It was early morning on a weekday, when most would be preparing for work or school, including Anna on most such mornings, but this one was different. This time, she was preparing for a flight, for a much-deserved vacation. She was on her front porch, munching a bowl of strawberries. It was a cool autumn morning, which she had bundled up for, but since she'd started she had begun shrinking slowly, her clothes now loose around her, letting more of the chilly air in. She was not worried, though. She could already feel black fur starting to grow on her body, helping to protect her from the cold. It was for the best that she was shrinking, really. By now her clothes were so loose that they weren't really being worn by her anymore, but rather resting upon and around her. As a result, her arms and hands were free to change unimpeded, slowly transforming into large bat wings. Well, large compared to much of her body, at least. As she bit into the last strawberry, her mouth and nose grew into a long, black-furred muzzle. She continued shrinking down, her fur finishing growing in as her body finished reshaping. She felt her ears move toward the top of her head, becoming pointed, as her feet reshaped into paws. After finishing the last strawberry, she looked herself over, stepping out of her discarded clothing. She was a fruit bat now. She looked down at the empty bowl and the discarded clothing. Those would need tending, eventually. But for right now, she looked up and saw a colony of bats. It was time for her vacation to begin.
