Previously on Galarian Days... With their course righted, Zander and Wufu obtain the means to enter the Crown Tundra (from a Swimmer who didn't want their Crown Pass) so they can gain their third fellow messenger. On the ride there, Zander catches Wufu up on how he became the Wolfen Knight of Galar, but all he could get in return was that Wufu got twin Kubfu before the train reached their destination... - Now that the two anthros were inside the Crown Tundra Station, they were raring to go. "Just a few more steps, Wufu, and we'll be officially exploring unexplored territory... by us." "For the third messenger, yes," Wufu said. "I wonder who they could be? What species they are, what legendary Pokemon they've bonded with, what color and/or powers they have as a result..." "Only one way to find out," Zander said, and the two anthros had taken their first steps onto the snow-covered lands of the Slippery Slope... only to be instantly hit by the location's weather conditions, namely wind and snow! "Whoo-hai, that is BRISK!" "Cold!" Wufu concurred, instantly bracing his arms together. "So cold..." "Quick! Back inside!" Zander called out, and he and Wufu were back in the station to reassess their situation. "Okay, so we clearly can't go through this weather without freezing our tails off." "Then how are we supposed to stop..." Wufu asked before yawning, as the cold made his hibernation mode kick in, "the opposite crisis now?" "We'll need something to keep us warm and up," Zander answered before taking out his Rotom Phone, "and I know just how to get it." (Meanwhile, back in Wyndon) While everyone at Wyndon was watching the Champion's Cup at Wyndon Stadium, the Battle Cafe in town was completely devoid of customers, leaving Sophia on standby for deployment until Richard came in and said, "Well, Sophia, guess I'm calling it. Everyone's at the Stadium for the Cup today, and nobody wants any coffee from here. So, you can go ahead and clo-" But suddenly, the phone rang, and Sophia jumped up with a happy, "Oh, boy! A customer! Finally!" before picking up the phone and saying, "Hello, thank you for calling the Battle Cafe, how may I help you?" "Yes, I'd like to place an order for delivery, please," a familiar voice said on the other end of the line. "Zander? Is that you?" Sophia said, instantly recognizing the voice. "Yeah, hey, Sophia," Zander said before starting his order. "Let me get two large hot mochas, whipped and drizzled with caramel, extra espresso, and... do you deliver to the Crown Tundra?" "We do," Sophia confirmed. "Great," Zander said. "We'll be right outside of the Crown Tundra Station, at the start of the Slippery Slope." "Okay, so that's two large hot mochas, whipped and drizzled with caramel, extra espresso, delivery to Crown Tundra Station at Slippery Slope?" Sophia asked. "That is correct," Zander confirmed. "Coming right up!" Sophia said before hanging up and saying, "Ordering! Two boiling cauldrons, cushy and guilded, and give it a turbo charge!" Richard saw everything, and even though he was proud of Sophia's work ethic, he still didn't want to push her too hard. "Okay, you just need to get this delivery sent out, Sophia. But right after, take the rest of the day off. You deserve it." "You got it, boss!" - Back at the station, Zander and Wufu were huddled together to try and warm themselves back up and keep themselves awake, since cold temperatures can make animals feel sleepy. "Come on, Wufu, don't conk out! Don't conk out!" "Sorry, Zander, I'm trying..." Wufu mumbled with another yawn. "Eyelids drooping... focus faltering..." "Stay with me!" Zander pressed, but even he was starting to get drowsy. "We gotta... hold out for the coffee... gotta... stay up.. gotta... stop... the... opposite... crisis-" Unfortunately, animal mechanics won out over sheer willpower, and the poor anthros closed their eyes... and collapsed on the floor in a furry heap. Two minutes later, a Flying Taxi touched down at the station, and Sophia came out of the cab with a drink carrier holding two large cups. "Delivery! Two large mochas, whipped with caramel and extra espresso!" she called out, but no one answered. "Hello?" Figuring the customer would be still inside, she walked in with the drinks and said, "Hello? I have a delivery for- AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!" Sophia almost dropped the carrier in shock at the sight of Zander and Wufu flat on the floor with their eyes closed, but didn't. Instead, she placed the drinks on the counter and took a closer look, and breathed a sigh of relief when she saw they were still breathing. She then bent down and gently patted Zander on the cheek to try and wake him up. "Zander? Zander?" she said as she patted. Suddenly, Zander was starting to come out of his coma as he stirred and fluttered his eyelids, until he woke with a yawn. "Oh, Zander, thank legendaries you're awake!" "Ugh... what happened?" Zander asked as he sat up. "How did I end up on the floor?" He then saw Wufu laying next to him and exclaimed, "Oh, no! The cold must've put us to sleep! Sophia, where's the coffee?" "Right here," Sophia said as she got the drink carrier from the counter. Zander quickly took one of the cups and took a few swigs, then grabbed the other cup and whispered, "Oh, Wufu? The coffee's here," as he held the cup to the bear's muzzle for the fumes to waft into his nose. "Smell that caramel whip topping? Breathe it in, Wufu, breathe it in..." A few sniffs, and Wufu began to stir out of his coma. "Ugh... Where am I? Why do I feel so cold on one side?" Finally, he opened his eyes, and rolled over to see Zander looking at him, along with a girl in a barista's uniform next to him. "You passed out and took me down with you," Zander said bluntly, "and now the coffee's here." Wufu then accepted his cup from Zander and took some careful sips before letting the espresso kick in. "Yeah, sorry about that," Wufu said as he and Zander stood up with their drinks. "I really tried to stay up, but hibernation mode is a cross I have to bear, no double entendre intended." He then turned to Sophia and asked, "So, how much do we owe you for the coffee... and saving our wake cycles?" "That'll be 600 Poke, please," Sophia said, "and you can let me come along with you since I was given the rest of the day off after this delivery." "Coming right up, my good lady," Wufu said as he put his cup in his arm to open up his inro and count out 600 Poke. "...Here you go. That should cover it." "Thank you, sir," Sophia said as she accepted the payment, "and thank you for choosing the Battle Cafe! Now, as soon as I head back to Wyndon, get this submitted to the boss, clock out and change out of my uniform, I'll be right back!" "Well, we're coming with you," Zander said. "We'll need to get into some more proper attire for this, since outside is year-round winter weather," he said before sticking his head out the door to yell, "AND THESE FUR COATS DO NOTHING!!!" "Fair enough," Sophia supposed. "I guess the Flying Taxi drivers can handle carrying three passengers after carrying one." And with that, she, Zander and Wufu piled in with their drinks in tow to get themselves situated...
