My Eve ------ Life I draw from beneath her skin while inside, on me, she feeds within. My spirit quickened the day we wed, she breathed me in, redeemed my body from the dead. Then she swallowed. I live in her. She who blessed a mongrel, graced a cur; the earth a spring whereon she tread, the stones a gushing, living fountainhead -- I lick the dirt, I lap the pool grateful that she deigns to love a fool. Then she lifts me up, embraces me, and gives herself entirely to sanctify to consecrate, immortalize, incarnate; and I, at last, I drink and live by the pure, sweet love a woman gives: the sacred gift of total trust that brought forth life from Adam's dust.
