Burma Valley Police Depot. 1125 hours Desk of Detective Alexander Rhodes DETECTIVE!!! a large brown bear briskly walked up to the Lynx's desk and presented him with a thick manilla folder. "we have reports of two bodies forund in the creekbed... one's been electrocuted, a very odd case... and the other... well... you gotta see it for yourself." Detective Rhodes, the Lynx, sighed deeply... "it's a half hour to noon chief? can't i wait to check out a lightning victim until AFTER lunch?" the bear pounded the desk loudly with a large fist "ALWAYS SHIRKING RESPONSIBILITY! this is no accident... it appears to be a double homocide... now get your furry ass in gear and get over there! your JOB'S riding on this one RRhodes! i've had enough of your BULLSHIT!" Rhodes shighed and left the station. he did good work... he just never really took the initiative... Rhodes joined the police force hoping for some excitement... some interesting cases... but Burma Valley was a slow town... a fairly good distance from any majoy city... it wasn't often you saw a homocide... much less two... Rhodes opened the door to a black 1980's vintage Firebird. he stroked the top of hte dashboard a few time... admiring the car. "damn i love this car..." he said as he drove off to the creek. it was a fairly uneventful drive, but Rhodes found just the kind of crime scene he'd been waiting for... he passed by one of the officers who was keeled over just outside the tape. a small fool of greenish-yellow vomit at his knees. Rhodes cooly lifted the crimescene tape and stepped forward to the creekbed. a crimescene photographer, a rabbit, young, was already onscene and snapping photographs. Rhodes took one look down. "oh my god!" his exclimation of surprise sparked the attention of the photographer. "amazing isn't it? the guy who did this had such art..."two bodies lay in the creekbed, a tabby covered in electrical burns, the other, a sheep, skinned, and clutching a large knife in her chest. "art?" Rhodes asked. the photographer nodded "yeah look at this... the tabby for instance, is COVERED in electrical burns... and each burn is both an enterance, and an exit for an electrical current." the detective nodded slowly... "that means that he was killed by a massive electric shock from multiple sources located close to his body... whoever designed such a contraption would have to be very inteligent." the cameraman nodded. "exactly... and look at the sheep... perfect cuts, made with a razor sharp intrument, probobly a scalpel. this guy was looking for pain, not death. he didn't nick any veins or arteries... she would've survived the skinning and been in incredible pain before she was stabbed" "no wonder she killed herself" the photographer took a quick step back. "come again?" Rhodes smiled and knelt next to the body. " she killed herself. for one, the knife isn't plunged in all the way... if she were murdered by it, it probobly would be. second, she's only gripping the handle, a real victim would've grabbed the blade by accident. also her left hand is gripping the base of the handle... a technique used only to push an object IN... not pull it out... and i BET you" he reached into his jacket and removes a fingerprint kit. "that we'll only find her fingerprints on the knife." "wow... you really have an eye for these things" the rabbit said. he seemed a bit taken aback by the detectives logic. "what're you doing in a town like this? you should be in LA or Miami or somethin'" Alexander sighed. "i ask myself that every night" he told himself. he gasped a bit for a moment. there was something out of place. he could almost sense it. he looked over the sheep's body, and found a single hair that didn't belong. he lightly picked it up and looked at it... "grey hair... not from any of the officers here. eaither this is from someone the sheep knew in life, or this is our killer right here..." he called over one of the other officers on duty at the crimescene. "ROSCO! i need you to fingerprint the bodies and find out who they were... i wanna know how these two people are connected no matter how arbitrary. i need to get to the lab..." he held up the solitary hair. "i need to know what we're looking for..."
