Nox chugged down another bottle of the strong alcohol, taking the buzz and the burning of his throat head one. It had been another long day at the shop and he had a little extra money to throw away for the night. So he came to his favorite spot to spend the night, a local cheap bar that saw the same folks every night. Usually, Nox could recall everyone that was enjoying their time with drinks and the low music of the old, dusty jukebox. But as he scanned around the space, his eyes fell on someone he had never seen before. This guy was all by himself, sitting in the corner’s booth, looking out the window as he sipped on his own drink. For the most part, the wolverine wasn’t much of the talking type but he considered this place his home away from home and the people that drank there were practically family. Even if this guy was just visiting town for the night, the large mustelid was compelled to rise from his seat at the counter. AAA had just moved into the small town a day ago and after a long night of lifting boxes from a moving van and unpacking every little thing he had, the BBB needed a drink or two. Luckily, he stumbled upon the very bar he was in now. He was right in his assumption that the place had some good drinks for cheap. Stepping into the small bar for the first time, AAA was a bit intimidated by how easily everyone else was mingling. They all knew each other and were grouped in little cliques, something akin to high school lunch tables. Not expecting this, the CCC elected to just sit and watch the others. But his ears flicked and he looked to the side to see a large, dark furred wolverine looming over him. His body was thick all over and he wore a gruff expression. But to AAA’s surprise, the large guy sat down on the other end of the bar, grunting as he squeezed into the clearly tight space. “Hey. You’re not from around here, are you?” the wolverine asked. His voice was deep and rumbling, as if he was growling with every word. Despite that AAA could feel something behind it, something that compelled him to answer back with a nod. “Figured as much.” Nox chuckled and thumped his arm onto the booth, leaning forwards. A wide toothy grin spread over his muzzle. “This is a small town, and everyone knows everyone by name. I was the same way when I first came here. You’ll get used to it.” AAA nodded and took another sip from his drink, feeling better from the experienced male’s words. As he put the cup down there came a slight pang in his bladder, steadily growing stronger with each passing second. “Uh, I’ll be right back,” he said, rising from the booth. But Nox got up as well. He noticed the look the BBB gave him and he casually shrugged. “What? I gotta take a piss.” The bold wolverine smirked and chuckled to himself as he marched down the bar’s back hall. AAA followed close behind, silently looking to the wolverine to lead him to the restroom. At the end of the hall, Nox pushed a door open, but instead of a restroom’s interior, the BBB was surprised to see the bricks and concrete of the bar’s back alley. Before he could ask what was going on, a large strong paw ushered him outside first. Another chuckle came from Nox as he stepped outside as well, letting the heavy door slam shut behind the two of them.
