Staring at the ceiling in the darkness, Silver's eyes traced the small glimmer of light that flickered on the seams from the adjacent room outside of his designated cell. Following his intimate time with Sonic, Dr. Eggman was satisfied with the data he collected and had them both removed from the padded chamber. While still incredibly weary, he vaguely remembered Sonic appearing unconscious as he was carried away in the opposite direction. The white hedgehog knew he called out to him and tried to reach for him, but he never responded. Silver felt so helpless as Sonic slipped through his fingers while he; himself, felt indescribeably weak after what they did. With the odds stacked against them and in his present condition, he had no way of even attempting to fight back against the robots carting him off down the corridor and no choice but to surrender to the situation they were both trapped in. "Was feeling that way normal?" he pondered as he reviewed what transpired, realizing this was the second time they had intercourse and the second time he felt this way. While lying on the cold floor of his 'home' on the Death Egg, he couldn't help but let his mind wander and shift from one thought to the next. Coming from a dystopian future, Silver was used to resting on uncomfortable surfaces and eating whatever he could scavenge, so Eggman's traditional tactics at breaking him were proven ineffective from the beginning. Still, no one could ever get used to more sadistic methods of torture, as were present by the bruises that remained on his body. They wanted information from him and what he knew could spell doom for those who had yet to fall under the Eggman Empire's flag. They were persistent, to say the least, but their attempts never gained them anything. In the entire time he had been a captive, he did all that he could to resist their influence for the sake of the war efforts. It wasn't something to boast about, though--he knew if he riled his wardens' tempers by a show of sarcasm that they would only take things even farther. Still, he was confident he could hold his own against anything that threw at him. Now, self-doubt cluddered his brain. He never expected to find Sonic alive and enthralled by their enemy. If the strongest fighter he'd ever known could be broken, did he really stand a chance? He started to think his defiance and suffering were all for nothing. The evil scientist was able to use Sonic and blackmail him into agreeing to betray the Resistance anyway. The thought of doing such a thing turned his stomach, but yet again, he had no choice. Remembering Sonic's face, his inaudible stutters, and that wicked grin of their captor, Silver knew if he didn't cooperate then his friend would have endured a slow grueling death right in front of him. "THAT DAMN MADMAN! HOW CAN SOMEONE BE SO CRUEL?!?!" The naive warrior knew this was an unanswerable question since despite his upbringing in such a horrid era, he never could understand the complexities of greed or malice. The cycle of replaying the bloodcurdling events were disheartening and enraging at the same time. Analyzing the situation was making him angrier by the second as he felt tense all over his body until it culminated into an outburst that he held in with all his might--knowing he was being monitored at all times. I HATE EGGMAN!!! I HATE INFINITE!!! I HATE WHAT THEY'VE DONE AND MADE ME DO!!!" And he hated what happened earlier....but....not all of it. While sorting out his rage, more personal feelings started to emerge as the intricate details of the exchange flashed in his mind. The soft caresses, the warmth of their lips touching, and the stimulating sensations that engulfed him entirely were so exotic, unrestrained, and captivating. Any resentment he had for Sonic from their first encounter when the blue hedgehog claimed him during his demented state had vanished and were completely forgiven, with any lingering recollections buried under the new memories that had been forged from their recent escapade. Obviously, these were not under the best of circumstances, but there were parts of their connection that felt so deep and enriching--when their breaths were one, their hearts beat n'sync, and he could feel Sonic inside of him, filling an emptiness he didn't realize he possessed. The more he thought about it, the more he squirmed, longing for that touch again. His heart started to flutter and his cheeks blush. He never felt THAT way before, and he began to realize that he never felt that way about anyone before either. His crush on Blaze was never reciprocated on a romantic level, and with her being a different dimension most of the time while he jumped across centuries, he never had the opportunity to nurture the relationship into something more. Aside from the friendships he developed in this era, he had no family or friends in his own time. In fact, every time he changed history in order to revert disaster, those that he knew became strangers to him all over again as a result of the ripple effect in the space/time continuum. Lonliness was the price he had to pay over and over again to save the future. It was his duty, his destiny. He was the only one who could make a difference and he had to step up to that responsibility, even if it meant he'd always be alone. Now trapped on the Death Egg, indulging in sexual conduct with the world's greatest hero, Silver wondered how far off course he was in his duty with a heavy sigh. "Am I...meant to be here" he questioned in a whisper, "--to save Sonic so together they could save the planet or am I actually failing my mission? Each day I spend as a prisoner is another day Eggman's forces have to expand his conquest and I'm not there to help stop it..." Worrying about his friends, the war, the present and the future were always present in his mind, but now, a large portion of his concern was for Sonic. Things had gotten complicated and confusion doesn't begin to define it. The moment things got out of hand, when his friend began acting differently when they were together was when he; himself, started to feel weak--like he was being drained. "What was that feeling?" he wondered again. The blue blur mentioned there was something inside of him that could cure whatever he was going through...but how? What was making him sick? How would them being intimate yield any solutions? And what happened to Sonic at the end, when he lost control? WHAT DID IT ALL MEAN? There were so many questions that just kept siring even more puzzling questions, but the fact remained that even if Silver could escape now by some means, there was no way he would leave Sonic behind. "But...how can I get us out of here?" he contemplated while gently touching the device attached to his forehead that negated his powers. He remembered vividly how Eggman gloated about its capabilities and the instant death that would result should he try to tamper with it in any way. Aside from being extremely limited on what he could do, there was the fact that Sonic was enslaved by that bastard jackal and too ill to even try to fight. This made the white hedgehog cringe at the memory of his friend defending the war mongering mongrel during their one-sided argument. The torture Sonic must have endured to reach this point--to be so brainwashed and broken in so many ways that he'd side with their captor. Silver understood his friend wasn't in his right mind and it wasn't his fault for it. What they did to him was unforgiveable, which made the time traveler question why Eggman was trying to help him? They've been mortal enemies for years, and the brutality he witnessed earlier was a testiment to how much the evil doctor still loathed the fallen hero. "What's his plan?" he whispered to himself as he turned over on the hard metal floor, curling up slightly at the chill that swept over him. "Eggman isn't just keeping Sonic alive to witness his domination, is he?---No---Something bigger is going on. I can feel it," he said quietly while staring at his gloveless hands that were stained a faded hue of red. Remembering how gentle and meek his blue counterpart's touch was, the white hedgehog felt a wave of sadness strike him. This was a dire situation that he had no control over whatsoever. If there is no rescue, what could he do? Sonic's faded eyes and weak smile were all Silver could think about. He was so close to dying! What if Eggman doesn't find a cure--or if he does, would he really be willing to use it to save him? The fastest thing alive was in shambles. His body, his mind, his will were all shattered, but he was still Sonic deep down. This made Silver clench as he wished with all his might that he could somehow DO SOMETHING! He wanted to be with him right now--to make sure he was okay. He wanted to take him away from this place, to take him back home, reunite him with his friends, and help him find himself again. Sonic might not be able or willing to fight right now, but Silver wasn't about to back down! He couldn't lose hope! Cupping his stained hand to his chest, taking in the remnants of Sonic's scent and clinging to the memory of his warmth, he began fortifying himself to face the impossible. "He needs me....I have to stay strong for him." He affirmed before shutting his eyes and lulling into a restless sleep.
