"I'll be Building a Snowman"


I'll be building a snowman this evening,
when the heavens have starlight to share.
Though he won't have the typical trimmings,
like a scarf or a top hat to wear.

I'll be building a snowman this evening,
he'll have wonderful strawberry eyes.
They'll be redder than red and so charming,
and bring joy to the folks passing by.

I'll be building a snowman this evening,
he'll wear overalls bluer than blue.
I'll apply them like mom does her apron;
they'll be trendy and comfortable too.

I'll be building a snowman this evening,
he'll be wearing a straw-threaded hat.
It will help him stay cool when it's sunny,
and I'm sure he'll appreciate that.

I'll be building a snowman this evening,
he'll shake hands with his flourishing sprigs.
I've been saving them just for this moment,
since they're lively unlike winter's twigs.

I'll be building a snowman this evening,
a banana will serve as his smile.
It will shine like the sun and make public--
that he's happy with how he's been styled.

Yes I'm building a snowman this evening:
come and see, come and see, it'll be fun!
I'll be giving him just the right garments,
so he'll stay when the winter is done.
