//------------------------------// // Chapter 1// Story: Ordeals in the Hollow Shades// by SoundwaveLoo//------------------------------// Dawn Gleam sighed as she began to drink milk from the glass she had just poured. "Dawn! What up?" greeted DJ Mixer. “Oh, hi, DJ. I was just drinking my breakfast.” "Oh cool have you seen Midnight." “She was out the door pretty quickly this morning. I didn’t even get a chance to talk to her beyond ‘Hey, Dawn, gotta go, see ya later!’” "Crap I gotta go talk to her about what happens last night." “K. Have fun with that.” Dawn Gleam continues drinking milk. Mixer walks out the door as Alt walks down stairs. “Oh, hi, Alt. You just missed DJ. He said he needed to talk to Midnight about ‘what happened last night,’” Dawn says. “Oh. That’s not good.” Alt speaks as he sets some waffles in the toaster. “Huh? What did happen last night, anyway?” Dawn asks. “Well, Mixer kinda got drunk. And, uh, so did Midnight.” “Oh, dear,” says Dawn with as much expression as one could realistically be expected to have whilst drinking a glass of milk. *at Mixer* "Where is she," Mixer softly said to himself as he trotted through the Shade. "I'm right here," somepony hissed. "Huh," he said ever so graciously as he turned around, only to have a hoof meet his face. "Ow! That hurt!” he exclaimed as he rubbed his face. "Well, you deserved it for playing with my emotions like that," Midnight said a bit angrily. *at Alt* “Dawn?” Alt says nervously. “Yeah?” “If we ran out of liquids for you to drink… What would happen?” “Why do you ask? That’s almost an impossible scenario, seeing as DJ is making enough money to keep us all alive,” “I’m just wondering.” Dawn acquired a scrunchy face as she looked up and to the left, pondering. “Well, we have running water, but that doesn’t have all the nutrients a pony needs to survive, so I guess eventually I’d… Well, I’d have to drink from another pony like you.” Alt’s facial expression became that of shock and fear. “Wh-what?! How does that even work?” “A moth pony’s tongue is pretty long, you know. Long enough to reach down somepony’s esophagus and into their stomach.” “That’s… kinda freaky and ridiculously cool at the same time.” “I suppose so. Anyway…” “Hm?” “Well, Mixer hasn’t paid the water bill for a while, and we’re fresh out of milk.” ohno.jpg “What I’m saying is-” “I know exactly what you’re saying. And no.” “Come on. I’m a mare, you’re a stallion, we’re both friends…” “Absolutely not. Find somepony else to invade the innards of.” “Please? Just once?” “How do you know it’s ‘just once?’ What if this scenario actually happens and you have to do it again?” “I’m sure it won’t.” “How?” “I mean, we’ve been living together like this for six months, and it hasn’t happened yet…” “Alright, well, you’ve got me there, but… ugh, fine.” “Yay! I promise it won’t be too unenjoyable.” Dawn leaned into Alt. Their mouths touched. Both were open. Alt could feel Dawn’s tongue dancing around in his mouth. It felt almost nice. Then it hit his throat. It didn’t stop. Finally, the moth pony’s proboscis reached Alt’s stomach. And then it started drinking. It very felt strange for Alt, like a black hole had formed inside of him and begun expanding very slowly. Then Mixer walks into the kitchen, unnoticed by either of them, and starts laughing. Dawn quickly retreats her tongue back into her mouth. Her cheeks turn rose red. “Wh-what are you doing here?!” She said, enraged and embarrassed. "Oh just getting a bite to eat, I didn't know you two were together. I mean, I had my suspicions, but wow," Mixer said. “T-together?! We aren’t! I… I was just…” She looks at Alt. “Alt? Are… Are you okay?” He was visibly shaking. Alt manages to get out a “Y-yeah… F-f-f-fine…” His voice was as shaky as his body. He collapses, unconscious. "Umm...should we get him to a hospital?” “That was his first time… He’ll be fine soon… Oh, I hope I wasn’t too rough on him...” "First time, hmm." Dawn’s eyes grew wide, realizing the implications of what she had just stated. “No, no! I didn’t mean-” "Don't worry, it can be our little secret." "What can be your little secret?" Midnight asked as she walked into the kitchen. “Nothing!” Dawn exclaimed. Midnight couldn’t help but notice Alt passed out on the floor. "Her and Alt making out when I walked in," Mixer said. “We were not!” "Oh, really? So what were you two doing?" questioned Midnight. “I was just… I was showing him what moth ponies do!” "Sure you were," Mixer said, laughing. “You know what? Fine. I don’t have anything to prove to you.” "I'll ask Alt when he comes to," said Mixer. “W-wha?” Alt groggily said as his eyes slowly opened. He stood up after trying a few times. "Alt, what were you two doing?" asks Mixer. Alt went pale as he suddenly remembered. “Oh, that. Well, Dawn was telling me about how when there aren’t any drinks left, a moth pony has to drink from somepony’s stomach, and then she convinced me to let her demonstrate.” "So she did want you to." “Well, yeah, I guess.” “Okay, well, maybe I did also kinda sorta want to see what it was like to kiss him,” Dawn admitted. "Yes! I was right." “Wait, so you were lying about there not being any milk left?!” Alt says, infuriated. “Yeah… I hope you can forgive me for being dishonest…” “*sigh* Ugh, fine.” “Well, I’m off. I’ve got a gig in half an hour,” says Mixer. “And I’m late for a family meetup,” says Midnight. They both leave the room. Silence for 20 seconds. “...Wanna do it again?” “Absolutely.”
