(Year 3064) I worked at a research facility for many years. I was thinking when there wouldn't be any more science to discover. If we had already found and cured everything and there wouldn't be anything wrong anymore. Dr. Dhriti and I were working on ways to put people into these "Super Sleeps". So that space travel would seem faster and would require less food. Soon it was time for lunch, but I had to drop off some documents in Dr. Gero's office. Once I did, I noticed a piece of paper that looked like it was crumpled up into a ball then unfolded. He was studying serial killers and how they think, trying to find ways to get as much information out of them as possible, or trying to get them to believe something so you could bring them to the electric chair or something without them knowing. At the very bottom I saw written "Once you get the chance finish your research on that gestalt psychology stuff, meet me at my office at 12:30" along with an equation that said -6 ≥ -6 and a drawing of a skull next to it with some other random doodles. I thought nothing of it. I turned around to go get lunch and was instantly hit in the face. I dont remember much other than the fist and his shadow. I didn't get a look at their face. I was awake laying down and heard people talking. If I opened my eyes they would know im awake, so I thought it would be a good idea to keep them shut. I thought I heard Dr. Dhriti talking about how to supply yourself with food and water as you sleep during space travel. Time passed and later I heard her say "these machines will last for an eternity unless the whole city, shuttle or the sun dies forever. Same with this clock". The last thing I could remember was another doctor creating a paper creation of a banana and said "Like this?" That's when my memory died until I woke up being carried. I was then thrown into this chamber. It looked like the an empty room just with pads on the walls, but I could barely tell what it was. The only things that accompanied me was a small flood light pointing at an analog clock. I didn't know how or why I was in here, and I was strapped to the wall pretty well. I was strapped sitting down and couldn't move my arms. I tried to scream for someone to help me but nobody either seemed to care or heard me. Right after that I noticed a tube leading to my stomach. I didn't know what it was, but whatever it was compelled me to scream harder. I yelled for about a minute and after that I was getting light-headed. I stopped and rested. If nobody heard me I thought I was going to be released and be interrogated about something I did. Then I could tell them it was a misunderstanding, and they would let me go. So I waited. Waited. and waited. I couldn't hear anything outside the room and It began looking like the strobe light was dimming. I waited a very long time. Soon the strobe light faded until it produced no light. I was stuck in darkness and the only thing that was visible was the clock. It was some sort of glow-in-the-dark clock with green hands and numbers. All I could hear was it ticking and the sound of me breathing. I just sat there waiting to see if someone would get me out. Eventually the clock faded into darkness and I could only hear the ticking. I didn't expect the clock to stay visible long, those glow in the dark anythings would only stay on for a few minutes if not less. I had no idea what time or day it was, but the clock did. Time kept passing and for a long, long time and it was getting cold. I didn't get cold because of what I was wrapped in, but I could tell because my face and hands were getting cold. I eventually forgot I was waiting for someone to free me. I couldn't do anything. I was stuck here. Alone, in silence. I could only sit there with the dead floodlight, dead clock, and my thoughts. I thought about nature, my family, my future family, and families before me. I began to get sad. Not because of being stuck in this chamber, but that I wouldn't ever meet anyone again. My eyes began to water. I just wanted to hear a voice that wasn't mine. My eyes were flooding, and I was silently crying to myself. I didn't even care if it was a robot, I just wanted to talk to SOMETHING. Anything... Across the room I could hear the clock *tik*... *tik*... *tik*...............*inhale*..... *exhale*...................................
