How To Train Your Lycanroctober Monster Rumbling groans of pain shook the darkened laboratory when two, giant-sized Pokemon began to wake. A Charizard and Buizel lay with their backs against a tall, white wall with legs outstretched on the cool linoleum floor. Neither was ordinarily this tall, nearly 200 feet tall each. They’d been somehow grown and tied up in here. “Oogh, where am I?” Buizilla asked, eyes half-lidded as he tried to shake off drowsiness. Thank goodness the fluorescent lights above hadn’t been turned on overnight or he might’ve woken up to a worse headache. Only the sunroof above was open, allowing the rising sun to start illuminating a lab space. The Buizel tried bringing a hand to his head to rub away the tender pain only to find that his arms wouldn’t move. Or more accurately, they could move but not very far. A clanging, jingling sound of metal on metal alerted him to the chains holding his arms fast. What the…? Who’d spend the time to tie him up? Anyone who knew him would also know he could change sizes, shrinking to escape bonds or growing to just outright destroy them. Looking down an even more important question arose: their pants had been taken off, folded neatly in a corner. Why- “Bui? Is that you?” the second captive groaned. That sounded just like his boyfriend Bk, Buizilla realized. His head turned to the left and- yes, that was definitely Bk in his Gigantimax form. The black scarf with a blue charm gave it away even at his enlarged scale. God he looked hot like this. No, he’d look even better if they weren’t tied up and captive somewhere. Stay focused. “Yeah, it’s me Bk. Are you okay?” “Urf, my head hurts from something. Did we go out drinking yesterday or something?” “Nope, this isn’t a hangover. I don’t remember getting naked or tied up with chains after our drinking or anything.” That drew Bk’s attention as the dragon instantly woke up, eyes wide and tugging at his own chains. He huffed a gout of annoyed flame from his nose. “Not unless it’s a way kinkier night for us. How’d we get here then? For that matter, where IS here?” When neither had an answer, they both sighed. Silence returned to the room as they tried to remember the events of last night. The two had been enjoying their month together, taking a relatively damage-free walk around the city. There was a nice breeze under Bk’s wings, and Bui remembered stopping for food at a drive-in Sonic. Not to mention the absurd portions they needed to order, and Bk insisting on just ripping things out of the restaurant to eat. But their memories quickly became muddy after that. There was some smoke or haze over the memories, and maybe… a gas canister? Yes, Bk was sure he could remember seeing some tanks rolled over the street and spewing smoke. They’d possibly been drugged. Thinking back on those pressurized canisters, the dragon was sure he’d seen a logo on it before everything went white. GroLabs, it said. Neither was certain just how they were brought here after passing out. Although it was clear that Alkali was responsible for whatever had captured Bk and Buizilla, they didn’t know anything beyond that fact. The bigger question was why this happened anyway, rather than how. With no way to figure the answer, the giants were forced to wait it out for anyone to arrive that could help. Flying Pokemon tweeted summer songs at each other to greet the day, but hours passed with no one checking up on the bound kaiju. It was long enough that Bui found himself dozing off again, despite the uncomfortable bindings. Bk kept busy trying to spread his wings and see if he could leverage the wall to break his chains. No luck, unfortunately. Without warning a set of double doors opened at the far side of the lab, down at floor level between Buizilla and Bk. The kaiju craned their necks to look down. A giant Dewott wearing a tight fitting labcoat and shorts walked in with a flourish. “Good morning, Bk, Bui. Did you sleep well? Er, as well as you can considering the restraints,” the Dewott asked nonchalantly, as if having them locked up in the lab was nothing out of the ordinary. Buizilla sighed with relief. “Oh man, I’m glad to see you Al. There’s been a misunderstanding. We got kidnapped last night and tied up here overnight. Can you help us get out?” The ‘wott shook their head, shrugging. “Can’t do it this time because I’m the one that captured you two.” They removed glasses from their face, set it on a lab bench, and moved on to pulling their labcoat free. "It's Lycanroctober, so why not take advantage of the chance?" “You could literally just ask us to visit GroLabs. We know where it is, this isn’t a secret,” Bk said, deadpan. “W…Well that wouldn’t have been as much fun as tying you up,” the Dewott admitted. They shuffled their feet awkwardly on the ground, pressing pointer fingers together bashfully in front of their chest. Bui and Bk exchanged a glance, speaking volumes between them without saying a word. “Come on, play along? Please? I can’t write the story if you aren’t at least playing into being a restrained kaiju.” Both struggled to keep the grin from their face before pulling at the chains, deciding to indulge the otter scientist. The thick metal creaked from the force, individual links clanking against each other making noise loud enough to fill the lab. Walls behind them groaned against the force but didn’t break. Alkali’s tail swished back and forth, satisfied that they were willing to play along. Thank goodness. Putting together this situation took weeks of work after all. --- Buizilla panted, resting with his back against the wall, trying to get a second wind after an entire day of teasing. "H-Hey… Al… why do you have this setup anyway? And the chains?" he asked. The chains weren’t broken at least, but they had seen use. And not from the pulling that the Buizel and Charizard did. Plus, it would take a much longer time than ‘a few weeks’ to get this whole room and restraints built. "You'll see why. I had to have something to keep myself under control," Alkali said. “But tonight both of you are using those restraints so I’m free. Besides, it’s October, spooky month. Why not enjoy some werewolf fun?” The light of a full moon entered the lab space, with a sunroof letting the stars and moonlight peek inside. The Dewott wrapped arms around his torso as if he had a sudden stomachache. “Alkali? You okay?” Bk asked, squinting at him. ‘Werewolf fun’ didn’t sound like a bad thing, but he didn’t know what sort of werewolf was about to come out. The fun and fluffy kind? Dangerous and bloodthirsty? There were lots of options when it came to this particular monster. “I’m… fine… grrrrrr,” he growled, trying to sound better than he looked. The Dewott’s fur started to grow out to be much longer and thicker, covering the blue with a mix of blue and white. He tossed his glasses to the ground, taking an uneasy step backward to steady himself. The rapidly canine-shaped paws he transformed into slowly grew over the glasses crushing them under his toes. His unathletic, otter shaped frame started to stretch taller, arms and legs lengthening to become lankier, more like a twunk than an out-of-shape scientist. The shape of his muzzle elongated, with sharp teeth peeking out past his lips, fangs meant for a carnivorous wolf. His hat was thrown to the ground as a thick mane of white fur sprouted out of the top of his head and spread down his back. It grew around the sides of his torso, ending in thick and solid rocks that wrapped around his chest and stomach like claws. Fortunately he’d already pulled his clothes off, so that the burst upward from 12 feet tall to 120 feet tall wasn’t enough to shred his lab coat and pants. Buizilla and Bk watched with horror as the Dewott finished his transformation into an enormous midnight Lycanroc. Alkali arched his back and howled up to the ceiling of GroLabs, vibrating the lab and shattering the sunroof’s glass. With a sigh of relief, Alkali scratched at the back of his ear with a now much sharper handpaw’s claw. “Aaahhhh, another month of waiting, finally free for some fun- ohhh, who’s this?” the werewolf Pokemon asked. “Alkali? Is that you in there?” Bui asked cautiously. The wolf Pokemon giggled, smiling a knowing smile. “He’s in here with me too. I’m Alkali too, just a different version. You get me for the night instead~” Buizilla hadn’t seen this side of Alkali before, but he could guess that this was probably another personality. Different memories whenever he went from otter to werewolf. Alkali wasn’t waiting or giving explanations. He jumped from the ground to land on the Charizard’s stomach. Bk squinted at the Lycanroc, another gout of smoke snorted from his nostrils. “There’s no way you’re going to keep us locked up here forever, we’ll get out soon-” “Yup, the Dewott will probably let you out. But that still gives me time out for the evening. Werewolf, y’know?” the Lycanroc said, rubbing the Charizard’s belly with a wink. --- Alkali rested against Bk’s torso, panting from the effort. That was great… why didn’t he come out more often to do this again? Sure, it was partly the full moon, but something else was holding back their other half from indulging… oh well. They could talk it out later and figure out what was happening- Alkali’s thoughts halted when he looked around the lab. This was the first time he’d been allowed access to the lab without being tied down. Usually the Dewott side was careful to be tied up before the transformation. But tonight? Full access. Nothing stopping the Lycanroc from using growth tech to their heart’s content. The wolf’s tail wagged as he realized the opportunity he’d been given. He hopped off the Charizard’s chest, landing with a lab-shaking thump that cracked the tiled floor. Most of the technology here was too small to be used by thick, chunky Lycanroc fingers. But a size ray was always available for use, designed to be used even at large or small sizes. Alkali grabbed a device off the nearest bench and turned off the safety with a careful claw. Once turned off, the ray started to beep and expand in rhythmic growth spurts. It was designed to reach the user’s height once the safety was off, and that gave the Lycanroc exactly the tool needed. "Let's take this party outside, shall we?" Alkali said, eyes shining with greedy, malicious intent. They held size ray in one hand, and a heavy chain leash in the other. It would be hard to work with a size ray AND leash at this size but when had that ever stopped Alkali when they were in a teasing mood? This time, when Bk and Bui looked at each other, the story they told between each other was more of concern. Lycanroctober had just started and already they were getting into trouble. The Charizard and Buizel unceremoniously ripped their restraints off the wall. Buizilla simply outgrew them with a single use of his growth collar. Bk pulled the chains free using his natural Charizard strength, amplified even further by the additional size. The Lycanroc version of Alkali hadn’t been in the room when Bk and Bui agreed to play along with the roleplay. The surprised and worried reaction on Alkali’s face confirmed their suspicion: Lycanroc and Dewott didn’t share memories. “Uhh. Okay, maybe that was a bad choice on my part. You two want to talk about this- ACK!” Buizilla and Bk each grabbed one of Alkali’s arms and pulled him close. Buizilla loomed over him with malicious intent. Bk got to grab the size ray out of his hand, and turn it around on the Lycanroc. If the day belonged to Dewott Alkali’s teasing, then the night was going to belong to Bui and Bk. They were in control. And that meant they could train their Werewolf to be as good or badly behaved as they wanted.
