Issue One, Splash Page Scene: A tight close up of a red diary leaning against the leg of a bed. The word “Diary” in gold leaf. Off-white carpeting, crumpled royal blue blanket hanging from the bed above. A discarded tube sock, perhaps an action figure from something like The Real Ghostbusters or GI Joe laying about. Title: Feldon, Magical Mystery Squirrel Story Arch Title: Melodrama! Part 1, (Vivaldi font or something similar, think romance novel. Hot pink of crimson red letters) Sub-Title: The Days of My Life Credits: Framed on the dangling blanket, yellow colour for the font; Written by: Jason Barry Artist: Who knows! Editor: Likely Adam Allen Published For: Black Ace Mint Issue One: Page 1 Panel 1: Caption: June 1991 Scene: Overhead shot of a boy's bedroom, unmade bed, clothes, toys on the floor from the 80's, movie posters on the wall. A 10 year old squirrel boy; Springer, is laying on his belly upon the bed, wearing a pair of shorts, t-shirt and baseball cap. He is reading a diary that he has found under the mattress. Caption: Excerpt from “Dirty Uncle Feldon: A Memoir” I was fifteen at the time when my brother had found my secret diary that I kept under the mattress of my bed. In it I discussed my growing fondness for boys, one in particular and drew in it crude pictures. I was starting to become comfortable with myself, but I knew that the rest of my family would not be. Panel 2: Scene: Tight close up of Springer's eyes as he is reading the book. There is a mean spirited glare in those eyes. Panel 3: Scene: The diary page from which Springer is reading. Hand written in pencil, crude stick-figure sketch depicting what is written there: I had that dream again where Birch and I are naked in the hallway at school. He has such a gorgeous body: thin, a bit of muscle. He wants to show me something, doesn't seem to realize that he already is. Turns out that he has glued hair between his bellybutton and dick. Birch proudly announces to me, 'I'm a man now!' Panel 4: Scene: Close up of Springer's mouth, twisted into a sneer. Springer (SP): “Faggot.” Panel 5: Scene: Springer snapping the diary closed and getting up from the bed. His expression is one of triumph. SP: “Wait until I show mom and dad this.” Issue One: Page 2 Panel 1 Scene: The arcade. Feldon is a 15 year old male squirrel, wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans. His fur is red, muzzle is cream coloured and his eyes are BROWN. Pay close attention to eye colour as Feldon's eyes will shift to green in other scenes. He has a gun in his hand and is pointing it at the machine called Chiller. Other machines flank this one on either side: Dragon Slayer, Polybius and a new machine called Street Fighter 2 is in the back ground and has drawn a crowd. Panel 2 Scene: Feldon stepping out of the arcade with a group of three other friends: A German Sheppard, a raccoon and a yellow duck. The arcade is a squat yellow brick building that looks to be crumbling away, covered in graffiti. Feldon has his hand raised to the others. Feldon (FL): “Later, later!” Panel 3 Scene: Feldon at the front door of his house, he is opening the door and stepping through. He is cocking his head to one side as if listening—as if he senses something. FL: Thinking-- Something's not right. Panel 4 Scene: Having stepped through the front door, Feldon is greeted in the foyer of his home by his father, mother and Springer. His father's face is a mask of rage, clenching in his fist the now crumpled remains of Feldon's private diary. His mother looks to be in agony, she's been cry and is wiping tears away from her eye with one of her hands. Springer is peering around from behind his mom, a smug look of triumph on his face. Old Man Feldon (OMF): Shaking the diary at his son “What kind of filth is this!? Is this some sort of a sick joke?” Panel 5-8 Scene: These four panels are a progression of action featuring a close up of Feldon's face. In the first of these panels he is speechless, eyes wide, in the next panel his face begins turning slowly from a look of shock, to fear and finally into tears; mouth contorted with agony. Panel 9 Scene: Old man Feldon, seeming to tower over his son, face shadowed with rage, eyes burning like the pits of hell. His mouth is cavernous, bellowing the following question: OMF: “Is it true?! Is it true?!” Issue One: Page 3 Panel 1-2 Scene: Close up of Feldon's face in both of these panels. The first showing Feldon shame-faced looking at his father (or in this case the viewer of the comic). The next panel a slight dip of his head in a nod of confirmation. Panel 3 Scene: Old man Feldon, seething, teeth clenched, fists clenched. Behind him, Feldon's mother is placing a hand on his shoulder with concern and fear in her eyes. OMF: “Get out of my sight. Get out before I do something I'll regret.” Panel 4 Scene: Feldon running out the front door of his house, visibly upset. Caption: Excerpt from “Dirty Uncle Feldon: A Memoir” I sensed it all like sickening waves radiating from my father: The fear, the shame, anger. I was on the verge of ruining HIS life; what would the neighbours think when they found out? Or the guys at work? My father would be a laughing stock. He would be less of a man, a faggot himself. As for Springer, I could never figure out what had drove him to present that diary to our parents. He was younger than me and there was always a kind of animosity between us, we were so very different, but I never thought that he would betray me in such a way. Panel 5 Scene: A very sad looking Feldon at the park, sitting on a swing. It is getting late at this point, the sky is darkening, there is a slight breeze blowing loose leaves and trash around. Caption: Excerpt from “Dirty Uncle Feldon: A Memoir” I remember the confusion and fear of an uncertain future, where would I go from here? I had one more year of high school which I could drop out of if needs be. I'd have to get work, a place to stay... What if I ended up having to sell myself on the street? I wasn't sure I could do that. Panels 6-8 Scene: Late at night, Feldon at his front door, it is dark out. He reaches for the knob and turns. Caption panel 8: I'm surprised to find it unlocked. Issue One: Page 4 Panel 1 Caption: June 1991, another day. Scene: Dinner. All four members of the Feldon family sitting at the table. Uncomfortable silence. Caption: Excerpt from “Dirty Uncle Feldon: A Memoir” Suffice it to say things got very uncomfortable in the Feldon household. Dinner became a test of wills as to who could sit the longest without speaking a word. There was never eye contact between my father and I, but my mother tried. Bless her heart, I think she tried her hardest to keep us all together. Panel 2 Scene: Feldon finishes his dinner and gets up from the table, gathering his plate. Feldon's Mother (FM): “Juniper, where are you going?” Panel 3 Scene: Feldon looking over his shoulder at his mother with kindness and warmth. A smile on his face. FL: “Stuff to do. I've got resumes to deliver. I need a job.” Panel 4 Scene: The rest of the family sitting at alone to finish their meal. There is the sound of a door closing as Feldon leaves the house. FM: “Don't you think this has gone on long enough?” OMF: “Let the boy go Ivy.” Issue One: Page 5 Panel 1 Caption July 1991 Scene: The basement of the Sayvette department store. It's got a very warehouse-feel to it: Skids piled to towering proportions with boxed merchandize. Support pillars rise up from floor to ceiling like some ancient cathedral. The atmosphere is very gloomy, very grimy. You feel dirty just looking at the place. Feldon is wearing a red smock, the store's dress colours, and is holding a mop. Beside him is a yellow bucket with a built-in wringer. He is mopping up a case of Pepsi that someone has dropped. Caption Excerpt from “Dirty Uncle Feldon: A Memoir” I got hired on at the Sayvette department store as a janitor. A dollar above the minimum wage so I suppose I was ahead of the hiring curve. This store was part of an ancient mall and was filled with all sorts of quirky things such as an incinerator that hadn't been fired in a decade. Then there is the elevator... it breathes. Panel 2-6 Scene: The elevator doors, which are bright orange with a large blue horizontal stripe. In the first panel of this sequence the doors are closed, the second panel they are opened about half an inch to reveal darkness of the shaft. Third panel closed, forth opened as above, fifth closed and the sixth open about a half inch. Sound Effect, panel 6 DING! Panel 7 Scene: Feldon looking fearfully over his shoulder at the elevator. FL: Thinking-- What was that? Panel 8 Scene: The elevator doors open all the way to reveal an empty elevator car. It's lights are brilliant. FL: Thinking-- Something's not right here. Panel 9 Scene: The elevator doors close once again. Issue One: Page 6 Panel 1 Scene: Feldon standing in the basement of the Sayvette, mop still in hand, but his job is forgotten as he stares at the closed elevator doors. FL: “What just happened?” Panel 2 Caption Later. Scene: Feldon is sitting in the lunchroom with a fellow employee named Riddle; who is a wild-eyed possum with unkempt head fur. The readers arrive to this scene mid-conversation. Riddle (RD): Smiling, boisterous. “The elevator? Ever watch the doors when it is at rest? They pulse, back and forth, like its breathing or something.” FL: Grinning, but uneasy. “You are full of shit.” Panel 3 Scene: The same. RD: “Not me. Weird stuff happens here once in a while. Nothing outlandish, just weird. The elevator is one of them—it likes to head to the basement on it's own, opens its doors and then closes them again. It's freaky when it does it on the night shift. And there is the fan room. I'll have to show you it one day; it's like a secret passage or something, I dunno. But the weirdest thing you'll see, particularly because you are the janitor—are the old queers that cruise the upstairs washroom! Dirty fuckers.” Panel 4 Scene: Riddle begins laughing. Feldon just smiles and looks down at the table, trying to cover his embarrassment. Issue One: Page 7 Panel 1 Caption: August 1991 Scene: Feldon and a bunch of other students, both male and female are having a bush party. Cans and bottles of beer lay about a clearing in a wooded area. Small fire pit in the centre of the dirt. Multiple couples are making out, as others laugh and tell stories. Caption: Excerpt from “Dirty Uncle Feldon: A Memoir” The final days of summer, one year left of high school ahead and then after that college. I had already been looking into student loans and living at residence to get me out of my current situation. I suppose it could have been worse, I could have been beaten nightly, I could have been kicked out onto the street, but it was the isolation and the subtle hostility that I had to endure. Panel 2 Scene: Feldon glances over at Birch, another squirrel with light brown fur, holding a can of beer in his hand. Somewhere off camera someone is telling a ghost story. Caption: “You ever heard the story of Goat-Man? He is said to have lived over at the abandoned farm just north of here...” Panel 3 Scene: Birch now looks over at Feldon with a coy expression, their eyes meet. Birch (BR): Thinking-- I wonder if he's interested in me? Panel 4 Scene: Birch getting up from the crate that he's been sitting on. Resting a hand on Feldon's shoulder as he does so. BR: “Gonna go take a leak, I'll be back guys.” BR: Thinking-- Take the hint Feldon, please oh please... Issue One: Page 8 Panel 1 Scene: Birch is now out of frame. Feldon is looking in the direction that the other squirrel has gone and is putting down the can of beer that he's been nursing. The others are still sitting around telling stories, oblivious as to what is going on. Caption: “Goatman was a surgeon that got hit by a train. It cut him in half and he had to replace his lower half with that of a goat...” Caption: “You see that's bullshit. Do you know how complex an operation that is? Not to mention the shock...” Panel 2 Scene: Birch leaning up against a tree in heavy shadows, there is a nervous, expectant look on his face. Feldon is approaching, also nervous but smiling, he decides to lighten the mood. FL: Transylvania accent, “I am the Goat-Man! I have come to suck your cock!” Panel 3 Scene: Birch still leaning against the tree begins to unzip his jeans, He is wearing a big grin on his face, he leans in close to whisper in Feldon's ear. BR: “Would you like to..?” FL: “Yeah.” Panel 4 Scene: Feldon going down on Birch, who is still leaning against the tree. Birch is grasping the trunk of the tree, reacting to the sensation of getting a blow job. His face is tilted upwards in ecstasy. All of this is done with heavy shadows to keep things as tasteful as possible. FL: Thinking-- The ultimate act of defiance. Issue One: Page 9 Panel 1 Scene: Birch's O-face, wide-eyed and gaping mouth. Caption: Excerpt from “Dirty Uncle Feldon: A Memoir” Our first time was of course, embarrassingly short. BR: “Oh...!” Panel 2 Scene: Birch, with a big grin on his face is now unzipping Feldon's pants and already has a hand down it. Feldon's expression appears to be one of pain for some reason. Caption: Excerpt from “Dirty Uncle Feldon: A Memoir” What Birch lacked in staying power, he more than made up for in enthusiasm. BR: “Now it's my turn.” Panel 3 Scene: Feldon's face with a look of shock, eyes wide, teeth clenched. Birch appears to be struggling to get Feldon's dick out of his pants, the erection is tangled amongst the fabric of the jeans and underwear beneath. Caption: Excerpt from “Dirty Uncle Feldon: A Memoir” Which was good, because the moment my dick was released from it's denim prison, I had a misfire. Panel 4 Scene: Feldon's O-face. Heavy blushing. Panel 5 Scene: Feldon looking incredibly embarrassed, his fly still open. Birch is in a kneeling position licking his fingers. BR: “Woah, that was a crazy amount of cum.” FL: Blushing furiously-- “Very sorry Birch.” Issue One: Page 10 Panel 1 Scene: Birch looking up at Feldon with a smile. Feldon looks as though he wants to run away and hide forever. BR: “Dude, relax. That was the coolest fucking thing I've ever seen. Just like that porn, 'Deep Inside Annie Sprinkle'. I mean holy crap...” Panel 2 Scene: Feldon helping Birch to his feet. Birch seems more concerned about wiping the mess off of his shirt. FL: “What should we tell the others?” BR: “Nothing. It is not their business. It's dark out, I doubt they will see these stains. More concerned over my parents seeing this mess.” Panel 3-4 Scene: Feldon has the sudden urge to grab Birch (which he does) and to plant a kiss on the face of the surprised squirrel. Panel 5 Scene: The kiss is broken off. Birch and Feldon staring at each other. BR: “What was that for?” FL: “Because I wanted to.” Panel 6 Scene: Zoom out, the two squirrels become nothing more than black silhouettes drawing closer together, muzzles almost meeting in a kiss, possible tongue action. BR: “In that case. Come here...” Issue One: Page 11 Panel 1 Caption: September 1991 Scene: Feldon and Birch standing in a school hallway, behind them rows of lockers, a drinking fountain. Feldon is holding a couple books under his right arm, his left is raised up above Birch pressing against the lockers for support. Meanwhile Birch is holding his books close to his chest and is leaning against the same locker. Casual conversation perhaps. Caption: Excerpt from “Dirty Uncle Feldon: A Memoir” Birch and I has become an item, though we were keeping it low key. He didn't want his parents to find out and I was in the same boat for different reasons. I suspect that I'd have been physically thrown out of my home by my dad if he had known that I was messing around with Birch. As long as I was not actually having gay sex, my dad could pretend that it wasn't happening, that this was just a phase that I was going through. He could keep up appearances and not be embarrassed by his queer son. Panel 2 Scene: Feldon and Birch at a park. Birch is sitting on a swing, hands gripping the chain on either side of him. Feldon is leaning casually against one the steel supports of the frame. Both appear to be in a cheerful mood. In the distant background we can see Feldon's brother Springer, watching them. A sub panel within this panel will show Springer's expression and perhaps thoughts on what he is seeing. Panel 2a Scene: A close up of Springers face. Calm, no smile, but the eyes appear happy. Caption: Excerpt from “Dirty Uncle Feldon: A Memoir” As for Springer, I'm sure that he knew that something was going on between Birch and I. How could he not? He had read the pages of that diary that described my affections toward that guy and now to see us always together in school? But I suspect that the hostilities at home, no matter how subtle, had taken their toll on him as well and he had no interest in making things worse. Panel 3 Scene: The same park but more from Springer's view. Feldon and Birch in the distance on the swing set. Springer who is now in the foreground has turned his attention away from them. Panel 3a Scene: A shot of Springer wandering off, wind carries dried leaves, blowing in low across the road as we watch his retreating figure. Issue One: Page 12 Panel 1 Scene: Feldon and Birch holding hands, making their way down an embankment near an overpass. The overpass is concrete, graffito tagged and there are cracks here and there. Beneath this overpass a small stream runs by. The embankment and surrounding area is all low brush and stunted trees. Caption: Excerpt from “Dirty Uncle Feldon: A Memoir” Because we needed to keep our relationship a secret Birch and I could only meet on occasion to fool around; finding private, hidden places such as the woods or the overpass that lead out of Hollander's Corner and connected us to Canter Town. Panel 2 Scene: Feldon with his back against the concrete pillar. Birch standing in front of him, leaning and planting a kiss on Feldon's lips. Panel 3 Scene: The same as above, but now Birch is moving downwards, head now level with Feldon's stomach, a free hand lifting the shirt up. Feldon has a lecherous grin on his face, looking down at Birch. Panel 4 Scene: Birch appears to be missing. Feldon's head is tilted back, looking up at the underside of the overpass. He is biting his lower lip. Caption: Excerpt continues: At this time we mostly did oral, with the odd jerk-off session here and there. Birch was itching to go farther; all we needed was place and opportunity. Panel 5 Scene: Feldon gasping out in pleasure. Caption: I wanted our first time to be smooth and embarrassment free. I knew that I was going to have to find out some information. Of course at this time internet was not common and sex education was a joke. They taught you the proper words for the genitals, about AIDS and Herpes, and the gestation cycle of babies. What they don't teach you is HOW to have sex, straight or otherwise. FL: “Ah-HA!!” Issue One: Page 13 Panel 1 Scene: The orange and blue doors of the Sayvette elevator in a closed position. Caption: Of course I had other means at my disposal. Sound Effect: DING! Panel 2 Scene: The elevator doors open to reveal Feldon with his cart full of cleaning supplies and replacement toilet paper, paper towels. Panel 3 Scene: An older male feline, scruffy looking, tired eyes. He is wearing an overcoat and brown slacks and is pushing open the doors to the men's room. Caption: The Dirty Fucker. Panel 4 Scene: Feldon abandoning the cleaning cart outside of the men's room and heading into the washroom himself, but not before the squirrel takes a cursory look around to make sure that he is not being observed by the other employees. Panel 5 Scene: A pair of grey washroom stalls situated to the left in the men's room, to the right are the urinals of which there are two. The right stall is occupied, a pair of legs appear beneath the door, trousers down. Feldon is entering into the one beside it. FL: Thinking-- Let's see if this works. Panel 6 Scene: Feldon sitting on the toilet with his pants down. His left hand is outstretched and touching the partition that separates the two stalls. He has a focused look to his eyes and a playful grin. His eyes are a bright green colour and everything in the background of this panel: The tiled wall, paper dispenser, graffiti should be coloured in shades of green. FL: Thinking-- Come on... you guys are almost always thinking butt-sex. Issue One: Page 14 Panel 1 Scene: The older feline in the stall next to Feldon's. He looks tired, bored. Old Dirty (OD): Thinking-- ... Panel 2 Scene: The frames of these panels are bubbly clouds, memory/fantasy frames. Feldon kneeling naked on a bed, hands placed playfully in front of himself covering up his genitals. Coy expression on his face. The bed is rumpled, there is a cluttered night stand: Pills, radio, lamp, discarded tissue. The old feline is standing facing Feldon, he too is naked. Caption: The fantasy begins. FL: Smiling sweetly. “I've never done this before sir. Could you explain what is going to happen step by step?” OD: “Virgin eh? If it will ease your mind.” FL: “Oh, it will.” Panel 3 Scene: The old feline is laying out a towel in front of Feldon. OD: “First we place a towel here, because things can get pretty messy. Now I want you to kneel here, lemme see that ass.” FL: Giggles. “Okay.” Panel 4 Scene: View of the old feline, torso and up holding a small tube of KY which he is applying liberally to two of his fingers. OD: “Next we will apply the lube. Spread 'em boy.” FL: “Lube? What's that for?” Issue One: Page 15 Panel 1 Scene: Feldon on all fours, towel beneath him and the old feline behind him. Feldon's eyes are wide at whatever is going on back there. The older feline is of course applying the lube to Feldon's ass. OD: “What are you new? This ain't like fucking a pussy darling, your ass is drier than the Sahara. Be thankful for this KY stuff. Back when I was young we used to use carbolic soap.” Feldon: “I always wondered why the guys talked about Vaseline and peanut oil... There was even one guy who tried shaving cream. I always just used my bare hand. Cripes, I am new aren't I?” OD: “Shut up and let me do this.” Panel 2 Scene: The men's room stall. Feldon is still sitting on the toilet, looking mildly annoyed. Ears canted to the left. In the stall next to him there is the obvious sound of masturbation. All the colours are back to normal, in this case beige and yellow for the tiled walls, grey toilet paper dispenser. Feldon's eye colour is back to being dark brown. FL: Thinking-- I'm going to have to clean that up aren't I? Sound Effect: Next stall-- Fap, fap, fap, fap, fap... Panel 3 Scene: Feldon leaving the men's room and grabbing his cleaning cart. In the foreground we see a jackal dressed in a black pea-coat, there is a smiley face button pinned on one of the lapels. He is looking at the squirrel with a smirk on his face. Issue One: Page 16 Panel 1 Caption: October 1991 Scene: Sayvette department store, the Hallowe'en section. Various costumes hang from the hooks: Skeletons, Devils, Vampires, Witches. There are paper decorations of pumpkins, skulls and there are rubber bats. Feldon is holding a plastic skull with long red hair. Birch is standing there, smiling at his boyfriend. FL: “Alas poor Yorick. I actually kind of like this thing, it's only three dollars.” BR: “So what are you going as this year?” Panel 2 Scene: Feldon turning his head to regard Birch. Smiling and bright eyed. FL: “Had not considered it. You?” Panel 3 Scene: Birch holding up a rubber bat by it's string. Eyebrow cocked at Feldon. BR: “Dunno. YOU should go as the Goat-man.” Panel 4 Scene: Feldon giving Birch a nudge and stepping out of the Hallowe'en section. He is still carrying the skull with the long red hair. FL: “I will always be your Goat-man.” BR: Chuckles. Panel 5 Scene: Birch's face with a sly smile upon it. BR: “We should actually talk turkey.” Issue One: Page 17 Panel 1 Scene: Feldon glancing over at Birch. FL: “Thanksgiving?” BR: Nodding “Mm-hmm.” Panel 2 Scene: The same. BR: “My parents have decided to leave town for the week and visit my aunt, which means I have the entire house to myself. It's going to be awful lonely.” Panel 3 Scene: The same. FL: Grinning. “I'll have to see what I can do about that. Are we thinking of actual Thanksgiving or the day after? As awful as it is in my house right now, I'll probably be expected to attend dinner.” BR: “I'm thinking the day after. Wish that you could spend the night, but I'm guessing that would look suspicious to the folks as well?” Panel 4 Scene: Feldon nodding to this comment. He looks frustrated. Panel 5 Scene: At the checkout. Feldon is purchasing the plastic skull with the red hair. Birch is looking at the World News: It appears that Bat Boy is on the loose again. Cashier: “That will be $3.45.” FL: “Here you go.” Issue One: Page 18 Panel 1 Scene: Feldon and Birch exiting the Sayvette and into the mall adjacent. There are several stores ahead of them: Pet shop, book shop, shoe store and a sleazy little smoke shop. Feldon is pointing to the latter. FL: “Let us stop in here.” Panel 2 Scene: The smoke shop. A tiny convenience store that is cluttered with chocolate bars, chip, refrigerators full of pop and magazine racks. There is a long counter on one side, behind which the owner; a squat tiger, stands. Behind him are shelves of cigarettes, condoms, lubes and other sex paraphernalia. Feldon is grabbing a couple Skull Crushers from one of the candy boxes, while Birch looks on rather bored. FL: “Today is a skully kind of day.” Panel 3 Scene: Feldon at the counter, putting the two chocolate skulls in front of the owner of the store. The tiger is looking at the squirrel with suspicion. Feldon's eyes are bright green. FL: “I'll take these and a tube of the KY please. Don't look at me that way—you are wearing a pair of lace stockings and a garter belt under those slacks. You can't judge.” Panel 4 Scene: The store owner looks shocked but says no more. Feldon looks defiant and is placing his money on the counter, while Birch stands behind looking confused. BR: “How do you know..?” Panel 5 Scene: Feldon and Birch leaving the smoke shop with a small bag. The tiger in the background looks bitter. BR: “That was crazy.” FL: “Fuck 'im. Standing in judgement like that when HE wants it more than anyone else.” Issue One: Page 19 Panel 1 Caption: Thanksgiving Day. Scene: Feldon's room. Looking cleaner than at the start of the comic: Posters are taken down, old toys and such are packed away in boxes with the words “Yard Sale” written on them. Feldon sits on the bed reading a comic—Batman, The Mud Pack. Panel 2 Scene: Springer pops his head into the doorway. SP: “Dinner time.” FL: Off panel-- “'kay.” Panel 3 Scene: A dinner being eaten in silence. There is a turkey on the table, bowls of mashed potatoes, carrots, stuffing. A large pitcher filled with gravy. Ivy looks visible upset by the silence. Panel 4 Scene: Feldon finishes his dinner, but has remained seated. His mother is asking a simple question off panel. FM: “Pumpkin pie?” FL: “Yes please.” Panel 5 Scene: Dessert is served, more eating in silence. Panel 6 Scene: Feldon getting up from the table after finishing his pie. FL: “Thank you mother, that was tasty.” Issue One: Page 20 Panel 1 Scene: Feldon clearing away his dishes. His father looks suspicious, mother is at least happy for the compliment. OMF: “Where are you off to in such a hurry?” FL: “Hanging out with friends.” Panel 2 Scene: Old man Feldon eyeing his son with contempt. Panel 3 Scene: Feldon meeting his father's gaze with defiance. Panel 4 Scene: Feldon's father, he's starting to look tired. OMF: “Get out of here. Don't come back.” Panel 5-6 Scene: Feldon closing his eyes, sighing deeply to hold back the onrush of tears. Second panel to show him turning around and leaving. Panel 7 Scene: Feldon outside on the street, walking away from home. The wind is blowing, catching his jacket, leaves are crossing his path. Beautiful fall weather. He is looking sad. Caption: Excerpt from “Dirty Uncle Feldon: A Memoir.” And just like that it was over. I wouldn't return to the house, I had read the surface thoughts of my father, he'd be waiting for me to come home, he'd know the truth. It hurt but I was ready for all of this, I had kept up my grades, I had found work, I had applied for college, residence and a student loan. Hell I even had a place to stay in case of this eventuality. Panel 8-9 Scene: A scrap of paper in Feldon's hand showing the name Genichi Atsu, with a phone number. Next panel Feldon looking toward the setting sun. Caption, Panel 9: I went to Birch's house. Issue One: Page 21 Panel 1 Scene: Feldon at the front door of Birch's house. He looks incredibly sad, while Birch who has opened the door, has a look of worry for his boyfriend. BR: “Feldon! Oh my god, what happened?” FL: “My dad.... he... he...” Panel 2 Scene: Birch ushers Feldon into the house. BR: “It's alright, you can stay here tonight.” FL: “Thank you.” Panel 3 Scene: A tidy little house, nothing out of the ordinary. Birch is hanging up Feldon's jacket, while Feldon finally breaks down and begins crying. Panel 4 Scene: Feldon sitting on the couch looking miserable. There is a coffee table in front of him upon which Birch is setting down two cups of tea. BR: “Here, I brought you something to drink. Settle the nerves, settle the stomach.” FL: “Thank you.” Panel 5 Scene: Birch sitting beside Feldon, arm around his shoulders as Feldon sips at his tea. Birch is wearing a half smile on his face. BR: “So much for our romantic evening eh?” Panel 6 Scene: The same, except now Feldon is giving Birch a kiss, full on the mouth. FL: “No, I still want to. Fuck that old man.” Issue One: Page 22 Panel 1 Scene: Grinning, Birch is now taking Feldon by the hand, lifting him off the couch and toward a staircase in the background. Feldon is finally starting to smile. Panel 2 Scene: A bedroom, most likely Birch's parent's room, the bed is queen sized. Birch appears to be spreading one of his own blankets over the bed, while Feldon is holding what looks to be a beach towel that has seen better days; ie, it has holes in several places. Panel 3 Scene: The same. This time both Feldon and Birch are beginning to undress. They are looking at each other hungrily. Panel 4 Scene: Birch is positioned on the bed on all fours, Feldon is off the bed in a standing position behind him. Feldon is squirting KY onto his fingers. FL: “Are you ready for this?” BR: “Mmm... yeah.” Panel 5 Scene: The awkwardness of the first time. Feldon is directing Birch closer to the edge of the bed because from their current vantage points he can't actually reach Birch's rump. FL: “Uh, Birch, just back up toward me a bit... Perhaps I should climb up onto the bed...” Panel 6 Scene: The same. This time Feldon is starting to penetrate Birch. The squirrel on the bottom has a pained look on his face. Feldon looks concerned. Note that squirrels have big fluffy tails that can be used to skillfully hide any of the naughty action, in case this whole scene were to be kept at a mature rating rather than an X. BR: “Oh—Ow! Ow ow. Just... wait a moment.” FL: “Should I stop?” BR: “No, I think we just need to adjust something.” Issue One: Page 23 Panel 1 Scene: Feldon looking a bit frustrated at the whole affair, while Birch still looks pained. FL: “I think I have a better idea.” Panel 2 Scene: Feldon is now laying on his back across the bed and Birch is now straddling him. FL: “There, now lower yourself down.” BR: “Yeah, this seems better.” Panel 3 Scene: The same. Though Birch is now sitting flush on Feldon's lap. Feldon's expression is one of excitement, Birch has his eyes closed and is biting his lower lip, one hand is pressed against his breast. FL: “Oh fuck! Holy shit this feels amazing! It's like, it's like a tightening ring...” BR: “Mmm!” Panel 4 Scene: The short and sweet ending of this dalliance, Feldon is gripping Birch's thighs with both hands, head tilted against the bed, eyes squeezed shut, teeth gritted together. Birch for his part is arching his back, eyes lightly closed, mouth open wide in a gasp. FL: “OH FUCK!! Oh---oh shit!” BR: “Uh—UH!” Panel 5 Scene: The two squirrels, spent. Birch is laying on top of Feldon, limp. Feldon has his arm about Birch, running his fingers up and down his boyfriend's spine. FL: “Fuck. That was amazing. How are you doing?” BR: “Sore.” Issue One: Page 24 Panel 1 Scene: A close up of Feldon's face. Mock indignant, as if he is looking at the viewer outside of the page of this comic, addressing them personally. Breaking the forth wall. FL: “For the love of god, this whole book is nothing but smut!” Panel 2 Scene: The camera pulls away to reveal Feldon and Birch still naked but now in Birch's bedroom. Typical teen stuff: Posters on the wall (probably Batman), comics, clothes scattered about. Birch is laying on his stomach on the bed flipping through a comic book, (X-Men #1, Jim Lee). Feldon is sitting on the bed, half cross legged with one knee raised up. He is holding a pink book with the title “The Soft Machine, by William S Burroughs”. FL: “How the hell did you find this book?” BR: Giggling-- “I knew you'd love it.” Panel 3 Scene: Feldon leaning over Birch, arm draped over him, scritching his neck. Birch is smiling, their eyes are locked on one another. FL: Grinning-- “Well it's starting to put me in the mood again.” BR: “Mm—good, I was hoping for a second round.” Panel 4-7 Scene: The copy of The Soft Machine has tumbled to the floor, standing at a tilted angle against the tangle of blankets from Birch's bedding. We go into a progressive close up of the book until the entire panel is nothing but a pink square. On the final panel a caption from Feldon: FL: “Can we do it on your bed this time? It's much cozier in here.”
