Written by: Jason Barry Artist: Some Young Guy Edited by: Ace Allen Publisher: Black Ace Mint Issue 2, Page 1 Panel 1 Scene: Feldon standing in front of a large, blocky house, just outside a wrought iron gate. The house has three windows on the top floor, two plus the door on the bottom floor. The place is well kept and the grounds landscaped. Feldon appears to be holding a business card in his hand as he looks in awe at the home before him. For this section Feldon is dressed in black jeans, a black Nirvana Nevermind T-shirt over which is blue and black checkered fleece shirt. Caption: October 1991 Panel 2 Scene: A close up of the card that Feldon is holding, his fingers obscuring some of the words on the card which reads: Genichi Atsu Atsu's Home For Boys 4162923984 Cantertown Panel 3 Scene: Feldon knocking upon the heavy wooden door of the home. Panel 4 Scene: The same. An older raccoon answers the door and is facing Feldon, shaking his hand. Feldon (FL): “Mr. Atsu? I'm Juniper Feldon, we spoke on the phone?” Genichi (GA): “Of course. And please call me Gen.” FL: “In that case, please call me Feldon. Only my mother calls me Juniper.” Panel 5 Scene: A staircase within the house, Genichi is ascending it, holding onto the wooden bannister. Feldon is below looking up, still in the doorway. GA: “I am so pleased that you took the initiative to call me and ask for help. So many of the guys that come through here are brought in by the police and dumped on my steps or are ordered here by a judge. Even then most are gone within a week. Back to the streets.” Issue 2, Page 2 Panel 1 Scene: Second floor of the house, wooden floors, bannisters, 2 doors that lead to bedrooms. Walls are painted in a very light grey/pink colour. Genichi is continuing to speak as Feldon is making his way to the top of the stairs. GA: “There are of course some rules that must be followed if you are going to stay here: No drug use, no alcohol under this roof, no girls or in your case boys are to be invited over.” FL: “I never mentioned...” GA: “Feldon, you are far from the first gay guy that has passed through these doors. You won't be the last.” Panel 2 Scene: Genichi showing Feldon a small bare room with a single bed and a dresser. The raccoon is continuing his speech. GA: “There is to be no fraternizing with the other guys. Curfew is 11pm after that the doors are looked unless you arrange something with me ahead of time. This will be your room here. Panel 3 Scene: Feldon looking about the sparse room, listening to Genichi's speech. FL: “Thank you.” GA: “There is another matter. That of rent. If you are working I do expect you to chip in to help run this place. $100 a month. A bargain to keep a roof over top of your head I assure you.” FL: “Of course.” Panel 4 Scene: Same as before. GA: “Would you like to meet the others who are staying here?” FL: “Sure.” Issue 2, Page 3 Panel 1 Scene: A living room, couch in the centre, upon which is slouching a possum. He looks stoned, he is wearing tattered blue jeans and a light grey shirt. Everything about this character is grey. Standing on either side of the couch is Genich and Feldon, the possum appears either not to care or not to notice their presence, he's got a television converter in his hand flicking through channels. GA: “This is my oldest resident, Hartnell. He is determined to make me look like a hypocrite.” Panel 2 Scene: Hartnell tilting his head just enough so that he is looking at the raccoon. Hartnell (HB): “Tell the truth Gen. I have Fibromyalgia, I take industrial strength painkillers and smoke pot to kill the pain. Or at least dull it to the point where I can watch Star Trek in some peace. Had a dream last night of fire and floods and a squirrel holding the body of a young mouse... Here he is... Has B-Serene been invented yet? Panel 3 Scene: Hartnell slouching on the couch, flanked by Genichi and Feldon who are standing looking rather confused at what the possum has just said. GA: “Shall we move on?” FL: ... Panel 4 Scene: Backyard patio, nothing special: A round table with umbrella at which is sitting a rabbit with baby blue fur. Very feminine in appearance, wearing a black t-shirt that depicts a pair of hot-pink lips and a pair of jeans that are also black, sunglasses perched on top of his head. He is reading a book, Ring World by Larry Niven. GA: “And this is our other resident, Timothy Hayward.” Panel 5 Scene: Timothy puts the book down and takes the glasses off the top of his head. He appears to be checking Feldon out, who is standing close by with Genichi on the other side of the table. Lotion (LO): “The boys call me Lotion, so THAT has become my name.” Issue 2, Page 4 Panel 1 Scene: Feldon taking Lotion's hand, delicately, as if he is about to kiss it. The rabbit appears quite pleased by this. FL: “Charmed.” LO: “Oh Genichi, you have found me the perfect playmate!” Panel 2 Scene: Genichi watching the two of them, arms crossed upon his chest. He's looking sternly at the two younger men. GA: “Just remember my house rules. You guys want to 'play' you will have to take that type of thing elsewhere.” Panel 3 Scene: Feldon blushing, both hands raised in a gesture of 'I'm Innocent'. FL: “I assure you I won't let that happen. Besides, I have a boyfriend.” Panel 4 Scene: Genichi seems satisfied by this. Lotion; not so much. The rabbit is sitting in the deckchair with a scowl on his face. LO: “The good ones are always taken.” Panel 5 Scene: A view of “Atsu's Home for Boys” as a flat shot. The sun is setting just to the left of the house, the sky above is mostly dark, though the horizon is still bright. Panel 6 Scene: Feldon standing in what will be his room, looking at the single bed. In the doorway is Genichi, silhouetted by the light of the hallway behind him. GA: “If there is anything that you need Feldon, just let me know. I'm in the room opposite.” FL: “Thank you. I'll be alright.” Issue 2, Page 5 Panel 1 Scene: The doorway is empty and darkened. Feldon has gotten undressed and is in the act of climbing into bed, blanket lifted with one hand. Panel 2 Scene: Feldon in the bed, covers pulled tight around his shoulders. His face is a mask of agony. There are tears streaming down his cheeks. FL: Sniffle. Panel 3 Caption: Another Day Scene: A bus station, Feldon waiting nervously on one of the benches. Panel 4 Scene: Feldon's mother Ivy approaches, dressed in a long, fur-trimmed coat. In her one hand is a piece of luggage on rollers. She looks visibly upset. Ivy (IV): “June?” Panel 5 Scene: Feldon turns his head in the direction of her voice. FL: “Mom, thanks you for bringing my stuff.” IV: “You don't need to do this. I'm sure I can make your father see reason.” Panel 6 Scene: Ivy takes a seat next to Feldon as he wheels the luggage over beside himself. FL: “I do though. It is time for me to take control of my life and I will not be able to do that with dad and his expectations for me. At best I'll end up with some sort of inferiority complex or become some kind of skulking pervert like the ones at my work.” Issue 2, Page 6 Panel 1 Scene: Ivy looks visibly upset. Feldon has his arm around her, trying to console her. FL: “Everything is going to be fine. You'll see.” Panel 2 Scene: Ivy, crying, wiping tears from her eyes. Feldon still has an arm around her. Panel 3 Scene: Feldon and Ivy standing. Feldon has the luggage standing by his leg, he is giving his mother a kiss on the forehead. FL: “I will keep in touch mom. Okay?” IV: “You better.” Panel 4 Scene: A view of Feldon from behind as he is waving goodbye to his mother who is driving away in her car. Issue 2, Page 7 Panel 1 Scene: A Halloween party. Crowd of furries dressed in various classic Halloween costumes. Black and red streamers overhead. Orange and black balloons. The walls are decorated with paper skeletons, witches and spiders. There is a central tables with a punchbowl, beside which is a Jack o' Lantern. Feldon and Birch have arrived at this party together. Feldon is dressed as the Goat-man, sporting a pair of ram's horns on his head, wearing a white surgeon's smock and having cloven hooves at the ends of his shoes. Birch is less elaborate, having dressed as a wraith: Black hooded robe tied at the waist, face is white with dark rings about his eyes. Caption: Hallowe'en Sound Effects: The Monster Mash Panel 2 Scene: Birch has now nuzzled up close to Feldon, even in this crowded party. He is grinning at his boyfriend. BR: “This is quite the party. I fully expect you to get me drunk Fel and then take me to your new digs.” FL: “I can certainly get you drunk hun, but I'm under a company ban at my new place.” Panel 3 Scene: Birch steps back from Feldon, the look on his face is one of annoyance. BR: “You're shitting me.” FL: “'fraid not.” Panel 4 Scene: Birch is standing beside Feldon, it looks like he is doing the pee-pee dance, legs nearly crossed, a slight stoop to his posture, his face is mock pained. BR: “But I'm horrrrrrniiiiiiieeee.” FL: Laughing-- “Time Warp, let's dance.” Issue 2, Page 8 Panel 1 Scene: Feldon and Birch joining the other furries in the Time Warp. Both squirrels seem very happy. In the crowd is a rat with glasses and wavy hair who seems to stand out. He is wearing a lettermen jacket, whether this is a costume or he's in university is unclear. Panel 2 Scene: A slow dance commences, Feldon and Birch are out on the dance floor with a few others. The same rat in the background is still there, watching with a drink in hand. Panel 3 & 4 Scene (Panel 3): Close up of Birch, looking over Feldon's shoulder as they dance. Scene (Panel 4): A clearer shot of the rat as Birch's eyes lock onto his. Panel 5 Scene: The dance ends, Feldon and Birch stand at arms length from each other. Birch is smiling at Feldon. Feldon's head is turned toward the crowd at the rat who is now wandering off. There is a look of concern on Feldon's face. Panel 6 Scene: Feldon and Birch at the punch bowl. Feldon is ladling up some of the drink into red plastic cups. FL: “I've saved up some money lately. What say I rent us a motel room for the night, I feel that I'm going to miss that curfew that Genichi has set.” BR: “Sounds yummy.” Panel 7 Scene: Feldon grinning and counting out some loose change in his hands. FL: “Let me call Gen, so that I can tell him not to wait up for me.” BR: “Alright.” Panel 8 Scene: Feldon wanders off to find a pay phone. Birch stands at the table next to the punch bowl enjoying his drink. His eyes appear to be scanning the crowd of other people, he is of course looking for the rat. Issue 2, Page 9 Panel 1 Scene: Dingy motel room, darkened but lit with an orange glow from the sodium lamps of the streetlights outside. Central to the panel is the doorway in which Feldon and Birch are entering, kissing as they go. Caption: Later Panel 2 Scene: The two squirrels tearing the costumes off of each other in front of the small bed. Birch is giggling as Feldon peels the robe off of him. Panel 3 Scene: Feldon and Birch sitting on the edge of the bed, naked, kissing, touching, so forth. Panel 4 & 5 Scene: Side view, Birch on his back upon the bed, head pointing towards the right. Feldon is lifting him by the thighs and is between Birch's legs. The next panel is bubble framed and is Birch's fantasy; some leading bubbles in the previous panel would be appropriate. It is the same image as the first panel except that instead of Feldon it is the mysterious rat from the party. Panel 6 Scene: Darkened motel room, lit by the orange sodium lamps outside. The light casts bar shapes across Feldon who is laying awake in the bed as Birch sleeps peacefully cuddled up next to him. His expression seems to be one of worry. FL: Thinking-- Is he not attracted to me anymore? Panel 7 Scene: Feldon turned over in the bed, facing away from Birch, eyes closed and lightly sleeping. Birch, now facing the other direction, away from Feldon, appears to be shivering as if cold. Issue 2, Page 10 Panel 1 Scene: Sunny day, warm for November. Lotion is lounging on a deck chair, decked out in a Raider's Jacket, jeans and a pair of sunglasses. He appears to be enjoying the sun while he still can. Feldon is approaching from the left. Panel 2 Scene: Feldon standing beside Lotion, being careful not to block the sunlight coming down. Lotion appears to be pleased to see him and is raising the sunglasses from his eyes so that he can see Feldon better. The rabbit is grinning. FL: “Hey Lotion.” LO: “Feldon! You've come to see me, I am pleased. Heard you spent the night out, was it wonderful? Was it filthy?” Panel 3 Scene: These words from the rabbit seem to have put Feldon at ease. The ghost of a smile is now on his face as he squats down to be on the level with Lotion. FL: “Quite filthy, took an hour to get my fur clean.” LO: “Something is bothering you though. You've got that look. Guys usually wear that look when they come to me to complain that I'm a dirty slut.” FL: “I don't think you are.” LO: “You are too kind. I loves me some men—all kinds and in all ways.” Panel 4 Scene: Feldon frowns at the rabbit. FL: “I think my boyfriend is interested in someone else. He was... staring at another guy at the party all night. I'm pretty sure that he was thinking of him while we were screwing.” LO: “Thinking about another guy doesn't mean that he's not interested in you Fel. It just means that he noticed another guy that he thought was cute. Now if he starts sleeping with said guy and comparing the two of you or constantly mentioning him, then you might have a problem.” Issue 2, Page 11 Panel 1 Scene: Feldon considering what Lotion has said as the rabbit replaces his sunglasses. FL: “You are right of course. If a man is considered guilty for what goes on in his mind, then give me the electric chair for all my future crimes.” LO: “What is that from?” Panel 2 Scene: Feldon grinning. FL: “Bat Dance.” Panel 3 Scene: Lotion laughing as Feldon pulls over a deck chair to join the rabbit. LO: “Listen Fel, if things ever go downhill between you and your beau, let me know, I'll come to your rescue. You can give me an angry grind. I'll bet you are a good lay.” FL: Blushing-- “Thanks Lotion.” Panel 4 Scene: The same. Feldon and Lotion now facing the sun, Feldon without glasses so that his eyes are closed. FL: “Tell me about yourself Lotion. What brings you to Genichi's place?” LO: Shrugging-- “Just left home, wanted to be free to explore the world. Heard that you had a rough time at your place.” FL: “Could have been worse I suppose.” Panel 5&6 Scene: The same, the first panel is a pause in the conversation, one of those awkward silences. The second panel Lotion drops a bombshell. LO: “I was abducted by aliens once.” Issue 2, Page 12 Panel 1 Scene: Feldon and Birch climbing down the familiar embankment of the overpass. The two of them are wearing heavier jackets and the trees and shrubs in the background are bare of leaves. They breathe out plumes of vapour from their mouths. Caption: Excerpt from 'Dirty Uncle Feldon: A Memoir' “After the little hiccough in our relationship during that Hallowe'en party, things between Birch and I fell back into a common routine.” Panel 2 Scene: Birch grinning and looking down, we see the top of Feldon's head and perhaps his tail in the frame. Birch is resting his hand upon the top of Feldon's head. Panel 3 Scene: The same, only now we have a thought cloud coming from Birch that is replacing Feldon with the mystery rat from the Hallowe'en party. Caption: “At least for a while.” Panel 4 Scene: Sayvette department store, Feldon is sweeping up glass is the housewares aisle when his attention is drawn to a familiar presence. Looking up with a grin he sees Birch dressed in a heavy winter coat, he doesn't notice Feldon. Caption: January 1992 Panel 5 Scene: Feldon's smile falters when he notices that Birch is waving to the rat, who has just stepped out of another aisle. Panel 6 Scene: The rat is now scritching Birch at the base of his fluffy tail, leering at the squirrel. Panel 7 Scene: Feldon looks as though he is going to faint. He takes a seat on a clothes hamper, waiting for the shock to pass. Issue 2, Page 13 Panel 1 Scene: Winter landscape, suburban neighbourhood. Feldon is dressed in a winter jacket standing on the porch at Birch's house. He is knocking on the door. Caption: Mid-February Panel 2 Scene: Birch opening the door with a smirk on his face, letting Feldon in. FL: “It's colder than a witch's tit out there.” BR: “Wouldn't know about witch's tits dear.” Panel 3 Scene: Feldon holding up a VHS tape, the title of which states: Treasure of the Four Crowns, he is grinning, wild-eyed. FL: “Are you up for some terrible movies, followed by some terrible sex?” BR: “Mm—you bet.” Panel 4 Scene: Feldon and Birch on the couch together in the living room. Feldon's arm around Birch's shoulder, Birch's hand laying on Feldon's stomach. Feldon is sitting properly on the couch, while Birch is nearly laying, curled up on it. On the television the movie is playing. Panel 5 Scene: Birch moves in for the make-out session, climbing atop of Feldon and kissing him just below the jawline. BR: “Let's move this upstairs. The movie is boring me.” Issue 2, Page 14 Panel 1 Scene: Birch laying naked on the bed like some sort of sex kitten, limbs curled up sensually. Feldon is standing and taking off his shirt. Panel 2 Scene: Feldon slipping a condom out of the pocket of his jeans and holding the packaged rubber between his teeth as he undoes his fly. Birch in the background is wearing a confused look on his face. BR: “Why do you have a condom Feldon?” FL: Thinking-- Because you are fucking Tad. Panel 3 Scene: Feldon grinning and holding the wrapped condom between two fingers. FL: “Lotion was telling me a story of a friend that kept getting urinary tract infections. So Lotion asked if he used condoms and when the guy said no, Lotion answered, 'Well there's your problem. You do know where you are sticking that thing?'” Panel 4 Scene: Birch laying on the bed, looking unimpressed, Feldon is chuckling at the story, but the cracks in this relationship are now bare and the resentments are rising. BR: “I don't like that rabbit.” FL: Thinking-- And I don't like Tad. We are even. Panel 5 Scene: The two squirrels have sex, though neither of them seem to be into it. Birch continues to have a look of being unimpressed and Feldon who is behind him has a look of sadness on his face. Panel 6 Scene: Feldon leaving Birch's house, standing in the deep snow, everything is grey and white. He has his hand raised in a wave. Birch stands in the doorway with his hand raised as well. There is a sense of finality. Issue 2, Page 15 Panel 1 Scene: Sayvette department store. Feldon is mopping up a spill in the household cleaners department. Caption: February 1992 Panel 2 & 3 Scene: Panel 2 shows that Feldon's attention is suddenly drawn to something other than his work. The squirrel looks up with a mixture of annoyance and surprise. Panel 3 shows that Birch and Tad are approaching, holding hands. Birch has a sneer on his face. Tad looks rather amused. Panel 4 Scene: Feldon going back to his work while Birch and Tad stand there. FL: “Is this a break up Birch? We couldn't have done this during my off hours?” BR: “When are you ever off Fel? And yes, Tad and I are together.” Panel 5 & 6 Scene: Panel 5 has Feldon looking at Tad, as if staring into the rat's very soul. Panel 6, Feldon nods to himself as if he has confirmed something. Panel 7 Scene: Feldon looking at Birch sadly. FL: “You know that I'm starting college in September and that I'm taking up residence—there would have been time and a room for us you know.” BR: “Tad has his own place. He also has a bigger dick and more talent than you do.” Tad (TD): Laughs Panel 8 Scene: Feldon turning his back on his former boyfriend and the rat. He is wheeling his bucket and mop in front of him. FL: Broken voice-- “Fine. You two have fun. I have work to do.” Issue 2, Page 16 Panel 1 Scene: Birch and Tad standing in the aisle. Birch is watching Feldon wheeling the bucket towards the double doors that lead into the back room. There is a brightness to Birch's eyes, as if this has hurt him just as much. Panel 2 Scene: Feldon standing at the doors to the elevator that will bring him down into the basement and into the custodian's room. Sound Effect: Ding! FL: Thinking-- Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry... Panel 3 Scene: Feldon collapsed in the custodian's room, sitting sprawled out on an upturned bucket. The heel of his hand in pressed against his left eye as the tears flow freely down his face. Issue 2, Page 17 Panel 1 Scene: Feldon in his room at Atsu's Home for Boys. He is laying on the bed in a foetal position, he is not asleep, he seems to be staring out of the panel at the audience. There are more familiar decorations in this room at this point: A couple Batman posters, the skull with the long hair hanging from the ceiling, a copy of Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King discarded on the floor. Caption: A Few Days Later. Panel 2 Scene: The silhouette of a rabbit now stands in the doorway, looking toward Feldon curled up in the bed. LO: “Feldon, do you want to talk about it?” FL: “Not really.” Panel 3 Scene: Lotion is pulling Feldon out of his bed by the arms, the squirrel is not giving much of a struggle. LO: “Come on you lazy bones, we are going out for dinner and you are going to vent.” FL: “Fine.” Panel 4 Scene: Aerial shot of a sleazy little truck stop on the edge of Cantertown's industrial area. The parking lot is covered in snow, there is a single transport truck parked in the back of the rest stop. A curvy sign atop a thick iron pole declares the place to be called Buck's Diner. There is a pair of tracks in the snow left behind by two hooded and bundled up figures, heading toward the doors. Panel 5 Scene: Feldon and Lotion sitting at a booth in the truck stop. The benches are covered in a brown vinyl “faux leather” that is tattered at the corners. The table tops are a copper pattern that screams 1970's. There is a sugar dispenser, salt, pepper and napkin dispenser on the table as well. FL: “You take me to the nicest places Lotion.” LO: Grinning-- “Local cruise spot actually. The people who run this place turn a blind eye to any... doings in the bathrooms downstairs. They have a large customer base who are VERY loyal.” Issue 2, Page 18 Panel 1 Scene: A doe in a waitress uniform approaches with a notepad in hand. She seems to recognize Lotion. Waitress: “What'll it be sugar?” LO: “Breakfast platter with scrambled eggs and a salad. Black coffee.” Waitress: “And you?” FL: “Brown toast, bacon and home fries. Tea with cream and sugar, if you would.” Panel 2 Scene: The waitress wanders off, leaving Feldon and Lotion to discuss recent events in Feldon's life. LO: “So dish. What's been going on lately?” FL: Shrugging-- “Birch ran off with some rat named Tad. Had the gall to show up at my work to inform me that it was over—With boyfriend in tow.” Panel 3 Scene: Waitress is putting drinks on the table. Black coffee for Lotion and an ice tea for Feldon. FL: “Miss? A HOT tea please. Cream and sugar.” Waitress: “Sorry sugar.” Panel 4 Scene: Waitress wandering off, more talk between Lotion and Feldon. LO: “That was a dick move on his part.” FL: Visibly angry-- “And the part that gets me? I've destroyed my life for him, risked everything and THIS is what I get for it.” LO: “How so?” Issue 2, Page 19 Panel 1 Scene: A tea cup and small kettle are placed before the squirrel by the waitress as the two friends are talking. FL: “As long as I wasn't sleeping with anyone, I could have lived a somewhat normal life with my family. I plan to sleep with Birch and stand up to my father about it and get kicked out. Now I'm living in some halfway house and Birch is off fucking some dude and having a laugh at my expense.” LO: “Hiding who you are to make your family happy is not the answer. You did what you had to.” Panel 2 Scene: The same. FL: “Easy for you to say.” LO: “Not really. I ran away from home. I entered Genichi's place when the cops busted me for hustling at the age of 14. We do what we have to to get by. You've made better choices than I have I can assure you.” Panel 3 Scene: The food arrives as the conversation continues. LO: “Birch was your first. Most guys get hung up on their firsts. There will be others and likely they will treat you better and the sex will be better as well.” FL: “Right now I'm not all that interested. The food here looks surprisingly good.” LO: “Martha will be pleased to hear it.” Panel 4 Scene: The dinner is finished and the money is on the table. Lotion is leading Feldon towards the back room where a sign is hung announcing the location of the washrooms, arrow pointing downward. The rabbit is wearing a mischievous smile, while Feldon is looking back toward the table with a look of worry. Panel 5 Scene: Lotion listening at the men's room door that is in the basement of this diner, he is frowning. LO: “Occupied.” Issue 2, Page 20 Panel 1 Scene: Lotion appears to be considering what to do, while Feldon appears to be staring at the ceiling and whistling nonchalantly, hands in pockets. LO: “There boiler room it is. You'll feel right at home Feldon, it's where they keep all the janitorial supplies. Panel 2 Scene: Lotion pulling Feldon into another room at the end of a dark hallway of ancient wood panelling. Feldon is protesting as they go along. FL: “I know what you are planning Lotion, we don't need to do this.” LO: “Shush, you need a little fun and excitement. You are too straight and narrow. Come.” Panel 3 Scene: The boiler room, which contains a large water heater, mops, buckets, brooms, a sink. The type of things that you would find in a back room such as this. Feldon, viewed from the waist up, is standing in the middle looking rather nervous, we only see Lotion's ears. Panel 4 Scene: A close up of Feldon's face, lifted upward toward the ceiling, biting his lip. FL: “Oh fuck.” Panel 5 Scene: Feldon and Lotion interrupted. We view this seen from the doorway as a shadowy figure stands there and blocks parts of the view. It's one of the deer that run the place, male, young, but that is the only impressions we receive. Feldon is standing still, smirk on his face, eyes bright green. Lotion is kneeling with a look of shock at being caught like this. FL: The lettering in this balloon should be bright green like Feldon's eyes. “You don't see us.” Panel 6 Scene: The deer that was in the doorway looks dazed and confused as he is turning away. Leaving the pair within alone. LO: “How did you do that? Holy crap, what is with your eyes!” Issue 2, Page 21 Panel 1-3 Scene: A sequence of panels depicting the following: Feldon looking down at Lotion his eyes still bright green. Second panel, Feldon blinking; third panel Feldon looking down at Lotion, his eyes are now the natural dark brown as before. FL: Third Panel-- “What do you mean? Panel 4 Scene: Feldon helping Lotion back to his feet. The rabbit is suddenly uncertain. LO: “Maybe this was a bad idea.” FL: “Yeah. But it was appreciated. Thanks Lotion.” Panel 5 Scene: Feldon is now leading Lotion back up the stairs to the diner, holding his hand. Both the squirrel and the rabbit are wearing a grin on their faces. Panel 6 Scene: Back at Atsu's Home for Boys. The living room, a couch, a coffee table upon which are several VHS tapes in a stack. Feldon is searching through these tapes looking for something to watch, while Lotion has a laugh. FL: “Sometimes Aunt Martha Does Dreadful Things... where the hell do you find these things?” LO: “I know a guy. Runs a video shop called 'Killer B's'.” FL: “Twitch of the Death Nerve. I've heard of this one, we may have to watch it.” Panel 7 Scene: Genichi enters the room with Hartnell following close behind. He observes the two boys with some misgivings. GA: “Tim, Fel, behaving yourselves I hope.” LO: “Just watching a movie Gen.” Issue 2, Page 22 Panel 1 Scene: Hartnell seems to go into a trance at this point, the others stare at him with concern. HB: “The fool passes between two candles... Becomes the guardian of the moon. Funerary jackal is coming for you Feldon, jackal of the moon...” Panel 2 Scene: As everyone stares in disbelief, Hartnell wanders off. FL: “Thanks for that.” Panel 3 Scene: Genichi breaks the silence, still looking mildly confused as Feldon and Lotion still stare off into the direction that Hartnell has wandered toward. GA: “Anyway... I have noticed that the two of you are becoming close lately and I wanted to impress upon you both that I will not tolerate any sort of making out or other displays of affection under this roof. I know this sounds awful of me, but it is for your own good and the good of anyone else that may be living in this house. Are we clear? I don't want to have to turn one of you out into the streets.” Panel 4 Scene: Feldon and Lotion's attention is on Genichi as he stands there with a stony, impassive look on his face. FL: “Message received captain.” LO: “Come on Gen, you should know us better than that.” Panel 5 Scene: Genichi starts to head off panel. GA: “I do. That is why I wanted to say something before those raging hormones of your could start clouding your judgement. I'm heading out, no fucking around alright?” LO: “Yes sir.” FL: “No problem.” Issue 2, Page 23 Panel 1 Scene: Genichi is now out of panel and Feldon and Lotion are left to watch movies together. They have decided on “Sometimes Aunt Martha Does Dreadful Things.” Feldon is holding up this particular VHS tape to indicate his choice. Lotion is glowering toward the direction of Genichi. LO: “The nerve.” FL: “Let it go Loash. We're going to watch Aunt Martha.” Panel 2 Scene: Feldon is bent over the coffee table, putting the VHS tape into the VCR which is off camera (as is the television set). While he is doing this Lotion is checking out the squirrel's ass with a smirk and a raised eyebrow. FL: “Besides, as much as I like you and all, I'm not ready for anything new. Still very pissed off at Birch for what he did.” LO: “Mmm.” Panel 3 Scene: Feldon sitting beside Lotion on the couch once again. FL: “It's nice to know someone who likes terrible movies like I do. Birch put up with them, but always complained afterwards that these movies were 'Wasting his time.' What time? We'd end up watching some trash on the television anyways, you know?” LO: “Sounds to me that he wanted to bone.” FL: “It's all he wanted to do.” LO: “Is that so bad?” Panel 4 Scene: The same.
