it all.  Even the clock on the bed stand was nice. He also took note that the time was eleven in the morning.  Who ever lived here had money.

Kara tried to move up but couldn't. His back, waist, and just about everywhere else hurt.  That was no surprise though, after all, he was on the brink of freezing to death after rolling down a large cliff and smashing into several trees. He was persistent though, and kept trying to move even if it hurt.  However as he moved his body to turn he yelped out on pain. And fell over before continuing onto the floor where he landed with a thud.

"Whoa there, fox! Slow down now, you are too messed up to be battering yourself around more." Said a wolf who came dashing into the room.

Taking just a few moments, Kara looked him over.  He was about five foot ten inches.  His build was thin and muscular.  His fur was a dark shade of gray on his back and his stomach and chest was a soft light grey that went from his mid torso to his neck.  As for his back it had that soft grey color spotted onto his back.

"Aww, but that's my favorite thing to do. Nothing is as thrilling as jumping of some random cliff and surviving." Kara groaned out sarcastically, grunting as he moved on the hard wood floor.

He chuckled lightly at his own sarcasm and looked at the wolf.

"Well, I'll get you healed up in no time so you can go jump of Everest.  For now, take these. It's morphine in a tablet form, it will help a lot," he directed, looking at the hurt fox.

"Where the hell did you get morphine?!" Kara asked, shocked.

"Well my parents are both doctors. Right now I am spending my vacation out here alone. Well, I will answer another question for you just so you don't have to ask. You didn't break any bones and the worst you had was you shoulder being out of the socket, but I popped it in carefully.  As for your head, it was bleeding pretty badly from using it to knock on the door, which scared the crap out of me.  Other than that bruising all over the place, along with minor cuts and scrapes. Especially your back, which is black with bruises practically."  The wolf said placing two tablets in Kara's paws.

Kara looked at the tablets and then at the Wolf. "If you drug me then rape me, just use a condom, then drop me off at the lodge for the skiing resort." He said before popping the pills in his muzzle swallowing them down.

The wolf laughed and looked at him. "Don't worry, I'm only helping out.  So, this next thing I am going to do is going to hurt like a bitch but I have to do it, because the hard floor is, well, hard."   The wolf said before squatting down and lifting the small fox up, making him scream out in pain. Shifting painfully before setting him on the bed.

"Damn, that hurt!" Kara said groaning in pain, "well, I am still awake and the pain is actually subsiding so I think I can..."  Kara stopped mid sentence, trailing off as he looked at himself.

"WHY AM I NAKED?!"

"Oh, heh, your clothes were filthy and covered in blood, and, well, you didn't have any boxers on when I took of your pants, so I assumed you were just going commando."  He said placing a paw on the back of his head blushing softly.

"I think I'll trust you…and yes I was going commando…" He said giving the wolf a look but then laughed and pulled the covers of the bed over him. "Not to be rude or anything, but I haven't eaten in a long time…"

"Oh yes, I have something cooking right now which I need to go take care of.  One second!" He said holing up a single finger before dashing off to the kitchen.

Feeling like he could do anything on the morphine, Kara moved with ease and stood up stretching a little bit and looking at the door way.  He walked over to it feeling rigid and stiff as he did, not to mention uncomfortable since some pain was being registered but not enough to stop him.  As he stood there in the pathway, he looked down the hall which was similar to the room.  He moved down, following the smell of what seemed like spaghetti.
Finding the source he, took one big whiff of the smell and exclaimed,  "Damn that smells good!  Can't wait to taste it."

"Hey! What did I tell you? In the bed now, not to mention the fact that you're naked still."  The wolf said in a very serious tone. "No food unless you're in that bed!"

Groaning, Kara moved back to the bed, sulking.

"Fine!"

After waiting a few minutes the wolf walked in with two plates full of a large serving of spaghetti. "Okay now, scoot over. I will be joining you in bed for lunch."

Kara did so and made grabby paws at the plate starving for a bite of it. "Please, I can have some?"  He said in a cute voice.

The canine laughed heartily and handed him the plate and a fork.  "Here you go, mister fox.  Oh, what is your name any way? Mine's Alex."

"Names Kara, car-uh, so many people see I on paper and pronounce it care-uh. It's tiresome, really," Kara said looking at Alex. "Nice to meet you. I can't even begin to tell you how grateful I am for you helping me out."

"It was no trouble at all, really! I just enjoy helping people out, and also I don't get to many visitors either as you can imagine."  He said, sighing.

"Why is that? I mean you are, well you seem like you'd be real fun to hang out with."

Kara looked at him eating more, of his noodled hungrily.

"Well I won't share too much information quite yet, but something happened between me and an employee that a lot of people talk about. It gave me a bad reputation, and because how almost all of the boarders, are especially most of them being regulars who have cabins out here, I pretty much can't even show my face without being beat severely."  He said sighing.

"That is horrible! I mean really? Ruining your rep just because you did something with an employee." Kara said with a mouth full of spaghetti. "I mean what'd you do sleep with one of the male employees or something?" He added chuckling to himself.

Alex just looked at him and laughed awkwardly.

"Though that still isn't a warrant for that. I mean the only thing I can think of that would give a rep like that could possible end you up in prison."

"Enough about me, what is your reason for being stuck here?" Alex asked interested in why he is so badly beaten up.

So Kara told him about the race and his short cut.  Leaving out the little detail how his 'turn here markers' were gone and how the ice didn't help at all. After the story was finished, Alex said,

"You know I bet your trees were taken down by the storm that just rolled by.  It was the worst they have had in decades, it's the same reason I don't have phones working, and I can't leave this cabin right now."

Setting down the empty plate of spaghetti Kara looked at Alex and cleared his throat.

"Did I hear you say that we can't leave here?"
"Yup, I mean we can but you are in no condition to leave, I mean at least not for a day, and even then, that's pushing it." Alex said to Kara regretfully.

"We're stuck here, foxy."
Kara looked at him and cocked his head to the side wondering, "had the wolf really just called him foxy?"  He just shrugged and laid back.

"So you got any music or movies?"
Alex moved from the bed and finished chewing a bite of his lunch. "Yes, you don't mind eighties metal and rock do you?"
"Don't mind it? I love it! Go blast that stereo, turn up the bass and play that bitchin' music!" Kara said ecstatically. Ha rarely ever met any one who was interested in that decade.

Alex laughed and started some music, the song started with a guitar solo full of sweeps and arpeggios, one of Kara's favorite sounds produced by the guitar. "Oh man these solos just make me so happy!"

"I know! The arpeggios in it are stupid crazy good.  Nothing quite like ‘em!" Alex proclaimed enthusiastically.

Kara looked at Alex and held out his fist.

"Knuckle touch is necessary." Kara shouted.  Sure enough Alex hit his knuckles and laughed.

"Wow I haven't met anyone in a long time who loved guitar, or eighties rock as much as you.  Hell last person was my ex-boyfriend over a year and a half ago."  Alex blurted out before realizing what he said.

Just as soon as he did he blushed a deep red and put his hands over his muzzle.

"Whoa there, you're gay?" Kara said lifting an eyebrow as he looked at Alex who just nodded looking at him shyly.

"I HATE YOU, YOU FUCKING FAG!"

Alex just looked at Kara with his ears swiveled back and whimpering before Kara said, "Nah I'm just kidding it's all good, I mean who am I to judge you for liking what you like?"

Alex just socked Kara in the arm and said, "You asshole! You scared me there."

"That's what I do. So I bet you liked stripping me down, eh?" Kara said jokingly as he giggled at Alex.

"Maybe…I mean, heh, I will say your cute." He muttered blushing even more.

"WHAT?! I couldn't quiet hear that."

"I said yes."

"Louder boy!"

"YES I THOUGHT YOU ARE ONE SEXY ASS FOX!"

Kara just fell over to the side laughing heavily grabbing his side as Alex just buried his face in a pillow mortified at what he had just said to Kara.  For a few minutes more Kara rolled on the bed laughing before wheezing out of the laughing fit and hugging Alex. "Oh that was hysterical."

"Okay now I am going to go and take a shower, so just rest and listen to the music while I go wash the last bit of dignity I have."  Alex said before quickly walking out of the room.

"What a wolf, I really needed that laugh," Kara whispered to himself while moving the plates onto the nightstands so he could lay there in bed.

As he laid there he started thinking about how he looked at the mouse in the hallways, making note of his attractive form.  And now he found himself like the wolf a little more than friends, even though they had only known each other for less than an hour he liked the wolf more than he liked his friends, and he even found the wolf cute, too.

"Maybe some sleep will help clear my thoughts." He whispered once more to himself, as he drifted off to sleep.

About half an hour later Alex walked into the room. "Hey Kara do you like video games?" However he stopped and looked at the sleeping fox there on the bed and walked out giggling.

"Such a cutie."

Kara woke up around five o'clock looking at the room. "I need a change in scenery, and no wolf is going to stop me." He said out loud as he got out of bed.  As he moved out of bed he could feel pain shoot through him again. The morphine wore off, however it wasn't as bad anymore.
He stood up and walked around the room stretching a little bit before moving to the hallway where he listened for noise.  He could hear gun fire which meant movies or games so he followed the noise to find Alex shooting up zombies in a game, however it seemed the zombies were winning.

"Dude shoot at their heads!"  Kara shouted at Alex making him jump.

"Crap! Dude you scared me!" Alex said throwing a pillow at him.

"Ow! That hurt!" Kara said hold the place the pillow hit him.

"Sorry!"

"No its okay, I think I'll live."

"I hope so.",

"Yeah shoot the heads it deals triple damage in this game. This one is one of my top favorites."

Alex just laughed and patted the seat next him and places a controller there. "Join man, I am getting my ass handed to me."

"Damn right you are. Now it's time for the slayer of zombies to join in." Kara said smiling softly.

"Right, of course you are," Alex retorted at Kara, "And foxes don't sleep with anything that has two legs and a penis on it."

"Hey!  I am not a slut thank you very much; Hell I don't even like men!" Kara blurted out defending himself, however he stopped and though about that last comment.  Ever since he saw that mouse he had been thinking on that subject.  Not wanting any further inner qualms he just simply pushed that thought to the back of his head, not worrying about it for now.

"Hello?" Alex called to Kara, waving a paw in front of him. "You okay in there?"
"Huh? Yeah, I am fine I was just thinking about something, but now I am not.  Now lets whoop some zombie ass." Kara answered giggling as he picked up the controller, turning it on.
"You got it foxy." Alex agreed looking at Kara.

The two started out playing as a team, taking on the zombie horde with a small amount of ammo and a broken pipe for each character.  Working together they formed a formidable team, slaying zombies at a good rate.  As they did so they would almost read each other's thoughts looking at one another and just nodding knowing somehow what exactly to do just by looking at one another's facial expressions.  They were getting along almost as if they knew each other since birth.
After spending the better half of a few hours they finally found an end to the slaughter fest and turned off the system, setting the controller down to take a break.  "You like scary movies?" Alex inquired to Kara.
"You bet. I love horror movies more than most, though none actually scare me."  Kara informed of Alex.
"AwesomeC I know the perfect one. I have seen it four times and it still creeps me out," Alex reassured Kara, "You will get scared."
After that he ran off to go retrieve the video leaving Kara to his himself, but only for a second.  During that second he was gone though Kara had laid out across the couch and fallen asleep. "Oh, you sure were tired.  Well then, I'll save this movie for a different night."
Setting the movie down, Alex crawled onto the couch and laid next to Kara snuggling with him to keep them warm mumbling, "Good night fox" before falling asleep with his arms around the fox.
