Blight approached the containers slowly, muttering an incantation to bring her mystical shield up around her. When she looked at them from the walkway she counted about a dozen or so crates altogether. Many of them looked big enough to carry statues and other large types of objects while the rest were of varying lengths and sizes. The only thing they had in common was that they were all make with wooden paneling and none of them had any significant markings on them whatsoever. Taking into account that the warehouse was also supposed to be empty, Blight couldn’t help but feel a slight chill run up her spine. She made the quick decision to go for a container looked on the far end that was long and quite slim. Her reasoning was that it couldn’t contain anything truly dangerous and if it did she would have plenty of room to jump back to saftey. Gripping the lid with both hands, she had to jimmy it a little bit before she could pull it off. Once she pried it off, she pushed around bits of straw only to see something she wasn’t expecting at all. Underneath the straw were several trinkets with a small card below them that read “Egypt Dig”. She could only assume that these were found in Egypt, but they didn’t look quite right. Inside were what look to be bracelets, pairs of earrings, and a single necklace that looked like they could be on display at a highly priced jewelry store. Sensing something was amiss she waved her hand above the trinkets and spoke a word of power. Instantly the jewelry inside changed form to look more like traditional ancient Egyptian artifact, and with another word she was able to discern what each item did by glancing at the strands of mystical energy emanating from them. It turned out the earrings would amplify a command aimed at an individual and they would be unable to disobey it, while the bracelets would help by making someone more susceptible to the sway of words, But it was the necklace that interested her the most. In essence, if one were to wear the necklace and the necklace was charged with energy, it would make the wearer the instant center of attention. She tried to reach to examine the object more closely, but her hand floated above the box unable to reach in any further. After giving a few pushes for good measure, she sighed to herself and shook her head. She then began to examine the box closely, racking it over with her mystic vision, until she finally came upon a seal that appeared to prevent magic users from detecting the contents inside of the crate as well as preventing those same users from touching them. It would take someone who had no mystical power to pick up the items, but Blight had no patience to wait for someone like that to come along. Stepping away from the crate, she weaved a spell with both of her hands as she closed her eyes in concentration. Energy twisted and turned around her as she summoned the power of the ancients before finally throwing her hands to the side and saying a word. A gentle wave of energy swept outwards from her and it was with great pleasure that she felt the various mystical seals being taken apart. Weaving a new enchantment over her eyes, she looked at the crates to see if there were any more mystical artifacts located within them. Not surprisingly, nearly all of the crates lit up with items of power and some of them were quite a bit more powerful than others. As she looked over item after item, she realized that the vast majority would be of great use to business owners and entrepreneurs looking to get ahead in the world. There were whispers in the ether as well as the underground about an black market where such items were sold for untold sums of money, but she never thought in her wildest dreams she would find herself in the midst of a shipment of such items. However, before she could consider contacting Evernight with an update, one box in particular caught her eye. It wasn’t because the box gave a more powerful aura then the rest, but it was because it gave off no aura whatsoever. Not even a sliver of magic to indicate that the artifact was in hibernation or anything. The closer Blight looked at the box, the more her suspicion meter tilted into the red zone. Putting the lid back on top of the crate she had been examining, she made her way over to the crate keeping it firmly in her sights. A rattling sound caused her to jump in fright and she whipped around holding an energy bolt at the ready to be hurled at any attackers. After a few cautious seconds, she looked up to see that the rafters were rattling as light went past it. She breathed a sigh of relief, releasing the spell she had conjured as she figured a passing car or truck caused them to rattle just then. Laughing lightly, she shook her hands a bit to get the jitters out. “Really shouldn’t have read those case files” she muttered to herself in the dark. “I’m getting to be way too paranoid.” Standing before the crate in question, she put her hands on her hips as she tried to deduce what was inside. Could it be a dud relic, one whose powers faded a long time ago or even had none to begin with? Or perhaps a piece of technology which doesn’t give off an aura but is just as dangerous? She had no real way of knowing, so as a precaution she intensified the shielding aura around her as she pried the top of the crate off. It creaked slightly as it was tugged loose, but soon enough she got it off then set it to the side. Very slowly she pulled the straw away to reveal a small shield looking item about the size of her palm. It was in the rough shape of a police badge but its markings were all wrong. Instead of a star at its center, there was a knotted rope coiled around itself. Where “POLICE” was normally inscribed at the top, in its place was wording in a language she had never encountered before. Given that she is a user of mystical energy and has been around the block when it comes to magic, this was quite the significant discovery. The metal itself was also foreign to her. At best she mused that it could be alien in origin or even some kind of extra-dimensional law enforcement badge. She knew in that very same market of black market magic items such a badge would net a nifty little profit to whomever sold it. Believing she was safe as well as curious about what it could do, she lowered her mystical shield as well as reached slowly to touch the surface of the badge. However, she knew she made a mistake when the badge began to glow an ominous red. Re-intensifying her shield, she threw her arms in front of her as a burst of red energy hit her hard enough to send her crashing into the crate behind her. Feeling the air rush out of her lungs, she fell to the ground with a grunt of pain. Laid out on the floor she took a moment to catch her breath, but a quick glance around her showed that some kind of mist was condescending around her. Being slightly worried went to full panic when she realized that whatever that burst of energy had been it completely took out her shield leaving her effectively naked to supernatural forces. Scrambling to her feet, she weaved her hands before her and shouted a word of power. Energy swirled to her outwardly turned palms as she fired an energy blast at the fog. A hole was punched through it, but before she could feel triumphant the fog reformed in that area. It twitched a bit as if it was agitated, then tendrils whipped out looking to grab at Blight. Images of the case files flashed through Blight’s mind as she leapt out of the way of the oncoming tendrils. It proved to be futile as one of them changed direction to snag her ankle pulling her out of her half dive. Thumping once more onto the ground, she rolled to her back and quickly tried to weave another blasting spell. The fog, in a move that seemed to showcase some form of intelligence, forms two tendrils one around each of her wrists and pulled her hands apart cancelling the spell. She cried in shock as she was then hoisted into the air by her hands as they were pulled together. The tendrils formed into a sort of transparent cable that weaved its way around her hands then flattened out like some form of tape to effectively lock them together. She pulled and tugged with all of her might but her fingers refused to budge an inch, but her attention immediately focused on her ankles as the now smoky coils wrapped themselves around them. Once they did, much to her dismay, they reached out to other to form a bar that kept her feet firmly apart. However she turned her attention back to her hands as, with a shocked gasp escaping her lips, she saw that she was being hoisted higher into the air as the coils were wrapping themselves on a nearby ceiling beam. As she rose higher and higher into the air struggling for all she was worth, she finally had enough. Taking a deep breath, she yelled at the top of her lungs. "Evernight! Enough is enough! I could use a ha-MMGPH!" Her words were cut short as a long coil of the cable wrapped around her mouth. She then felt it expand into a thick ball pushing her mouth wide open as it also buried itself further into her mouth. Once that was done, it then formed a thick plate over her lips that had symbols that if she had seen them would be unrecognizable. However their usage became quickly apparent to her as she felt her mystical powers fade from her consciousness to a place in her mind that she couldn’t access easily. Once her magic was effectively sealed, the fog seemed to consciously take its time. The bar that was keeping her legs apparent formed new coils that connected to the highest crates in the pile. As it firmly attached itself to the crate, both the coils holding her wrists and the coils on her ankles pulled her until she was as taut as a violin string. She twisted and struggled the whole time this was happening, mmping angrily into her gag, but it was to no avail. The rest of the fog then condensed underneath her as if considering its next course of action. Remembering once more what happen to the other girls, she widen her eyes in horror as a blush came onto her face and struggled as hard as she could to get free. Unconcerned, new coils started to form within the fog beneath her that was rather dark in color. They reached up slowly like snakes to the tune of a flute wrapping themselves sinuously around her legs ending at her thighs. They then formed a secondary bar to keep her from closing her legs before moving once more upwards rubbing themselves against her exposed skin. She involuntarily moaned at this treatment even though she tried her very best not to react at all. The moan, however, seemed to encourage the fog further as it reached up underneath her skirt pushing it up to rub her sex lightly. Twisting and writhing against it, it formed what appeared to be an extremely tight crotch rope with little orbs rubbing themselves on the inside of her sex. She moaned even more into her gag, twisting her hips this way and that defiant to the last. This only encouraged the fog even more making it tug on itself, it also reaching up from her skirt towards the top of her blouse while also preventing her skirt from covering her lacy panties. The coils began to slowly push the buttons off her shirt which caused the blush on her cheeks to spread towards the rest of her face. She did her best to try and shake the coils off by swinging her chest around, but it was just as futile as her previous struggles. In no time at all her shirt was completely unbuttoned showing a matching lacy bra to the world which was then also being tugging down for the coils to assail her now erect nipples. This torment continued for some time as, forgetting all pretenses of secrecy, the coils rubbed all her pleasure spots in such a way that she when she finally had her orgasm it felt as if her whole body was on fire. Embarrassed to have been so completely humiliated by sentient smoke, she felt a wave of pressure beneath her. Dredging what she would find, it turned out that the badge that started this whole mess was now in the midst of a steady pulse. Without her mystical senses she had no idea what it could possibly be doing, but suddenly she felt a wave of dizziness come upon as the coils of cord renewed there vigorous efforts on her as the world then slowly faded to black. She awoke on the cold hard floor of the warehouse as the first hint of sunlight began to appear through the dirty windows. She sat up slowly, head aching from her previous ordeal, only for said ordeal to come rushing back into her mind. Thinking that her breasts were still on display, she covered them quickly as she made a wild glance around her. Curiously there was nothing around her, and with a start she realized that crates were gone. Even as this thought down on her she cupped her chest protectively only to feel cloth rather than flesh. When she looked down she saw that her clothing had reverted to normal and when she inspected her sex she found it to be wanting but untouched. Standing up slowly for she was a bit sore from her time on the ground, she looked around more carefully to see that the warehouse was empty. Raising her hand to her face, she snapped her fingers to see if her magic was intact. Much to her relief sparks came into being as she snapped indicating her powers had returned, but once again she found herself puzzled by what just happened. Could it be that what she had experienced had been an illusion or perhaps she had been rendered unconscious? It was also feasible that while she was unconscious and experiencing that very realistic scenario, whoever actually owned the goods came and took them without waking her up. She guessed they figured she was incapacitated enough to where further restraints were unnecessary. There were no clues that the stuff had been moved, no tier tracks or footprints and no residue magic she could trace, and her body was both sore and aching for satisfaction after the previous ordeal. All and all, this investigation was a failure. She sighed and shook her head when she came to that conclusion. "Damn it all to Hades" she cursed, though being careful to whisper the god’s name. After last night, and it was last night as the sunlight made painfully clear to her, she didn’t want any more unwanted attention. Focusing her magic around her, she levitated herself to the window she had let herself in from. However, before she floated out she looked up at the ceiling curiously. During her ordeal she remembered being attached to a beam on the ceiling. But from she could see the ceiling had no beams that she could have been attached to. Surely that was impossible, since she could have sworn…. Before this moment she had felt embarrassed and ashamed of her failure in her mission. Now she was less embarrassed and more annoyed by being made into a plaything by whatever resided in that badge. Levitating fully out of and away from the warehouse, she casted a warp spell that took her directly to her apartment. All she wanted right was a cleansing bath in some herbal water to rid her of any lingering magical energy from the night before and sleep. Before she could do that, her personal magic mirror crackled and thundered to get her attention. Sighing to herself, she walked in front of it and waved her hand since it only meant one thing. "Bad night? I tried to contact you, young one." The voice was cool and almost ethereal as it seemed to echo into itself. Evernight, the demon turned hero of the city, took up most of the mirror as his eyes gazed at her almost as if peering into her soul. "A little. I went to the warehouse as ordered and with some snooping around I discovered that the warehouse contained many powerful mystical artifacts. Upon further investigation I was ill prepared for one particular artifact that was booby trapped.” she spoke truthfully, since lying to a demon was a bad idea, “Fortunately I wasn’t captured, but I fell unconscious after…..well I fell unconscious. The warehouse was cleared of everything by the time I came too, but after I catch my second wind I will return to my mission." She tactfully decided to leave out just what happened before she was rendered unconscious. If Evernight was responsible then he already knew, but if he wasn’t then it was a bad idea to give him any ideas. He looked at her a moment and tilted his head slightly to the side. She had seen that many times before for it was his way of showing something she didn't. "What?" she asked bluntly. "A large shipment of mystical artifacts had been recovered this morning by Miss Zap. She was on the other side of the city, no doubt attempting to get into some mischief, when she came upon the shipment. The guards were easy enough to deal with and once the items were identified as mystical in nature they were naturally sent to experts of the field." Blight just shook her head in response. "Well I am glad they were recovered since some of them can be quite dangerous in the wrong hands. Just tell whoever is studying them not to touch strange police badge, that was the artifact that got me." He tilted his head the other way and then lightly shook his head. "Do get your rest my dear for you seem to be quite exhausted. When you have the time I left you a small package your quarters, should be of some use to you in the future. I keyed it to your specific aura so you and you alone will be able to activate it. I’ll be in touch." With that the conversation ended suddenly with the connection on Evernight’s end being severed. The mirror took its clear appearance showing her reflection once more. Now it was her turn to tilt her head to the side, curious as to what he meant by a package. With a shrug, she turned to her study waving the mask to dissipate from her face. As red tendrils of smoke drifted away from her, she opened the door to her study only to straighten in confusion. On her cluttered desk with scrolls and parchment there was a rather small box with a bow on top. She stepped into the room lightly removing the buttons from her shirt in preparation for the bath she desperately wanted. Picking up the box, she flipped the lid off then tossed the box from her in frightened panic. The box tumbled through the air landing on her bed then falling on its side. The object within the box rolled out to show that it was in fact a small shield, roughly palm sized and shaped similarly to a police badge and looked like the one that tormented her so last night. It flashed red just as she remembered and the fog like vapor began to rise from it. She turned for the door only to have it slammed shut by a lightning quick tendril. She looked at the fog in dread as multiple tendrils formed and danced in front of her eyes. “Ah crap.”
