Expending a little more mystical energy, Blight smoothed her descent into the warehouse. Landing as light as cat, she quickly scanned the surrounding area to make sure no one saw her come in. As she looked around she noticed that it was quite dark in here, with only a few weak emergency lights at the warehouse’s exits as well as a lamp someone forgot to turn off in a small office on the far side of the building. Above her she noticed a walkway that lead to another office on the upper floor, but both the walkway and the office seem to be devoid of people. Muttering a word of power, she waved a hand over her eyes to allow her to see in the near pitch black darkness around her. What she noticed immediately was that she was surrounded by crates and containers, which was standard for a warehouse, but the fact that none of them had any markings was starting to make her feel uneasy. The other worrying detail about her surroundings was that there were no obvious signs of any hi-tech weaponry at all and that just made her even more worried than before. Shaking her head lightly, she resolved that there was no point in worrying. She was committed now and she might as well get on with doing what she was tasked with. Choosing the lit office as her first stop, she stepped light keeping her back to one of the containers while continuously looking around to make sure she wasn’t ambushed. As she made her way through the darkness, Blight’s mind wandered back to that pile of case files She had read on the previous partners of Evernight. One in particular came to mind that was appropriate for her surroundings. The heroine in the file was named Miss Zap, an internet personality that uses her patented blog bot to film her heroic exploits to then be posted on the internet. She had her own website dedicated to it, with pictures and videos showcasing her in her heroic steampunk themed glory. On occasions when she is feeling really daring she will even livestream the event to followers of her website to showcase her exploits in real time. In fact, her approach to blogging was so popular she even sold a few blog-bots to other blogger heroes and news businesses to make a tidy profit enough to live quite comfortably. As a lady of science, she had scoffed at the very notion of the supernatural and made her disbelief very much apparent at Evernight’s mystical background. She was convinced that he was nothing more than smoke and mirrors, an illusionist that scares the pants off of the criminal element. From what she saw in the files, Blight felt that someone went out of their way to prove her wrong. It was around two years ago when the incident happen. Evernight had been in the middle of a fierce battle of a band of cultist that was determined to banish him from this realm in order to then recapture him and take his power for their own. As the tide turned against the cultist, they decided to abandon that scheme in favor for something more direct. All over the city, at the exact same time, portals of dark energy opened for other cultists to pour out of and act various heroes around the city. This provided to be a poor move, for the heroes they attacked fought back with great fervor. Miss Zap, on the other hand, was in the midst of one of her many investigations while all of this was going on. There had been a string of robberies of extremely high priced goods from various museums as well as the homes of the wealthy. She “volunteered” herself to the case and got a juicy tip about a warehouse filled with goods just like the one Blight was in. On this particular adventure she was livestreaming to her followers, and just as she was about to uncover what she believed to be one of the most important events of her career, the unexpected happen. No less than a dozen portals of dark energy sprang to life around her. But rather than cultists jumping out to attack her, tendrils of darkness shot out and started grabbing at her. Because the attack was so sudden and so quick, Miss Zap couldn’t even bring her weapon out to attack. Instead it was slapped from her grip as the tendrils wrapped themselves around her arms and her legs. Holding her arms out and pulling her legs apart, the tendrils then began to act quite lewdly as they rubbed themselves over her body as well as exploring some very private areas of her sex. She struggled as hard as she could against them, but it was no use. Even the moment she opened her mouth to yell for help a tendril wrapped itself between her teeth rendering her silent. The tendrils in her dress explored her sex a bit more, sensuously rubbing all the right areas to the point where Miss Zap couldn’t help but to climax repeatedly. Much to her future embarrassment, the blog bot was hovering around her still showing this to her audience in real time. They saw as she was groped, spanked, and manipulated into all kinds of compromising situations that she would never have been caught dead doing otherwise. According to the file she was quite the flirt on camera, even going so far as taunting her fans as they wished to see her being bound up like many other heroines on more dubious sites, but never in her wildest dreams would she imagine this happening to her. Once she had climaxed for the third time, the tendrils then formed into bands of energy that continued to restrain her. Raising her up into the air as she weakly thrashed and struggle, the tendrils began to strip her of her techy uniform piece by piece all of which was being caught on camera. This brought fresh energy to the weakened woman as she renewed her struggled tenfold. Luckily for her, the tendrils were barely beginning to remove her underwear when Evernight came in from out of the blue to take out both the tendrils as well as the hovering blog bot. Nearly naked and extremely embarrassed, she had mutter a quite thank you to Evernight as she raced home to get a fresh change of clothes and maybe to hide out for a while. Unfortunately for her, the blog bot auto uploaded the entire video to her website as soon as it was destroyed. When she tried to take it down, she had been dismayed to find out that it continued to pop up across the web on many heroine-in-peril themed websites. On the plus side, her website went from having two hundred regular followers to two thousand seemingly overnight. That perked her spirits up quite a bit, according to the file. The one interesting thing that caught Blight's eye in the file though was that all the other heroes were actually attacked by worshipers of dark powers or vile creatures of darkness. Miss Zap, on the other hand, had been attacked by what could only have been sentient tendrils of darkness whose aim was to humiliate rather than to harm. Although it were possible that the cultists were aiming to hurt Evernight through her, she had a sneaky suspicion that Evernight was responsible once again, and made a mental note to keep an eye on his abilities more closely in future. Blight made it to the office and opened the door as quietly as she could. Much to her surprise there was no alarm attached to the door or if there was it wasn’t activated. She walked inside to take a look around but much to her disappointment there was only a few worker schedules left and no computer. She did a quick check of the drawers only to find a bottle of old whiskey as well as some family pictures. It was nothing that would help her investigation at all, so she left feeling a tad frustrated. Deciding that the next place for her search would be the office on the upper floor, she quickly scouted around for the stairs to the upper walkway. After she found it she ascended as quickly as she could but always keeping her eyes moving in case there were any threats. Once again she found that there were no cameras, no guards, not even an old lazy dog. The hairs on the back of her neck stood on end as she made her way quickly, but also quietly, across the walkway what appeared to be manager's office. At the office’s door, she put her back to the wall and reached out for the handle. Even though she turned it as slowly as possible, it made a loud click that almost made Blight jump out of her skin in fright. Shaking her head once more to rid herself of the jitters, she pushed the door open as wide as possible and stepped into the doorway. Waving her hand in a slight circle while her fingers twisted in complex gestures, a small ball of light appeared to make the room a tad brighter for her to see. The spell over her eyes had worn off a while ago and the ball of light was easier on her magical resources. The office, once it was sufficiently illuminated, appeared to be neat and tidy. Luckily for her this office had a computer, and it was on standby which she considered to be doubly lucky. Checking the computer she quickly located the shipping manifests. Bringing them up onto the screen, she scanned it quickly but just as quickly became puzzled by what she was reading. While the shipments being brought in coincided with what she saw over the course of the day, the manifests also said that the crates were also shipped out the same day and that the warehouse was supposed to be empty for the weekend. Something was definitely fishy here. Resolving that stealth outweighed the need for magic conservation, Blight extinguished her little light and recasted the enchantment over her eyes. She quickly slipped out of the office and looked over at the seven large crates sitting in the middle of the warehouse, with no markings, shipping stamps, or even an address marked on them. Slowly she made her way across the walkway, deciding that this mission was not going the way she thought it would. Keeping an eye on the one truck loading bay across the way for she was expecting it to burst open at any moment, she held her breath and began to walk towards the containers...
