Damien sighed in relief as he carefully parked the car in front of the office of their family doctor, and John unbuckled himself and got Chris and Albus out, walking to the passenger window as Lyle rolled it down. “Hey, we will come get you when you are done. We’re gonna head to the store real quick, your dad asked me to pick up some stuff for you guys and the house, so just text me when you think you’ll be done. And boys, remember to listen to the doctor and listen to John.” Lyle said as John gave a nod at the boys stuck their tongues out at him playfully as he laughed and rolled up the window, John taking the duo inside and walking to the check in counter, the woman behind smiling as she looked up at them, she was actually a friend of John’s, one who went to his college. She had long black hair and was a light grey fox girl, her name was Andrea. She was a very spacey person, but very caring but sometimes tended to stare off into space. She was practicing to be a doctor herself and was in the office to sit and watch.


“Hey John!” She smiled softly as she started typing in the computer to get their info set up, seeing they had an appointment. Inferno must be busy today huh?” She asked handing him a clipboard with two different forms for the two kids. John chuckled and nodded as he talked to her. “Yeah, he had to work today so Damien, myself and my Grandfather are all watching the kids today. First stop is here.” He chuckled softly as Andrea giggled a bit, a small blush on her face as she always secretly had a crush on John, but she tended to keep it secret due to the fact John had someone, so she respected it since both were her close friends. “Alright, just get that stuff all filled out and the doctor will call you back shortly.” She said as John took the boys to the waiting room, the two cubs seeing some toys left by the office for kids to use while they waited, they rushed over to play while John started filling out the paperwork, watching the boys as he did.


Albus and Chris smiled happily as they played around, mostly forgetting where they were before the doctor walked out, and called for them. John looked up in a bit of surprise before standing up, the boys setting the toys down before walking behind John to the back, the doctor smiling softly as he walked. The doctor was a tall dragon man, black and green scales around his back and underbelly. He was actually the boys’s uncle-in-law, Draco. He was married to one of Infernos older brothers, Maxwell, who was Lyle’s oldest son. “So any changes I need to know about? Or are they still as healthy as I saw them last time? Work wise, not last week.” He chuckled a bit as John looked at the boys, both shaking their heads as they were measured and weighed, giving Draco his answer as they walked into the examination room, the boys hopping onto the table and sitting there. “Can we go fast. I wanna go to the park!” Chris said, which was followed by a resounding agreement from Albus, Draco chuckling as he started checking their heart beats and the normal stuff for their check ups. He had them lie back gently as he checked them for any outstanding problems, smiling as he didn’t find anything bad. He lightly pushed on their stomachs as they breathed just to make sure they were fine, before he gave both a quick tickle, making them laugh and squirm on the table.””Hey, don’t squirm to much or you might fall off.” He said chuckling as he rubbed their heads, going back to his paperwork.


John smiled watching them, glad Draco was their family doctor as it made things quicker and it made it so the boys listened more often, despite the rebellion earlier.he had gotten from Chris, he knew in the end Chris would cooperate, especially since it was Draco, “Alright boys, almost done. We do have one important thing left to do though, seems you both are overdue a shot and we can get that done and out of the way.” He said smiling gently to ease them, Albus gulped and squirmed in his spot but he seemed okay, Chris however leapt down and ran to John, Latching onto him. “No! No shot!” He said quickly as he tried to hide by John, who sighed and gently rubbed his back, looking at Draco wondering what he’d do. Draco quickly made a small note and showed it to John, it told John to just hold him and he’d give the shot while he was like that. John nodded as Draco stood up and went to get the stuff ready.


“Buddy, it’s gonna be okay, Draco is nice. He will make it quick.” John tried as Chris whined and shook his head, Albus thinking as he wanted to say something but didn’t know what. “Albus is doing it buddy, why don’t you show your baby brother how to be calm through it?” He asked as Chris sniffled but looked seeing that Albus was looking at Chris, and the fox realized he was probably not making it easy on Albus, who did look up to Chris. Chris whined and sniffled as he squirmed on John’s lap, leaning in as Draco returned with the stuff for their shots. John just gently tightened his grip around Chris and decided to let him go first so it would get out of the way. Draco rolled up chris’s sleeve and cleaned up the area he would give a shot on the arm, before gently distracting him by rubbing his other arm and had, lightly holding it. Chris felt a slight pinch as he yelped lightly but he barely realized when it finished, Draco sticking a cartoony bandage on his arm, Chris looking in surprise at Draco. “I didn’t feel it!” he said happily as Draco laughed, nodding “You’re right bud, you were brave. It’s not so bad, so next time you can be brave for Albus.” He said, Chris nodding with pride.


Albus looked at Chris and seemed to relax a little bit seeing that his older brother handled it well and started to relax on his spot as he was squirming around a bit just a second ago. He gently rolled up his sleeve for Draco as the man smiled and walked over, glad to see that Albus was okay especially after seeing Chris take it so well. Draco smiled and did the same to Albus, cleaning the area before he gently took the needle, and like with Chris, tried to distract Albus, and before the jackal knew, it was over. He looked at his arm seeing a bandage and smiled as he hopped down and rushed to John to be held, John smiling as he carried both his baby brothers. “Alright boys, you were both brave so I have a treat for you.” Draco smiled and gave each a piece of candy, both smiling brightly and thanking him. “Be sure to save it for after lunch, don’t wanna make your brothers jealous that you got candy and they didn’t.” Draco chuckled as both boys nodded and put the candy in their pockets.


“Thanks uncle Draco. With you as our doctor, its always so much easier. You coming tomorrow for dinner?” John asked as Draco cleaned up and disposed of anything he needed as he thought for a second. “Yeah, Maxwell and I should be able to make it, we aren’t doing anything and the office closes at five, so I will be free by the time you guys get dinner going. Just shoot me a text before I leave and I will make sure to go pick up your uncle and get on over to the house. Tell your dad I said hi.” He said to the boys who all nodded as he walked down out after getting them all checked out. John grabbed his phone and texted his grandfather, before jumping when he heard a car honk and saw them already waiting in one of the nearby spots.


John chuckled as he set Chris and Albus down and took their hands, walking with them over to the car after making sure it was safe, upon getting close Lyle got out to help buckle the boys in. “How’d it go? I forgot my son-in-law was one of the doctors here.” Lyle chuckled as he saw Draco walking back in after he had lead the boys outside. “It went well, Chris was scared because he had to get a shot but he braved through it and he didn’t feel a thing, right chris?” John asked as Lyle was surprised but smiled proudly and praised his two grandkids.


“Yeah, I was brave! I did it so Albus wouldn’t be scared.” Chris said proudly and grinned wide as Albus giggled, as he was fine getting it more or less, but he couldn’t deny that Chris braving it made it easier for Albus to calm down and get through it, Albus hugging Chris tightly before sitting in his carseat and getting buckled in. Mike and Kevin watched and helped John out a bit. “So what’s next?” Mike asked John, who thought as he checked the time, they still had some time to kill before lunch, before Kevin chimed in with a good idea. “What about a picnic?” He said softly, Kevin was very quiet and shy even around his brothers and so he was very soft spoken, but his brothers all looked and agreed that it was a good idea.


Calvin looked at John and bounced in his seat. “Yeah, let’s do that! We can eat at the park and once we finish eating we can play immediately after and not have to wait.” He said happily as John laughed watching Calvin bounce around, Mike giggling a bit at the excitement as he did the same a bit, despite being thirteen, he was sometimes childish and so he would on ocassion start doing stuff tha this brothers did, and in this situation, he was copying Calvin who giggled. “Yeah! A picnic is a good idea!” Mike said with wonder as they all stared up at John, who shrugged but looked at Lyle.


“I have no complaints, that sounds like a paceful lunch and it would be a good way for them to eat and then tucker themselves out with playtime before we go home, since we do gotta tire Chris, Calvin and Albus out since they have to take a nap after lunch, and maybe Drax.” Lyle smiled as he got back in the car. “Damien, drive us to the store first, I know we just left it but if we are gonna have a picnic, we will need to get some food from the store. Then its off to the park.” Lyle instructed as the car erupted with happy cheering as the boys loved hearing that they were finally going. John climbed in and buckled, making sure all of his siblings were secure, and Damien once again backed up and headed for the store.


As they drove, John noticed that Mike’s phone was going off quite a bit as Mike kept quickly replying, a goofy smile on his face as he did. John chuckled a bit seeing the look “Who’s got your attention so wrapped up mike?” John asked as Mike yipped and blushed quickly pocketing his phone as he tried to play it off. “Who, what? Nothing, nothing.” He said quickly and looked out the window with his bright red face hiding from John, who chuckled softly seeing how he reacted. “You can tell me.” John said as Kevin watched, a small smile on his face.


“It’s nothing John, Don’t worry.” He said before Kevin quickly blurted out. “Mike’s got a boyfriend and he hasn’t stopped texting him since two days ago.” The wolf said as Mike gasped and glared at Kevin in disbelief as his own twin betrayed him. “Kevin!” He said with a gasp as Kevin shrugged softly and smiled as he was just being honest with John, a bad perk of being a very obedient kid. “Don’t listen to him, he’s crazy.” Mike said before his phone buzzed and slid from his pocket, he tried catching but John saw the screen and saw the name Zero, with  heart next to his name which got mike even more red than before. Mike groaned and covered his face with embarassment as he was not wanting to bring this up to them yet, but now the cat was out of the bag, almost quite literally. “Fine! Fine! I have a boyfriend, we started dating two days ago. I was gonna introduce him properly tomorrow night at dinner, I already got the okay from dad and papa Inferno. But Kevin had to go and open his big mouth!” Mike said and groaned as John chuckled.


“Don’t know why you are so embarrased. I think its cute.” John smiled as Mike just groaned more as that was not the response he wanted, especially from his older brother. He just pocketed his phone to hide his embarassment, but he seeme a bit more at ease now that everyone knew. Lyle looked back and chuckled. “You kids are growing up to fast, first college for John, High school for you guys next year, now I hear one of you has a boyfriend. You kids need to slow down before you give this old man a panic attack.” Lyle joked with a laugh as Mike just sat back, his face still red. “Can we change the subject please?” he groaned but the others thankfully were nice enough to drop it as they arrived in the store parking lot, the kids all grinning excitedly as they parked.


“Alright boys, do not run off and always be with Myself, Damien or grandpa. And if you boys behave I will buy you all a little treat for being good.” John smiled as he got Drax and Albus out and put them down, Drax looking around as he stayed close to Lyle. The wolf looked down and smiled before he gently picked Drax up and carried him as they walked into the store. John started making a small list of things they’d need. Damien decided to split the list up to make this quicker and decided to let John get the main food and Damien decided to take Mike and Calvin to get the chips. Lyle looked at his grandson. “Damien, meet us near checkout okay?” in which the white wolf nodded and headed off with the fox boys. Calvin smiles as he walked alongside Damien, his eyes wandering the store happily as he waited eagerly for their trip to the park.


“So, a boy huh?” Damien smiled, not in a judging tone either. He seemed more happy for Mike, all the whole the fox just groaned and blushed again as he wanted it to be dropped but he realized going with Damien was a mistake if he wanted such a wish. “Since I know you won’t stop asking, fine. His name is Zero. Well, sort of, it’s a nickname I made for him. He’s been my friend for a couple years and you guys have seen him once at my birthday last year. I’m not gonna spoil which one he was until tomorrow when everyone gets to meet him.” Mike said, a bit quick with embarrassment as Damien chuckled, he always loved seeing his brother get flustered just because he was so easily embarrassed, and Kevin constantly exploited that to their benefit of amusement. Calvin listened to them before he thought to himself, tugging on Damien’s shirt, getting a glance from him. “What’s up Calvin?”


“What’s so special about a boyfriend?” Calvin asked as the concept of a romantic partner, man or woman was somewhat lost on the kids naive personality, being only barely ten years of age. He looked as Damien thought for a second before smiling having the easiest way to explain. “Well you know how Papa Inferno and Kenta are married right? They started as boyfriends. Basically, a boyfriend is just someone you love and spend a lot of time with, and if they’re the right person, you’ll marry them. Which is what happened with our fathers, and why you’re here now.” He smiled and picked Calvin up, poking the boy in the belly which made him giggle happily, before thinking. “So Mikey will have kids maybe?” He asked bluntly, which made mike blush furiously as he groaned and covered his face in his paws, Calvin looking at him confused before Damien just chuckled and nuzzled Calvin to distract him. “You’ll know when you’re older bud, don’t worry about it.” He said as Calvin nuzzled back and nodded happily, holding onto his big brother as he was carried, the trio getting to the snacks, looking at chips for their picnic. “Alright boys pick whichever ones you want, as well as some that the others might want also.” He said as Mike went to start looking, grabbing a few he liked and what he remembered Kevin mentioned liking, while Calvin was held on Damien’s shoulders and he was looking at the choices, having a hard time deciding.


Damien smiled as he grabbed a couple different potato chip types since he knew his brothers wouldn’t complain about classics,  blinking as a bag of cheesy type chips fell in his hands. “Let’s get that one!” He said grinning as Damien chuckled, a bit shocked it just landed in his arms but he shrugged and nodded, looking as mike brought some as well. “Alright, good choices and enough to get us through, now let’s get drinks.” He smiled and walked the boys to the aisle next to them. Damien looked as he needed to pick wisely, knowing the kids could drink soda but he needed to think in moderation, knowing the kids would be hyper. He shrugged and got varying soda bottles, but also made sure to get some juice boxes and bottles for the kids, since John had a rule that soda was fine as long as they drank juice or water first. Mike nodded as Calvin saw the juice and pouted some but stayed quiet as he knew what that meant, hoping he’d get to skip the rule, but he wasn’t going to whine or complain because he knew better. Damien smiled gently seeing the cub behaving up on his shoulders. Mike looked around before Damien suddenly asked another question.


“So, what lead to you guys dating anyways?” Damien asked him, chuckling softly as Mike grunted in surprise and let out another groan. “WHY?!” he asked as he was asked one more question about his romance. Mike looked over at the older wolf with annoyance as Damien smirked, and Mike realized he wasn’t gonna get out of answering more questions. “It is nothing special, we were just doing a group assignment in class and he asked if I was single, next thing I knew I was saying yes to a date. And now he’s my boyfriend, and papa Inferno knows. But Dad doesn’t, so we have to stay quiet until tomorrow so I can tell him myself.” Mike said as Damien nodded, all the while Calvin giggled at his older brother getting all nervous about this conversation. Callvin grinned and made a joke as they went to find the others. “No one will tell, except maybe Chris.” He joked as Mike groaned realizing that, despite it being a joke, knew Chris was one to always let things slip to their father even indirectly. “Eh, I wouldn’t worry to much about that, Chris only ever goes and squeals secrets to dad when he wants to get someone into trouble, but he means well. I doubt Chris would tell dad before you do though.” Damien smiled as they went to check out to see the rest there with a cart full of stuff for their picnic, John smiled and nodded to them, as Damien deposited his items into the cart, they headed to checkout.
