Now, I don't see Yanni Yogi being executed, this is just a (slight) AU one shot for if he was sentenced to death. First part will be about Yogi's execution momentarily, then the rest will be about Yanni and Polly's meeting. Hope you guys don't mind that one bit. Anyways, onwards with the story! It was the day. It was time for his execution... Yanni Yogi knew that this was gonna be his final day on Earth...and he accepted it. He was bound to die anyways, especially since he's reached 73 now. It's been 20 years since he's been arrested on that day. Which was the day of Robert Hammond's death and the reopening of the DL-6 case. "So this is how it ends, huh?" He mumbled bitterly, followed by a chuckle of the same manner. His life after DL-6 and the trial was a living hell, and now, his execution will be the end of the line of his life. He saw two guards approach his cell, along with the warden. His cell door opened up as the two guards and warden walked right in. "The day has come, Mr Yogi...it's time for your execution." The warden said as Yanni nodded in response and slowly got up, the guards helping him up. Once he rose to his feet, the warden lead him out of his cell, the prisoner following after the warden and the two guards walking right behind him, making sure he doesn't try anything, even though he can't do anything other than walk and talk. As he followed the warden to the execution room, he pondered at the thought of possibly seeing his fiancée again. 'Is there a chance that I'll see Polly again...? I hope so...she needs to know that I didn't murder Gregory Edgeworth...' He thought as finally arrived to the execution room. The room was the size of a prison cell, except it was all white and had a dangling noose in the middle of the room and a small step stool under where the noose hung. Yanni sighed. This was it.. The 2 guards led him to the stool as they helped the old man step onto it. Once he stood on it, the 1st guard took the noose and put it around his neck, securing it so that it doesn't slip from Yanni's neck. "Before I kick the stool away, is there anything that you want?" The 1st guard asked, awaiting for Yanni's answer. Slowly, Yanni spoke up. "Yes....if my parrot, Polly, is still alive...please give her to Mr Edgeworth...she needs an owner, and I believe Mr Edgeworth will take good care of her, despite me resenting him previously." He requested, looking down at the young guard. The 2nd guard nodded as he kicked away the stool from underneath Yanni's feet. He gasped for breath, but didn't struggle and allowed all of this to happen. He see his life flash before his very eyes, memories of him and Polly Jenkins having fun together and joking around as teens, their first kiss, his proposal to Polly Jenkins, the DL-6 incident, Polly's suicide, and finally, his revenge on Robert Hammond. He closed his eyes for the final time as a tear went down his cheek. Sometime after his death... Yanni Yogi started to slowly wake up. "Ugh...where am I...?" The last thing he remembered was...oh...right...execution. He grumbled to himself as he rose up to his feet and looked around. He was...somewhere? He didn't recognize the place he was in. He walked around, looking confused, glancing at the unrecongnizable place he was in. As he walked around, he spotted someone from a few miles away. Curious, he walked up to the person. "Uhm...hello? Who are-" He cut himself off when the person turned around to look at him. He was...really shocked to see who it was. He couldn't believe it...it was Polly Jenkins! His former fiancée. She returned the same shock he had as well. "Y-Yanni?!" "P-Polly?!" They both exclaimed in shock. "W-What...What are YOU doing here?!" Polly's shock was replaced with anger. It was clear that she still didn't know that Yanni didn't kill Gregory. "B-But..." He tried to speak up, but his former love interrupted him. "NO! I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT! BECAUSE OF YOU SHOOTING GREGORY EDGEWORTH, I COMMITTED SUICIDE! I COULDN'T BEAR TO LIVE WITH A KILLER LIKE YOU!" She yelled in his face, expressing her fury to him. "But Polly! I didn't shoot Gregory! Manfred von Karma did! He was the one that started DL-6!" He argued back. Unfortunately, Polly didn't believe him. "Oh yeah?! Prove it, Yogi! PROVE IT THAT MANFRED VON KARMA SHOT GREGORY EDGEWORTH!" She demanded, her eyes engulfed with murderious intent and clenching her teeth in rage. Unlucky for Yanni, he did NOT have any solid evidence that proved von Karma shot Gregory. He had to prove to her that he didn't murder Greg. "You have three seconds, so get on with it!" She added. He quickly dug through his pockets to see if he can find anything as Polly counted down from 1 to 3. "1!" Polly lifted up her finger. "Come on, come on..!" Yanni fished around his pockets even faster. "2!" Polly lifted up a second finger. Nothing, he couldn't find anything in his pockets! He looked at Polly. "Wait-" Unfortunately, he was cut off by her. "3!" She lifted up her third finger. "You don't have any proof that von Karma shot Gregory...so therefore, GET OUT OF MY SIGHT AND NEVER SHOW ME YOUR FACE AGAIN!!!" She roared, pointing in a random direction with her mouth fixed into a murderous snarl. "But Poll-" He was interrupted by Polly once again. "NOW!!!" She roared again, clenching her fist so tightly that it almost became transparent. Yanni ran off quickly, not wanting to anger her even further. Polly sighed in relief as he watched Yogi run off. "Grrr...that stupid man...always looking so handsome...with that...hot chin beard and mustache of his...h-heh..." Polly's cheeks were glowing a pastel pink and her previous angered snarl was replaced with a slightly drooling smile. Then, she went back to her angered state. "But I still hate him for murdering poor Gregory!" Meanwhile with Yanni Yogi... Yanni was searching around for any evidence that supports his claim. As he walked around, he spotted a newspaper on the ground, raising an intrigued brow, he walked over to it and picked it up. He was hoping that this would prove his claim to be true. Thankfully it did, it showed the news article about Manfred being the true DL-6 killer. He didn't know why this newspaper was on the ground, but he didn't care, instead, he just yelled "THANK YOU GOD!!!" up to the heavens then ran off to go find Polly again. Eventually, he found Polly again. "POLLY! POLLY!" Polly turned to look at Yanni, who growled ragefully and snarled at him again. "DIDN'T I TELL YOU NOT TO SHOW YOUR FACE TO M-" She was interrupted by Yogi this time. "You can kill me again later! But first, I need to show you my proof of Manfred being the killer!" Polly looked thoughtful for a moment then sighed. "Fine...but if this doesn't prove anything..." She threatened as Yanni nodded, fearfully. 'I know that I can't die again, but she's still scary when angered...' Yanni thought as he invisibly shuddered. He showed her the newspaper, to which she snatched it from his hands and read it silently. Eventually, she finished silently reading it and handed it back to him. She crossed her arms tightly...and suddenly trembled. "Huh...?" Yanni was about to walk in front of her, but she suddenly turned back to face him with a tearful, guilty look on her face. She then latched onto Yanni tightly, tears streaming down her face. "I-I'm so sorry, Yanni.." Her voice cracked, gone with the rage and filled with sadness and regret. Yanni wrapped his arms around her back comfortingly. "There, there, Polly..." He rocked back and forth lightly. The woman looked up at her fiance, tears streaming down her face, her eyes glistening with the sadness inside her. "B-But...! But I accused you of murdering an innocent person! Why aren't you mad at meeeeeee?!" She howled in utter grief, hiccuping and crying more now. Yanni continued to rock back and forth, now rubbing her back soothingly. "Shhh...don't worry about it, I could never be mad at you, my love...it was never your fault, it was all of von Karma and Robert's fault...I forgive you, by the way." He gave his fiancée a kind smile as she returned his with a happy, tearful smile as her sobbing and hiccuping calmed down. Once she was calm, they let go of each other and stare into each other's eyes lovingly. "I really missed you, my love~" Polly gave his fiance a kiss on the cheek. "I missed you too~" He returned the kiss with a heartful smile. "Come on, let's walk and chat so that we can catch up with each other." Polly nodded in agreement as she and Yanni Yogi began to walk, chatting about the stuff that has happened in the past few years. He even told her that he got a pet parrot and how he named it after her, which she thought was sweet of him to do. Yanni was thankful to be reunited with his love again, despite how bad their first reunion was. He was still wondering why that newspaper was out on the ground, but he didn't think much about it. If it weren't for that, he would've lost his Polly again. 'Heh, I guess happy endings do exist afterall...' He thought as he and Polly walked and walked until they both disappeared.
