One moment Iron was enjoying a nice little break at home. He was tired of his job and the management overlords that shadowed over him. He just wanted a nice little life, maybe work on a few cars here and there. There were too many prejudices against coyotes in this city. The yote didn’t care too much; he just wished that they would stop thinking of him as a lazy, good-for-nothing trash mutt. Iron had to admit that he did care a bit, if only because he wanted more hours which correlated to more money. Maybe then he could get a new microwave. His current microwave radiated a green light. It shined so much that when turned on the yote swore it was going to explode. But as long as the microwave worked then Iron didn’t have to buy a new one. Not like he could afford one anyway at the moment. Smoke started to fill the room, and Iron remembered the Hot Pocket he had started to heat up. What could possibly happen now? The coyote ran to the microwave and stopped it. The meat pastry was burnt to a crisp. Iron didn’t have much time to clean up the crisp of a pastry before suddenly the microwave turned back on. The door wasn’t closed, it shouldn’t have been able to even turn on. A bit of quick thinking and he slyly unplugged the machine, thinking that would turn it off. After all, without power how could it even function? The microwave didn’t turn off though. In fact, the glow got brighter and brighter. The yote started to panic, if only because he didn’t want to be cooked in his own house. Iron finally closed the door before grabbing his phone. Should he call tech support? Or maybe the fire department? It could be a fire hazard; why did he ever buy that antique thing in the first place? He should have purchased the toaster oven. He called the fire department, calmly walking back towards the kitchen to monitor the situation. The glow grew brighter and all encompassing. Iron wasn’t even the room, yet it blinded him. He couldn’t stay any longer, just too bad his door to his little apartment was in through the kitchen where the microwave was. A gulp and a prayer later the yote ran into the green light. Nothing felt different; Iron thought maybe it was just light and that he shouldn’t be afraid. But soon something hit him and it hit him hard. Some force shot itself like a beam into Iron’s chest just as he ran into the kitchen. It knocked him out, if he wasn’t flying through the air he would have thought someone fired a laser beam at him. Time seemed to have slowed as the coyote witnessed the green light fade from existence. There was a window right behind him, the yote smashed through it as his vision grew green. His place was only two stories tall, not a big fall, but the air time never came. It didn’t make any sense for the ground to meet his back so soon. It seemed that he had just flew out his window, he still had a few seconds of airtime. Holding his head the green started to fade. The Coyote’s vision started to return only to reveal a rather unbelievable situation. Had time stopped? Was he flying? A skyline of a setting sun over an aerial view of the small town he occupied. After a bit, the coyote realized that it wasn’t that he was flying; it was that everything was so small! Flashing lights began to pop up all over the little town. Even into the distance to some of the connected cities tiny lights began to make their way toward their small little city. Below was the shitty apartment that once occupied him. The clothes he had on never made it. Apparently whatever grew him didn’t have the same courtesy to cover his private parts. The yote was completely exposed. Looking around he could see his hips and legs dig into the ground. It seemed that he was heavy enough to cause damage without even meaning it. He had to be taking up entire blocks under his rear. Not to mention the casual flick to the tail swept entire buildings and cars as if they were dust particles being swept under a rug. A smirk grew over the yote’s muzzle. Fuck everything, this was exactly what he needed. Putting a hand into the ground in front of him, Iron saw how easily the ground succumbed to his weight. Using his new post, the yote dragged himself up. He brushed off what remained of the little city under him and studied the damage. His paws dug into the ground, piling dirt around his toes with each step. Blocks of the city crumpled as if they were made of sand. Iron quickly realized that no matter what he did, by just existing the city could not contain him. It was almost crazy how much power he had by just standing there. Each step caused residual destruction from the boulders and rubble that rained down from his previous steps. The wind from a passing foot was enough to knock down buildings. Everything he did was on such a different scale that soon the city just didn’t exist anymore. Iron supposed he could find another job later on. Flashes of fire lit up around his torso. They didn’t sting so much as surprise Iron into falling backward. The ground caved underneath him as inch by inch of his body sank into the earth itself. The rushing air from him falling had the same effect as a nuclear bomb to the surrounding countryside. Wind tore trees, buildings, everything, up away from the surrounding coyote crater. The yote got back up only to see that the city that was once covered in footprints, was now just an imprint of his entire body. Everywhere surrounding the imprint was the visible debris from the resulting shockwave. Iron couldn’t help but smirk at just what he was capable of without even trying. Perhaps the next city would give him more insight into just what the coyote could do. A couple steps and he was already on the verge of another town. The yote wondered just how tall he was as he squatted down to inspect the already fleeing people below him. They were like a colony of insects, it felt surreal. The green light began to return to his eyes. This time Iron felt a little surprise, or fear at just what was going to happen. Would he be turned back to normal? Had he just squandered his tiny amount of time with the accidental destruction of his city? What would the green light change this time? For the first time he felt crippling fear of the unknown. For a moment he was the mightiest being on the world, but now things may have just changed. The green blinded him. Iron tried to feel what was happening, only for a blank sensation to overtake him. He felt like nothing, everything was just normal. When the green finally wore off; and his vision returned all he could see was the vast nothingness of space. The massive yote then turned around and see the sun shine with such an intense shine that Iron couldn’t glance for more than a second. Beneath his paws was the now tiny globe that once seemed so infinitely large to him. But now, his paws were bending and shaping the world below him. The oval of the planet now seemed to curve around his feet. Lava began to seep as iron wondered just what was going to happen to him now that he was bigger than the entire world? The eyes started to turn green again, another change so soon? Just what was going to happen to him again? Something seemed different this time. The green vision flickered, it was almost nauseating. He tried to close his eyes, but was unable to do so. In fact it felt as though he didn’t have control of his body anymore as the green light began to fade. He could see, but could do nothing as his body looked down at his own paws and forcibly stomped into planet he once called home. The kick launched himself through the vastness of space. The planet scattered into many glowing balls of light as the molten core of the planet seeped. His home was now just a bunch of space rocks glowing in the destruction of his own kick off. Iron had no idea how any of this was possible, or what was going to happen to him. Endlessly floating through space as a giant coyote was not how he planned his life, but he accepted. It was rather calming. No more trouble, no more worries. The green light never returned, and eventually he regained his motor skills. Maybe a nap was in order, he had to come up with an idea on how a microwave just destroyed the entire world. Maybe he should have spent the extra cash on the toaster oven.
