Strange Turn Of Events A pair of metal cuffs clanged loudly in place against the cold steel work bench, and the sound echoed throughout the massive laboratory. Fox McCloud’s arms, then his legs, were unable to move at all from their position. He lay spread eagle on the table, only able to see the ceiling and blinding florescent lights staring back at him. There was only one attendant in the room, a young female raccoon. She adjusted her glasses and placed harnesses that uncomfortably fit across Fox’s head and waist, restricting his movement even further. The arwing pilot tried to turn his head to face the raccoon but the harness didn’t budge an inch. All he could muster was moving his gaze in her direction instead. “You’re sure this won’t hurt at all?” he asked, and the echoes of his voice only heightened whatever fear Fox was feeling at that moment. “Why would it ever hurt?” she asked. It sounded like the very suggestion that the procedure would be anything less than perfect offended her. “The serum is absolutely safe, tested... well okay you’re the first test subject. But the calculations are perfect and the brightest minds on Corneria worked on it. You’ll be fine Mr. McCloud.” A heavy sigh escaped Fox’s lips as he closed his eyes. As the assistant began rattling off measurements and preparing for the injections, he imagined back several days in the past to an ordinary dinner with his boyfriend. --- “So, General Pepper asked me something interesting the other day...” “Oh?” Ziude said, perking up in his seat across the dinner table as he finished a bite of salad. “You’re not going on another mission are you?” Fox chuckled and shook his head. “No, nothing like that. He asked about a new program the research department wanted to try. And asked if I would be interested in it.” “Well what is the program?” the wolf asked, breathing a sigh of relief. He hated it when Fox left on missions, sometimes for weeks at a time, with no word at all. It was stressful as hell and there was no way to predict how well things were going offworld, thanks to the normally secret nature of Fox’s work. “It’s supposed to be a ‘super soldier’ program like in comic books or video games. Supposedly it will bulk up the test subject’s muscles, making them much stronger and more capable on the battle field,” Fox explained. “Just wanted to know what you thought about me being involved.” Ziude cocked an eyebrow. “There’s no danger involved is there?” he asked, and Fox shook his head no. “Then sure, hun. It can’t hurt. And if it works then that just means even more muscled Fox for me.” The wolf’s tail wagged lightly as he imagined what might happen if his lover actually became a super soldier, even if he didn’t totally understand what that might mean. Fox smiled knowingly; from day one of their relationship, Ziude never hid his love for larger men. And sure, Fox was pretty ripped already considering all the exercise and gym visits. But he knew Ziude sure wouldn’t turn down the option of having an even bigger boyfriend. “If you’re fine with it, then I’ll tell Pepper yes. There’s no guarantee I’ll even be tested on since there’s a big pool of candidates. Even Falco is on the list, so anyone could get chosen,” he said, returning to his meal. “Sounds fine to me. Just keep me informed, love. What’s the worst that could happen?” --- Those last words rang in Fox’s head just as the needle pierced his skin, yanking him away from his memories. Even compared the cold steel underneath his body and holding down his appendages, the needle felt absolutely freezing. The injected serum traveled down his arm and slowly made its way through his veins into the rest of his body, spreading a chill unlike any Fox had felt before. He shivered and the fur on the back of his neck stood up. “That’s the end Mr. McCloud. Thank you for cooperating, you know the way out. We’ll check your progress on Monday. Have a good weekend,” the assistant said without a hint of emotion. She hit a button to release Fox and then ignored him entirely as she scribbled furiously on a clipboard, marking down the measurements of all sorts of gizmos around the room. The bright yellow Cornerian sun could not warm Fox as he walked outside. Neither could the car’s heating system, which was turned up as hot as possible. The pilot was silent the entire way home aside from the occasional chattering of his teeth. And once he got home Ziude greeted him at the door, but not before pausing to give a once over to his boyfriend. “So that’s it? You look just the same hun. Nothing even happened,” the wolf said, feeling his boyfriend’s bicep to gauge any change. “It did feel pretty cold, but yeah. Just a shot and then nothing.” Fox replied with a shrug and a smooch. “Really? Well that’s disappointing. I was hoping for something like The Hulk, but orange.” Fox said with a smirk, “What, so I’m not hunky enough for you anymore? You’ve hurt my feelings Ziude; even a home cooked dinner wouldn’t put me in a good mood now.” He was lying; the meals Ziude made were always mouth wateringly excellent and tonight was no different. But the feeling of cold that filled Fox’s body wouldn’t go away throughout the meal or as he lay in bed to get to sleep. And no matter how close he snuggled with his lover, or how many blankets he put on top of them, he realized that he would be stuck with this strange chill. Maybe someone would have an answer for him about that on Monday. All in the name of science. --- Sunlight filtered in slowly between the blinds, lighting up more and more of the bedroom. Ziude fought the urge to wake up but the sunlight would not be kept from its victory. When it became obvious that the day was not going to stop simply by ignoring it, Ziude rolled over and opened his eyes. Only one side of the bed was filled this morning though leaving a vulpine shaped hole in the wolf’s wake up routine. Ziude figured that Fox must’ve woken up early this morning, rubbing the sleep from his eyes and getting out of bed. Strange that Fox would get up early though. Today was Saturday so there was no need for his lover to go in for work, and they didn’t have any extra plans set up for the whole day. No need to make a big deal out of it though. Ziude was much more carefree and relaxed than his boyfriend, not to mention perkier and sillier. So what if Fox decided to get up early? That just meant even more time to spend awake with him on the day off. Ziude walked over to the bathroom and splashed himself with some water from the sink. He ran his paw through matted fur on the top of his head to attempt wrangling it down. Bed head... bleck. The two tone wolf smiled at his reflection in the mirror anyway though. Even in this state he felt like he was looking pretty good. But as he was looking himself over, something appeared in the background that widened his eyes in surprise. Fox approached him slowly from behind, wearing only a pair of pajama bottoms. They couldn’t be the same pair from last night though. Ziude remembered him putting on a pair that was totally intact, but the pair Fox was wearing right now was several sizes too small and ripping right up the leg seams. The pattern on the PJs was the same as the ones from last night though so maybe it really was the same pair. The calves and thighs showing underneath those PJs were clearly larger than normal. And it seemed that the muscles weren’t all that were ruining the clothes; Fox sprouted up about half a foot taller over the course of the night. That wasn’t all that caught Ziude’s eye though. Six-pack abs, huge biceps, a sculpted chest... Fox looked entirely different. Definitely an improvement though. Ziude’s pants got slightly tighter at the sight of his boyfriend just standing around half naked. Fox raised an eyebrow at his lover and asked, “Are you okay? Something wrong?” “Nope. Definitely nothing wrong right now,” Ziude answered quickly, blushing. “Well that’s good. This is exactly what was supposed to happen after all. Remember? Stronger? Super soldier? That sort of stuff.” The wolf grinned from ear to ear and ran to his boyfriend. They embraced and Ziude ran his hands all across Fox’s changed form. Each crevice between the abs or the pecs felt hard with the muscle stored underneath, but were covered with silky fur just as soft as what Fox had the night before. Fox blushed lightly at the pleasurable feeling of Ziude’s paw massaging his chest. “This may take some getting used to so-” “Oh I’m pretty used to it already, love. A big, hunky fox to call my own. Love you hun!” Ziude chirped and got on his tiptoes to smooch Fox on the lips. Fox chuckled and wrapped his arms around his wolf. They cuddled as only two lovers could, and the vulpine pilot picked up Ziude to carry him back toward the bed. Ziude couldn’t believe his eyes; this was turning out to be a dream come true. Glancing down at Fox’s PJs again, he could see the tell tale bulge that the pilot was enjoying this change too. “Let’s get these clothes off. They’re a bit too constricting right now. Remind me to go buy some new clothes later; for now, I guess I’ll just go naked,” Fox said, as he slowly peeled off his nightwear. Ziude blushed even brighter than before. It looked like today was going to be a great day. --- Fox slammed his fists down on the table. Perhaps it was a bit too hard though since the wood splintered under the force and nearly broke entirely. The guards in the room fingered their weapons nervously. Having a super soldier in the war room was one thing, but a monstrous vulpine like Fox? That was enough to make any soldier a bit twitchy with their trigger finger. “So that’s it then? There’s nothing you can do?” Fox yelled. “I’m afraid so Fox,” General Pepper sighed. “We have to let the effects run their course. Our scientists are working on making the cure for you right now though.” “Make them go faster then. I didn’t ask for this!” Fox said, motioning to his body. No longer was the mass gain all in muscle. Fox sported a sizeable paunch on his front, obscuring the abs he’d developed the previous day. He was still putting on plenty of muscle mass though; his arms were nearly twice as thick as the morning after the procedure. And he was still growing taller too. The clothing that barely fit on his body made a better case than any words ever could. It was hard enough to find clothing that fit him on Sunday, but now it was clear the fight for clothes would be lost very soon. A button suddenly pinged off his shirt and shot across the room landing in front of Pepper as if to emphasize the point. The general bent over to pick up the button and said, “It took years of research to make a super soldier serum; we can’t just produce an antidote out of thin air. It’s going to take some time.” “What am I supposed to do then General? No one can live like this.” Pepper narrowed his eyes and looked over Fox, sizing up the newly grown pilot. “Fox, this is not the most dangerous thing you’ve ever done to your body. Not by a long shot. You put your life on the line all the time; at least this time there’s no chance you could die. You’re Corneria’s greatest pilot, so start acting like it.” And that was that. The general of the Cornerian army had spoken, and would hear no further argument. He turned on one heel to leave the room, passing all manner of maps, charts, and computer screens. Behind him two guards followed and another two guards stood off to the sides of the room watching Fox. Fox sputtered as he searched for words. How could this have happened? A super soldier project turning him into this... this... Fox growled and turned to leave as well. He felt like screaming at the world or throwing some furniture around. Absolutely useless. Complete waste of time. He started to leave the base, and could feel the stares of every person he passed boring into his skin like laser guided judgments. It didn’t help that the vibrations from his footsteps announced his presence no matter where he went at this point. Fox had to bend over to get under the 10 foot high doorframe as he left the base. Ziude smiled and waved as Fox approached. “How did the meeting go...” the wolf started, but backed off when he saw the scowl on Fox’s face. “Ohh. That bad? I thought-“ “Yes, it went badly. I’m stuck like this until the scientists figure out what went wrong. Then they need to fix it, which takes even longer. And after that they still can’t fix me until the serum runs its course. For better or worse, I’m gonna keep growing like this,” Fox interrupted with a huff. He sat down in the car which groaned in protest at the weight of its driver and threatened to just break entirely. The roof already had to be taken off in order for the titanic fox to fit in the car at all. Even thinking about it seemed ridiculous. The growth started out great on Saturday. There were plenty of cuddles, and a bit of extra touchy time. Things were lots of fun for them both and Fox couldn’t have been happier. But the very next morning the growth still hadn’t stopped. Eight feet tall, even more muscular, and the beginning of the gut he had today on Monday. And still the growth wasn’t stopping, even at over ten feet tall. At least Ziude was happy. Fox smiled in spite of his bad mood as his boyfriend jumped over the car door into the passenger seat. Ziude scooted as close to Fox as he could before getting both his arms around that massive waist. They sunk slightly into the fat of his sides and tickled the vulpine slightly. He sighed as Ziude blushed and giggled happily. “Don’t worry love. It’s the army. If anyone can figure this out, they can. And until then, I’ve got plenty of you to love,” Ziude said. “Well, that’s great for you. I don’t want to stay like this though. Should have just been happy as I was instead of fattening up like this,” Fox responded as he started the car. “Let’s stop at a tailor on the way home.” “Okay hun!” Ziude chirped happily. Fox looked down as his lover pulled himself in for a big snuggle; just how happy would Ziude be if this growth continued? --- “Okay hun, one more time. Push as hard as you can. Ready... now!” The doorway creaked, complained, and finally gave way with a sickening crunch. Fox was finally free from their house. At the expense of the entrance to the house, which was now caught around Fox’s gut like some sort of horribly fitting belt... but being free was better than the situation before. “Thank goodness,” Ziude sighed. “Good thing we got you out today, this was definitely the last day you could’ve stayed inside. We can’t expect to keep your size a secret in there anymore.” Fox grunted and fought against his midsection to get the doorframe off his body. “We almost didn’t have a choice there though. Stupid gut... you said it would fit for sure! Instead I get stuck like some sort of cartoon character.” The two tone wolf grinned up at his boyfriend as Fox stood up to his full height of twenty feet. Even if Fox didn’t particularly like what was happening, Ziude saw no issue whatsoever. What wasn’t to like about having a giant boyfriend? Nothing. Everything was just fine. Plus Fox was still putting on muscle mass and fat, which just made him even bigger. The only thing he was worried about was Fox’s self esteem. If the current trend was any indication, he was only going to continue getting bigger from here. “I just want to go back to normal,” Fox sighed exhaustedly. He sat cross-legged on the front lawn, knocking over the mailbox with his plus sized rump. “It wasn’t supposed to end like this. Can’t even fit into the house anymore, and it’s not stopping yet.” Ziude frowned and walked up to one of Fox’s legs. “Don’t worry hun, this will sort itself out. General Pepper said they’re getting closer to a cure every day. It can’t be long now until-” “I’m a freak,” Fox whispered. “What? Don’t say that.” “It’s true though isn’t it? How tall now, twenty feet? Already buff enough to be a body builder but somehow with a beer gut to put most alcoholics to shame. I can’t hide myself anymore and everyone stares at me. That sure sounds like a freak doesn’t it.” Ziude frowned and wrapped his arms around as much of Fox’s calf as he could; hugging regularly had become difficult several days ago but the couple did what they could. The wolf looked up at his lover’s face, still far away from the ground while sitting. He climbed slowly up onto Fox’s belly to get a better look at him. This was important. He wanted to be eye to eye with the love of his life. “Fox McCloud,” Ziude said slowly. “I love you. I love the way your tail flicks around when we kiss, and the way you laugh. I love your muscles and your belly. I love everything about you no matter how many changes you go through. But that fact is never going to change.” Ziude blushed deep red; this was the most intense he’d been with Fox in a very long time. Most of the time it was Fox who was the more serious one. But this moment was his turn to be the good boyfriend. Fox was having a really bad time coping with this. Ziude knew that this was the time he really needed to be there for his boyfriend. The wolf leaned forward and planted a kiss on Fox’s lips. It was awkward working around lips that large but Ziude did what he could, just to show Fox how much he cared. Ziude wasn’t sure if he’d made his point well enough and looked for some form of emotion behind his lover’s eyes. Fox’s expression was blank at first but finally softened. Then two giant arms reached up and brought Ziude into another hug. The huge belly cushioned and formed against Ziude like a giant waterbed. Fox had never been cuddlier. “I don’t like it. But thank you Ziude. I needed to hear that,” Fox said and squeezed him even harder. --- With a humongous yawn, Fox woke up. The moon shined down illuminating the field of tall grass in a beautiful silvery glow. He’d been having trouble sleeping recently. It was like there was always energy in store for him to use, all the time. Even after he did some heavy lifting to try and get rid of his pot belly, nothing could make a dent in his stamina or make his muscles feel tired anymore. Maybe insomnia was another side effect of that growing energy? At this point, that would be the least of his worries. He sat up carefully in the field and stretched his arms up into the sky. If he stood up the trees wouldn’t even come up to his waist anymore. That made hiding from the paparazzi and reporters much more difficult. It was probably a better idea to give up the fight soon; one hundred feet of vulpine mass couldn’t be hidden forever. “Happy two weeks to me...” he whispered. Two weeks ago this would’ve all seemed impossible. One week ago it seemed ridiculous. Now it was just everyday life. There wasn’t much to be surprised by anymore, so Fox just accepted every day as it came and went without spending much thought on it. There were some things that couldn’t be ignored though. With an idle glance downward Fox realized there was something he needed to take care of. His special stretchy speedo, fashioned in a hurry by the Cornerian army in a desperate attempt to keep Fox modest, wasn’t holding up too well. He ran a paw slowly across his imprisoned member, shuddering in pleasure. Fox wiggled himself backward and lay on his back. A couple trees fell to the side unable to cope with the overpowering weight of a giant, musclegutted fox. He spent the next couple minutes carefully stroking along his shaft and moaning to himself as he indulged a bit of his carnal desires. Just as he was removing the single piece of clothing to continue the fun though, he was startled by a high pitched meep. It sounded muted but audible enough that it had to be close. But where? Fox didn’t have to wait long for an answer as something moved from underneath his butt. “Hey... help me please love?” he heard as a small but familiar head peeked out from under his right cheek. Fox quickly picked himself up and reached underneath to grab Ziude. “I’m so sorry, are you okay?” he asked. He already knew the answer; it wasn’t the first time Ziude had wanted a close-up peek at his butt. They’d been experimenting plenty in the past couple days. If nothing else these changed had definitely been good for their sex life. Fox hadn’t understood exactly how much Ziude really did like larger guys. No complaints though. He wouldn’t admit it out loud yet but he was slowly starting to enjoy being this size. Right now he just tolerated it, but maybe someday that could morph into something else. “Yeah, I’m fine. Was just enjoying those super round, fluffy, squishy cheeks,” the wolf answered with a snicker. Crickets chirped quietly in the background for a moment before Ziude broke the silence. “Well don’t stop on my account, hun. Sounded like you were having fun.” “Oh? Well, if you insist,” Fox said lustily. --- Whup whup whup whup whup whup whup... Fox’s ears twitched at the familiar sound of an approaching airship. He turned his head this way and that to find the source, finally noticing the huge Cornerian dropship. A ship like this would normally dominate the sky and impose darkness across those on the ground. But compared to Fox, the ship didn’t seem that impressive. Not much was impressive to fox anymore though. It was pretty hard when compared against a three hundred foot tall vulpine, and with a body that would put any steroid abusing muscle head to shame. Sure that also came with a massive, distended belly as well but in the end that just added to the intimidating nature of exactly what Fox had become. A screen lowered in front of the ship and turned on to reveal General Pepper. The face on the screen was familiar to Fox, but the same couldn’t be said for the other way around. This was the first time he’d had seen his star pilot in just under three weeks. General Pepper’s eyes got nearly as wide as plates, and Fox could’ve sworn he heard a thud as the General’s mouth dropped to the floor. Clearing his throat and composing himself, General Pepper said, “Okay Fox, we have the antidote ready.” “Oh really? Well that’s... fine,” Fox huffed. He was still miffed that it took this long for the serum to finish its growth. “Hmm. Well yes it’s ready now. But we just need time to make enough of it for you to eat now. The science boys tell me they didn’t expect your original treatment to be nearly this potent; we’ll have to super concentrate the antidote to affect you at all anymore.” Fox sighed dramatically, accidentally blowing the airship backward from the force of his breath. “So how long do I have to wait now Pepper?” “About four days, another week tops,” he said, straightening his hat as he stumbled slightly from the movement of the airship. Another whole week like this as a skyscraper sized fox. The growth had finally come to a stop much to Fox’s relief. Or was it really relief anymore? A couple weeks ago it would’ve definitely been relief. No more worrying about being a mountain sized freak, right? But that didn’t seem to be the case any longer. The whole experience didn’t faze Fox nearly as much anymore. Ziude gave some fantastic belly rubs; plus how could he forget having all these muscles? That was definitely a massive plus. “Already made it three weeks, what’s another four days going to hurt?” Fox said. He looked behind himself at his butt and smiled at the two tone wolf’s head that stuck out of the top of his speedos. It may have been just for Ziude at first... but maybe this change could be for himself too. The whole experience had definitely grown on him, that was for sure.
